I was headed back up from SoCal on the 99 and now I'm "Stuck In Lodi Again!" .... OK, I just had to say that, it reminds me of that song! I think Lodi is a nice town ... to get stuck in! Alright, I picked this location of Applebee's cause I love the deal they have called Really Big Meal Deal, where you get a Bacon Cheeseburger, endless fries and an endless non alcholic drink all for $9.99! This is the deal that's fighting off the 3 for Me deal at Chili's, but Chili's doesn't give you bacon on the cheeseburger. This Lodi location of Applebee's is just off the 99 exit west on Kettleman Lane and go for a little ways and you'll see it on the left. You need to make a U-turn of turn left and go into the shopping center. Lots of parking. I've tried this all you can eat deal with the ribelets, boneless wings and fried shrimp, but it's not a very good deal as they really control how much you can eat, so it's not really all you can eat. It's how much they'll let you eat. It took us 2 hrs for get filled up! Do get the Bacon Cheese burger deal for $9.99, that's what I'm here for. After 3pm till 6pm they offer half off apprtizers and that's a good deal too. The service is super friendly and they know what my order is, even though it's not actually on the printed menu, you need to ask for it. My burger came out cooked as ordered, "pink" and had lots of bacon and fries. I got a Strawberry Lemonade to drink and refilled it twice. I got another load of fries too! This location in Lodi was just as good as any of the other Applebee's I've been to and I'm glad I stopped here, But now it's back on the road, so I'm NOT stuck in Lodi anymore! read more

This was my second visit in about 2 months. I had not visited an Applebees in years before that, but I heard they were trying to rebrand so we gave it a try. Ambiance: it was really cold where we were sitting, so we were able to move to the next booth, and it wasn't as cold. Service : our server was very sweet and attentive. Food: my bowl was surprisingly tasty and filling. I think I will stick with their sandwiches and burgers though. My kids like the ultimate trio. Overall I'd say yes, Applebees has updated their food, but I'm not convinced they're at 100% improved. read more

We came here to watch a football game with less of the crowd atmosphere. We were seated pretty fast between the bar and the restroom at a high table. We orders our drinks and picked from the 2/$22 meal deals. Of the sliders n fries. Prior to getting our food , we kept getting this really foul pungent Oder that would go through the area we were sitting in, every couple of minutes. Wasn't sure if the piping in the building or what. With the attempts of putting that aside, we had our meal , drinks and viewing of the game. Our service by our waitress was good! And also saw the manager on duty come out in the floor and speak to each guest. Which made the last minute visit more pleasant. read more

As usual for any Applebees I have went to the food these much to be desired. One of us had the appetizer wonton tacos they were soggy, and the sauce was so hot. She started coughing. I can say the manager was nice enough to remake them without the sauce, it took forever to get our food. They said they only had one cook. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with waffle fries to go. The fries were good, but if they can mess up fries, they really have problems. The sandwich however was absolutely disgusting. It was definitely microwaved and not freshly grilled because it had all the tell tale signs. It was soggy and lukewarm. Even the bun was soaked through to mush. This isn't my first grilled chicken sandwich, there's no reason for it to turn out that way unless it was microwaved from frozen and pre cooked. I also didn't get the cheese that I paid extra for. And the chicken itself tasted like soap! I don't know how restaurants get away with this sort of thing and manage to stay in business. With so many one star reviews here, corporate either needs to invest in making this place better, or shut it down. read more

I was excited to try the new really big meal deals at Applebee's and it turned out to be a huge disappointment. I placed an order for pick up and when a Tuesday night for pick up. I ordered the Big Cluckin Crispy Crispy Chicken Sandwich Meal. When I arrived at the restaurant at my pick up time my order wasn't ready. The staff was busy chatting with each other. I had to wait an additional 10 minutes for my pick up order. I when I got home and opened my order the the Big Cluckin Crispy Chicken Sandwich I was given looked nothing like they advertised. I was given a sandwich with a piece of the chicken breast missing. It looks like someone took a bite out of it. The chicken breast was small compared to the picture that they advertise and it didn't even look crispy at all. I was disgusted by it that I had to toss it away. My family ordered delivery through the Applebee's website. When the food came, my order wasn't there. I called and was referred to their delivery specialist Natalia. I don't remember if Natalia apologized, but she pretty quickly moved to my options: pick it up or get a refund. I asked if she could refund my delivery fee since I had to make the trip down there. No dice. When I get there, I ask for a manager to help me out and am told by Natalia that I can wait 20 minutes for the manager to be available. I ask to get the meal that wasn't delivered refunded because my family is already eating and it's probably cold now. She says I have to go through Door Dash since that's who they contract through and that Door Dash is supposed to confirm they got everything. I say, "But aren't you the delivery specialist? So, whose responsibility is it to put it all together?" She says it's hers. No apology. No nothing. I walk out to the my car and get a call from my Mom that part of her meal is missing. So, I have to go back in there and get it. When I get home, I look at the confirmation email. No mention of Door Dash or any other company. So, no idea who they contract through. My husband and I went to the Applebee's in Stockton, on March Lane, and there was a 23 person waitlist plus a 20 person party ahead of us, so we decided to go to the Applebee's in Lodi... But then we had to wait 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged by a server... a server that we would have still been waiting on, had we not said anything. Then, when she finally came to our table, she did not apologize for the wait, or even introduce herself... She went right into the 'what can I get you?' The food came out relatively quickly, but everything about the nachos was off... It looked like we got what was left on the cutting board as scraps, and the guacamole tasted like it came out of a plastic bag. The bacon, ranch crispy chicken sandwich was pathetic. Also, the chicken breast was almost nonexistent and overcooked. And don't upgrade to the waffle fries, because they are not what you would expect... we were hoping they would be more like the old fries that you got at dickies, but they were something else... Kind of hard to describe. Just don't do it... And during the time that we were not enjoying our meal, the server did not come and ask us how we were doing a single time. For whatever reason, it seemed like she was being very attentive to the tables around us, but not us. Needless to say, this sealed the deal... We will not be returning to this Applebee's. So, this place has always had memories for my kids and I - but now it's horrible. They have changed the menu so drastically- and evidently the recipe too!! Not a good visit. After the long wait, which we found out was due to lack of kitchen staff, we were finally seated. My husband and son ordered the wings. You only get one choice in flavors and the regular flavor was cold both times. Our son ordered the garlic parmesean and they were warm. My order was ordered without meat. Notice the bacon on my plate. I get really sick if there's meat or something cooked with meat. Bacon is one of the worst. Since we never got utensils, it was a moot point. A friend who I went to lunch with got the impossible burger and the size and look of that was night and day compared to what I received . The night before I took my kids to Chili's, and my 6yr son burger was bigger than this one. Went in on a Sunday night it was not busy. They sat us there was only three other tables with guest and the guy was just running around didn't even bother to come say hi to us or ask us for our drink or bring us a menu once he did. He just walked away and said I'll be back once he came back, maybe 10 minutes later after leaving us the menu he decided to ask us for our drinks we asked for margarita and an iced tea. Margarita made it all the way to our table, but the glass was so sticky and the ice tea did not show up until maybe 15 minutes later after my drink. Then another table was seated. They got their drinks they got their appetizers and their meals before us. They were seated maybe 20 minutes after we were once we got our appetizers we literally finished the entire appetizer and our food was still not out. We only ordered a 2 chicken Alfredo pastas. I'm not sure why our meal took forever to show up and once it did, they didn't have any breadsticks then we were barely starting to eat when our server brought our check and it was funny because he only brought our checks. The other tables had no checks. They were still eating and mind you they all had already started eating before us. Well 25 mins later and no food, we walked out. I left $10 on our table to cover my lemonade and my wife's sweet peach tea, which didn't have any peach flavor to it. These restaurants no longer provide any type of fun atmosphere or ambiance that makes one want to return. We came here on my lunch break, they asked if we wanted a booth or a table, the guy says he had to clean one off, so another family comes in and they are seated right away. Employees kept asking if we have been helped, and we stayed we were waiting for the guy to clear a booth. Finally someone comes over and says, "oh you wanted a booth? I am going to give this place 2 stars only because after everything we went through, they comp'ed our appetizer and drinks, otherwise this would have been a 1 star review. We went there with 8 people on 2-4-23 and I know they were busy, so I tried to be patient and understanding about the situation as a whole. We got there around 5:25 and waited over a half hour to get a table when we were told it was only going to be 15 mins. Ok, things happen, no biggie. Well, when they finally called us up, they asked if we would be ok with sitting at 2 table across from each other. Everyone was hungry so we agreed. The tables turned out to be diagonally across from each other, than should have been another clue to walk, but I ignored my gut. We sat down, ordered drinks and appetizers and we missed happy hour by 5 mins. Ok, again, no big deal, things happen. I only knew the timing of everything because of that. The drink showed up soon after, but appetizer didn't showed up at 6:45, again, I get it, BUSY night, however we started paying attention to what was going on around us and noticed a lot of people were waiting for food just like us. When the table near us got their order, all you can eat wings, there were only 4 wings on each plate. I asked them how long they waited for those and they said it had been about 45 mins. Several drinks have run dry, everyone is starting to get a little antsy as we are hungry and have been seated for over an hour now and no sign of food in site. Some more time goes by, it was now 7:30, which means we had been seated for 90 mins, all drinks had run dry, and still no sign of our food anywhere in sights. The time had finally to give up on being patient, it was time to talk. I flagged down the waiter and asked to talk to manager. The manager came over about 10 mins later, the kids at our other table saw the look on her face as she was approaching my table from behind, she was not in a good mood, I wish I would have seen this for myself, they filled me in about it after the fact. When she got to our table I said "good evening, can I inquire, what is going on tonight?" She replied "it's the last week of all you can eat and we're short staffed. I informed her that "I understand, however we have been here for over and hour and a half, drinks are dry, nobody is updating anyone with when they will get their food." She said "let me go see how much longer for your order." I replied "it's too late for that. We ordered the all you could eat as well and I know we will be waiting over 30 minutes for our next round of 4 wings or shrimp. I'd like to just pay for what I had and be on my way." She asked what all we had had so far?" I informed her our drinks and appetizers. She told me that they would cover that and that we were free to go, which is why I was willing to bump it up to a second star. I did give the waiter a tip as I was still trying to be a gracious customer and I know he had to have been having a bad night as well since I am sure he was not going to have very man happy customers. I figured that was the least I could do since everything was just comp'ed to us, I would have spent double or triple that just squaring up my bill. All in all, it may be a long time before I set foot in another Applebee's but I can honestly say that I will never go to this Applebees ever again. I would suggest other stay clear of it as well. Maybe someday we will get a restaurant that more people can enjoy. We went across the parking lot to GK Mongolian BBQ and had food on our table within 5 mins. read more
