This place is hit and miss. Always great service but the food is not consistent. I love the 4 cheese mac n cheese with chicken, but It seems like they change the noodles a lot (whatever is left over)? My last order it was not as cheesy as usual and very watery. Called an ordered food to go a full rack of ribs @ 6:23 PM, arrived at 6:35PM, waiter came out, gave her my name and went in to check on my order. She came out to inform me at 6:55PM that they did not have any record of my order, but I could reorder! I said that I will take my business elsewhere like Chili's where they don't forget orders. Omg my wife & I will never be back. The food was ice cold. I ordered Philly Cheesesteak and it was ice cold. FYI, if you order this, the cheese does not come melted, even tho the picture in the menu shows it melted. So, be sure to request melted cheese! I asked for the manager, and after about 5 mins he showed up. He was nice about it and offered to take it off the bill, but noticed afterward that they still charged us the extra for the onion rings I ordered as opposed to just fries. We've been to this location a couple of other times and have problems each time. We've also been to the Portland, OR one, and that one wasn't so great, either. The lack of management or the excess of apathy is apalling at this restaurant. ITs too bad, because when it opened, Lodi really needed a place like this and it was fairly well run for a while, if I recall correctly. However, the last few years has been atrocious. My experience goes like this: Our family goes early, say 4-5 pm, the place is nearly empty, but there are waiters/servers everywhere, awaiting the weekend dinner rush. We order drinks. The place is so empty, I see the drinks up at the bar and observe my server yukking it up with other servers who have nothing to do...in plain view. This goes on for 5-8 minutes. Finally, I get up, approach Mr. "I have no clue about customer service" and tell him...hey, our drinks are right there...ready to be served to us. Again, I would be more understanding if they were swamped. I've worked in big restaraunts, it can happen. But the place was DEAD. So he gathers the tray, delivers to our table and gives me a snarky comment about being upset. I am no lemming. The customer is not always right. (some customers think that gives them free reign to be obnoxious). But this was clearly their problem, not mine. And one of the drinks was a margarita, blended. Watching it sit there waiting for him to be done with this joke session, while the ice melted was unnecessary. But that is indicative of the service you get there. I dont blame junior, I blame the manager. There is no excuse. We'll never go again. Chili's service is much better. read more

Went last night with 11people and a baby because the Stockton store was packed and had a long wait. Called ahead to see the wait time and there was none. Awesome! Got there and it was pretty much empty. Got our table there were a total of 7 other people there. 8 if you count the waiters gf sitting at the bar. Ordered drinks they came out. Put in our order...didn't get salads for 15minutes and food for 30minutes. Did the unlimited deal going on right now and a few of use ordered a second round...took another 30minutes or so. Asked for bbq sauce with my tenders watched the waiter go sit next to his gf. No sauce. Half of our drinks sat empty for awhile then when asked for refills it took another 10 minutes to get refills. At one point there was no workers visible. No bartender, no hostess, no waiters...awkward. Our dinner in an empty restaurant took over 2 hours. I could see if it was busy. It seemed as we sat there more significant others started showing up. One of the girls even sent her bf to go clean the bathrooms. Wtf! Anyways I hope management sees this. Wet sad. Service used to better here. We waited 15 minutes while watching the hostess seat another two tables and our waitress went to both of them first. Then ordered drinks. That took another 15 minutes! Keep in mind the restaurant was 1/4 full. Also 5 wait staff and a bartender. Next they brought out half the right food and gave it to the table next to us. Then when they said they didn't order she picked up the plates and tried to give them to us. We refused them of course. Then she brought out my meal but my partners was the same dish and cold! Then they take his dish back, serving it again to him warmed up and the steak refired to well done to the point of chewy. Again they took it back and another chef made the dish. What a joke! Decided to give this Applebee's another shot after the raw shrimp incident a few years ago. Once again full disappointment. It was not busy at all in there, yet it still took 1 hour for us to get our food. We all ordered burgers. When they came we all lost our appetite. For starters, the hamburgers came out with no condiments: no sauce, no lettuce, no tomato, no onion, nothing. Just meat, cheese and bread. The meat was burnt and way too over cooked, it tasted like smoke. Then there was the bacon. It looked like it was reheated bacon from breakfast 3 days ago. It didn't even look like real bacon. Lastly, the fries. They were cold when we got them and drenched in salt. I pressed my finger on one fry and my finger tip was covered in salt. We all took a couple bites and just couldn't tolerate it. If you eat here make sure to inspect your food first. read more

Highly disappointed with the service I received last night. We were a party of 2 and went to dine in around 8:30pm, it wasn't busy. It was actually super slow. Our waitress T (not stating full name) was not the best we've had here. She took 10 minutes to even ask what our drinks were and took another 10 minutes to bring us our drinks. When it came to checking on us, refilling our drinks. She didn't do. We got our drinks refilled after she brought out our food, and asked if we wanted a refill. My cup was empty for about 20-25 mins. She also took another 10 minutes to even bring our refills. When it came time to pay for the check, it was $29.70. We gave her 2 cards and asked her to split it evenly. She came back and said she charged one card $24.70 and the other card $4. She asked if we wanted her to refund the one card to make it even like we asked, at that point, we were annoyed and just wanted to leave. So we just left it at that. Not sure how $24 is half of $29. Not only was our service bad, but I honestly feel this waitress wasn't all there, she seemed under the influence of the leaf. She wasn't making any sense when she was talking to us. When we were giving her our order, she responded super slow, and you can just see it in her face. Not the best service Applebee's. Not the best. read more

I remember Applebee's used to be the place to go in Lodi. The wait staff were well trained, the food was good, and atmosphere was lively. Now, it reminds me of eating dinner at a convalescent home and the staff are going through the motions. Recently I ordered onion rings and sliders which were terrible. The onion rings had freezer burn on them and sliders were left in the microwave way to long. Made me feel like the wait staff were peaking behind the corner giving high 5's to one another as we ate. We went to Applebee's to celebrate our aunts 81st birthday. We tried to make reservations since we had a party of 10 but they don't take reservations. Thought it would be best to go during the week (Wednesday) so it would be less crowded. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we got there so we thought it would be fine, WRONG. We were greeted by the restaurant manager who was very hurried and unfriendly. We asked for a table for 10 and he stated at least 3 times, "it's going to be at least 45 minutes before we seat you cause we are very busy". We politely said ok we would wait and had a seat. He walked by several times within a 5 minute period and again told us at least 45 minutes. Unfriendly, unprofessional and for a manager, had absolutely no tact. And this is your manager? After a few more minutes, we called Chili's across the street and they said they had plenty of room and come on over. Chili's was by far busier than Applebee's and yet they were still friendly and sat us within a few minutes. read more

After the servers rearranged tables for us, we were seated immediately, given menus and water arrived soon after. Our server, Veronica, was attentive without hovering. We placed our orders and then the wait began.... The orders were not complex, three margaritas, two steak dinners, one fish and chips, one brisket tacos, one extra crispy shrimp and one Thai grilled chicken salad. We waited about 20 mins for our food to arrive (but we also overheard that the kitchen was short staffed). I think we were all slightly surprised at how good each meal was; almost everyone cleaned her plate. I know that my Thai salad was delicious with the sliced almonds and that rather spicy dressing (served on the side for those are sensitive). One ordered the three chocolate lava cake dessert with extra spoons! then graciously shared with all of us and it was met with rave reviews. Received my food and received 5 of the smallest ribs you can get get with hardly any meat. We ordered the 2 for $20 deal a few nights ago, and my classic burger was the actual worst burger I have ever had, even McDonald's and Burger King topped this one. The meat had no seasoning and was raw in the center, the bread tasted old and had a strange sweet flavor, and the only topping on it was American cheese. My husband's chicken strips were mostly breading and very very small. For half the price at any fast food place we would've gotten more food that tasted way better. The mozzarella sticks were the only redeeming thing about our meal. I hopefully will not be back here! (We keep getting gift cards). read more

I don't know why I come back to this place when every single time I'm left with anger. I came with a party of six, the hostess had me and my family waiting thirty minutes for a table when there was barely anyone in the place. The waitress and waiters where sitting around not helping anyone and counting their tips, complaining very loudly to each other about wanting to head home without a concern of the customers. After I was finally seated the waitress was rude when a family member of mine said she couldn't have onions on her burger, then taking over another thirty to come back with our food. The food was barely warm, I had to resend my food back due to the chicken being still rare in the middle where I waited another twenty just for a fresh plate of food. When it came time to pay for dinner, the waitress completely forgot on giving me back my card leaving my card out in the open on the counter. She stood around talking to the bartender waving my card back and fourth. I won't come back to this place ever again, I will inform my family and my friends to not come to this place unless they want horrible service. read more

After having several bad experiences here with their wings making my wife and I sick...we came again with a family member. I ordered a chicken caesar thinking it would be a safe route, however they decided to place bagged mozzarella cheese on a cesar...everyone knows the few simple ingredients that grace a caesar salad....so gross! ...after showing the waitress she asked the kitchen for a side of chicken to fill his meal and they responded saying" There is chicken in there...its really small"! Who says that? Horrible! My dad ordered the grouper which was edible however he never received his salad and we got our bread 10 minutes after our meals arrived and only after asking for it several times.
