Typical Applebees chain restaurant. Food was good. Def recommend for a family on a budget..

I ordered the classic appetizer combo along with an order of Brew Pub pretzels and had everything delivered. Unfortunately, the food arrived cold. The mozzarella sticks had no cheese pull and tasted strongly of fry oil. The chicken parm wings were dry on the inside but soaked in garlic on the outside which tasted off being cold. The chicken quesadillas were decent, especially considering they were cold. The Brew Pub pretzels were also cold but still had a good crunch. I wasn't a fan of the beer cheese sauce, but I swapped it for honey mustard, which was good. The spinach artichoke dip was another miss -- it was cold and had an unpleasant texture. Reliable Late Night Dining Option! We needed a place to go after bein at Severance Hall. It is amazing how few places are actually open for late night dining on a Saturday. Our reservation downtown was cancelled by the restaurant because they said they were slow. We called several other places and, although their site said they were open until 11:30, they said there kitchen would close before we could order food. (We were getting to a restaurant around 10:45.) Applebee's was open late with friendly service and reliable food. It will be our new late night dining place! read more

If you want to watch a sporting event don't go here. No sound even for playoff games. Tried to order a salad and they are out of lettuce. They should walk next door to Meijer and buy some lettuce. Ridiculous to be out of a staple item like lettuce. read more

Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. The problem is the price for the quality of the food. $15 for a burger is insane when you cant even order it to your liking. They just ask "pink or no pink?". This place has a bad reputation for it having "microwave food". Im okay with that but not for that price range. If this place was a lot more affordable it would be banging. Last time I go here. I try to avoid chains, but this Applebees used to be the best; my friends and I would come here for Xmas every year to catch up. Haven't been in many years, & this was definitely my last trip. Food was atrocious. Pay $15 for 3 apps. One app, plain boneless wings, were so tiny (smaller than the ranch cup) and dry af. They were the crumbs at the bottom of the bag and instead of using typical sized wings they gave me that. I ripped them in half to see if there was actual chicken bc it was rock hard and dry. Couldn't eat 1/3 apps. Second app were BBQ boneless wings. Felt like they dumped a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's sauce on them; way too much. Mozzarella sticks are never hot, but that's expected so they were OK. Service was not my cup of tea. Waiting a long time to order, waiting longer to get food, not getting a refill until the check comes. This visit was the kick in the pants I needed to never waste another dollar here. read more

Had a nice lunch today-chicken tacos-1/2 price appetizer it was good-ordered food to take home-how disappointing !! Chicken tender platter-chicken tenders were overcooked to a dark brown, fries were undercooked, coleslaw was packed in the same container with the cooked food-I have ordered take out food from there before and the same thing-nothing like eating inside the restaurant. The waitresses we had were super nice. However, we sat down to eat at 5:51 pm, ordered food and drinks before 6. Our food came around 6:45. Didn't get our drinks until after 6:30. They were sitting at the bar ready to be picked up for at least 15 minutes. Had to wait almost 10 minutes for our water refills to be brought. read more

Visited this location for the first time on Tuesday for Veteran's Day. We were shocked and appalled by the unprofessional behavior of Michelle who was stationed at the bar and who was our assigned server. She openly complained and cussed. Customers had to wipe off their own areas in front of them. She used the F word in front of her own manager and continued to curse loudly as most veterans and other patrons sat awkwardly and uncomfortably. She openly complained to customers and said multiple times, "I don't care" about her job, and it's a job that wasn't her real job. Combat veterans, Vietnam war vets, and purple heart recipients had to listen to her complain that no one was taking out her trash, that no one was giving her clean dishes, that her bar manager didn't or wouldn't help her. Her bar manager endorsed her behavior by not addressing her unprofessional behavior which allowed it to continue. The most toxic restaurant experience I have witnessed. I asked for medium cooked steak and was given a steak that was either rare or medium rare. I didn't ask to have them correct the error because that would mean I would have to spend at least a few more minutes in that toxic environment. read more

the only bad thing is, we were there for about 3 hours waiting for a seat and for our food to get done. the good is we had a super sweet waiter. he was very tall and young. his name was johnny. the people i was with were getting mad and were giving him attitude and he stayed calm and kind the whole time.! read more

I had to leave a review after eating at this location. Myself and one other ordered the ayce wing, shrimp, and riblet special. First off, the server was beyond slow, and the boneless wings came out over cooked and hardly any sauce(when they would finally get it to the table). We only had about 2 refills because of the time we had to wait in between. The last refill took over 20 minutes. We ended up being there almost an hour and forty-five min. from the time we sat down, until we were able to pay. The place wasn't even busy. The only plus was that at least the restaurant was pretty clean. Without major changes, I will probably not come back to this location. read more

My daughter and I are currently sitting here for almost an hour. The place is half full at 630 at night and I can see why. We got here at 535 and after 55 minutes we got our 2 waters and Mozzarella Sticks. This was after we sat here for over 10 minutes without nobody acknowledging us. It was so bad i had to go ask the host to sit us in a section with a server! This is the worst Applebee's I have ever been at. I'm so angry I can't even rate your food! Went today to celebrate Mother's Day. We were finally acknowledged after waiting roughly five minutes and three other groups came in after us. The place was pretty empty. Music was very loud and hard to have conversation over, especially with my parents who have some hearing loss. Dined with my parents, brother and my daughters. Jason was our server, I have had him as a server in the past (unfortunately). Parents ordered ice water, no lemon. One arrived with lemon. Ok, no biggie. My brother and I ordered soda, no issues. My daughters ordered a virgin Shirley Temple and strawberry lemonade. They didn't get their drinks until about 10 minutes after the rest of is, and only after my brother got up and found Jason to ask about the drinks. We finally were able to order, and every interaction with Jason is exhausting. He talks fast, acts like he is your best buddy and channels his inner Pauly Shore, all while basically vibrating with energy. Food took a while to come but overall was ok. The parent's steaks were served cooked the way they were ordered, but no seasoning at all. No hint of salt or pepper. The broccoli and potatoes were ok. My brother's tacos and boneless wings were fine. My three cheese chix penne was warm on a very hot plate and an excellent breadstick. Daughter's chicken fingers were fine, did have to ask for ranch that hadn't been delivered in the first place. Finished eating, had one offer for refills but we were already done eating by that point and my brother had already taken his glass to the bar himself for a soda refill. Waited and waited for our checks to come......and then we waited some more. Finally Jason brought them over and had to comp us our drinks as he had messed up charging the drinks on the wrong tabs and instead of having us wait even longer (his words), he didn't charge for the drinks. Pick 3 sampler and order if onion rings to go. Pretty good. Wish slaw put on the side for the tacos. They're soggy and falling apart by the time you get home to eat. Still tasty tho! Horrible Horrible Horrible all I can say. Went in tonight with family and rude service asked for a milkshake took 20 minutes just to start being maid claimed was "busy" however slow tonight around the bar. After we had asked about when the shake was coming out our server decided to go complain to a co worker (we could hear the whole thing) saying that we were very impatient and said some very rude things. This is one of the worse times at apple bees. Also we waited 40 minutes for an appetizer but the table next to us got their food 20 minutes earlier they ordered 2 minutes before us and had more people in their party. We are done with Applebee's in Mentor. Continual disappointments with delivery orders. Tonight's disappointment was my husband's Fiesta Lime Chicken dinner. What was delivered was a sad looking piece of charred chicken, some sloppy skinned mashed potatoes - oh, but hey, at least the lime was there! No melted cheese, salsa or rice...Sad, sad, sad. How can those cooks even let a massively screwed up order leave their line like that? Completely missed the mark on that dish order. Done. I ordered a chicken fajita with cheese so just chicken and cheese seemed simple enough? It came out 20 min later with most of the lettuce scraped off and fries from at least 20-30 minutes ago at best The food was completely wrong and the fries where not even warm they where horrible. I ate in the restaurant so it wasn't a pick up issue it's hot errr Luke warm er cold from the kitchen. For $15 I'd like it to be cooked correctly I asked if I could get a new plate because I couldn't eat anything. I was told sure BUT we have to charge you again. Huh? So it's disgusting and cooked wrong so that's on me??? They charged me full price even though I'd eaten nothing seems fair I was hungry I don't mind paying but kinda would like what I ordered The food is 1/3 the size to boot may I suggest smaller plates as they look 1/2 the normal size maybe 1/3 for a way higher price service was bad food was worse. My wife and I had a very enjoyable early dinner here today. My wife had a half rack of rack of ribs with Texas sauce, along with broccoli and a baked potato, I had a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. The ribs were great, and the broccoli and baked potato were done to perfection. My chicken tortilla soup was more of a stew than a soup, it was very thick. I only had half of the "soup" and took the rest home. Later on I finished the "soup" by adding some chicken stock to the so called soup and it was delish. I think the chef let the soup reduce more than what it should have. Our server, Connie, was excellent and very attentative to our needs. Kudos to her. More often than not we have had a very enjoyable dining experience at Applebee's. I only rated our dinning experience at a 3 star was for the soup which was way too thick or reduced. Another thing was the very high caloric content on most of the dishes, 1,000 calories plus on over 90 percent of the items on the menu. My wife and started to go back there today. My wife was told it would be 10-15 minute wait t be seated. When my wife told me that I could not see the reason why as their were at least 8 tables or booths that were completely empty. I soon saw the reason for the long wait. There was only one hostess on duty and she had to seat everyone in different ent sections of thee restaurant and explain the menus and whatever ever she had to convey to the customers. This was at 4:00pm on a Saturday afternoon, not exactly prIme time. I blame the management for running an inefficient restaurant. We asked out after seeing all this. They have to be losing a whole bunch of potential oF potential money and customers by running an inefficient process. Hire some more people!! We liked coming here in as we have been in the neighborhood for over 40 years, longer than what Applebee's have been in business in Mentor. read more

We came here for dinner tonight to celebrate my husband's birthday and the service was horrible. The waitress disappeared numerous times and the food was mediocre at best. We had to ask for silverware, napkins and refills from other servers we had to flag down. My meal was disappointing. The cedar salmon with maple mustard glaze doesn't actually come with spinach like the description and photo in the menu suggests. I was informed by the manager that it's merely a "garnish". So the 6 wilted leaves of spinach hiding under my over-cooked, fishy-tasting, most-likely previously frozen salmon weren't officially there as part of the meal. After commenting about it to the waitress, she looked at me with the "what do you want me to do about it" look. About 5 minutes later, she returned with an appetizer plate with about 10 steamed leaves of spinach on it. The broccoli was mushy and over cooked. The baked potato was simply that. I would have been embarrassed serving that plate to someone. My husband said his burger was ok. The spinach dip tasted ok, but the ramekin was half full and it looked like it had been sitting there for a while. There is zero pride taken into the way things are plated or delivered. For an $82 check, I could have gone somewhere else for shitty food and crappy service. It was such a painful experience all around. We will not be returning. read more

Used to be one of our favorite places because of all the choices. Well that definitely changed ! Poor waitress was doing the waiting and bartending. Overheard her say they have lost all their employees. Food was terrible ! Husband had a cheeseburger and fries. Fries were left over and burger tasted bad. Food is food no matter where you go but my husband and I will always frequent local establishments based on service. On our recent visit to Applebee's we could not applaud them more on their service.
