Went here twice during my weeklong, staying in downtown Cleveland and receive consistently good food and service on both experiences. On both experiences, the staff greeted us immediately and we're very friendly and welcoming. Both servers that I experienced during my visit visits were friendly and very helpful to explain the menu and drink options. The burgers were fantastic each time, in fact, the second time it was even better because I got the smash burger....and now that's my new favorite burger! Fries were very good, but I got onion rings the second visit and they were even better. This is the second location of this franchise that I have tried and so far they are dead on consistent. We hadn't tried Wahlburgers but heard a lot about it on TV. It didn't disappoint. Staff was friendly and checked on us several times. Place was very clean. We tried the double decker cheeseburger as a starting point to see how it stacks up all the other burger joints. We were pleasingly surprised as the burgers were cooked to perfection and service was fast! Wahlburger did his homework and research very well! The burgers were topped with what they call "government cheese". It had a beautiful melt and was an excellent topping. The burgers had a perfect crispness but super moist and soft inside. The pickle chips had a nice thickness and the bun was nice and soft. It came with fries or tots. Fries were hot and lightly salted. Reasonably priced and a great variety of toppings to choose from. Usually, restaurant ratings push me away from places but I couldn't tell you why this location is the 3.5 stars it is. Unfortunately I have to take away two stars for lack of cleanliness. Upon entering the restaurant and being seated, all chairs at our table were dirty with food scraps/ crumbs. After dinner, I went to the bathroom and there were greasy finger marks al over the stall doors, toilet paper dispenser, and the hand dryer and there was dust everywhere. It definitely told me that the space hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in a while. Otherwise, I'll say that I absolutely loved my food. I love burgers. I've tried a lot of different kinds. This got to be the best. Service was really quick. My daughter doesn't like any thing but a patty on her burger but Wahlburgers got her order correct. We went before a Cavs game, very easy to find. When we walked in we were immediately seated. I love Wahlburgers. I once even had my husband drive me two hours to Philadelphia just to visit one (and boy do we miss that Philly location). This location has the same great food, atmosphere (this NKOTB fan loves the music), and menu choices. Unfortunately some thing was just missing from the normal 5 star I would throw down. Service was kind, but oh so slow (maybe they are short staffed?). The real kicker was how filthy the bathroom was. It really concerns me any time I go into a restaurant and the bathroom is gross. We had the fried pickles appetizer which was phenomenal. Our burgers were so delicious but could use a more durable bun that doesn't absorb all the juices making it soggy. Because of the soggy bun I sadly I had to deduct a star. Our service was good and we have no complaints there. They were quick and polite. The urinal is set up for you to take an 'L' to the door once it busts you in the back as the next person walks in and you piss all over yourself while getting beat up by a door. There is only one Wahlburgers in Cleveland, so there no-chain rule! This was quite a treat. I got myself a double decker burger with a Frappe (a New England style milkshake). My server was real nice and included an order of small fries to let me try them. Pair it with some Wahlsauce and they taste fantastic. The burger is decent but messy. As for the Frappe, it reminded me of a Wendy's Frosty. Only unlike a Frosty, the Frappe gradually becomes more and more a milkshake as you work your way down. The reward is well, rewarding. For a cheap and easy lunch, stop by. When I visit Boston, I will definitely be making my round back to Wahlburgers. read more

I was finally able to flag someone down (never saw the server) and asked what happened to my order. She came back and said their system reset and they lost tickets. It was my first time visiting Wahlburgers in Cleveland. I went during lunch time and they were pretty busy, but the service was quick and pleasant. We were seated right away and the servers were attentive and nice. It was probably a bad decision on my part to come to a burger restaurant and order chili. The chili had a small strand of hair in it. I ignored this because I didn't want to make it a big issue and send it back to the kitchen. The chili itself had good taste to it, but it wasn't hot. It was lukewarm at best. It seems like the pot of chili was probably sitting out all day and had the chance to cool down. I was disappointed that it wasn't properly heated before being served. The menu said that the chili would be served with crispy tortilla strips, but it was only served with 2 packs of salted crackers. That disappointed me too. Next time I come back, I will be getting a burger for sure--after all, that's what Wahlburgers is known for. The thing that saved this from being a 2-star review is the tater tots. The parmesan truffle tots was AMAZING! Perfectly crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Each tot was seasoned and coated perfectly. Each bite of the tots was heavenly. I can see why people recommend that you always go for the tater tots when you go to Wahlburgers. The tots were fresh and hot, and it was served with a side of delicious aioli dipping sauce. Good burgers. Really good buns. The wahl sauce is excellent, just the right amout of spices that goes with the burgers or dipping sauce. I found a bottle at Meijer that they sell, great on sandwiches too. They are smaller burger patties and when we asked our server, he did not know the weight. They do have doubles if you need more. My only complaints and maybe it was a bad day for the cook but we asked to get medium cook. All med well to well. Still very good. And the thin onion rings were not cooked enough. Sweet potato tots were delicious. There was a double burger on bread that looked really good also. I liked that the burgers had crispy edges. Will definitely be back. read more
