We had family passing through from Florida and we decided to meet at this restaurant for a nice visit before they drove to their next destination. My only advice is if you want to actually visit and have a good conversation, the music is pretty loud so by the end of the evening you feel like you've been screaming the whole time! We also tried the grilled salmon which was excellent cooked to perfection & the grilled shrimp skewers were large and well seasoned First time I tried Texas Roadhouse. Was pleasantly surprised. When my boyfriend's step mother didn't like her steak the waitress dealt with it very professionally and good, she apologized, was friendly, and then got a replacement as soon as possible. First of all, it took 45 minutes to be seated, and our server said "happy black history month N Words." Me and my BLACK family of 10, were APPALLED by her wording. I wanted to give this place another chance and I would say this recent visit would be 5 stars if my experience was just related to Jonathan's service. There is always an extra bag going home with us, whether we order to dine in or carry out. I cannot say enough about the catfish. Always fried perfectly and they definitely offer a nice portion for the price, compared to other places I get dinners. No a fan of the caesar salad, but that's minor, and the other sides are good. We were there yesterday (Friday) around 3:30/4:00 p.m. Without doubt - never again on a Friday or Weekend. Had been there several times before and it was great yet it was an early afternoon, during the week - early dinner. Back to yesterday - had to wait for about 1/2 hour or so which by the parking lot we expected. Although we did see others coming after us being seated thus had to go to the counter, making the inquiry. Funny, suddenly an immediate seat become available. It was just a simple no pressure ask - polite. To our surprise, we think besides being right near the bathroom, door to the kitchen or standing facing the crowd at the doorway - this probably was the "Never ask - just sit and shaddap" seating. We were off on, what appears to be - the children's table in a dark, windy corner. The table was a seating for 3 benched with a chair pushed up against it for a forth. We were only two. The table, when you sat in the bench pushed up against the lower edge of your rib cage and unmovable. Worse - all tables and seating surrounding our table were about 6-8 inches higher than our area, making you feel frankly weird - like you were in some funky child's seating. Moving on - we were served by the Seater with a basket of buns although by the looks around us, with no side plates. Thankfully we are married and not on a first date otherwise highly embarrassing having to eat out of a mutual basket with no opportunity for table manners. We waited for a bit for our Server - even wondering if we had one. LOL. Finally showed and we ordered our meals entirely. We knew what we wanted. Never again - their sweet tea. It was a glass of sugar with water - maybe they waved a tea bag over the top. Definitely undrinkable. Then we waited and waited for our warm Caesar salad's to arrive and ahead of our appetizer none the less. The Cactus bloom is always good. Crunchy and delicious as are their rolls and dips. Next we waited for our mains. Ah....the steak fries with cheese were a bit overcooked. Like putting them in a microwave and wishing you hadn't. The brown gravy very weak. I had the BBQ chicken which I have had before and loved it. This serving tepid with far too much sauce. Took 3/4 home for the dogs (washing off the sauce first). Other half had a New York strip $26.00 w baked potato (all dressed) appeared like both may have sat awhile. Although cooked medium raw - it came less than tepid to the touch. It appeared it should have been put in a bun and sold as an overpriced steak sandwich and not a main feature. Bottom-line - our visit this time was highly disappointing. The place was noisy, seating more than uncomfortable - not even for a group of children next to their parents table. Food was very below par compared to the pricing. Seat staff obviously needs retraining - pitch seemed canned, hurried and too busy to provide proper table wear for dining. Our Server - at one point we looked around from our table wondering where she was as it had been awhile - no signs of her for about 1/2 hour then poof here is your cold food - enjoy! Never once came to ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. Just do we need boxes, hear is your tab - pay here and left. Here is your tip - we customized it for the experience. Enjoy! Would we go back - No. Regardless of it being busy - well no excuse for the experience whatsoever. The same check as our previous visits so the experience should have been just a mirror with more in the restaurant. read more
