Overcooked steak, way undercooked veggies. So not worth what I paid. How disappointing.

I was visiting from out of town and stopped in for dinner on a Monday night. I was part of a party of four. We were seated fairly quickly but that is where things went downhill. The server took our order and delivered quickly the non-alcoholic drinks. Two salads arrived in a timely fashion but we had to ask for our beers. The appetizer took way too long (over 45 mins for chips). At that point we mentioned to our server we were going to be running into a time crunch if our food was not our shortly. After 1 hour and 40 minutes, our food started to come out. My sister's steak was cold and not even cooked to medium rare (she requested medium). My steak came out and was the consistency of shoe leather (steak knife barely cut it) and the veggies looked a week old. The manager took some of the bill off but because of time constraints, I ended up with no meal and no one enjoyed themselves at dinner. The server did his best but at that point things were too far gone. It was obvious that something was very wrong in the kitchen as the Manager was at visiting about 5 tables in our area of the restaurant. Staff is rude. Offer carside to go on the app but staff refuses to bring out food and doesn't bother to call to tell you this. After sitting for 20 mins and getting harassed by mall security, I went in for my food they tried to hand me the wrong order. Then gave me an attitude like it was my fault and should known better. After calling corporate I got a call from the store was told I would get a refund yet money was never returned to my card. WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN read more

It's just like every other Applebees you go to. The food is okay, the service is okay, and the prices are the same as everywhere else. Nothing special here. read more

When visiting Oneonta, I had a late lunch at Applebee's with my mom and grandmother. My grandmother is 91 years old and in a wheelchair, and when she used the bathroom, the handicapped stall was woefully inadequate. It was almost impossible for her to fit in the stall with her wheelchair, or move around. There was also no toilet paper. I know this is a chain, but please remember your elderly and disabled customers. Handicapped customers beware!! read more

My husband and I ate here last weekend after suffering with the Neptune Diner twice, ..........both times incredibly disappointed with food and service. Applebees was a welcomed change. The waiter was very personable and very attentive and the food was great. I would have given a 5 star except we had to wait a long time to get our check. A little annoying, but he was so friendly, we had to forgive him. He was very busy and we understood. We will definitely eat here again. read more

My husband and I thought we would give them a try again. But to our dismay we were once again irritated. First off when we walked through the door the hostess was packing up to go so we were not acknowledged right away which obviously set the tone. We waited then we were seated.The server started off right away with telling us that there were only 2 of them on the floor and that there was a tsingle table ahead of us and then she walked away with out even at least offering us a drink. Which by the way is the proper thing to do.She came back to the table many times and we still were not asked for our drink order. Finally a fellow who we had no idea who he was finally asked if he could get us a drink. After too many returns to our table to inform us that we still needed to wait she took our order and proceeded to tell us way too much info about staff issues. Then we finally got our meal she rushed us by giving us our check in a hurry and forgot to ask if we would like dessert. When we were ready to leave and pay the bill she informed us that they had no cash register and then she proceeded to pull a wad of cash out of her pocket to tell us she was the register not very professional not to mention very risky and unsafe to let customers know what should be kept under wraps for their and the companys protection. We've been to this place more than a dozen times. It's gone downhill a lot. The men's room was disgusting. The service was fair, really, until the end when the waitress forgot to bring me my coffee, though it made its way onto my check. My wife drinks tea and its typical for the sugar container to have only sweetener. Typical. The men's room hasn't been cleaned thoroughly in a long time. From the moment we walked in it was more then obvious that our party of 8 was not welcomed. After asking for a table we were told that it was going to be a 35 min wait due to the fact that we had a wheel chair and would also need a high chair. After stating that we only needed the wheel chair to get my 94 year old grandmother to the table the hostess said well it's still going to be a long wait. Please keep in mind she says this as there are 4 empty tables and two tables getting up and leaving as she said this. I stated to the hostess that we didn't need the high chair we would hold the baby she laughed and said ur still going to wait. When I looked at the hostess and said if you want we can leave she said ok and then started laughing at us. I would never return to this place again and believe that the hostess should maybe find a different job. Obviously she feels that discriminating against elderly handicapped people is funny. When I asked for the manager Sean stated that he didn't deal with that and I could call back on Monday and talk to the general manager. Way to handle that one "Sean the manager". I do plan on following up with not only the general manager I wanted to call corporate but was told by Sean there is no number for that. They should be ashamed of themselves instead of there praise. read more

I will NEVER eat at Applebee's again - especially at the Oneonta Franchise. After a long 12 hour drive from Knoxville Tennessee in a rented Uhaul van - bone tired and ravenously hungry - I agreed to eat at Applebee's in Oneonta on the suggestion of my son. We waited 10 minutes (expected, no problem) and were seated in a booth. The birthday song that occurred at the other end of the restaurant was jarring, but not unexpected. I read the menu cover to cover and found nothing for a heart conscious customer (I'm a diagnosed CHF patient). I ordered the Green Goddess Wedge, intending to scrape off the dressing to reduce the sodium and fat. The salad was half core and stem - inedible - woody and the salad equivalent of bones in your sirloin steak (I photographed it, and intend to post it to all review sites). I complained and asked our server to convey this to the chef. Nothing. No apology. No offer of a salad replacement. Any chef worth their salt would have talked to the customer and offered a replacement. There are only four explanations: 1. The server did not convey my message to the cook staff. 2. The cook staff ignored my message. 3. Applebee's does not allow chefs to directly interact with customers. 4. Applebee's does not employ real chefs, just corporate managers. All four scenarios are awful, insensitive, and just bad service. read more
