Started off with a nice simple dinner and ended in disaster. Manzbay, known as the owner of the rcc kei office decided not to give me his gravcomp tune. This caused me and my family lots of distress. Would not reccomend

Oriental Shrimp (instead of chicken) Salad
    Rachel C.

Came here with a friend who said they have the BEST shrimp and OMGOODNESS was she right about the shrimp!! So tender and juicy and crisp with the most mouthwatering spices on top. I ordered the Tex-Mex Shrimp bowl and she ordered the Oriental salad with Shrimp swapped in for the chicken with a side of cheesy broccoli and red skin mashed potatoes. The broccoli was a bit heavy for my taste with the thick pull of cheesy gravy it was almost floating in but the red skin mashed potatoes were good - just wish there was a bigger scoop of them! Obviously the best part of the Tex-Mex Shrimp bowl was the shrimp on top!! I really would have loved everything about it except for the fact that the guacamole on top was not fresh. I usually love guacamole but the kind they used had a weird taste so I found myself eating around it. I would have preferred if they just used fresh avocados. Also, the bowl they served that meal in was really quite small for being an entree greater than 10$ and so I feel like they could have at least added more rice and beans and maybe even corn to make it more filling as a meal. I am not even that big of a girl or have that big of an appetite but I was honestly starving after that dish even with the additional sides. I liked the waitress we had although I am not going to lie that you can definitely tell a lot of the staff there really weren't interested in being there and made no attempt to hide that fact which was very unlike the commercials. I also asked multiple waitresses multiple times to get a to-go cup for my friend to take her tea with her after we already paid and it seemed harder than it had to be considering the fact that it wasn't even busy and no one I talked to looked even slightly rushed.

My favorite salad from Applebees: The Texmex salad
    Jill T.

This is an updated review: So I went back to this location to see if there was an improvement. I was with a friend and my daughter. I got the same order, The Texmex salad which is my favorite, my friend got a grilled chicken with the side of mashed potatoes and vegie and may daughter got a chicken platter and 3 lemonade for our drinks. I forgot the name of our server which is too bad but she was absolutely fantastic! She checked on us multiple times, asked how was our food and if there was anything else we needed. We also got a lemonade refill without asking when they saw our glasses were empty, they were attentive. Our food was great, the rice in my salad was not overcooked (it was overcooked and mushy the last time), we had a starter which was also good, it was a way better experience definitely than the very first time. Will come back again!

    Appetizer sampler

This is my favorite Applebee's location. The food and service is always great!! The fishbowl drink and the classic appetizer sampler are my usuals. I have had a lot of different menu items and everything that I have had was great. We will definitely continue to come here!!

$2 Sam Adams as part of Oktoberfest! Bring it on Do you need any other reason to get here ? These guys price their food just right - A 3 course meal for 11.99 is brilliant - a salad , an appetizer and a main ( the salad and appetizer is a smaller portion than regular) - more than enough for 1 and at times enough for 2 ! The kids meals have been updated with some better options provided now ( such as the quesadillas) We added chicken onto the Caesar salad ( $4.5 for the additional chicken) - it was comfort food. We always enjoy the buffalo wings at Applebee's - the sauce is real good and the celery and the ranch hit it out of the park ! We tried the Shrimp wok which was sweet and tangy - not too heavy on the palette- flavorful and easy on the stomach . The wait staff was great and attentive . It surely is your neighborhood grill !

The men's restroom. I've seen nicer but I've also seen way worse.

Highlights of the Applebee's men's restroom: -It had good lighting. There is no denying the visibility in there. I didn't need a sherpa to guide me to the urinal like I do in Olive Garden. -The flushing power on both the urinal and the toilet was very solid. -The sink had good water pressure. The bad: -The floor was very wet. I hadn't prepared to waddle through a bayou-like swamp. -It was very basic. The soap dispenser needed refilled. It took at least four squirts to get soap on my palm. -There is only one sit-down toilet so be prepared to make some friends while you wait your turn. Side note: It took 20 minutes for the waiter to ask what we wanted to drink and everything we ordered was overcooked.

    I ate the Steak first

I have been here more than once, but I think I will not return. On this trip Full Rack of Ribs,Steak Salad, and Mack and Cheese with Bacon and Chicken Fingers all was to go (take away). They should have called them chicken pinkies. That was the worst Mac and Cheese I have ever tried to eat. I would rather eat Kraft Microwave cups. Look at the photo and you tell me. The ribs were chain ribs, at least the lettuce wasn't rusty.

Its a decent serving size for an appetizer. I enjoyed it. The nachos were surprisingly tasty. When they came out I was unsure about them because any other time I've ever ordered a loaded type nacho they're, how do I explain it, more colorful I guess. Usually its like bacon and American cheese, guac, pico, etc., but these were just shades of white and green. I wish I could've finished them but the portion was quite a bit for 1 person. My only gripe would be the chicken. It reminded me of the meat you get in a launchable. I think I would rather prefer a crispy diced chicken. But that's just me. The other 2 didn't have any complaints about the Rival Stix or the burger. The Chicken Tenders were said to not have much flavor in the breading. The person who ordered them didn't care for the breading. I was also tempted into some sort of creme brulee donut I think. It was really good but I was already so stuffed from the nachos that I couldn't finish it. Its for the sweet tooth folks. The general space is all sports themed as expected. Quite spacious. Seems like the perfect place to come after work for a beer...and nachos!

The burger was juicy and the Rival Sauce was some kind of aioli that added some zip to it. The fries were crispy but not overcooked. The Great White Hype pizza was basic. Nothing outstanding, but not bad either. I have been to this location three times and I would say the food has been hit-or-miss. Service has also been spotty. During lunch (my first trip), our waitress was very attentive, drinks were consistently refilled, and our food came out promptly. The second time, I had to flag down our waitress quite several times to get anything. Nothing to complain about when it comes to the prices. Everything is standard and they have some solid happy hour offerings that extend until 6:30pm while others start after 7pm. On a scale of 1-5: Food - 3 Service - 3.5 Price - 4.5

We started with the bruschetta appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. For dinner, I had the chicken marsala, and the portion was huge with incredible flavor. My husband ordered the filet and lobster tail, and both were cooked perfectly. We were seated on the porch, where we enjoyed a beautiful view and a great breeze that made the evening even more enjoyable. Between the excellent food, outstanding service, and relaxing atmosphere, it was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. We will definitely be back!

His son took me to my table. The waitress was attentive and very friendly. I ordered the honey pecan crusted salmon and opted for carrots and broccoli as my side. The waitress brought bread and a garlic/oil dish to dip the bread in. The garlic/oil was so yummy, I could've just ate the bread without any dinner! I was also surprised to see I got a large portion of food when the plate came out! Most places these days you don't get much bang for your buck. The salmon was delicious, and so were the carrots and broccoli. My soda was flat and I asked the waitress about it and she fixed it. I ordered the flourless chocolate torte for dessert and liked that too. I wonder what the ingredients were, because there was a bit of spice to it that I couldn't quite place my finger on. The only improvements I think could be made are the ambience was loud. There was a large party in the dining room next to me and they were a loud family with children running and screaming all over the place (I understand this isn't within the realm of control for the restaurant). That itself wasn't unpleasant, it would just be nice if there was some strategic sound dampening. On their website I had signed up for a $10 coupon that never came in my email (not sure if I'm supposed to wait days for it...?). Another thing I noticed on their website is that they charge $10 for a split plate. I'm assuming this means if you come as two people and decide to order one plate of food but split it, they charge for that. That seems really weird. People shouldn't be charged for splitting their food, if that's what that is. They also charge you a transaction fee for using a credit card. Next time I'm in Pittsburgh I'll be coming back. It was nice to eat something that wasn't a burger and fries, since there are so many of those types of places in Pittsburgh.
