I just had the absolute worst experience tonight here at Applebee's. When I ordered my food I got the Pretzel sticks and chicken quesadilla. I wait a very long time... long enough that all my friends were half way through there meal. After I said I didn't want the quesadilla anymore since at this point Everyone was basically done with there food. The manager gave the quesadillas that were gonna be for me, to my friends instead of giving them to me out of consideration. After that happened, the manager came up to me and started talking smack, saying why should I give you free quesadillas... but just gave my boys free quesadillas. Thanks a lot Nancy. Went in to this Applebee's a few days ago and was very disappointed with my server Virginia. Every time she came to the table I got a whiff of some God awful odor that I could even smell through my mask. Every time she spoke to and my family and I, she would remove her mask to talk. This caused copious amounts of spit to spew from her mouth and even though I expressed my concerns, she continued to remove her mask to speak to us. She then went on to say how "masks didn't work" and we were "sheep" for thinking they do. I feel as a server in a restaurant during Covid times it is extremely unprofessional to speak on such things while serving a table. I will never be coming back to this Apple bees. read more

Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The food there wasn't even edible by the time we got our food, which took forever by the way. Don't even get me started on our server. Virginia was extremely rude and almost seemed irritated because we were charged more than once for our food and when we asked why she simply took our check and huff & puffed and stomped away like a child. Once our check was brought back to our table sweet Virginia was rolling her eyes and was given a fair tip for the way me and my friends were being treated (didn't receive one). The restaurant is NOT following COVID guidelines at all. I saw multiple servers taking their masks on and off. No, when I walk in alone I don't want to be pushed to sit at the bar, I don't want to be shoved in the smallest table you can find with the entire restaurant empty at 2:30pm. And I don't want to have to cash myself out when paying these prices for food, the electronic device in the table is nasty, looking at it I can clearly see the snot from every grubby fingered kid that has played with it. We had such a wonderful lunch one day here we thought the next day we'd order delivery. The deep dish pizza dough tasted old, tough, and tasteless. Too much dough for the middle pizza sise. BEWARE!! If you order the potato "skins", these ARE NOT skins at all but, pizza dough filled with mashed potatoes, little bits of bacon and lightly sprinkled with cheese, bland and Disgusting!! We were so underwhelmed by this. We didn't even want to give 1 , wishing we could leave negative stars. What a waste of money. The Caesar salad looked thrown together hastily, not tossed. I've been to Applebee's before but have never bother to write a review. I came here with my parents after a shopping jaunt down across the border. We sat at the bar to avoid having to wait for a table. Our bartender/waitress was very friendly and accommodating. She served us drinks right away, and came back once we were ready to order. I ordered the Honey BBQ Chicken Sandwich, whereas dad ordered the trio appetizer (two orders of traditional wings and mozzarella sticks) as did mom (but she opted for two orders of the chicken wonton tacos and the pretzel with beer cheese sauce). My sandwich was flavourful and juicy, mind you I would suggest using a sturdier bun; I struggled to keep it together while it quickly fell apart in my hands. And I got maybe 10 french fries on my plate. But all in all, it hit the spot. I was lucky enough to try a mozzarella stick (yum) and a bit of mom's chicken wonton taco; I liked the contrast between the tender chicken and crunch of the wonton and coleslaw. But what I would go back for HANDS-DOWN is the pretzel with beer cheese sauce. I am in love with the doughy goodness that is the pretzel stick and the cheesy goodness of the beer cheese sauce. I am a huge fan of beer (mind you it's pretty faded and isn't really noticed; maybe using a stronger stout would enhance the flavour) and cheese, and marrying the two is a brilliant idea. We've been here twice and both times our meal with less than good. I've been visting the Applebees chain for years and this restaurant is worse than most. The waitresses both times were friendly but not attentive. The food was downright depressing- colorless, almost tasteless, and a little mushy. We tried fish and steak the first time and burgers the second time. Try somewhere else. There's a lot better. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at the food quality considering this is a chain restaurant. The chicken tortilla soup was so fresh, flavorful and spicy. It tasted home made in a nicely spiced brothy base with generous chunks of tender chicken topped with just the right amount of super thin crispy tortilla strips. I'm super picky about soup and this passed the test! I also ordered a classic cheeseburger. It came with the basic LTO along with a few thin slices of pickles and a side of fries.I substituted onion rings for the fries. The missing star is because the onion rings were not to my liking. They were not battered but had a hard crispy breadcrumb coating. Also, medium is the least rare they will cook a burger. I ordered it as rare as they would cook it but it came out fully cooked with no trace of pink. However, their saving grace is that the beef was still juicy and it was perfectly seasoned. Everyone else enjoyed their food. Items ordered were clam chowder, fish and chips, pasta Alfredo, spicy chicken and shrimp and a few desserts. The service was friendly, attentive and professional. This location is now one of my favorite chain restaurants. read more

Yesterday my brisket tacos came to me cold so they had to re do them then they came back to me even colder the second time so the manager made them personally herself. Today I ordered food on the phone thinking it was half off apps so I placed my whole order only to find out you have to dine in, so I decided to go eat inside instead to get my half off app and come to find out it's only certain apps which they didn't tell me until after I already eaten my meal but the Mountain Dew was great! This place has really gone down hill in the last couple of years. I used to love going here but not anymore. their service was super slow my last visit. It took over 20 minutes to get our appetizer and 40 minutes plus to get our meal. It was not even very busy. Then my oriental chicken salad arrived with maybe 3 almond slivers and a coupe of the crunchy sticks. On a plus note when I mentioned it to the waiter she brought me over a nice additional serving of it, but the salad was not nearly as good as it used to be. WTF? The menu looks great. Lots of selection. They look like they specialize in steak... Wood fired USDA prime. Sign me up. Got an 8 Oz medium rare. Wow. They should not cut or cook steak. Not a touch of red in that sad thin little cut. Sides were also not very good. Was with family. Kids had cheesy Bread pizza which was awful.. Tested it and understood why they could not finish. One of the worst meals I've ever had. The server was excellent, but evidently the person who cooked my steak - twice - isn't capable of cooking a steak without turning it into shoe leather. Not one hint of pink even, in what was supposed to be a medium rare steak. And they did it twice!! Given that most of the food seems to have just been taken out of the freezer and heated up, they probably don't get much experience with actual cooking, although taking a steak off the grill before it's horribly overdone doesn't seem like much of a test of skills. The server took the cost of my dinner off the bill, but I don't think that just not being expected to pay for a meal that I couldn't even eat made up for spending hours there and leaving hungry, or the fact that my husband couldn't really enjoy his meal while I just sat and waited. It was a miserable experience. And not only did the manager never come to the table at any point to address this situation, I have written to them twice now and gotten absolutely no response, other than the automatic email promising that they'll get back to you in 3-5 days. The one star is just because the server was great (and you can't give 0 stars anyhow!). He was very personable and professional, but he really should move on to a business that warrants his skills. read more

I used to love this place when it first came to Plattsburgh, but now it just crap. The food is never cooked how it should be. The portions are getting smaller while the prices are going up.
