This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at an Applebee's. We came in, sat at the bar, and waited over 10 minutes without anyone taking our order or even acknowledging us. We decided to speak with Lee and asked if we could get a table. We also politely asked her to let our server know that we were ready to order because we were very hungry. She said she would. Instead, she started cleaning the table behind us and then walked back to the bar, looking at us like she couldn't care less. No one ever came to take our order. After wasting almost 20 minutes of our time without receiving any service, we decided to leave. Terrible customer service, poor communication, and a complete lack of concern for customers. Stopped in after bowling to get something to eat since the bowling alley closes the snack bar @8pm. Sat at the bar Mel was our server we try to always get her she is a great waitress been here for 14 years at leas. So, since we couldn't order any food at the bowling ally there employees wanted to go home we came here plus the food is better and the prices are too. I had some kind of new watermelon drink, it was ok after a few drinks it tasted better must have been the alcohol? Ordered the new potato waves to eat, they are slices of potatos about 1/4 thick deep fried then covered with cheese packed until melted then through on some bacon and served with ranch. A family lunch and a great time. My sister-in-law and I had the apps special. A variety of things you can choose. Among which was the pretzel and dip. Too much to finish in one sitting. This is a fun a tasty choice. I also had strawberry lemonade. The staff was very nice, the place was not overly crowded, and the restrooms were clean. Can't beat that! I went to Applebee's on January 24, 2026, in Prince Frederick MD and ordered their cheesy hamburger, a new item. I took one bite and took a fry and dipped it in the cheese and what did I find but a nasty hair. I asked the bartender to tell the manager assuming he would come over and address the situation but that did not happen. I did find the manager, and he did not seem really concerned. I asked that he take off the appetizer since he was not offering to do anything. I had stopped going to this once a while ago because their bathroom was disgusting but I thought I would give them another chance. Never again. read more

To be clear, this review is for the service and location. You know the kind of food you are getting when you choose a chain restaurant. We love going here for the service, ambiance, and family friendly atmosphere. We have never had a bad experience. No matter how busy they are, we have always had attentive and personable servers. The decor is all local and the food is a great price. I love how accessible and accommodating they are for children and have no qualms returning time and time again. I got my last refill on all you can eat after I got desert which was placed 15 minutes before dessert. April 21 update. Stopped in for lunch about 30 minutes after they opened. No coffee brewed, so had to wait 15 minutes for a weak and tasteless cup of Joe. Bathroom was already filthy, if it was ever cleaned the evening before. Worst of all was the small, uncomfortable two person booth. No way I'd let them seat us there again. Also had to listen to the inane conversation of one of the teenage servers who kept coming over to hang out with a friend seated nearby. But, at least the food was ok and our server did a decent job. I have had meals often at this restaraunt. My wife and I and her son had dinner there last night. She and I had steak dinners and her son had the bourbon chicken and shrimp. Ours came with brocolli and mashed potatoes. The most outstanding part about this meal over the many we have eaten here is it was served sizzling on a cast iron plate. Ok, so basically nobody expects great food and service at Applebee's. But at least 3 times this restaurant has messed up my order. In every case, the problem seems to be a complete failure to read the order and just don't put sauce on my boneless wings, put the sauce "on the side". It's simple, yes I know you're busy, but take a minute and read the order. I guess I just need to stop getting food at this location. It's sad because it's on my wife's way home. The hostess was a bit over the top with welcoming us, bringing us to the table, explaining the membership club and thanking us a third or fourth time for our business. Oooooookay, you can go now thanks! I chose the steak from the light menu. The stuffed mushroom was the winner here. The steak was decently tasty, if a little tough. But who goes to Applebee's for steak? No real complaints other than maybe some A1 would have been nice but by the time the waitress came by to ask how it was, it was almost gone. Don't Go...Wife and I stopped in despite our better intuition. The chain promotes their "Unlimited boneless wings" which I ordered (Mistake #1)...it comes with a poor imitation of Cole slaw served in a thimble, and coldish greasy fries, after the first order, you're limited to 5 more B/wings per re-up, but NO Cole slaw, & cold fries (THANKS)! For years I refused to go to an Applebees because of the bad food but we were in a new town and the choices were limited so we tried this Applebees. The first few times we went it was great. The service good, food on point. Then this past week we went and the food was not good at all. The fries were cold and tasted old, the wings were not as warm as we would have liked. Not the best service today at all. My family was seated in the table section to the left. My wife and chikd coukdnt even get to thier seats wuthout us moving the entire table . The hostess seemed bothered that we asked for a both. Waitress appeared new and barely came out. I am admittedly not a big fan of chain restaurants, though I have been frequenting them more and more often since my life became more suburbia based. This was the second time my fiance and I dined at this Applebee's location, and both times we were very satisfied! This time around I ordered the cowboy burger, which has onion straws, white cheddar and BBQ sauce. (It comes with bacon, too, but I don't eat pork.) We generally try to eat pretty healthy, so we take our cheat days seriously (as sad as that is!) Both times we have come here we were not disappointed. The burger patties pack a lot of flavor and look made by hand. They are definitely not the type of burger that you get at a lot of other chain restaurants that are flavorless and taste frozen and thawed in a microwave. Mine came out really kind of sloppy (as you can see in the photo), but that's not a huge complaint. The customer service here is great. The staff is so, so attentive. Our waitress, Aleeya, was super friendly and was a real pleasure to be around! And they had really good live music, which we weren't even expecting. Evidently this guy named Gary Gibson comes all the way to Prince Frederick from Nashville periodically, and he can belt out some country hits! My biggest criticism is that the food temperatures are not consistent. When we came last time (in December) my fiance's fries were cold and he had to return them. This time we ordered a mozzarella stick appetizer which was piping hot, as was (surprisingly) the side of BBQ sauce that I asked for. But our fries were just a notch above lukewarm. The restaurant is always SO busy on weekend evenings, though, so that probably explains it. A highly recommended place for a night out in Calvert County! read more

This has to be the worst place ever. I just stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes. Bartender stares at us but never says a word, not we aren't seating anymore customers because we close in an hour, not just moment someone will be with you soon. There were customers seated and eating, (only two tables but still there none the less). After being glared at and ignored for 10 full minutes my husband and I decided to leave. Now I've worked for Applebee's and I know their policies, procedures and their mission. The corporate office would be appalled at how we were unwelcomed. My girlfriend and I visited the Applebees location in Prince Frederick Maryland The doors were unlocked and we sat down at the bar. 5 minutes of waiting and the bartender, who was fraternizing at a table with customers, finally made her way over to us and tell us they were closed.... While there were other customers sitting at the bar and at tables at midnight on Friday night, as I'm sitting here writing this review it is now 1 o'clock am and they have still not "officially" closed because I returned to retrieve my wallet and I walked in (door still unlocked) and the guy at the bar had a fresh new beer, TVs still on. I'm conflicted about my rating here. It's just an Applebees. The food was exactly what I expected. The service was okay. This Applebees is the poster child for mid-range chain restaurants. Then a young lady passed out on top of me. You would have thought it was a TV ER. I'm a first responder and since she was lying on me I could check vitals. A nearby diner was an EMT so I stepped back. The restaurant staff helped move people back, called 911, settled the young lady's friends in an adjacent booth, and generally provided excellent support. Everything turned out fine the young lady (nothing to eat all day). The restaurant staff and management responded well. An extra star for that. read more

Ordered chicken tenders and fries to be delivered. Fries were cold, tenders were dried out, and no honey mustard. I called the restaurant and the idiot waitress who ordered said "you didn't indicate you wanted honey mustard". I said the order says it comes with it. Then they and doordash give me a run around over who gives the refund. I had previously said I would never deal with them after a previous bad experience but I gave them another chance. They blew it.
