Stopped in today for lunch. I must say that this was one of the better experiences that I've had from an Applebee's. We ordered off the two for twenty five menus which came with an appetizer. I enjoyed the packers decor on the wall. The mozzarella sticks were hot and stretchy. The tomatoes and onions in my dish seemed a little over cooked, but it was still a really good lunch. We also got the mac and cheese which was super yummy. Our server was super fast and friendly. She greeted us with a smile and got the order right which has been a rare occasion for most places that I've eaten at in the past few months. I would definitely come back for lunch again and try other things at this location. Or I may come back to explore their happy hour menu. We waited OVER an hour for food. By the time it came we asked the manager for our bill and to take off the food items. We came from out of town, we were so excited to eat a late friendly dinner. We had 3 little ones and they waited so patiently. Our waitress gave us the wrong food after it came out and it was cold. The corn dogs for the kids frozen, the wings and tacos. COLD. It's not as good as it used to be, to be quite honest; the deals are good though; 2 entrees and an appitezer for $25

If only the food was as good as the service. Ordered the 12oz ribeye, medium rare, with steamed broccoli and garlicky green beans. The good: server was friendly and kept my soda glass full. She hit all the marks on service side of things. The bad: the veggie sides were lukewarm and overcooked. No crunch left. Zero. And a lot of the flavor departed with the last of the crunch. The ugly: The steak was terrible. Thinnest, widest ribeye I've ever seen. I'm not a butcher but I've eaten a lot of ribeye steaks and I'd swear this wasn't one. Too wide and lean. Cooked medium rare as ordered but at too low a heat so there's no sear and therefore lacks flavor. Hash marks probably from a ridged grill and only superficial. Results in a warm steak that's tough and chewy and what should be crispy delicious fat around the edges is just warm raw fat, inedible, and hard to cut away from the meat even with the supplied steak knife. Every time my wife and I go here we have amazing service and the food is always good and comes out at a good time. Many times the servers have gone above and beyond for us. Making sure our drinks are refilled, getting extra sauces, and when we when went in on our wedding night, the gave us a free dessert. Amazing experience. They also have the walls decorated with the local schools and landmarks which is really cool to see. read more

My food tasted like the "Bay Harbor" Yankee Candle. This Applebee's is unfortunately one of the more popular dining establishments in Superior. I saw the negative reviews but was really hoping for the best. I went there on a date, around 7pm on a Thursday, so it wasn't particularly busy and we were seated quickly. However, it all went downhill from there. I ordered the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp. When our food finally arrived, I was very disappointed. The shrimp was gelatinous, and the chicken was dry. And, as already stated, it all tasted like a candle. Our server was nice, but all the employees were fond of hiding in the back. When entering this establishment, we were verbally attacked via a student section, built up of some highly indifferent "girls". This encounter ended quickly, after reminding them of the brutal loss to rice lake just minutes before this engagement. The hostesses were very supportive of our achievement in defeating a school, of which they brought their rainbow flags along with. They quickly found us a group of tables, and efficiently brought out beverages to quench the thirsts of a team of students that had just finished yelling for 48 minutes. Quick shoutout to Teagan, Kayla, and Berkeley for making this experience out of this world. As for the group from superior, they left this welcoming establishment with another loss on the night. I'm still in shock, we just left this Applebee's- walked in the door at 8:15 PM, maybe 10-12 people in the bar area and 8 booths/tables tops in the rest of the restaurant had people seated. We asked for seating for two and among the sea of empty tables we were told that we would have to be put on a "wait list". WTF? The parking lot is half full. I said your almost empty, the hostess replies oh we have been really busy. What? You have paying customers in front of you - two people that want a quick meal and as we said no thanks and left we saw no train of cars entering the parking lot to fill all of your open tables . Overall this location is very disappointing. My boyfriend and I came in this weekend and the staff was very rude and unaware of the customers. There are obviously issues going on behind the scenes with coworkers getting along- Upon arrivals it seemed that 2 workers were in the middle of bashing one of their coworkers- who I saw crying later that day as well. They spoke behind eachother's backs in front of us, and didn't seem to care that they were hurting others while effecting their own business. Nice place, good service but the food is just average. I had a steak, it was cooked perfect but tough and stringy. The other in my party had the chicken strips and they were over cooked and dry. Baked potato and broccoli were excellent as we're fries. Prices were reasonable. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Vanessa the bartender was disrespectful and rude. She didn't know how much a beer was. She said she could not open the till to look. There is a frost bite drink that we asked questions about. She didn't have answers nor did she want to entertain the questions about the drink. She wanted to know if I "wanted one or not". How would I know if she cannot tell me what was in it?? She told me that my food would come out first because I only ordered "only an appetizer". Yet, it didn't. My friend got her pasta dinner before I got my app. They delivered my food without a napkin. They offered me no silverware. This is a clear representation of a bunch of kids running the show without a proper manager to address issues. If they spent as much time sipping and trying drinks as they could have servicing their customers, it would have been a far different review. So as I write this review, I did end up speaking to Amy M., who is a manager. I had seen her previously as a bartender. She is amazing and could teach Vanessa a thing or to about customer service. Yet sadly, maybe there is NO hope for Vanessa as we never saw her again.. thank goodness also for Sara.. . she brought us our food and acted interested in the fact of if we wanted a napkin or not etc. She saved the day!! read more

On the plus side, the food at Applebee's is a good cleanse option (much like sugar-free gummy bears from Haribo). On the negative side, I would rather not shit my pants after eating something. Also, the service is usually fine at this location. Applebee's seems to be one of the most popular restaurants in Superior, and I still can't fathom as to why. The food is absolutely atrocious and disgusting. Pretty much the only thing that is worth eating at this place is the mozzarella sticks, and that's saying a lot. I would rather eat at the food court at Target next door than step food into this establishment again. I suggest that you try one of the very limited local restaurants in Superior and give them some business instead of Applebee's, or at the very least go to Grizzly's. If you must eat at Applebee's, wear a diaper. Or, eat before you go and just drink your dinner. read more

It's a chain and as they say, "It is what it is." Not bad, not great, not memorable, not a place to avoid, nor a place to go out of your way to get to. The food is generally real consistent, again not great, but you get what you expect....kind of like going to Mc'Donald's but you get to have a beer with it. This isn't an indictment on this particular location because the staff is very nice, the place is clean, etc. It's just that it's like every other Applebee's in the country. I was interested in having a nice dinner with my wife and son who we don't get to see all that often any more, he was real hungry and wanted to go to Applebee's for dinner. We walked in and were seated right away, that was at 7pm. We got our drinks right away and ordered at the same time. After forty five min. the waiter finally came by and asked if we got our food yet, I could only just look dumb founded at this guy and wonder if you as my server have not brought me my food how would I've gotten it yet. At eight pm I had had enough of this bad service. My family was hungry so we just got up and went one block away to grizzley's and were served the same meal in twenty min. The things I found wrong with this place was that the server justin did not seam to know what was going on, the lady manager that walk by my table several times would not even make eye contact with me when I tried to get her attention. I have worked in the food service industry and if you're waiting more than twenty min for your food no matter how busy you are you are failing in the game of customer service. And to top it off, they pay their servers the federal minimum (for service industry workers) of $2.13/hr. If you're going to insist on eating at an Applebee's, at least go to the Duluth location where servers are paid the standard minimum wage of at least $7.25/hour. We had to flag her down if we needed anything. i ordered one of there iced mocha drinks from the bar the bartender did not know how to make it. He had to look it up which was fine but in the mean time he waited on 3 other tables. By the time I got the drink I was done with my food.
