Went back yesterday for their Big Meal Deal. A variety of burgers, cheeseburgers & chicken sandwiches starting at $9.99 including a non alcoholic beverage. I had the bacon cheeseburger again. It is still soooo good. I ordered a side of thousand island dressing to put on it. I highly recommend doing the same or asking them to put it on for you. My friend had their fried chicken bacon cheddar sandwich. I'm getting it next time. It looked like a full pound fried chicken breast. WOW! The only bad thing was it was hot as hell so she had to wait awhile before being able to get a good bite. We both took fully half our lunches to go. We had a great server. I can't remember if his name was Mike or Mark maybe? The manager checked to make sure we were happy with our food while eating an again when we were done. That's great service. I have three words for you if you're going to come here, esp for happy hour: DIRTY BONG WATER!! Dirty bong water is what they would call a foo foo drink. Essentially it is a bunch of sweet liqueurs mixed together. The thing about it is that my husband has not ordered it in more than 20 years probably and still, somehow, they still have the recipe to make it. It wasn't just one of those drinks that you had to ring in different parts for, the string was still programmed into the bars menu on the register. Crazy. I had the flight of margaritas. They were OK. I guess I was expecting more but why, I'm not sure. I think I was just hopeful. I was really hoping for a lot from the passionfruit margarita. it didn't really have that great passionfruit POW! It didn't quite give me a buzz, but it gave me a little tickle. It was good enough. My family and I had just eaten when we got together with our cousins for happy hour. So, we only had some drinks. We did not eat. The waitress was a very friendly lady. I think she's been there a while. She was very loose, uncomfortable chatting with us. She was a lot of fun. But most importantly, she was very good at her job! Had perhaps the most awful server in my life at this Applebees, a plus sized waitress named Gabriella made my son's 10 year old birthday experience both miserable and awkward. She was rude so when the cheque came I left $8 on a $60 bill which I thought was more than fair for the brutal service and I paid on the table kiosk - she came over and slapped the paid bill down on the table and said 'this tip is for the cooks too' - and I was like wtf just happened, in total disbelief. Then our daughters friend who is 13 and very young was paying her own bill and like any teenager they don't tip and left exact change $8.60 cash for her kids meal on the table - the waitress approached me and told me she only left $7.60 and so when I got to my car I told the friend she was $1 short - her and my 2 daughters then were like hell no we counted that s*** out carefully, she's lying. Been a minute since we frequented this location. This is the location near the mall, on Southcenter Blvd, conveniently located to all the shopping; however, do not recommend. Would rather go to the Grady Way location. Reasons: less than clean, tables and chairs scattered about with giant empty gaps (ambience), slow wait staff, food came out cold (service). I needed to leave earlier than the rest of my party and this could not be facilitated by the wait staff without checking ALL of us out - which seemed unnecessary but maybe a result of their checkout system. Specifically, ordered the "white queso" and chips appetizer. It was terrible. So bland and the chips were like the neglected stepchild of Tostitos - flavorless and not crispy. My husband and I stopped by Applebee's late Friday night--around midnight--and weren't really expecting much beyond a quick bite. But what we got instead was a genuinely great experience, thanks to two standouts: our server Scott and the night manager Michael. Scott wasn't originally supposed to be our server, but somehow we ended up in his hands--and we're so glad we did. He was personable, attentive, and gave us great recommendations. That cheeseburger he swore by? Absolutely worth it. And the wonton chicken tacos? Delicious. He didn't miss once. Later on, Michael, the manager, stepped in and truly went above and beyond. He was warm, professional, and made us feel really taken care of. Both he and Scott turned a simple late-night meal into one of the best service experiences we've had in a while. Dear Restaurant Management, I am writing to express my concern regarding an incident that occurred today. I found wet, wipe napkins underneath my fries. When I inquired with the server, she explained that the wet wipe was meant to be on the side of the plate and must have slipped into the sauce underneath the fries. I am concerned about this as I do believe wet wipes should be anywhere near the food due to sanitary reasons. I would like to request that management, consider placing the wet wipes on the table separately in the future, rather than on or near the plates. We came here for the unlimited boneless wings deal that's going on for a limited time. Despite being quite busy and having folks waiting in the lobby, we were able to get a seat in the bar area almost immediately. Our server (who I think was the/a manager) was fantastic and gave us a full heads up about how the wait for the wings and their refills might take a bit longer because of how full the restaurant was and how they've been running low on wings. He helped us with our order and got one refill ahead of time as well just to make sure the kitchen could get things out timely for us! The wings themselves were as expected and weren't bad at all. The sauces were great and my favorite was the lemon garlic. The buffalo was a bit too funky for me and the BBQ was also not bad. After visiting the Renton location, we decided to come here because we waited for 15 minutes, and no one greeted us. However, we were immediately greeted and seated within 5 minutes at the Southcenter location despite the dining room being close to full capacity. Our server was attentive and provided us with excellent customer service. My friend and I ordered the AYCE boneless wings and riblets with fries. The dish was heavy since it was all fried food, so we could barely clear a plate. The protein quality could have been better, but it did the job. I enjoyed the double-crunch shrimp we ordered later on as it felt less heavy on the stomach. Additionally, the price for AYCE was about $15 per person, which is okay. Overall, I would revisit this location as I have received excellent service, and the food quality is slightly better than other Applebee locations. The menu is quite acceptable.....and LARGE quantities! That said, another source noted the atmosphere as being moderately quiet. Since I go out to lunch for companionship and CONVERSATION, it's an important factor to me. In this case, I was terribly misinformed, from the moment I stepped in the front door, I was bombarded with music (?) and 'THUMPA-THUMPA' bass beat, about a 60 Hz frequency. I put my ribs in the container and walk over to the manger and show him that my ribsare hanging over the container May I please have a larger container...he States they don't have larger containers I asked again for one of the square containers he stated they don't have any so what is the truth " they are for to go orders or they don't have any... then he tells me to cut up my ribs tomake it fit in the bowl and they can give me another container for my fries... Once again we visited this location but sadly we were disappointed. Sau did a GREAT job as 'host' and got us seated right away and situated. However after placing our drink orders it started to go downhill. Our server got the first round out within reason and watched our friends iced tea, however when one of the other friend's alcoholic drink ran out it appeared to be 'avoided' for some time. Our food did arrive- the chicken strip platter, Bourbon chicken and shrimp *came out burned smell and got Diarrhea and our final order was 12oz ribeye and asked for medium rare. Our friend was so unhappy that he had to ask 3x in an attempt to get a medium rare steak! It appears that not just Applebee's but many restaurants have no cooking staff that can prepare this selection. After the 3rd attempt he decided to forgo dinner altogether. *I had it cooked a bit longer (as it came out more raw to rare) and took it to someone at home. Once again the food was mediocre to not great. The service was outstanding,from the seater/greater to the manager. The manager was extremely accommodating, and appeared to be in great form for his compassion to the patrons. The server was nice and did a quote fair job. The seater had great energy,as if he had just been having a great day and was trying to send a little cheer on to each he encountered. Stopped in for happy hour, then stayed a little longer! Kyle the bartender is so great he was running the bar, seating guests, and delivering food too. Seemed short staffed, but Kyle managed to take care of approximately 15 guests and kept the food as well as drinks coming. There were prose and cons but you're getting what you pay for when you choose to go to Applebee's.. am I right? If you go in with this mindset, it's honestly not that bad! LOL Cons: - we were looked at but not greeted 5ish minutes so we finally decided to sit OURSELVES at the bar - after getting ID'd, we weren't help for 20-30 minutes at all - food didn't come out for another like 15 minutes - they were out of so many liquors for our drinks. They were all basic drinks and I thought it was very surprising that they would run out, and not have any substitutes to offer, during happy hour Pros: - I love their oriental chicken salad. I prefer this Applebee's above the rest because The servers are so nice. The service is great, even when they are busy they always have a second to say hi. I even think the food tastes better than the one in Auburn or Tacoma. My favorite is their I Oriental grilled chicken salad and the Won Ton tacos. We went here with our two kids very often, but tonight we had a worst experienced. We ordered two kids meals, two adults meals and one appetizer. The server only brought out adults meals and I had to ask three different server three different time, when they would bring the kids meals out. Came for some late night happy hour appetizers. Left with dissatisfaction. At first, service was good. Our waiter had clear communication about when she'll be back to take our order and getting a pitcher of water for the table. When there was an issue with the iPad, she came back and confirmed our order. All signs of good service. After we received a majority of our food and finished eating, we noticed that there was one order of food that we haven't received. By the time we got our check from when we finished eating, about 20 mins passed. Visited this location tonight with my father for dinner to try their new specials. We were greeted and seated quickly which was a nice surprise as I suspected it to be busy. The atmosphere of the room was standard but nice. Our server, Bella, was absolutely delightful and very friendly, if you visit this location, I recommend you try to sit in her section. As for food, I order their new big Cluckin' Crispy Chicken Sandwich and my father had the riblet platter with a side of mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were mostly warm but definitely had been sitting on the counter waiting to be delivered. My chicken sandwich came out first and the ribs came out 10 min later, the timing in the kitchen was not good as expected. My fries were mildly warm but not hot, the batter on my chicken was grainy, didn't look like it was hand breaded, looked like it was stale and flash frozen, and cooked long before I ordered it. As for the ribs, they were fatty, soggy, not very hot, and quality has severely declined in the last couple years. We paid $70 for two meals and left with more than half our food on our plate as it was not worth to take home. The only reason I gave this 2 stars was mostly for the service. read more

We walked in behind someone else who was waiting at the front to be acknowledged (it seemed like he was just there to pick up an order) multiple severs walked passed us without acknowledging us at all. After standing there for about 10-15 minutes I see who looks to be manager walking around. I attempt waving him down and he looks right at me and looks away and continues to ignore us. The man who walked in before us finally goes to grab the manager (presumably) to let him know there's many people waiting at the front now. The manager gives this man a dirty look and says um ok and walks away. The man walked back to the front so discouraged and frustrated. We walked out after this seeing this exchange. YIKES. I totally understand being short staffed on a busy day. We're in a weird time for staffing... I go through this myself at my own job. BUT it really only takes 30 seconds OR LESS to say "Hi sorry, we're short staffed someone will be with you as soon as possible." Even the manager came by and dropped off our food, got our refills... Then it was down to two tables in her area and she disappeared! Then we saw her sitting at the bar either on break or just talking to the bartender for a while ! No one ever came to refill our ice tea and my tip reflected it. She started off ok but just got worse... As for the food, it was surprisingly good ! I was happy with my choice, the chicken and shrimp... She wasn't happy with her salad, it was more rice than salad she said, just a bad choice from what to pick from. Would I go back ? Friday night... the Seattle Mariners are playing!! (opening season home stand here in Seattle). Earlier my husband and I went to Applebees to have dinner and watch Mariner game. We elected to sit in bar to watch the game. We quickly notice the Mariners game is not on any of the many big screen TVs . We ask waiter if one of the screens could be switched to Mariner game. Reply , "Sorry... Applebees does not have Root network" We like Applebees, awesome 2 for $25. entree . The food was really good... penne for me , chicken & shrimp for him. We literally might have been here every Friday night through September. However, we won't, like many Seattleites, if Mariners are playing the game is on TV. Went to Applebees, waited for server to come, after being seated. Not busy at all tonite, 4 tables in the bar area. All had there food. In the meantime no water either. We saw the server standing by the Hostess and did not look over to us and than she stood at the end of the area, just chatting away with another server. Really can't complain with Applebee's Happy Hour! Half priced apps/drinks and solid service is all you really need sometimes for a great budget meal. I'm a big fan of their wonton tacos, those will always hit the spot. I also enjoyed the quesadilla and the wings. For the price I'm can't be picky about much, but their apps are actually pretty good. Service was solid, not expecting much here as long as it's not a negative experience. Not too long of a wait on food either for a Friday night. I ordered the chicken fiesta plate and it came super blah was missing the veggies on the rice and the chicken was missing the colorful tortillas.
