Received a gift card. Which is the only reason I would ever come into this establishment. In all my years of dining, Applebees has never impressed me. Ordered some special thing, but was a little confused on it. Before it arrived, I asked the waitress to explain it to me, and she made it sound like we got to choose 2 entrees and then the unlimited side. When the bill came, I was charged for 2 of the specials. I asked the server and she said it was because I ordered two entrees. I told her, when I looked at the menu, it looked like we could choose 2 entrees. She said because she already put the ticket in, that she couldn't change it. I know that is a lie. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! Where do I even begin? We went in with a party of 6 and was encouraged by the hostess to order the all you can eat boneless wings, shrimp and ribs. 3 of our people ordered that and getting a refill on the food was the biggest hassle. First, they forgot about the food refills TWICE! Our waitress, Elese(?) was friendly but you could tell she was a bit overwhelmed by all the tables she had to serve (when we walked in there were maybe 4 other tables occupied and the rest were empty). As time went on, it got a little busier and at some point we were told that we had a new waiter because our waitress was taking care of too many tables at once. The food was great (after it took over an hour of us getting the first round). Our second waiter, Mario, was also friendly, however didn't seem like he knew what he was doing at all. He kept offering to get us refills (we were ready to go but still waiting on our food refills from the all you can eat) and forgot about it. We ended up not even getting any drink refills after we had reminded him twice (during this time, he took multiple tables drink orders and brought theirs out almost immediately). After being there for two whole hours, they finally brought out two of the second rounds but forgot the third order. ‍ Took a long time to get that, we were extremely frustrated. Other tables had to track down the waiters too asking about their food/drinks. They really weren't even that busy, they just weren't prioritizing the tables/guests that needed to be helped. When we went to pay on the tablet (because I would've been old and grey before they actually gave us the physical check), we realized that they tried to charge us for two extra all you can eat meals (5 total when we only ordered 3). I work in the food industry and it took a lot in me not to be one of those "can I speak to the manager" customers but my entire group of people was frustrated and just overall extremely dissatisfied. After asking our waiter Mario about that, he said he would have to retake our order (while we're sitting in front of empty plates and cups just ready to leave). Kindly, we gave him our order again. He said he'd fix it and after a few minutes of being gone, we were told by our waiter that the manager had to fix our bill to take off the extra charges which took 20 minutes alone. The fact that we nearly spent almost 3 hours here was really really frustrating. The worst part of the night was that no one, not a single employee or manager, at any point, apologized for anything- not the wait, not forgetting the food, not for incorrectly charging us, not for forgetting the drink refills, not for forgetting about us, nothing. Complete and utter waste of time and money. Probably the worst dine in experience I've ever experienced. It was the lack of awareness that they had for our tables and the ones around us, we were trying to have patience since they seemed nice when they checked on us (which wasn't very many times, we mostly had to wave them down or get their attention after the many times they passed our table without checking on us). To set the scene- it's around 1.30pm on a Sunday. There are a total of ten table sat, 20+ that are empty. We are told it'll be a 15m wait for a table, 30m later we were seated at some sort of thanksgiving kids' table setup. We were a party of 5. After waiting 30m and my wife's blood sugar being low we decided to suck it up and stay. After ordering it took another 30m for food to show up. At no point did anyone check on us, there were no refills offered, we had to fight just to pay the check. (The server never gave us a check and the little drone thing they have on the table wasn't working.) Had I not had kids with me, I would have just left. There was a manager that I saw pop out of the back for less than 60 seconds so I don't know what was going on at this place but I didn't even bother eating because the experience was so awful. Also- it took 4 people asking for the local football game to be put on the TVs. The first 3 people were told they couldn't change the channel. The 4th magically found the employee with the remote. Came in the middle of happy hour. All hands on deck, including management. In my section no one waited more than 5-6 minutes from the time the hostess sat you to when the server showed. Antonio the server deserves 4 stars alone. He had a large group and a couple small tables. His service was on point. 2nd round of drinks were ready when we were only 1/2 done with the first. Great up sales. Buffalo chicken good as always. Whiskey burgers, meh. One with avocado and one without. Sauce too sweet, avocado old. Kitchen mixed up the burgers. Burger meat not seasoned. Our server never came back to check on us, and never brought us any utensils or napkins for our appetizers until I asked, after we had our food for about 15 minutes. We also had an appetizer that came out 30 minutes later than all the others, which is okay if the kitchen was backed up, but tables who sat down after got the same appetizer sooner. We also ordered the dollaritas, which is a busy drink I understand, but tables who sat down around us got their drinks delivered before ours, which was a pre-made pitcher sitting on the bar's counter. The table tablets don't communicate to the bar the quantity of drinks you want to re-order, which isn't anyone's fault who's working but makes it a frustrating experience. Our initial server did not come back until the very end to clear our plates, which didn't happen until we made eye contact as she was walking away and then turned around. We had the worst experience 2/18/22. I love Applebees but I will never go to this location again. First when we got there we waited 15min for just WATER!!! Then our server just kept walking by so we asked anyone that worked there for service. Then we ordered food which took forever. Server was clueless maybe she just started. Got our food took awhile and we got all of our food except for my mother and the server did not check to see if we got our food my mom got her food way after us. At the end we're going to pay at the table but it went down. So we did our bill through our server. We wanted to split our bill but she than came back and said she could not split it which is Weird because we always did that. So when she brought us the ticket we decided not to give tip which I normally tip very well. We completed the merch receipt and brought down the total. Well our server must have gotten mad. It seems that she reprinted another receipt and gave her self a tip of $25 and scribble a signature. What happened to Applebee's? I used to eat lunch here once a week many years ago but didn't even recognize the menu on my recent visit. The food was OK but not as good as it once was and just reminds me of average bar food. I ordered a cesear salad with lunch and it was a pile of lettuce with some dressing thrown on top. The dressing wasn't even mixed into the salad. That's a first for me. When my entree arrived, my food was just warm and my fries were cold. My friend did like his French onion soup but that was, unfortunately, the highlight of the meal. I probably had the worst service experience here that I've had in awhile. I came with my friend and my toddler and after we were seated, it took the server about 10 minutes to come and take our drink order. Keep in mind it was moderately busy when we got there, only a handful of tables. I ordered a cocktail, two waters and an apple juice with our meals. Another 10 minutes goes by and she comes back, with just my toddlers apple juice, I figure she's coming back with our water but no. She comes back with a diet coke and a water and then realized it was for another table so she dropped it off there. Then kept walking past our table and still no water, maybe this isnt a big deal to most but it was really hot out and i was thirsty. The manager comes out with our food and sets it on the table and asks us if we ordered or wanted any beverages, I told him that we've been waiting about 20 minutes for two waters and a cocktail. He went to rectify the situation immediately, I saw him behind the bar making my cocktail. When the waitress came with the drinks she set it down and apologized because the bar tender was new and didn't know what she was doing, as if that explained why we didn't get any of our beverages until after our food arrived. Despite her writing down the sauces we ordered, she forgot those as well and had to run back to get them, luckily this was expedited rather than us waiting another 30 minutes for them. I was also surprised at the state of the appetizer sampler the manager dropped off. The spinach artichoke dip had obviously exploded or was slopped all over the outside of the dish, no thought to the presentation of the food. She checked on us only once about two minutes into the meal and then never came back, so of course i had to get up and hunt her down for boxes for the rest of my meal. My boyfriend and I came here tonight for a late night dinner and because we also heard they were selling $5 cocktails. We got there pretty late but my boyfriend arrived first and it was last call for cocktail so he only got to order us one. I'm giving this place a 1 star because their customer service was trash. Straight TRASH. Our server(s) were not attentive at all and was quite rude. My boyfriend tried to order another cocktail after I came but the server that was serving us refused to take his order. When our appetizer came, one server basically threw our plate on the table and walked away. While we were trying to enjoy our entrees, the bartender came up to us and said she had to either take our cocktail away (which was only half drank) or that we would have to chug it because apparently it was cut off time for alcohol. I would've gladly chugged it but she seem like she wasn't going to leave our table and I didn't feel comfortable while she was just going to stand there and stare at me drink. So I told her to just take it... which was such a waste because it was still half left. But we were more mad that they didn't give us a heads up OR at least make rounds saying that they're going to come back to take our alcoholic drink away because it's almost pass the drinking time. So after that whole situation, my boyfriend and I kind of lost our appetite. We quickly tried to eat as much as we can and just pushed our plate away. The lady who mindlessly was wiping down clean tables in an effort to look busy seated me. But she didn't tell anyone I was there. There was maybe two other small parties so there had to have been an active server. I waited 12 minutes and tried to get the "hostess's" attention but she pretended to not see me. I finally just had to walk out. I told the lady that I only have an hour to eat lunch and she basically looked at me like whatever, bye. It was borderline humiliating really--and I didn't even know I could be humiliated, maybe just badly dissed? Anyway I would strongly recommend not coming here. The last time I ate here, I actually got served. But their beef was oddly grey, like they cooked it frozen. And their staff is simply pissed off to be there, maybe they don't make $15/hour yet? I went here recently looking to make use of an old Applebee's gift card. I had been here several times before with "OK" experiences. This time was another one of those "OK" experiences. We arrived around 4:30pm to take advantage of the midday happy hour prices. We ordered chicken wonton tacos, a Dirty Shirley well drink, and a glass of Merlot at happy hour rates. The wonton tacos are always great. They're probably my favorite happy hour appetizer from Applebee's. The drinks were only OK. For our entrees, we took advantage of their "Two for $25" offer by getting boneless chicken wings, bourbon street chicken, and baby back ribs. The wings were great with barbecue sauce and ranch dip. The ribs were also delicious and tender, like they normally are. However, the bourbon street chicken seemed to be either slightly overcooked or left out in a heat lamp for too long because it was dry and just didn't taste as great as I've had it before. A bit disappointing. Our server did a great job throughout the entire dinner. She was very friendly and clearly tried her best to make things as enjoyable for us as she could. I think the place is great for happy hour appetizers. The entrees aren't as fantastic, but there are likely some decent ones we haven't tried yet. The two stars are for the cleanliness and general ambiance of the place, which were great. My recent experience went downhill from there. I ordered a hamburger, fries and an ice water. It took quite a while to get my food, but that was excusable because a) they were clearly busy, and b) I brought in a book. What follows, however, was not excusable. When my waitress finally brought my food, I told her that I also ordered an ice water. She left, presumably to go get it. At that point, I tried one of the fries. It was room temp/borderline cold! Don't they have heat lamps back in the kitchen? When it became apparent that my waitress wasn't bringing my ice water, I got up and asked someone else for it. Returning with my ice water, I took my first bite of the hamburger. When ordering, I was given a choice of "pink" or "not pink." I chose the latter. Well, the meat was very clearly pink in the middle. I hate to think what I would have gotten had I ordered it "pink." After how long it took to get the food, and how hungry I was, sending it back wasn't an option. One huge disappointment! I went to Applebee's specifically because I know they served potato skins. To my huge dismay, they no longer serve them because they revamped their menu to appeal to a more hip crowd. Major fail in my book because the staples are what people come for. Good bar food and ok drinks. No one is coming for a five star meal. Since the skins were a no go I tried the potstickers and I got 7 small hard as a rock shells with meat in them. When I tried contacting the manager of the store the next day to share my experience, I was promised a gift certificate. Several days passed and still nothing. I called back a week later and was told. "Check your spam e-mail". That was a joke because it was never emailed. Finally, after constantly calling corporate and the restaurant, I was emailed a $30 gift certificate. I will NEVER visit this restaurant again. Weekend Brunch Review: The Southcenter Mall area is such a breakfast black hole that the two options we could find were the new IHOP (line out the door) and Applebees? at 10 am? Yup! With formal printed menus in the Applebees style and everything. Beverage service was great if you wanted soda... coffee was burnt and cold with spotty service. There were only 6 parties in the whole place. California Shrimp Salad was good - bibb lettuce was super fresh and the avocado was great. WAAYYYY tooo much dressing.
