The best Applebee's we've been to. They have such great hospitality, service and a great manager. As soon as you walk in you are acknowledged. We are from the North bay and happened to be in town so we stopped by for a quick bite before a trip back home and wow. From start to finish. They made. Our lunch stop very satisfying. Food was on point! Service was attentive and great. Our server stayed on top of refilling our drinks and making sure we were well taken care of. Other employees consisting walking around cleaning, bussing tables and the environment overall was just really pleasant. Easy 5/5 stars. Can't say the say for others but glad we ran into a gem. I must say I am very disappointed in the overall experience I had today. I frequent here because I live close and established a good relationship with some staff over time, manager Sonia in particular because she is very nice and personable. Today I came in right before happy hour and ordered a beer, food, and a shot (which a patron offered to pay for) from the happy hour menu (5:55). I ordered another beer (not on the happy hour price) and closed my tab. I paid and tipped (as a veteran bartender would). My friend G (a frequent customer) came in and paid for a round and the bartender NEVER verified what people were drinking. Prior to leaving, G made sure I got my drink with the bartender right there, so I ordered a shot of Tequila for my drink. As I finished my beer and was leaving, the bartender asked if I wanted my beer and I had to pay for the shot. I said no I didn't, I already closed my tab and he said that I have to pay for the shot because my friend (who had since left) only bought a beer. That's where everything went down hill. The bartender had no communication and as a retired bartender with over 20 years in the business, that was wrong. I ordered a beer and shot on my own so why would he assume I wanted a third 20oz beer? Especially when my friend was there when I ordered the drink he bought? When Sonia and I talked, she kept on reiterating that my friend paid and left. I kept telling her he didn't and he came over to ensure I got my drink. Finally she said to me, 'so, you're not going to pay for your shot? Because I will pay for you as a frequent guest if you're not going to pay for it'. Really, that's how you flip that friendly personality and respond? Very condescending and rude. I told her I paid for my drinks and G paid for my shot. I didn't appreciate the way she communicated with me by assuming I wasn't trying to pay for my drinks. I told her that I have always paid AND tipped, so I didn't understand where this was coming from. The bartender should have communicated and verified anything when the person who paid was right there, and I had been there for a while too. Went to Applebee's today for lunch and the greeter were very great. I love the service was wonderful. The ambience was nice you know however the food was not good and it didn't come out hot. I had the sampler appetizer platter and it just it wasn't good and my husband had chicken Alfredo and it wasn't hot. It looks like it was dry like I don't know it just wasn't good. We went out to Applebees in Vallejo tonight for the Sizzling butter pecan blondie an absolute favorite of mine for over 20yrs! I was hesitant to come because of the poor service in Pinole but my goodness could Pinole learn a thing or two from Vallejo! So we got in around 550pm and I saw the happy hour menu but knew I had to order quickly. We got 2 mucho beach break drinks and they were The food, service, ambience and service were 10/10. By now, I think most diners know the equation when coming to Applebee's. Will it be the best quality food you've ever eaten? No. Is it satisfactory and priced affordably? Yes. That's undoubtedly the trade off. And this model fills that niche better than most. The chain in recent years has shuttered underperforming stores, but the location here in Vallejo remains. I had a promo offer through my Wyndham Rewards membership to eat here. But ended up misunderstanding the offer and missing out on the deadline. After joining the Club Applebee's Rewards program however, I was gifted with a free appetizer and decided to give it a whirl. Ordered take out. My free appetizer was the Chicken Quesadilla and my entree the Four Cheese Mac & Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders. If I were to return, I would not order either again. Both reminded me of cruise ship food. Not bad mind you, just nothing memorable in the least. The one-time free appetizer however, valued at about $13 wasn't to be dismissed. So, it wasn't a bad gamble at all. You may wish to join the program to claim your reward also? My order was ready on time, but I wasn't acknowledged for a minute or so when standing at the To Go station. Sorta felt like I needed to bust out a few jumping jacks to get 'em to notice me at first, lol. Little awkward there. The chain has always pushed the alcohol upsale from it's beginnings, this visit no different. Saw on the overhead bar menu for example where they even have liquor to go that's sold for consumption & portability out of plastic pouches or baggies. Yikes, that might could be a good thing or a bad thing I'm guessing? The men's restroom was clean and in order. Not sure I would hurry back anytime soon. But, I will quickly agree and reaffirm that Applebee's does provide value first and foremost. And this idea was driven home in spades by the steady stream of patrons entering the restaurant at around the same time as me. read more

The restaurant had nice decoration and was generally clean. The service was also relatively good. I got the 2 for $25 and the onion rings were nice and crunchy. They served it with bbq sauce which is questionable. I got the lime chicken entree and it was alright. Chicken wasn't dry but it wasn't juicy either. The chicken tenders and the pasta were ok individually, but the honey glaze from the chicken tenders was too much to the point it was pooling into my pasta and changed the flavor of the pasta completely. I did not like this mix of flavor. It definitely satisfied my craving. It was a Thursday evening and the restaurant was neither empty nor full. The service was a little slow, but acceptable since there were only about 3 I tasted all the 5 different flavors which I am ordering from my most to least favorite: garlic parmesan, Buffalo, honey pepper, sweet Asian chille, and honey bbq. All of the flavors were delicious and loaded with flavor. My personal favorite was the garlic Parmesan. My only comment on was that it had a buttery flavor that was a bit overpowering. Why does it always take FOREVER to get our food order? I'm not a huge Applebee's fan, but they do make a salad that I like. I've been here a handful of times, and every single time we waited over half hour to get our order. I got the steak with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli - it was actually yummy! I also tried the Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp - not bad! It had onions and mushrooms at the bottom. The chicken was tender and flavorful. And I think it's always the mashed potatoes that get me. Haha Love the perfect margarita - an occasional must for me. Our server Lucy was super friendly and so caring about how we were doing and about our family. After we ordered there was quite a delay in the food being served. Lucy to the rescue. With apologies from the manager she provided us a complimentary side of fries to eat while we waited for our order. We ordered off the all you can eat menu and apparently so did everyone else. She made our 16 month old smile and ensured we felt as welcoming as the commercials make Applebees appear to be. The $25 meal deal was awesome. I loved the burger and the chicken Parmesan was also delicious. Wings were good, onion rings and a free bread stick allowed us enough food to bring home for lunch the next day. They offered to replace an incorrect order, and when I realized there would be a delivery problem, they readily agreed to send me a gift card for the cost of my meal. First it said my order was ready for pick up and when I went to pick it up, it was not ready and when I got in my car to check I was missing one of my top sirloin and when I got home to eat it my steak was way to red than what I asked, and my burger had pickles when I requested pickles.
