They were supposed to have called me 30 minutes before the repair man arrived. I got a phone call from the office stating that the repairman was there and that he will only wait five minutes followed by the excuse that "sometimes his call don't go through". (Customers are so inconvenient !) After assessing the situation with the brand new refrigerator that I had ordered from Costco the repair man suggested replacing the whole door. I told him no thank you. I'll just re-order and return this one to Costco. After all that, it was a magnet at the bottom of the refrigerator door that had snapped off during the unloading process by the delivery company. My recommendation is to ask lots of questions watch and observe their work. Ask them how long they've been working on appliances. I mean, after all, it's your money that you've laid down for this Appliance. I am going to give this company another go, but hopefully I won't be replacing any appliances anytime soon. read more

When a second visit finally identified the issue, the repair could not be completed because your company neglected to send the necessary door lock part. Most frustrating is the total breakdown in communication. I was personally promised an 8:00 AM appointment by the technician to avoid my daughter's school and dance schedule. Instead, I was once again shoved into a 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM slot. When I contacted customer service, I was met with scripted, empty apologies like "I understand your frustration," rather than actual solutions. I have repeatedly adjusted my time to suit your technicians. I expect this machine to be fixed immediately, as I have now been without a working appliance for nearly three weeks due to your internal negligence. 04/14/26: Update - the technician came and guess what? They have the wrong part! Need to wait another week. Let's see how many updates it will take before the appliance is fixed. next week will be one month!!!!! 04/18/26: Update: I rescheduled to Monday. I scheduled an appointment with this firm because Maytag said they were an "authorized repair service." 3 days prior to the appointment Maytag set for me I texted the firm to reschedule. The first message I got back was that I could not do so because my request was less than 24 hours prior to the service date. Very disappointed with Appliance Repair Specialists. They charged $175 just to come out and gave us a completely incorrect diagnosis, claiming we needed a repair that would cost around $1,500. Thankfully, we decided to get a second opinion from another company, and they fixed the actual issue for only $200. It honestly felt like either the technician was not knowledgeable enough to diagnose the problem correctly or they were trying to upsell an unnecessary major repair. Either way, it was a terrible experience and a costly misdiagnosis. I understand diagnostic fees are standard, but paying $175 for such an inaccurate assessment was extremely frustrating. Jim Stone arrived for our scheduled appointment. It was the second visit by ARS, first by Jim. After I explained the problems with my GE Monogram beverage refridgerator, he went to work trying to figure out a solution to the issues, not just installing the parts the previous ARS guy ordered. Jim explained the problems and his solutions and the one item he could not fix. He was very complete and patient and knew his stuff. Bottom line, he fixed the most important issues and the one new problem was with a build quality flaw that would have meant more time waiting and no guarantee to have it installed correctly or be delivered without a flaw. We chose to keep it with all the fixes Jim incorporated and we feel it was the best choice. Jim is an outstanding repair specialist, and I would recommend him 100% for any type of problem you might have. read more

My Whirlpool washer is still under the 1 year warranty and I noticed about a month ago that the washer would skip the rinse cycle and instead repeat the spin cycle about 4 times. WELL I called Whirlpool and had a technician come out to find out what needs to be fixed (what part) and they had wrote on the receipt after that the washer had a "bad suspension". I highly doubt this is true because the washer is still acting the same way. On October 14, 2023 REPAIRMAN Francisco came out to fix my non-working ice maker in my Whirlpool Refrigerator. After working a short time. He told me he had to order a new part. I asked him what he was doing? He abruptly told me the wouldn't answer any questions until he was done. His attitude was unprofessional. I have never experienced this hostility of a worker in my home. I was a Telephone Repairman when I got out of the Army. I treated all customers with respect. On October 20, Francisco returned with parts in hand. I was busy on the phone with my pre op nurse when he arrived and went to work. The nurse asked what was all that noise as we were having our conversation. I told her they were fixing my refrigerator. The loud grinding noise was perplexing. Later I came in to question what was going on. Francisco was grinding off the AUGER MOTOR COUPLER. I questions his actions and asked him why he didn't unscrew it. This was very strange because sparks were flying sticking my cabinets. It was obvious that me questioning him made him upset. Francisco was arrogant in his answer and would not explain his actions. He only told me to "back off". With this I got my phone and started recording him. Then he told me to stop recording him. I told him that this is my home and I can record if I want. He said that he would leave if I continued. Francisco huffily gathered his tools and the part and scrambled out of my home. He left all the freezer box parts on the floor and didn't clean up anything. I noticed he was outside by his vehicle talking to someone, then he drove away. Jill from the Appliance Repair (661-587-1300) called me at my home. I told her everything and asked her not to send this apprentice back. Shortly, I got another call from Victoria. She said they will come back on the 25th to finish the job. I repeated the incident I had with Francisco to her. Victoria told me that when the repairman comes out again, I was not to be there. I informed her that I was having surgery that week and I will be home recuperating. I sent and e-mail of the incident at 3:06pm to Maria with pictures. I was informed October 28th was the new date the repairman was returning because they had to order more parts. On October 28, Rod O came to fix my refrigerator. He quickly went to work and assembled everything. I asked Rod if grinding was the correct way to remove the left handed auger motor coupler? He said it was correct. His demeanor was cold and unengaging. I can emphatically tell you that grinding off the part is not in accordance with Whirlpool Refrigerator Repair Manual . Improper Assessment of problem. Didn't help at all. Called my Sears Warranty Service bc any new water filter I would use for fridge were getting clogged and no water coming through. Initially thought it was a bad filter.. but after buying 3 new filters and all of them were not passing water, I figured something was clogged in my water line or fridge. Technician came in and in all but two minutes he said was my water source from city was too hard and had too much calcium and minerals. Told him this is same hard water everyone in region has and been like this for 10+ years. So why are all 3 BRAND NEW filters all seem CLOGGED within 30 seconds of installation? Hard water would take time to clog a brand new filter. It's not like there chunks of rocks in the water. Something else must be clogged in the line or filter housing. Asked him to triple check there is also nothing wrong with my fridge-- especially the water filter housing. He emphatically said it's just the hard water and recommended getting a reverse osmosis filter external to fridge. Not helpful advise when I want my fridge fixed. Left after only 15 minutes. Attempted to call company to ask for re-assessment with different technician and left voicemail with Supervisor. No one ever called me back. After researching myself, ended up buying and replacing the Fridge's water filter housing myself that I found on Amazon for $120. Guess what... no more clogged filters. The technician claimed he identified the issue, a shut-off valve, but instead of turning it on, he replaced an unrelated part and told us to "wait and see" if ice production returned. If not, he'd come back to open the valve. He never returned. We followed up with the company for two weeks with no response. Then, out of nowhere, they messaged us saying they didn't have the part and had closed the service ticket. What part? The tech clearly stated the only issue was the valve. It's obvious they didn't want to send the tech back because they had already collected the service fee and didn't want to absorb the cost of a return visit. At 4:05pm, I received a call that the service tech was 60min away. After speaking with customer service, I was told I had 2 options...wait a week for another appt or wait for the tech to show up. Now it's after 5pm and I'm still waiting. This complete disregard for my time is just shitty customer service. Worst service and customer service ever! Whirlpool booked a repair appointment with these incompetent unprofessional losers. First, of the repairman never showed up. The window was between 8am to 4pm (I guess they assume people have nothing better to do all day to wait for someone to show up). Seriously, what good is texting someone if they do not reply? It wasn't until two days later in the late afternoon when they finally replied with lame excuse that the repair man was overbooked. So how is that my fault? They didn't even have the professional courtesy to call in person, they just hid behind a text. They tried to offer another day with the same window of 8am to 4pm as if I have all the time in the world to wait for an incompetent repairman to maybe show sow up. I told the, to go F themselves. When I called Whirlpool to complain, they said that they stated that they did show up but no one was home. They also stated that the repairman was waiting on parts for my refrigerator. First of all, the Jack Hole never showed up. Second, how could he need parts when he never look at the fridge? I had to ask him several times to lower his voice because of my children while he was arguing with me. We were arguing because before he even looked at the fridge, he was diagnosing it. He unscrewed three screws while threatening me to stop talking to him. My husband came down because he heard me being attacked. This guy freaked out when he realized there was another man here to stand up for me! This was a man trying to take advantage of a new mom. My 3 month old Whirlpool dishwasher stopped draining. It was still under warranty so I contacted Whirlpool to have it serviced. They contracted this company to fix my appliance. However, after looking up the Appliance Repair Specialist company on Yelp, I became worried after reading all the poor reviews. Nonetheless, an appointment was set. To my surprise, everything went well. They called and emailed me to confirm the service details. And they were not difficult to reach when calling about a question. I spoke to two people, both were pleasant and helpful. They even emailed me a tracking link so that I would know where my tech was on his scheduled stops for the day. Ian, the repair specialist that serviced my dishwasher even called when he was on his way, which was very appreciated. When Ian arrived, he was extremely polite and professional. He was able to diagnose the problem in minutes and fix the issue. He cleaned up the area and tested the dishwasher to make sure it was working properly before he left. On the day before they give me an automated call to confirm my appointment at the wrong time and you can only confirm. We're using this company only because we purchased our new Whirlpool washer at Lowe's on 11/28/22 with a warranty and after calling warranty center, they scheduled an appointment for service with this particular company. Within a couple months, our brand new Whirlpool washer started making a horrendous noise during washing cycle and twice the washer has frozen up at start up with multiple lights just blinking. We had a service tech by the name of Jaime, come out on 3/31/23 to service and repair horrendous sound. He clearly heard noise when he started a cycle. At the end of attempting to fix problem, he said he replaced three (3) different parts in washer but none of the three (3) different parts solved / repaired the washer from making loud horrendous sound. Jaime the service tech, clearly said he COULD NOT TARGET the cause that was creating loud sound and he would need to speak to his supervisor regarding - possibly his supervisor may have idea on how to repair and Jaime the service tech, then stated he would call me mid week of 4/3/23 - 4/7/23 to follow up on repair. I never got a call back from Jaime, Not even from the main office. My husband called this morning 4/13, and he was informed by a rep that the service tech, Jaime said he repaired our washer the day he came out to service it. ?????? Seriously???!!!!!! Clearly questionable work ethic and honesty from this company's service tech staff. When my husband told me the reps response, I was floored!! I had to call the office myself-- After briefly speaking with a rep., I asked to speak with a supervisor instead, he placed me on hold, came back on the line and said the supervisor would be calling the service tech Jaime to ask about repairs and then she will call me to discuss issue.... I'm still waiting to get a call back from this supervisor to discuss the issues of dishonesty and non repairs on my washer that DID NOT resolve horrendous sound my washer continues to make. I highly recommend going to a reputable repair company that follows a code of ethics and employs honest techs, CLEARLY THIS COMPANY LACKS BOTH! ** One star is only by default. Worst appliance repair experience EVER! If I could give a minus 5 rating I would. We bought an extended warranty for our dishwasher. It turns out that ARS is our local contract repair service (and I'm guessing, the low bidder for the contract.) The technician came to our home and diagnosed the problem as a failed wash pump. To make a very long story short it took FOUR visits over a period of SIX WEEKS to replace the wash pump and make our dishwasher functional again. It was such a bad experience I filed a complaint with the CA Department of Consumer Affairs. read more
