The quote claimed the main control needed to be replaced and costs $875. This is triple the cost of the parts. Other parts costing $19 were marked up to $319. Not only were the parts marked up, but they were not broken and didnt need to be replaced. After this absurd attempt to get into my wallet, I hired another provider who made a tiny wire repair and the fridge is working as new. Their quote doesnt even note the model number which would be needed to order a correct part! Our fridge broke on a Saturday morning & with a 16 month old toddler in the house we had to get it fixed very quickly. Victor from appliance SV arrived Saturday afternoon and provided a quick and accurate description of the root cause, a burnt evaporator fan motor. It had burnt out because we had been stupid enough to block it. He said the part needed to be ordered and from the factory and gave me a quote of 463 usd (usd 175 labor, and the remaining for a evaporator fan motor). Given the urgency we signed him on and he said the part would arrive in time to deliver a fix by Tuesday. Victor arrived with the part a day later than committed, on Wednesday. After he replaced the part I asked him to give me the old part. I wanted to examine it to see how I might DIY a fix if a similar problem occurred in the future. He showed me the part and I saw a sticker on it with the part number information. However before he left, he removed the sticker from the part, which is outrageous. The good: Issue was fixed. The ugly: Massively overcharged for replacement part & stole the sticker from the old part. Later when I called the manager he said "you agreed to the price" which is fair, but when I asked him about the missing sticker and how stealing the sticker smells of price gouging he just deflected. Bottom line: they charged me about $250 for a part that costs $25 on amazon. Is there another explanation for why they would steal that sticker label? When I asked the manager to share the invoice that shows the cost at which they ordered the part he said something like "we are not allowed to share internal company confidential information" which again is nothing but a deflection. read more

Our refrigerator went out on Saturday May24, Labor Day weekend so I went through 3 or 4 appliance repair shops before I contacted Appliance SV and Victor showed up within about 3 hours. Called them to repair our 29 year old Quasar microwave on 6/26/23. Dispatcher introduced himself as Dan, and the repair technician's name is Viktor. Our microwave was sometimes running when the door was open, and then it stopped working altogether. Viktor replaced the door latch mechanism and fuse at a cost of $317, which includes a $25 senior discount. The repair cost was reasonable, considering the response time was very fast, the repair was quick and efficient, and that we didn't have to take the microwave to a shop or replace it with a newer model of generally inferior quality. Noticed the refrigerator part of my 10 year old Maytag was warm while the freezer was super cold. Appliance SV arrived a few hours after my call and diagnosed the issue (failed control board) in about 10 minutes. They had the part in stock. My refrigerator had to stay shut off and open over night to allow all the built-up frost to thaw and evaporate before everything else could be checked to ensure replacing the board was all that was needed. Contacted this company to fix our dryer. The schedule is between 5-7 pm, he came in before 4pm. I showed him the dryer, he looked at it, did not open the back of dryer or anything, then after 3 mins he told me it will cost $515 for repair kit. A brand new same dryer cost $400. This was the second company I had called to come check out the washing machine. Dude did a diagnostic on the washing machine, it was making a loud noise that I showed him a video of. He told me it needed a full drum replacement for almost $500 and it would take a week to get parts and fix.
