If I was able to give a zero star rating I would. Twice already we have had Aptive hucksters out trying to get business. I don't fault them - they are doing what they need to to find work. I get it. But when pointed to a No Soliciting sign the first guy said, "Your neighbors didn't tell you I was coming over?" No,, he wouldn't have, I'm thinking, and responded, "The sign says, No Soliciting, now leave." He started to argu and I had to get close to strident to finally get him to actually get off the front porch. Tonight, about, 8 pm, which borders on courtesy for a cold sales call, my husband answered the door, asking the man in front of him, "How may I help you?" The young man responded with some version of "How's it going?" To which my husband pointedly repeated his, "How may I help you?" The Aptiva rep started talking about how all our neighbors were using them for pest control...yada Yama, and my husband pulled on the "No Soliciting" sign and told him to stop. Do not fall for the Aptive sales pitch. I did and I still have an ant and spider infestation after their $$$ service. Not only is their service bogus, they don't answer their phone when you call to try to get them to schedule service. Their recording ALWAYS SAYS " we are experiencing longer than usual wait times" and uses the hold time of 10-15 minutes to make you listen to a repeating sales pitch for additional services. If you call their sales line they answer immediately, but if you call the Aptive customer service line you will wait an excessive amount of time or until you give up and hang up. They are a waste of time and money. I've used two other services on rental properties I have in other areas and have had much better customer service and much more effective pest control. Now I'm stuck with a two year Aptive contract for what appears to be a bogus pest control service! read more

I have a "No Solicitors" sign next to my front door and these guys have come knocking at least twice in the past few months. I've told them in the past to stop harassing me and they say "We'll make sure to do a better job instructing our harassers in the future" then a month or two goes by and another different person is riding around on his scooter harassing the neighborhood again. Do not use this company ! hired Aptive to do my pest control and they never showed up but kept billing me for their services . i was at home recovering from surgery and did not leave the entire day so no way could i have missed them plus i have 4 dogs that were outside all day and in an order to spray outback i would have had to bring them inside . when I called to find out what happened i was told my contract was cancelled 2 days prior ... i never cancelled it ! they say the tech recorded he was here and apologized . they said this happens a lot ! yet they still charge me for a visit they never showed up for... i have contacted them several times by phone & email . they said they would take care of it they sent it to a credit reporting agency ! Company comparison: We used Axiom the prior year for pest control and switched because we liked that Aptive Environmental claimed to be gentler on the environment. Ineffective product: The spiders around the yard and in the house are the worst they've ever been. I walk through webs daily at every entry/exit of the house. I signed a contract after falling for the BS a door to door sales man promised with there services but what really made be sign the contract was the "free reservice within 24hrs if you see pest". Not to mention that I live in a brand new home, no pets, no small children so the house is ALWAYS clean. When I brought up the fact that the services were not helping they gave me every excuse in the the book. "Can't get get rid of spiders unless posion contacts them directly". "To get rid of bugs you have to wait until the egg cycle is cutt off". "Pest keep arriving because you are in a new construction neighborhood". The excuses to poor results did not stop. So after a year of dealing with this horrible company with zero results the day finally arrived that my contract was up. Or so I thought. I get a letter in the mail saying I owed for the next quarterly so I called to see what this was about. They said the contract does not expire unless you call in after the year otherwise you will be charged quarterly until you decide to call in. This was in the "fine print" according to the manager. I wish I can put no stars. I signed up for a one year agreement with 5 services (free initial service + 4 subsequent services). They always come at a time when no one is home and stuck a green card saying the kind of service that was done. Who knows what was actually done. When my one year was up, they continued their service and charged me again even though I did not agreed to it. Will be telling my neighbors to avoid them. When I told their manager that I will be telling my neighbors about this, he said "well, we do have a lot of customers." A1 service. Stay away from this shitty company. read more

I will say initially they were great. They presented a good package deal and we decided to try it. However after the first series of spray downs, more insects came pouring out from places I didn't know existed. I requested a resweep (ad they promise unlimited sweeping/re-spray) and the staff was kind and came out. However the job wasn't done very well and there were several spiders and webs remaining. I contacted them to clean again once I realized the spiders were increasing in number again, but I was canceled upon the day of the appointment with an automated voicemail, indicating they'd reach out to reschedule. A week later, nobody reached out. I reached out to them, but received an unprofessional and curt email back simply with the question "when do you want to reschedule?" I said any day and time. Another week went by and nothing was scheduled. I reached out again but haven't received a response. They have not made good on their promised and yet they lock you into a one year contract of useless product. If you try to cancel the contract, you have to pay them to get out of it. It's rather a messy situation and one I would not recommend. If you have hundreds of dollars to throw away, feel free. Otherwise do yourself a favor and buy your own pest spray and do it yourself. read more

I appreciate the negative reviews listed here, however I have had positive results and wanted to share them. Yes, Aptive walked my neighborhood door knocking to get the business. Yes, they implied they were signing up other neighbors and talking with people nearby. Yes, they talked about the type of bugs that have been in the neighborhood. YES, every other pest company that has knocked on my door in the last several years said the exact same thing. So there's nothing unique about their approach. I've used Aptive for around a year now and am pleased with their service. We have an abundance of spiders and sugar ants. I've had to call them back to re-treat when the bugs start showing up again, and they've promptly showed up. They always call before coming out. We work from home, and always see them spraying. I've asked them to knock down wasp nests from the 2nd story eaves, and they always oblige. Their customer support and techs have always been courteous and helpful This week I had my deck replaced. As the rotting wood was getting pulled up, we found tremendous amounts of ants and spiders underneath. Prior to closing up the deck with the new materials, I called Aptive to see if they would come spray the crap out of the supports beams. They juggled their schedule to accommodate the construction, and showed up this morning exactly when they said they would. After the treatment, the tech came back to the door to let us know exactly what he did. Aptive was very clear in stating their treatment, being a more environmentally friendly one, will take care of the ants & spiders (exoskeleton) critters, but likely won't kill off anything like a termite (which we don't have). There was no charge for this service, as Aptive considered it a re-treat service. I don't believe for one second that our home will ever be spider free, we live in the Northwest for heavens sake! It's lush here and bugs abound! However, I'm convinced that with this latest treatment I'll see a huge improvement, and far fewer bugs inside the house. read more

The said they were doing our neighbors house, which they were not, and they could do mine for half price. Please check them out on "nextdoor" app as well, you will see that this is their line "I'm doing a lot of houses in the neighborhood including your nextdoor neighbor, I can do yours for a special half price since we are right here" Check other sites and you'll see they always rate bad, and try to scam you out of services they don't do. Aptive came knocking on our door last year during increase ant activity with claims that their safe methods would get rid of the ants for $99.00. After we signed up they came out and sprayed, then told me they needed to come back two more times to ensure they would be killed. Not happy, but I agreed. Then they cam out a fourth time, when we told them we agreed to three visits they told us we signed a year long contract and it would be $139.00 a visit! BTW they needed to come out more often as the ants kept coming. They eventually used a "super" spray to kill them. WE told them every time they came out to cancel at the end of the year. They came today for our last visit and told them again to never come back. We got a message telling us to call if we wanted to end our service. So I called again and they passed me up to a manager before agreeing to cancel. These guys are a scam. Stay away from them read more

Please inform your door to door sales people of the Beaverton city ordinance 7.04.055. Section C makes it quite clear they should not be knocking on doors or ringing doorbells to sell your service when a "No Soliciting" sign is clearly posted. I'd be happy to share the footage from my security camera if so desired. My sign is directly below the doorbell button. It could be just be an accident, like they rang it and then noticed the sign. But the guy went right into the sales pitch. I politely declined and pointed to the sign. He was nice about it, so not calling him or the other guy out. I have had Aptive knock on my door 4x in last three months. The most recent representative my husband saw out the window with an electric signature device so thought it was delivery person needing a signature. When I opened door he was not wearing a mask or standing 6 ft back. I told him my husband was a transplant patient and only then did he volunteer to stand back and put on paper mask he was carrying, but it was too late really. On Next Door forum others have had same experience with this company and they also ignore no solicitor signs apparently. For that reason I would not recommend them! read more

I swear that since starting their service, I have seen an increase in spiders. I have contacted customer service through chat 4 times now requesting to cancel my service and each time I am told I will be contacted by a "loyalty manager". I've been waiting for over a week to hear from anyone, and honestly do not look forward to what I am sure will be a nagging, pushy call. The chat associate confirmed they do not "have the authority" to cancel my service and I must wait to hear from the loyalty team... very frustrating. read more

So far I am very frustrated with the service. They put that they will get rid of all the spider webs, even off of furniture and get rid of all the bugs and pests. We had service perform, and still have major spider webs all over the house. We also, obviously, still have spiders and other pests. I've contacted them and told them that there are still spider webs and spiders all over, and was told they would send someone out on Monday to take care of it. Today is Thursday, and still nobody has come to take care of these webs. Of course they pulled out the money out of our account right away, but have not performed the performance that they said that they would. My parents live in Vancouver and used the pest company. They are healthy, have a clean house, etc, and are also in their 70's. They had a tech come service their house who was degrading, disrespectful, sarcastic etc. & commented on their 'needing to be educated'. (Their house is totally clean, but they recently had an ant problem- so, that is just a crazy comment to me.) The employee even ended up raising his voice to my mother, who is in her 70's. Absolutely ridiculous. After he stated how toxic the cleaner was, my mom confirmed that it was safe for pets. He began to repeat over and over to 'not lick the walls!' What in the world? Bizarre. My mom asked him to leave after making her feel uncomfortable, and ended up having to call for my dad - who was out back. I believe the tech thought she was home alone because he was coming across in such an intimidating manner. She yelled for my dad, who came and chased the guy off. Our mom was shook, which is unlike her, and this is all completely inappropriate & unprofessional. Maybe this guy doesn't represent the entire company, but regardless, obviously some more training needs to take place. read more

I had a few great experiences with Aptive, but recently had a really horrible one. I received a text notification that the technician would be at my home shortly. I was never alerted that he/she arrived, and never asked what pests to address. My dad was working outside at that same time and said he saw someone pull up, and get out of the car, but not do anything to my house. I cancelled my regular service, as I was moving, and provided the negative feedback (which seemed to fall on deaf ears). A month later, I ended up with a horrible ant infestation. When I called to ask to have someone come out, because I never got the original service, BUT GOT CHARGED, I was told they couldn't do it because I cancelled my service. Shady tactics - STEER CLEAR! The best thing I can say about this company is they inspired me to finally put up that "No Soliciting" sign I had been intending to get. Aptive's business model is to use exceptionally aggressive door-to-door tactics, and I was irritated enough by their representative's script that I am taking the time to write this review. I work from home, and I typically have a very busy schedule. I answered a knock on my door yesterday because I was expecting a washing machine repairperson during an afternoon time window. When I realized that it was a pest control guy, I told him that I had a meeting coming up. He mentioned a couple of my neighbors by name, and said that they had signed contracts (basically disclosing to me that they have a bug problem). I told him that I see a few spiders now and then, but we are not in need of pest control services, and I asked if he had a card. "We're a paperless company. I'll be here in the area until 8:30 tonight. When would be a more convenient time?" I urgently had to go, so I told him to come back at 6pm. When he returned, he named another neighbor whom he had signed during the day, and then he started his spiel. I stopped him and said, "Look - this is a no sale." He asked why, and I told him 1) I don't have a pest control problem, and 2) I don't respond to hard sells. He responded by saying, "What if I gave you the same deal I gave your next door neighbor there?" I responded, "Sorry, this is a no." Then, he said, "When I spray the perimeter of your neighbors' properties, where do you think the bugs are going to go? I don't want to use that, but just saying." Incredulous, I said goodbye and went inside. It took a few seconds for what just happened to sink in, or else I would have escorted him off of my property by his ear. Honestly, if the guy had just left a card, I probably would have called Aptive in the future if I ever did perceive a bug problem. After this experience, however, I would NEVER consider using them - not to mention the rest of the negative reviews here detailing their poor service and lack of responsiveness.
