We had a hot water burst in our living room concrete slab that surfaced to the top and flooded our entire downstairs of our condo. We received 2 quotes from 8k-13k to re-pipe the downstairs which I thought was excessive. Long story short, Aptos Plumbing was the last estimate which came in at $3600. Granted, I started some of the work before they gave me the estimate but it was still way more reasonable than the other quotes plus they were responsive, professional, and worked with us to get us back to normal. My sink and garbage disposal broke at the same time, and I needed a plumber so I called Aptos Plumbing. I had several problems with them. First, they showed up at the very end of the timing window they quoted (12-2) and did not call first. I went out and met them, and told them I had two sleeping babies, which they heard but did not regard. I understand that sometimes installing sinks makes noise, but they slammed the doors and were generally not respectful of my request. He came with another person and was not careful about wearing a mask, or was wearing it with his nose out for some of the time. They charged me $447 for just 1 hour of work installing a sink and a garbage disposal which seems super high. I would not recommend them. read more

Thes guys were great!! We needed to have a p-trap put in on our washer hookups to prevent a bad odor problem. They came out and quoted me the projected a couple days after I called. Then scheduled just a couple days out once I accepted the project. They showed up on time to fix it and were communicative about pricing and what work they were doing. Was having issues with my septic and was so happy to have found Aptos plumbing! Living off summit makes it very hard to find people to come out but this company was happy to the next day, even with the easy way closed due to a complete loss of road due to rain. They used the more rustic route but still made it here fine. They were able to repipe and flush system that day in a few hours and it was fixed at a responsible price. They were very respectful, honest and I will be using them again for any plumbing needs. Highly recommend. read more

Update: The owners have spent more time responding to my review than they did getting back to me with an estimate. I did upgrade the faucet to Grohe as they recommended. I called my contractor, who unearthed his paperwork with appropriate county sign-off on the water heater installation. When I asked about the cost of hydrojetting, he said he'd put it in the estimate, which I never received. He specifically warned me about viagra and birth control hormones in the water, and that only an RO system could remove them. I was amenable to most of the work that was suggested, but needed an estimate to make an informed decision. This is a she said/he said situation, obviously. Bottom line, the guy shook my hand and said he's send the estimate in the next day or two, and I never received it. When I called and texted about it, I was left hanging and heard nothing more until I saw the response to my review. *********** Not a good experience at all. Needed a basic plumbing fix and fixture replacement in the kitchen. Got a quick response back via Yelp, and even had an owner and helper visit to give me an estimate. Never got the estimate, despite a follow-up phone call and text from me. Must be because I declined their upsell tactics for hydro jetting, adding an RO filtration system, and moving and replacing my perfectly functioning tank water heater for an on-demand one. Did not appreciate the scare tactics about pharmaceuticals in my water supply either. After waiting in vain for an estimate, went with a long-time local plumber who fixed everything for $225. It's nice that others got 5-star service from Aptos Plumbing, but I absolutely did not and cannot recommend them. read more

Your comment is not true. There are 50 people in Seacliff Mobile Hones that had legal extra connections for irrigation and water systems that the park knew off and approved. We had numerous meetings concerning the Water Meters and the board said that Aptos Plumbing solicited business . Even the manager Art Alfaro recommended that we NOT use Aptos Plumbing because of their bad work. 50 people were complaining of the bad work, leaks, and messy clean up. Some people complained that workers took pipes out and left gaping holes which they did not have permission to take the pipes out. How could they forget something so simple to turn on the valve.?? read more

The job was done well it was everything else that was bad. Started off with an appointment which I had to move things around to keep. Out he comes to tell me he has no parts and he'll be at my place the next day at 8am. Gee, thanks, there goes that afternoon. Next day I called at 10am because no one was there, "cleaning the truck", I was told. OK, showed up over 2 hours late and did a great job, can't complain about quality. Got an invoice, and paid the bill. Then I got a call telling me that, well, the invoice wasn't accurate because he didn't charge me the rate he should've charged me at and he forgot something. Turns out he didn't forget anything, the invoice had all the work he did it's just the total was not what the office deemed the right amount. I got the distinct impression that I had the "special" rate. There's a rate that the plumber charges for work performed (and that's what he charged) but then there's my rate (which is what they wanted). I was told it's some app screwup, couldn't get the right rate, "computer issue", I had to pay more. Turns out they charge more than lawyers do. It came out to about $1400/hour since the work was maybe 30 minutes. Like I said, quality work but that's all I can say good about the experience. Update: Holiday? I called the previous week to schedule and was told Monday. I said it was labor day and was told you were still working. So don't make it sound like you were coming out on a holiday, it was a work day for you according to your office. And what I was told was you'd be at my house at 8am the next day and the water would be off for 2 hours because you needed to glue some PVC piping and it would have to dry. You specifically asked about guests at my house and that everyone should know water off from 8-10. That's why I called at 9:30 wondering. Sure showed up at 10am. If that's in your window then bully for you. Maybe tell people your window instead of saying that you're busy cleaning the truck. As for the $300 discount, that's not what you said. You said it's $149 but the first one is more because you have to pay for coming out. That's your standard rates you told me. I didn't get any $300 discount, it was all your standard rates according to you. The issue was they apparently aren't because the plumber who came out charged what he charges for a job which tells me what he charged me was what the rate was. It's not like the guy doing the job just makes numbers up. He was experienced and he charged what he was apparently accustomed to charging. One bad review and it's "don't call us". We had personally tried replacement of our toilet wax ring only to have it fail two times. We called Aptos Plumbing and they determined that there were plumbing issues in the pipes below the toilet and the adjacent toilet in another bathroom. They arrived around noon and worked steadily to repair the waste plumbing below both of our toilets until they completed the work at around 8pm. Justin, Jose and Bruce did an excellent job of evaluating and repairing the failing plumbing. We had company coming to stay with us that evening and Aptos Plumbing stayed with the project until it was done so that we would have functioning toilets. Good work guys! Aptos Plumbing is Awesome! I woke up Wednesday AM having discovered my water heater had turned into a fountain! I called several places but Aptos Plumbing was able to send someone within 3 hours so I booked an appointment. 45 minutes later, I received a call that they could come by immediately, for which I was very grateful. They not only fixed the immediate problem, a leaking water supply line, they came back the next day ON TIME and replaced my 30 year old tank. They did a fantastic job, completing it exactly in the amount of time they said and provided me with an excellent price that was exactly what they had quoted. To our surprise, a representative from Aptos Plumbing agreed to come out within an hour at which point he diagnosed the problem, went out to locate the part that was damaged, and proceeded to fix the problem for a fraction of the cost of a new water heater.
