Room ac/heat unit didn't work, toilet leaks, and safe didn't work either (apparently none in the hotel work...so why are they in the room?). Sadly I had to text the General Manager twice to get no reply (no other manger on duty) and talk to the front desk three times before anyone offered us a new room but we got back at 11:30 at night and were not going to pack up to move to u pack at that time. Nightmare. They used a master key and came into my room without knocking or announcing themselves. When I said something asking who it was (I was scared) they snickered and ran away. Beyond unprofessional. I went to the front desk and the "Manager" told me it was her son and that he went to the wrong room. The son then came down to the front desk (he was a teenager) and he had two teenage girls who did not work there in tow. Then the "Manager" got aggressive and loud with me (literally stood up and raised her voice) when I was trying to ask him why he didn't knock, ran away, and didn't reply to me. Then she asked "me to leave" . Shocking. Rooms are out of date and service through several people was really horrendous. I don't understand why people are in the hospitality industry when they do not want to be hospitable. Just get a new job where you don't have to deal w people. Great Location with a Few Minor Drawbacks The location is perfect--literally right across from the ocean and within walking distance to plenty of restaurants. The room was moderately priced and surprisingly spacious. However, it could have used a comfortable sitting chair. The bathroom was fine; although it had an updated sink, there was zero counter space for toiletries. The bed was large but definitely in need of an update, and there was no blanket provided, so I was a bit chilly during the night. Overall, I would still recommend staying here for the positives. We left a note on our reservation confirmation at time of booking that we would be arriving after midnight to check in for our stay. When we arrived at 1:30 in the morning on Friday, the employee at the front desk had no record or print out that we would be arriving for our reservation, it took 45 minutes for him and through a phone call to another employee to figure out what room we would be staying in and how he could make us a room key. The next morning we were moved to our correct room for the rest of the day. The staff that we interacted with during the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday were polite and helpful. The situation we encountered when we arrived for our reservation very early on Friday morning was frustrating, unprofessional, and exhausting. The room that we reserved was comfortable once we were able to get access to it, however, in general, the hotel was not very clean and my overall impression is that it is mismanaged. There were dead bugs in lots of common areas, our toilet trickled water all night, thin walls and ceilings. I would not recommend staying here nor would I stay here again. read more

The Aqua Blue...more like the Aqua Blows. Our room smelled like mildew and was very moist despite the air conditioning running the entire time. The furniture and rugs had more stains than a paint store. The garbages in the lobby and out front were over flowing. The front desk "help" was very unfriendly and unaccommodating. There was one sweet evening shift woman when we checked in, other than her the only other positive was that the water pressure in the shower was excellent. The boards on the outdoor deck were warped with nails sticking out. Do yourself a favor and pass on this hotel or plan on getting a tetanus shot before you go. Our experience at this well located poorly run hotel was, to be nice, bad. The lobby was 95 degrees, the tv in the room did not work and the pool - was not in operation. It reminded me of the water on the swamp thing. As for the on premise restaurant, umm, one would have hoped it was open, but alas just like the pool, it was closed. I would and should have just slept in my car. Save your money and stay home. If zero stars was an option, it still would have been too nice. read more

One of the worst places I've ever stayed!! This hotel needs some serious renovation. The lobby looked fine but once you get into the hallways and see the rooms, it's so old and outdated. The bathroom door had a broken crack and it was really hard to shut. The toilet was very hard to flush- you had to hold down on it for a good 5 seconds or more. Annoying to do in the middle of the night. The bathroom was the size of a small closet. Only one person in there at a time and there was no counter space. The room itself was dirty. The carpet was stained and the bedsheets had a hole in it! Gross!! I also got 3 nose bleeds during my stay because the air was so stuffy and dry. I ended up getting a bad cold. I couldn't wait to get out of there. We only stayed here because the wedding party was here. Otherwise I would have ran far away from the other reviews on here! The staff was not friendly and was incompetent. I told them that I had used an old credit card to book my room and that I have an updated card now but it took them forever to upload a card in their system. I tried to print out something with the common computer and printer downstairs but they still use dial up so the WiFi wasn't working. Shocker. Who still uses dial up and a 1995 year old computer? The pool and hot tub is disgusting. It doesn't even look like it's been cleaned in years. I would never go in there. This place is terrible. It made me so sick staying here. The hotel is not what they present it or offer it to be. The rooms are motel style, carpet and a weird moldy smell. The front lobby was ok, smelt fine but as soon as you got into the elevator, it gave moldy, nursing home smell. The front desk was friendly. The location is beautiful but this hotel is horrible. 100% worse hotel experience of my life. I travel a lot and I've never been spoken down to quite like I was by the front desk. I was put in a different room than I booked and paid for, when I asked for a manager the girl went to the back and came back out to tell me her manager said there was nothing they could do.... That would have been a good time for the manager to come out and speak with me in person, not play a game of telephone with a rude teenager as the go between. There were ants in the room, it smelled damp, and honestly the view wasn't worth the money or the service. Customer service was extremely sub par. Very Inattentive, actually we felt ignored when we 1st arrived in the lobby. They avoided eye contact with us & didn't say anything to us. We where looking around the lobby at the pretty furniture & decor when we walked up to the front seat they seemed disturbed & annoyed that we were arriving at 2:45 when checkin wasn't till 3:00. It got better when we eventually were given our room 45 min later but I think it was because we were out of their hair. Not one of the 3 desk attendants were interested in ever helping us throughout our entire stay. On the way out there was a huge scene where a maintenance man was extremely annoyed about not being paid or response back from the owner of the hotel & said the place was crumbling due to the cockroach infestation. Not the best experience here. TV in our room didn't work and we were told nothing could be done about it. We were told to try turning it on on the TV itself because the remote could be finicky, so we did that, red TV light turned on, but it stayed black. Never worked. Upon first entering the room, one of the four coffee pods for the machine had been used and they were all decaf. I'm giving an extra star because the lady at the front desk tried her best to help us, even found some coffee pods for me, so we were at least grateful to her for that. This is a one-star motel dressed up as a 4. Best part is the location. Being right by the beach, nice restaurants, and a walkable shopping area was great. Smooth check-in, clean quiet room, very central convenient location for Narragansett shore.

Let's start off with how hot it was inside the lobby and hallways. Also had a moldy smell. We visited with family and we had four rooms booked. We went to settle into our room and the door was open with a warning tag on it. There was a maintenance guy passing by so I got his attention and he immediately tried to get us a new room. After trying two other rooms the front desk said was available we finally got one, however it was never cleaned when the previous guests checked out. This whole process was 45 min or more. The room that we finally got was on a different floor that the whole family was on. I'm assuming the woman who came up with two of the front desk staff was the manager and seemed so angry she never introduced herself. She offered champagne for the inconvenience..... the two front desk staff thought the whole matter was funny when they walked by they were fooling around. The maintenance guy went above and beyond for us and when we visited the pool which was just okay and it was warm he made sure everyone had pool towels. The only good thing about the hotel was the location. Would not recommend. read more

I was a little skeptical because of the mixed reviews on hotels.com but decided to give it a shot because of the location across the street from the sea wall and Narragansett Town Beach. I checked in at 2pm on 3/2/24 and the woman at the reception desk was very nice, welcoming, pleasant and professional. She even came to my room and immediately fixed the problem I was having with the TV (someone apparently changed the input source). She was great. They have free onsite parking infront of the building. The lobby was very clean, modern and spacious. The room was modern, very very clean, comfortable, spacious and had nice amenities. There was a coffee maker, good sized fridge, safe, nice closet organizer, iron, the bed was extremely comfortable and the shower pressure was great. The indoor pool area is not huge but adequate, clean and the room temperature was perfect. The pool was clear, clean and temperature was perfect (not too cold and not too warm). The hot tub is not huge but clean, clear and perfect temperature. The hallways were very clean and in nice condition. Only thing that I would say property needs some attention on is the hotel deck area which is closed for the winter and back side of the hotel could use a power washing but looks like they are replacing exterior with vinyl shingles and would think deck area would be worked on before spring/summer so being winter still give 5stars for a very pleasant experience and would definitely go back. read more

I am currently staying at this hotel. My balcony door lock is broken so we called front desk to fix and she told us there is nobody to fix. They suggested us to called back in the morning. We asked her for room change and she told us there is no room available. We DON'T FEEL SAFE sleeping knowing that our balcony lock is broken. So, we asked her if hotel will take full responsibility when some thing happen to us? She said yes... omg It's 10:30pm at night. We are hopeless and we cannot find any other hotel. This place has a big rep as a wedding venue, but I was very disappointed in a supposedly 3-star hotel. Their wifi didn't work, and the manager and one snippy desk attendant (the other was the soul of politeness) informed me mine was the only computer they'd ever had that wouldn't connect. This claim was dismissed by the nice hotel maintenance guy, who said many guests had had problems with it. The next day, I tried my wifi in the local library and the Amtrak station and it worked perfectly! Moreover, the hotel upkeep was sloppy. The clock in my room was not set on Daylight Saving Time, even though we had made the change 2 weeks earlier. I had to get a new clock from housekeeping, as the first one was impossible to reset. Also, there was what we thought was a burned-out light bulb in my room, and it turned out the electrical system was faulty. There was morning coffee, but I had to draw attention to the fact that there were only 2 paper cups for the entire hotel. All these kinds of things should be attended to as a matter of course in a well-run establishment. The manager always managed to be conveniently absent when I tried to request a partial refund for all of the inconveniences (this was suggested by the nice maintenance man). I left my phone number when I checked out but of course never got a call back. I would never stay here again and would discourage anyone else from doing so. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here this past weekend. It was a good location, right next to the Town Beach, and within walking distance of a handful of food places. Parking lot wasn't huge, but they gave parking tags indicating we were staying there so regular beach goers couldn't steal spaces which was nice. However, the hotel itself was not my favorite. The a/c made the room super damp (even after turning the cool air on to the "dry" setting") so our clothes / bed sheets always felt slightly wet. Technically there was Wi-Fi but it was not the best connection/ speed that a hotel should have. When you have to reload an episode of a TV show on your computer 4-5 times it becomes very annoying. There claimed to be an ice machine on the second floor however I was unable to find it, and there was no water fountain or other way to refill my reusable water bottle. Overall I feel like the hotel should have been a better in these regards, especially for the price of the stay. read more

This place is disgusting. The ONLY thing going for them is the location which is walking distance from the beach. But where do I even begin. Here we go: 1. Rooms are really filthy and by 5pm they still hadn't serviced our room. We called them twice to make sure they'll come clean it they snapped at us and said yes. They NEVER came. When we told them the next morning that no one came to service the room and change our sheets she answered "well we don't change the sheets." We told her that was besides the point no one even made the bed. 2. The deck is nasty and it's grossly carpeted. There's a few chairs but really there's nothing up there. 3. They don't have toothpaste to offer guests so make sure to pack your own. Even motels have toothpaste when you ask but they looked at us like we were insane (after paying $650 for two nights) 4. The phones don't work. 5. We didn't have a shower curtain and there were no towels when we first got to the room. 6. Stay away from the first floor because the chlorine smell in the rooms is pretty bad. The pool is also very dirty and musty. Stay away. read more

We had booked a last minute one night stay in the Wave rooms for September 2017 for $188 plus tax. The room was a good size, was quiet and had a comfy bed. The recent renovation was probably just refurnishing with new furniture because the paint was chipped and cracked and the hotel overall smelled musty/moldy combined with a ton of chlorine bleach as if there was a flood they were trying to fix. The pool area was clean. The breakfast was basic. I think if you are looking for a good location at a comparatively lower price than Newport hotels and want to stay on the coast, this is a good option. It's definitely a 2-star conference center trying to market itself as a luxe hotel, but it's not. read more

You come here for the location. That's about it. Beach, shops, and restaurants, are right outside your door and that can't be beat. Rooms are fine, a little outdated, but clean and the ocean view is beautiful. The main deck overlooking the ocean is really fabulous. However, the indoor pool is super cloudy. There is no maintenance staff (the front desk told me they had all just been fired) and you have to put a sign on your door if you want your room made up which they conveniently forget to tell you when you check in. There is a tiny sign at the front desk which I didn't see until I checked out. I do think the rooms are quite overpriced and hoped they would offer more amenities or some better service for the price. They seemed quite understaffed and like the hotel could use a refresh or upgrade or some new energy. It could really be amazing but it's like they are just doing the minimal to keep it running. If we were coming back for a day or two we'd probably stay here again but anything longer than that we'd consider some other options. read more
