We spent 2 night here and appreciated the historic building and unique room that was large and had a great view. The lady at the front desk loses a star for her ...abruptness. It's just okay. The room was odd, toilet and sink in different rooms. They advertise beach access but it's BS. You'd have to drive or walk to the beach and pay just like everyone else. The breakfast is a joke, not much offering, bagels and muffins only. No cereal, juice or anything else. Good enough for a few nights but I wouldn't go back. read more

Waay overpriced and not worth what they charge!!! The first time we stayed here was a couple of year ago and overall was great and reasonably priced and they have a great restaurant. The recent second stay was for my birthday at the end of May they charged $600 for a Friday night. The room was clean but over the kitchen which was loud with music playing and pots clanging and a crummy view so not a good experience at all. I spoke to woman when checking out and she apologized then laughed it off which I thought was not very professional and did not offer any compensation. Stayed here in July. Paid $400/night for a 2nd floor room in the rear, adjacent building. Would not return. PRO: 1. Location. Ocean view from our balcony (altho you mostly see the parking lot and road). Half mile walk to Narragansett beach. Easy walk to Crazy Burger and Boone St Market. 2. Beds and pillows were comfortable. 3. Minisplit for AC worked great and was very quiet. 4. We enjoyed a lovely dinner on the deck of the restaurant, overlooking the ocean. Food was very good and our server was wonderful. CON: 1. Parking. There is one spot per room, but I watched as non-guests parked to visit friends. The spaces next to the main building were full when we arrived, so we had to park behind the adjacent, motel building where parking is extremely tight, and you can only back out all the way along the lot. 2. Cleanliness. When we arrived there was black and pink mold in the shower, hair in the corner of the bathtoom, a used bandaid next to the dresser, smears of dried something on both shelves in the fridge, multiple dead bugs on the floor, and the track for the sliding door was full of debris and bugs. The glass of the sliders could use a clean, also. 3. Shower door would not stay shut our first night because the rubber stopper in the track was out of place. We had to use all the towels to sop up the floor and wring water into the toilet, and then the front desk told us they could only give us two more towels. Even after -I- figured out how to keep the shower door closed, it still leaked water all over the floor. 4. Sink. The sink is maybe 8 inches deep, but the faucets protrude most of that width, as does the shelf over it. So it is literally impossible to stand/lean over the sink to brush your teeth or wash your face. We got water ALL over the floor every time we used it, yet again, having to use up towels to mop the floor. It was super uncomfortable and awkward to use the sink - most of the time, I was bashing my head against the faucet handles. 5. Breakfast. The "breakfast" consisted of plain bagels, packets of cream cheese, and a bowl of apples. On the second day I noticed some packets of instant oatmeal. The coffee was pretty good, but the breakfast was sad. 6. To top it off, I was not given the printed hotel information upon check-in, so I did not know the Wi-Fi password (until I called the front desk to ask), did not know the hours for "breakfast", and did not know that you had to put your "please service" magnet on the door by 8 AM. Definitely would come back here. My boyfriend and I booked a room for a weekend to celebrate our anniversary and just to check out the local area. The view and location were great but I won't stop talking about our experience with the concierge Mike. Mike has a good sense of humor, is very friendly, caring and patient. Had the pleasure of staying here for a few days in April. The staff have been truly amazing and hospitable attending to any and all of our needs during our stay. The view and access to the oceanside are perfect as is the general location to all the local businesses in the beachside area. Isabella and Micheal have been awesome during our stay. Walking distance to the Coast Guard restaurant (also highly recommended). Will definitely come back when we visit Narragansett again. Overall a great experience. read more

Stayed there last week during the height of the local "Northeaster". Day staff lady and night staff gentlemen (Michael Tuesday night and new guy Wednesday night) were excellent and very professional. Reportedly under new management which might explain why our first room didn't have a working television (important when you are rained in...). They moved us to a similar room, as in the past was nice and clean, but no soap in the shower and not all the lights in the room worked. Rooms in the past were always ready for guests. Parking may be a new issue, as despite issuing parking tags to display in our car, staff parked right in front of entrance to patio rooms Wednesday night during height of storm. Even though a management person was there training new guy Wednesday. read more

It's clean but not quiet. If you're on the ground floor you have people above you with a patio that over hangs your door. You hear everything. TV, conversations, showers, thumping, etc... They also have chase loungers set up out side each room so people can set up shop right out side your room. The room is not dark, the window coverings fit the interior of the window so the porch lights seeps in and you have a halo of light around the window. There's a window in the sink area without a covering and light come in through that. Don't get me going on how useless the sink is. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is the view! I've been here twice now and very disappointed with the menu, food and prices! Tonight my husband went. We started with drinks. My tiny glass of pinot grigio was way overpriced. And the olive in his martini had a huge pit on it!! He almost broke a tooth! The waitress was nice and felt bad but the bartender said that olives could always have pits! Really lame! The manager did take the drink of our bill. The chowder was tiny with no clans and $10. The caesar was served with no dressing until I asked for some. At that point we decided we had had enough...$42 plus tip! We left hungry but had a view. I would not recommend this place! Excellent... some of these bad reviews are a joke, it worried us too, but saw the great ones n took a chance. We had a great stay, staff was very friendly. Even came over to explain how the heat worked, it's right on the ocean, our room was out back still nothing to complain about... room was super clean n very different than most hotels. Love the no carpets. No hotel should have carpets ...view of ocean is eh from room, it's really only about 50 yards to water. There's a nice lil sitting area in front of every room. The view from the front porch of main hotel is great. Sat in morning n had our coffee just relaxing. Bed was super comfortable, shower hot n powerful. I definitely recommend it's a great gem n prices are way better than a lot around. Maybe if your a snob ... go elsewhere! read more

Still a fan but my zeal has been abated. The prices were raised this summer too. A fabulous unobstructed view if the bay, nice wrap around porch, Adorondack chairs pepper the front lawn, nice landscaping. The 2nd flor rms w private mini decks are the best! Still cozy but looking dated & definately requires a refresh. The main building is my fave but the exterior building in the rear is ok if you have more than two traveling. Pretty quiet too on wkends which is relaxing. The service wasn't there this time. No wifi! Tiny shower. No upgrade offered even though we were the ONLY guests in the main house! Toilet ran periodically. Bathroom window was stuck & wouldn't open. One of the other windows in our room had an air conditioner but was poorly affixed to the window opening. Free coffee wasn't very good & they actually ran out of cream. No reading material- not even the Sunday paper. A few fixes & attention to detail would make a real difference. read more

Stayed in Narragansett to have an easy trip to the Block Island ferry and was willing to spend one night at a glorified motor inn. Stayed in room 9 which is directly off the kitchen, but the room was clean and quiet and big. The king size bed much more comfortable than another night with family. Only 3 stars because they really skimp on extras. 4 small pillows on a king size bed. No clock radio, no shelf in a rather large bathroom, and the tiny little sink gad no ledge. The location was terrific and we had a great, possibly hearty wa lk to the beach. Picked up dunkin donuts and enjoyed breakfast on the front porch. Note, Monday night free concert on Narragansett beach was fun and walkable. read more

We have stayed numerous times at the motel at Ocean Rose Inn. The rooms are immaculate, the beds super comfortable, everything updated. The room and shower are smaller than traditional chain motels but the location makes up for any inconvenience. We like the balcony motel rooms great view of the ocean from your balcony. I love the surf board decoration above beds. A couple of small annoyances. The town has a spotlight aimed at the motel parking lot. Sitting on balcony at night to enjoy the moonlight is impossible with spotlight shining on you. (Curtains in motel are thick and room does stay dark). No microwave in room. Bathroom sink is stylish and fun but it doesn't work well - faucet allows water to splash all over floor due to the very small sink basin. No closet. Pricing off season is still high. But the view and location right on the sea wall in Narragansett is worth the extra $$. We will definitely return again. read more

ok guys gonna be real here... dead flies on the stairs going up to our room ( many of them), not one room cleaned today in the whole property, and a line of people at front desk ( the poor kid working the desk) the situation so beyond him.. one families room was not cleaned for 3 days and they had kids at beach sand all over etc. not sure how they are charging $$$$$ per night.. we thought hotel was a family owned business but when we found out it was part of a massive hotel group .. well horrified.. come on guys get it together ( $800 per night for a dirty ocean front room with no maid service for days is just not cool) i think all the good review are bs.. and the resturaunt is completely seperate from the distaster of the hotel read more

The front desk lady was so unbelievably rude that if my wife had an already paid the next nonrefundable deposit I would've left immediately. It really doesn't matter how nice the rooms are the customer service is not there it ruins the entire experience which is the case at this establishment. Seriously this lady should be terminated. HIDDEN GEM! I cannot say enough about this place. My boyfriend and I started coming last year, as we found the rates incredibly reasonable for the location. We have always stayed in the renovated main building, and were honestly wary of our room in the annex building which was available tonight. Incredibly tasteful room with a California surf vibe.. think vintage appliances with clean white sheets & an actual surfboard on the wall. A private deck overlooking the water was a huge bonus. A/C & WIFI. There is also an unrelated restaurant on site, Turtle Soup. Tavern fare with cocktails. Highly recommend both places! read more

Place was great - some of these other reviews seem off base and potentially pre-renovations. Our room was just done, great shower, air conditioned, clean, plenty roomy. Location is great (uber to Newport or Port Judith for ferry to block), walking distance to coast guard house and crazy burger, among others. Lot of staff around so getting questions answered was always easy, and I had no trouble switching my weekend after a family matter forced us to cancel. Some things to be aware of: Sound machine helps as sometimes footsteps could be heard on upper floors. Just blinds, not shades on windows, so a little bright in morning. Also just fyi Ubers take a while so budget in plenty of time. This inn fits the vibe of Narragansett in general, so if you want to be treated like royalty, maybe you can find that in an even more overpriced room in Newport, but O.R. has all that you need for a reasonable price in a prime location. read more

Avoid this hotel. The way it is described is completely misleading - don't fall for it like we did. The rooms are very dated, tiny, and carpeted. They smell of old closet and humidity. Our room is advertised to comfortably sleep four, but is equipped to house one very sad adult. The beds in our room were not side by side, but on opposite sides of the room. There is no closet, but an open shelf with 4 hangers. And it is the ONLY shelf. There is no space to set the toiletries, nowhere to lay out clothes except for an old dresser with very narrow drawers. The bathroom is so tiny that it's only fit for a petite adult. As one sits on the toilet, their knees are under the sink. The shower is smaller than a tanning booth. We also had a surprise in our room - self flushing toilet. It would flush approximately every 10 minutes making for a heck of a night for a light sleeper like myself. There is no space to hang the wet towels - there was only one broken off hook mounted on the back of the bathroom door. Guests staying in this room should also be prepared to make a choice between charging their phone, having the light on or the alarm clock. You cannot have all three as there are not enough outlets. If you are unlucky to be sleeping on the bed that is not across from the TV you don't even have an outlet to unplug things from in favor of charging your phone, not to mention not being able to see the TV. Another disappointing thing is that we were not able to use the AC at night as it was blowing right on that "opposite side" bed. As we were not given any blankets, only sheets, one cannot have AC blowing on them all night. In conclusion: this hotel had dampened our whole weekend... read more

Miserable stay. We visit Narragansett often and decided to try a new spot. Bad move. Upon checking in, my credit card was charged multiple times for our 3 night stay. I was assured all but one charge would be refunded. Overnight, we got 2 hours of sleep thanks to a bunch of drunk frat boys swearing and banging and yelling. After calling the front desk at 2:30 am, nothing was done about the noise. Today, our room was never cleaned by staff. And only after I asked did I learn that no one had refunded me for the multiple charges. While the room itself is cute and retro, it's definitely not large enough for 2 adults and 2 children. We're really struggling to find the positives here. read more

Stayed here for a single night. The price was outrageous for what we got. We were relegated to the weird motel building behind the nice beachfront house, so our view was essentially a parking lot. There was mold/grime in the bathroom, the windows out were so filthy you couldn't even make out the ocean if you tried, but since the view was mostly of the other building I guess who cares? We went to the restaurant and they were SUPER understaffed. The server we had was a gem though, so friendly even though dismal delays. Food was okay. Would not stay here again. BEWARE. read more

My fiance and I stayed at this hotel for a wedding in town last weekend. We were excited to check it out because it was pretty expensive, so we assumed it would be nice. We were very wrong! We were shocked to see the condition of the room and bathroom for almost $150-$200 a night. I understand it's priced high for it's location, because the view is beautiful, but the room was definitely not worth it. The room was more like a motel 8, with dirty lamp shades, beds that I wondered if they were really clean, and no closet (but it had an exposed bar with 5 rusty hangers to hang our clothes- I guess at our own risk. No iron or ironing board either. The bathroom was the worst part... The sink was practically falling off the wall and the shower was big enough to stand in. I literally had to shut the water off to shampoo/conditioner my hair then turn it on; and forget about having room to shave my legs! I wore my flipflops in the shower because I was confident that it was clean. Also, we told the owner about the sink being lose (because we didn't want it to fall and be charged for it) and she had her handy man look at it, and he said it was fine, I quote him "It has screws underneath so it won't fall and the cocking had worn off due to heat. Just make sure you don't sit on it or anything". The only good thing about this hotel was the main restaurant. The Turtle Soup was delicious and the bar at night, on the front porch area was great. Service in the restaurant and bar were great too. I'm not sure if the rooms in the main home/hotel were nice (they were even more money) but don't get fooled into staying in the basic rooms for the price. I have enjoyed this hotel for many years because of the great location in walking distance to the beach. I was surprised and very pleased with decor of the updated rooms over the past few years. ( retro decor and super cute). On one occasion our visit was a little less than it usually (in part because I should have called the desk about a noise issue) I called the next day and spoke with the manager who went above and beyond for me. She offered a partial refund and has worked with me to ensure my subsequent stays this summer were seamless and they have been!! Alyssa as my summer 2019 winds down way too quickly I hope I get one more overnight with you and I hope you're still there next summer when I'm ready to relax again!!! Avoid, stay away, run (don't walk), duck, waddle somewhere else. There is major misrepresentation going on here. Look at the web site? Nope that's not where you are probably staying. Look at the travel portals - wrong again. So the reviews here are inaccurate in part. Anything above two stars must be relatives, friends, or employees. Here's the drill. The main B&B like hotel is an old victorian place in disrepair. Think Frat House. Lovely architecture - but needs a cool $2 mill for refurb. But that's not the "pleasant surprise". There is an old strip - motel like - building off the water, off the beach behind the parking lot. That's where half or more of the guests stay who book at this "inn". It's not an inn. Its not even motel 8. Make the mistake of doing this in August and you're short $300 for a double. Whoa! I will take pictures in the daylight of the bathroom and fixtures. This is a $80 room at max... in all full fairness. The rip off is going on full fledged here. Olympic exaggeration with a splash. Don't believe - LOOK AT GOOGLE EARTH, check out the rocks on the "beach". See the parking lot that doesn't allow for enough parking. See the motel structure. It's all there. read more

What a HUGE disappointment. We are Rhode Islanders and have eaten here before. Never been wowed, but never been disgusted either...until today. Stopped in for lunch. The beet salad with grilled salmon was a JOKE. For $9 plus an additional $8 for the salmon, it was the size of an appetizer. It's supposed to come on a bed of spinach. I kid you not, there were maybe 10 spinach leaves. The waitress was less than apologetic and told us that's what you get for the price. My husband's flat bread pizza was equally disgusting. Don't waste your time or money on an establishment that clearly takes no pride in its food or service. Will NOT be coming back and will make sure none of our friends and family dine here either. read more

Stayed at the Inn Sep 13th in one of the rooms at the front of the main building, the room was very comfortable and had spectacular views of the ocean right across the street. Location is fabulous. Views are terrific. Outdoor bar and seating is casual, welcoming and wonderful. Updated rooms are lovely. Worse mattress. Rest of Inn is old and shabby. NO consistent wifi in room (non existent most of the time). Explanation was funny: oh, too many people in restaurant must be using the wifi, only one router! Little hot water first day after beach, explanation was even funnier: oh, between hours of 5-8 pm the restaurant uses a lot of hot water for dish washer and there is only one hot water tank. Wasn't cheap so the answers were unsatisfying but the manager was trying very hard and was nice. read more

This review is for the restaurant only; we didn't stay at the inn. My husband and I ate here during lunch hour. Very few people so we thought we'd at least get service right away. Wrong! We were seated on the porch side which was nice - we enjoyed the ocean breeze, so in terms of atmosphere - that was good. The food, however, could have been better. I ordered the crab cakes appetizer - which was extremely disappointing. It was probably 5% crab and the rest breaded "cake". I may as well have ordered bread since there was hardly any crab at all. For $10 - that was way overpriced. My husband had the lobster and shrimp roll - it was ok; a bit mayoey, but ok and overpriced for what he got. Clam chowder was good. The service - that was EXTREMELY slow. There weren't that many people so service should have been better. My husband ordered beer and it took 25 minutes! Seriously?! 25 minutes?! We had other places to go to, and we were there for close to 2.5 hours - and that was because we just kept waiting for our drinks and food! Such a beautiful find! I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews because our experience was wonderful! I can only assume the negative reviews are pre-renovation. We did not stay in the main house but in the building behind the main house (which was clearly explained at booking). Our room was immaculately clean and we loved the vintage beach house feel. Everything was updated in the room - shower, air conditioning, mattress, TV, and furnishings. There were very cute and simple touches to the decor that really made it feel like a beachside getaway. We interacted with 2 or 3 staff members at the desk who were all incredibly friendly and accommodating! We didn't eat at the restaurant but enjoyed sitting outside later at night having a drink and relaxing on the adirondacks. The location is perfect and the view is beautiful. It is walking distance from The Towers, shopping, and restaurants! We can't wait to return! read more
