I gave them 5 stars initially. Now, less than 2 years later, a leak in the roof damaged the ceiling in my family room. I reached out to Phoenix over a month ago, and no one has come to see the damage or make repairs. One of the owners of the company put me in touch with someone who worked on my job, but no longer works for them. Someone was supposed to come by this past Saturday (3/7/26) to assess the damage. That person was a no call/ no show. Phoenix is failing to stand behind the work they perform and failing to honor their warranty. If you're thinking about using them, consider yourself warned.

They would also navigate the home insurance aspect of the roof damage. They did a great job with the shingle color and roof damage. Unfortunately, their customer service is non-existent. It has been over a year since the job was done and I continue to have water pour into my basement because they never would come out to attach my gutter to my downspout. Many excuses, such as we're busy, it was that way (never had water in that part of the basement), and I've easily spent $500 on ways to keep rainwater from doing more damage in that basement area. It is a 10 minute fix. Their lack of concern over their incomplete job is egregious, but when it came time for me to pay out of pocket expenses, the owner contacted me personally. Other than that, over the course of last summer and early fall they were unresponsive to the problem they created. I am a disabled veteran, 68 years old, who doesn't need any more difficulties in life than I already have. Several handymen have said the job is too small for their time, and two roofing companies would not touch what United Veterans Roofing should correct. My last option is spending money to have the gutter and drains totally replaced in order to stop rainfall from major storms coming into my basement. I sought the advice of an attorney as well. It is just a sad, frustrating experience with this company that has caused cleanup problems for me, as well as spending money on supplies to soak up the excess water under my unattached downspout as well as inside my basement in that area, much less a contractor fan to try to dry the affected area quicker. I do not recommend their company because of unresponsiveness in completing their job.

Hired Penn Valley Engineering on March 23, 2026 for a structural engineering inspection and…read morenarrative report (SEN) at an agreed fee of $785. Inspection was completed March 26. Report was due within 5-7 business days per the written agreement. On March 28, I received Invoice #4534 dated 03/26/2026, showing a $0.00 balance due and stamped PAID -- Penn Valley's own invoice considered the account settled at $785. Buried in the invoice fine print was a "$50 charged for returned checks" -- the first mention of any such fee, appearing after the contract was formed and after the check was issued. When the check did not clear, Brad demanded $870 -- $785 plus $85 in fees. This contradicts his own invoice which states $50, not $85. Neither figure was disclosed in the original agreement. Pennsylvania law (18 Pa.C.S. § 4105) caps returned check fees at $50 and requires the fee to be conspicuously disclosed at the time the check is issued -- buried invoice fine print sent after the fact does not meet this standard. When I questioned the $85 fee, I was told "if I have to explain what is involved when this happens the price will go up." I paid $820 via Zelle on April 3 -- the full $785 plus $35 as a good-faith accommodation. As of May 4, 2026 -- 40 days after the inspection and 31 days after full payment -- no report has been delivered and no communication received. I paid promptly. I cooperated fully. I have received nothing.
