OK here it goes : - ( .... I do have to say that the owner was very attentive and extremely nice but the wife never smiled or help her husband with serving the customers. She on the other hand was great at chatting and gossiping with another half drunk lady in the back table about last night Mexican Novelas. To after having Barbacoa and even Birria the keys is not so much the meat but the Salsas and the most important thing to me in a sit down place like this is making the corn tortillas from scratch. I hate to write bad reviews but I have to say that the tortillas were horrible. like I said if the corn tortillas were made to order my rating would of been better, I had better in other restaurants south of the border so I can rate this place how I taste. I do have to say what they saved them was the consome which was very hot and tasty just like I love it. I ordered a guitlacoche and flor de calabaza quesadilla but then again the nasty old mexican tortilla killed the great flavors of the corn, zuq and the cheese..... The maciza meat was flavorless and cold but the head was fatty and tasty. The biggest surprise was a table side herb called papalo which is a bitter tasty Mexican Arrugula. One thing I dont like in a restaurant is dint mix my Cilantro with Onion that drives me nuts. I want just cilantro not the onion please ; - ( .... I will have to say again the owner was a great host but the food was not great had better Barbacoa. Sigan comiendo Barbacoa ...... I also grew up with my my uncles and Grandpa that made Barbacoa from scratch and by the way that is the best way to eat Barbacoa de Borrego. read more

I heard about this place from a friend of mine. He warned me that the prices are a bit high, but I was still surprised when I received the bill. They're not a bit high, they're expensive, but as my friend said, you pay for what you get and the food you get is more than delicious - it's AMAZING! I've eaten Mexican food before, but all these dishes I tried here were absolutely out of this world. I tried the Mixiote or the paper wrapped chicken which was delicious as hell. The queso chicharron with all that melted cheese was just divine, I tell you. You definitely have to try it, or you'll regret it all your life! Next, I got the lamb barbacoa and I also enjoyed it very much. I went there with a couple of other friends and they opted for quesadillas and chicken taquito. I must say that they were the only ones who were not inspired at all. Both the quesadillas and the chicken taquito were OK, but there was nothing special about them. They did hit the jackpot with the horchata, which was homemade and tasted as nutmeg - yummy! You will find all sorts of different meats in the menu, including brain. I don't consume this kind of organs, but maybe some of you will enjoy them. The hot lamb broth that accompanies the entrees is extremely good and I am not usually attracted by anything containing lamb. The atmosphere is just OK, but you should avoid the lunch hours because it's way too busy and noisy. Aqui es Texcoco is a restaurant that I will definitely visit again and I recommend you to do so, too. read more

Thought this place would be good. my dad took us here because he saw the commercials on T.V simple as is nothing compared AS IN T.V... I asked for 2 quesadillas de flor de calabaza and the quesadilla had more cheese then flor! IF I WOULD HAVE ONLY WANTED CHEESE I COULD HAVE ASK FOR A SIMPLE QUESADILLA! I honestly think its a waist of money ! They're consome taste & smelled nasty ! when it smells bad its because they DO NOT KNOW HOW TO COOK IT ! The barbacoa had no taste or was salted ! & DRY ! I was reading some of the posts that say this food is bland and no flavor well they got the cilantro and onion mixture they got like 4 or ( different salsas and u can ask for jalapenos I love this place I've been going since they opened u gotta try the lamb head it is the best tortillas are good I'm Mexican I should know and this is a place where real Mexicans go eat the mushroom quesadilla is great I love onions and hot spices definately the best Mexican BBQ lamb joint u don't like it go to Freds or old town mexican cafe talk about no flavor or even worse Lolitas by Petco park the hot sauce suks arre pues es todo Gracias Shalom read more

Watched this place on TV when Andrew Zimmerman came there. I was so curious about the Lambs head I had to try it. My friend and I went on the weekend and waitress suggested the lamb broth with the meal. Also had the guacamole with cactus which was pretty good but I did not enjoy the cactus salad. Good meal overall. Only part of the lamb's head hard for me to eat was the tongue and underneath the mouth and also the brains tasted kind of weird. All together a good meal ad you have to get the sangria it was bomb! read more

La comida esta muy rica, el servicio siempre había sido bueno pero pa ultima vez que fui me atendió la mesera Carmen con pésima actitud. We came here for my husband's 30th birthday. We were greeted at the door with 'happy birthday' and found a birthday card on our table. This attention to detail put us in a great mood and the fantastic service continued throughout. The food was amazing. Lots of surprises and the little bite-sized courses between each 'main' course were so interesting. Expensive but worth every penny and you'll have plenty to talk about with your friends. read more

Aqui gets 5 stars for the floutas alone! I really enjoy dining here, weather I am feeing a casual bite to eat or taking friends out to celebrate. Plus, you can not beat their happy hour prices. My friend has said very good things about the barbacoa lamb (though I am just not a lamb eater so ICouldnt tell you myself). I saw Andrew Zimmern and Bill Esparza from Street Gourmet LA filming a show for the Travel Channel in Aqui es Texcoco. For what I could tell, they loved the food. I asked the server when the show will air, and told on August 2012. I can't wait to watch it. Also, Aqui es Texcoco has been proclaimed to have one of the America's Best Tacos by Rachel Ray. This place specializes in barbecue lamb. The lamb was delicious. I ordered the flautas with lamb. They roll their own it was amazing. Order a small bowl of the lamb consommé and you can dip your flautas in that, delicious. The service was very friendly and always asked if we needed anything. Again, the lamb is delicious. read more

I was blown away by the food at this place it's so delicious. the crispy quesataco filled with tender juicy lamb was full of flavor and the micheladas were on point. The restaurant is very nice and clean and very friendly staff. I will definitely come back soon. read more

First time here. The Menu is limited. Lamb meat is their specialty, I didn't know this. I ordered barbecue tacos, lamb of course. They were very good, tasty. I'm not a fan of this meat, but if you like it, you won't be disappointed. read more

Food didn't really have much flavor. The tortillas was really hard and came in a round container that wasn't clean. I looked like it wasn't washed good. I am a sucker for cleanliness and fresh tortillas and I didn't get either. read more

The meat here is well cooked, though needs a bit more flavor. The lamb broth they provide with the combo on the other is pretty salty. But in general, a good place, I can advise you to visit it. read more
