If you're looking for a high quality custom gate, AR Iron is a great choice! They're a great company that has been around for a while. The choices involved in doing a custom gate can be a little overwhelming. Size and shape are one thing, but things like coatings, locks and how the desert weather plays into all of it. I had a good idea of what o wanted, but when Ron came out to discuss the project, his experience and expertise helped a lot! He covered all the details and came up with a great proposal. Cost is all relative to one's perspective, but I felt they were very reasonable. Production time can vary depending on their workload - but it was well worth the wait. When they were ready to install the gate I received a phone letting me know their timing. They showed up on time and finished the installation with no issues! Throughout the process, communication was great and their entire team were nice to work with. I'd definitely recommend them!

If I could rate this company zero stars, I would. My husband called on 12/13 to request a quote to have his race car chassis sand blasted. No stripping or powder coating required, simply sandblasting. He was quoted $225 and told a one day turnaround was typical for such a simple project as they had done another one of these chassis previously. I dropped the chassis off around 9am on 12/17, told them he had called and was told the above information. They unloaded the chassis and I left. On 12/20 my husband called them for a status update as we hadn't heard them and were decently passed the "typical one day turnaround". The lady on the phone took his information, told him the guys were at lunch and that someone would get back to him. Nobody ever called him back. On 12/24, I called them. I was put on hold while the lady got Anthony. Anthony got on the phone and informed me that "they probably should have called, but their blast equipment went down and they had been unable to complete the work, but that it should be done on Thursday 12/26." I called again on 12/26 to see if it was done so I could pick it up and the lady placed me on hold, came back and said they were "having trouble removing "something" from the chassis." After this phone call I stopped by their facility to find out what the issue was and apparently their blast equipment wasn't powerful enough to remove the small amount of the previous powder coat residue that was still on the chassis and their blast equipment had again gone down preventing the project from being completed. Anthony advised me that it would be completed by 9am on 12/27. I arrived at their facility around 9:30am on 12/27 and Anthony informed me that the gentleman had still been working on it. I told him I was picking it up regardless of completion status as we were already TEN days into what we were told was a typical one day turnaround. I paid the $225 we were quoted, brought the chassis home and my husband has had to complete the chassis prep by hand as his blast cabinet isn't large enough (hence the reason we took it to them in the first place). Having worked construction in the valley for 10+ years, I have NEVER dealt with such an unprofessional metal company. Their lack of communication and commitment to completion is beyond frustrating. Would never do business with this company again. Photos are what the chassis looked like after being picked up and having been half-ass sand blasted.

If you're looking for the cheapest iron gates in town then AR Iron isn't for you. However, if you're looking for high quality, custom, iron works for your home then look no further! First of all, they're a family owned business that provides exceptional service from the minute you reach out to them. Here's my story: I have complained about the dated courtyard gate at our home for while. Not only is the style a real "blast from the past," but it also provides no security for our home. All of our neighbors have modern gates and exterior lighting while our home has maintained it's vibes from a bygone era. I called multiple iron companies in town in search of a custom gate that would modernize our courtyard. AR Iron really stood out because their estimator was professional and provided all the necessary documents for my HOA board. In addition, they created exactly the gate I was looking for. I'm extremely pleased and would recommend them for anyone considering custom iron work done. Finally, Debbie in the front office was seamless with the HOA approval and billing. You get what you pay for and with AR Iron you will get both an outstanding product and service!

I paid for a custom security door for safety reasons. The ironwork is beautiful, yes, but at no time was I told, I was responsible for filling the opening (the wood and nails are exposed - doesn't scream safety, no) where the original frame was located. I am saddened by the response I received by the person who returned my call. Perhaps when you meet with your customers in the future, communicate what you said to me: "We do not do woodwork...I can recommend a handyman to do the job...apply foam spray; it's easy...use blue tape to prevent paint from getting on the security door, because if paint gets on it, your warranty is no longer any good." Does this look like a job that's been completed? If I had been told in advance that I was responsible for filling the opening and putting up the molding, I would have had materials in hand and my handyman onsite once the install was complete. Do better. Response to response: And I would know this how? I am an elementary school teacher, not a door installer. Perhaps what you can take from this experience is that all customers are not savvy in security door installs, and sometimes require a bit of direction.

Got the name of this company from our homeowners association design review staff to manufacture and install a privacy screen on our wrought iron fence we share with neighbors on the other side of the fence. AR Iron was the only one of 3 companies I contacted who actually powder coated their products to ensure durability from the hot Las Vegas Sun and the freezing winter weather. That is why I went with them rather than their cheaper competitors. The staff, Ron and Jennifer, were especially helpful in getting the job organized and scheduled. AR Iron sent a crew and installed the screen on the appointed day and time and did it expertly. The entire process was uneventful. I like uneventful jobs!

Buyer Beware, Huge Gaps!!! We are disappointed in the quality of the work. They bought the door initially and stated the door latch did not fit. After taking it back to be adjusted at the shop, there are huge gaps. We were told to caulk the gaps. The security of the door is compromised, and caulking is not a security solution.

I wanted a security screen door but I wanted something more modern and unique. I found AR Irons on Yelp. When I saw that it was a woman owned business I called and scheduled an appointment for a free estimate. Ron came out on 11/24/20. It was a relief to see he took Covid safety precautions. He's been doing this for a long time and it shows. He had an immense amount of knowledge regarding the quality of their products. Once I chose a door, he took measurements and gave me the information I needed for my HOA. My HOA approved on 12/17/20 and I emailed the approval back to Ron. I can't give AR Irons 5 stars for 2 reasons. First, I feel like a woman owned company implies a woman is truly involved and making the day to day business decisions for the company. I'm not sure this is the case with AR Irons. I expected to see a woman's perspective somewhere. Maybe a female sales rep or maybe a woman installer but nope...nada. This may not be an issue for many people, but I work at a woman owned business and I purposely look to patronize other woman owned businesses. The second reason I can't give them 5 stars is because they did not follow up with me at all. I had to keep calling them to see what was going on after already giving a 50% deposit. I randomly called on Tuesday 1/19/21 and they literally told me, you're on the schedule for tomorrow. Really? No one told me. Like shouldn't you call to make sure the date and time works for the customer? Anyway, they came and it literally took these guys about 20 mins. and they were finished. It took a little patience on my part but I love the finished product.

Last year my newly driving teenager had a little run in with a freestanding neighborhood mailbox. I called Tony with AR Iron and asked if he would be able to fix it. Tony met me that day and after assessing the mailbox he found out that the materials were not able to be fixed by his shop. Without hesitation he called another shop that could fix it and they repaired it within a couple days. To my surprise, Tony and the crew at AR Iron came out and re-cemented the repaired mailbox in the ground. I can't thank AR Iron enough for their collaborative efforts and amazing customer service! The previous owners of my home painted the security doors with a roller, blocking up most of the holes in the mesh. When I went to Lowes and Home Depot and even Ace Hardware to buy replacement perforated metal to replace the screen, I was told that their suppliers don't sell the perforated metal by itself. I contacted a couple of security door manufacturers and got the same answer. So I tried getting the paint off the old screens. After about 3 hours I was almost 10% done and my angle grinder was dead. So then I had an idea to contact a local powder coating place to get the screens media blasted clean and powdercoated. When I contacted AR Iron and told Tony what I wanted, he asked why didn't I just buy replacement screen metal as it would probably be cheaper. I told him that I tried to and failed and he told me he had it in stock. He quoted me $100 each for the 2 28 3/4" x 78" screens, powdercoated. After some discussions, he came and picked up the old screens to use as a template. The next day, he called to tell me that the screens were ready and to arrange delivery back to my home. I paid $200 over the phone by credit card and when I got home, I found the 2 screens, exactly the right size, with the lock and hinge cutouts exactly matching the old screens on a movers blanket on my front patio. The blanket was to prevent any scratches to the powdercoat from the cement. I also found a whole bag (about double what I needed) of self-tapping mounting screws, powdercoated to match the screens sitting on top of the screens. I installed everything this morning and couldn't be happier. Tony and the other people I talked to were very professional and truly went above and beyond to make me more than just a happy customer, but an ecstatic one. read more

My large two piece side gate had come loose from its moorings due to shoddy installation when I moved into my house. Called AR Iron and they responded quickly for an estimate, spent a good deal of time with me explaining all the issues affecting the gate and what the repair would entail. It took three weeks for the crew to come out and fix it, but they did a really nice job and even puttied up the holes in the stucco where the originally installed bolts had come loose. So all I have to do is some minor paint work to cover the putty up. The gate looks as good as new. I would give AR Iron 5 stars for their work, but overall giving a 4 (which is still pretty good) because I hadn't heard from them after the estimated time to do the job had passed and had to call them to find out when they were coming out. Also, a tad pricey considering it took about 30 minutes to take apart the gate and reinstall, but that's Vegas for you. All in all though, happy with the work and would use them again if needed. read more

We live across the street from a park and the kids like to ring our door bell and run, I knew I wanted to enclose our entrance and I knew exactly how I wanted it to look not like a prison. I called several companies and only 1 company would come out and give me an estimate, it was AR iron so I went with them and I am thrilled, my entry gate is beautiful! Love our gates! The people at AR Iron were very professional and understanding of our situation. We ordered two gates, one single door, one double door. They fabricated the gates quickly and were able to install only the single because the project in our backyard hit a delay. Not only did they hold the double for us until we were ready, they installed it in a timely matter when we were finally ready. read more

I looked around for a company to powder coat my son's snare drum. A drum shell is something any of the other companies I checked with were not that interested in doing. I went to AR, they were great. The first staff that helped me, told me about the prep work, helped with the color, was very informative and detailed about the process, friendly, just great. The job was done two days before the estimate predicted. The office staff were great, friendly. The business is just a pleasure to deal with, old time professionalism, treat the customer great, provide a service with great value. I will talk these guys up to everyone I know! read more

I had a terrible experience with this company. I called them to come out to my residence for an estimate for 2 gates. The gates were to be installed on each side of my house. The rep came out (the owners son) and began asking the appropriate questions. He said his standard gates are $300 a piece, a panel or non opening gate is $150, if I wanted to additional options such as deadbolts etc those are $65 per side. He showed me a picture of the standard gate he offered and they were very nice. He said the gate comes in 3 different colors and it was my choice. The color was included in the price. He said if I wanted the gates he showed me, let him know by tuesday morning and pay my 50% deposit over the phone and he could have them installed at my house by thursday. He acknowledged my American West builders coupon for 15% off and said upon completion of the job, he'll need to take the coupon with him to give me my discount......NOW, here's where it goes downhill. He measured the openings where they were to install the gates so they could be fabricated. He measured wrong. They came out FRIDAY (a day late) with gates that were the wrong size. Fine, now I have to wail till tuesday for my new correct size gates. They came out tuesday and installed the correct gates without fail, BUT when it came time for final payment all hell broke loose. They agreed to give $50 dollars off the final price due to inconvenience of the wrong gates but they changed their story. All of a sudden the price they quoted me was wrong. The gates arent the "standard" gates. They were "custom" because off the "free" options i picked earlier all of a sudden cost extra. My gates were now $350 a piece and the mesh backing on the gate was $100. On top of all that, they lied and said American West called them and said I was looking for some gates lol. American West didnt even know I wanted gates. They said the price they quoted me already included the 15% discount that they had no idea about until after they quoted me prices. On top of all that, they installed one of the gates crooked. Bolted the damn gate to my house crooked! The receptionist is very mean and short with you and after all this took place the owner, Fred wouldnt let me finish saying what i had to say. VERY RUDE, VERY SHADY, VERY NON PROFESSIONAL. I have VERY beautiful CROOKED GATES FROM A CROOKED COMPANY. read more

Meet the Manager: Tony S.

Tony grew up in the ornamental iron business while his father managed another local iron company. In 1989 Fred and Sylvia Sclafani started AR Ornamental Iron. After playing college baseball and falling in love with his college sweetheart Tony decided to move home and work for his father. Tony has been employed with AR now for over 27 years. Tony started in the paint department cleaning steel. As the years past Tony worked in all aspects of the business. From installation, fabrication, CNC programming and operation, field supervision, powder coating, residential and commercial sales and general management. The Sclafani family has over 80 years of experience in the ornamental iron business. Tony resides in Henderson NV with his spouse Jessica and their two young adults Talia and Darrien.

When I got home to check the pressures, I noticed my custom black anodized valve stem caps had been replaced with cheap plastic caps. When I reached out to ask why, they said this "regularly" occurs. Let me see if we can find your caps. They found them within a minute. I said, this bothers me they would keep them. The person I was talking to said it wasn't intentional. Because we are working on so many vehicles in a day, things like are "regularly" missed. They said that I could come back to pick them up. After driving home and being in traffic for 45-minutes, I sure wasn't going to drive back 30-40 minutes then to drive back home another 45-minutes for $25 valve stem caps. It's disappointing that this is a "regular" issue. One would think...if this is a regular issue that a better handling process should be created. And if it was theft, that's at an entire different level of disappointment. Some of it is on me for not checking before I left. I'll re-order another set of valve stem caps to replace them. Outside of this small issue...their craftsmanship was awesome. I would have given them 5 stars.

Tony made sure to explain potential issues with my order because of the type of material they were made of. Luckily I wanted matte black and Tony explained that they normally spray that color several times a week so they could put my order in the oven with others. I told him I understood mine was a small order and he corrected me saying no mine was not a small order, it was another order. He made me feel like I was just as important as ANY other order, WOW! I got a call 2 days later that my order was ready and to my surprise each piece (4) was individually wrapped!! NX Level helped me get my HOA paperwork together and did some mock ups to supply. They also photocopied brochures and information on colors/styles so the HOA wouldn't come back to me with more questions. The day before the job Craig and I picked up all the plants from the nursery so those could be set where I wanted them. The team thorough with measuring, spray painting locations and details so location was important for my vision. The team worked very hard on my project, and paid attention to detail on my pavers. They were able to lay 2 types (front and back yard) and 2 colors in the backyard (Holland style). They planted many trees and shrubs, and set up the irrigation on multiple valves to ensure even watering and hopefully a long life for my plants! They laid turf, which is perfectly flat and stretched. They built a step up patio, and included under step lighting, tree lighting and walkway lighting. Thanks to Craig, his son Braxton, Armando, Ramon and team I now have a sanctuary backyard to enjoy. 1000% would recommend them. Finally, they don't just do the job, they make sure it's done right and they make sure the client is happy (me). They fixed a few things I didn't like so now I truly love everything. I also had a side gate removed, sandblasted and powder coated to match the new security gate and they made an old gate look brand new. AR Powder Coating did a awesome job on all of our parts for Kart. We race in SAE Mini Baja competition. They were friendly and were fast, parts were done before the date requested.
