The outside of this restaurant almost stopped me from going in. We went on a Friday night and the outside sidewalk and surrounding areas looked dirty and had a lot of people sort of hanging around doing random things. We parked in the parking lot next door, which also felt like not a great idea lol but it turned out to be fine. The restaurant actually looks like it was abandoned from the outside. But it was actually nice on the inside and the server was super friendly and welcoming. The food was really good, so it's unfortunate that the outside looks wild. The only food I didn't particularly like was the Makdous. I expected more walnut filling but it was mostly peppers and maybe one walnut per piece b

Ive eaten here before and thought it was good, but the time prior we had eaten take out. I will say the food is much better in person! We sat on the back patio which was nice, but service was a bit slow! I still enjoy this spot in the Mission.

Great food and great environment. Stopped by on my way home from work and was helped by Vito who answered all of my questions and recommended a spicy lamb/beef gyro. Will be back again for the great service a food.

Good food. Service good. Nice ambience Had the kafta w tahini and their appetizers good. Grilled chicken is ok (burnt from outside a bit)

Fun decor and great service! Music was quite loud, but they turned it down when we asked. Our server was very sweet. It was pretty dead on a Monday night at 6 PM; there was only one other table for the two hours that we dined in. Beef Shawarma with fries was alright, but the Mezze platter was good! Would come back or order delivery for their Baba Ghanouj and Hummus.

    Very tasty..

I was craving kabobs the other night. I ordered the chef sampler. I ordered mine with chicken and beef kabobs. It came with baba ghannoj, hummus, and French fries. I ordered a side of falafel also. The food was delicious and tasty. The chicken was full of flavor and very tender. The beef was seasoned well and also very tasty. I really enjoyed the baba ghannoj, and the hummus. The fries were perfectly fried and the falafel was amazing. The chef sampler comes with a lot of food. I ended up cutting the top of one of my flat breads and stuffed it with all my left overs. I had a huge pita stuffed to the top left over. The restaurant is really nice. They have a huge dining room and can accommodate big parties. They have a nice out side patio that you can eat at also. The vibe was just right. Over all I rate this place a 10/10. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was nice and quiet. The food was simply amazing. I recommend this place to anyone looking to eat good Mediterranean food. You won't be disappointed! But don't take my word for it. Get out there and give it a try.

The food in this restaurant is delicious! We had hummus, salad, kebobs, flatbread and everything was very very tasty! Also, the have a nice patio with heaters in a back!

Fresh baked pita bread - excellent!

Arabian Nights serves up halal Mediterranean fare. My group ordered hummus with meat, chicken taouk plate, kibbeh, baklava and knafeh. Service was a little slow as one customer ordered kibbeh after us and his order arrived first. Kibbeh ($12) - the kibbeh here consisted of seasoned lamb placed inside a shell of beef and bulgur wheat. All off this was deep fried. Taste wise it was good. The kibbeh here are on the smaller side, given their price point. Hummus with meat - $12 - the hummus here was rich and creamy and was perfect! The meat consisted of seasoned ground beef. Most places serve this dish with shawarma beef or chicken, but not here. The portion was on the small side given the price point. Freshly made pita bread was provided with the hummus and was very good as it fresh, hot and pillowy. Chicken Taouk - $19 - I was really impressed with how tender and juicy the chicken was. It had great flavor as well. I was disappointed they used short grained rice here and the rice didn't have much flavor. Some charred grilled veggies were provided as well. Baklava - $4 - at $4 a piece this was expensive. Although I appreciate that they used only pistachios for their filling, the baklava wasn't very crispy and was soaked in too much syrup. Knafeh - $8 - I love knafeh and the one here was disappointing. The top layer consisted of a crispy shredded phyllo dough layer and the bottom layer was an extremely thin layer of cheese. The simple syrup applied to the knafeh was too much and drowned out the whole dish. Overall I thought the food was over priced. They definitely need to work on their desserts and increase portion sizes by 40 to 50% on the other menu items. They also need to make sure customer service is consistent for all customers.

This is one of my favorite comfort food spots when I want Arabic food. There's always tables inside, but when the weather permits the outdoor seats are a great vibe and you can get shisha outside too. Favorite dishes: *Mezza sampler (or vegetarian sampler): the hummus and eggplant are so flavorful. The falafel are fresh, with great texture inside and crispy outside. *Bread: This is free but deserves a callout because it's properly baked and fresh; no thick pita bread. * lamb or chicken skewers: I've had both and they're both good. I think the lamb is a bit more moist. I prefer getting fries over rice *Knafeh: I get this often. It's not really the "best"; they make the khishneh get super crunchy but I wish there was more cheese. However it's still made welll enough. Overall: 5 rating for taste, vibes, price. I come back every ~2 months.

It's still open. Went in the other night

How about belly dancing in this restaurant?

They do not have belly dancing at this restaurant. However, there is a lovely and romantic hookah area in the back, separated so the smoke does not permeate the dining area.

We tried a few different dishes and enjoyed everything we ordered. The flavors were well balanced and the portions were generous enough to share, which made it easy to try a little bit of everything. The service was also warm and attentive, and the overall atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed. It's the kind of place that feels casual enough for a quick meal but still special enough to sit down and really enjoy dinner. They have a lot of outdoor seating as well (with heat lamps for the colder SF nights). Parking in the area can be challenging, would suggest to come for lunch instead of dinner.

They have a menu behind the counter that lists out all of the GF modifications (which is so helpful) just ask for it. You can also join the waitlist on yelp, which is a big time saver and so convenient. Why 3 stars then? I feel like they have become a victim of their own success. This place is tiny and it is PACKED. We were quoted a 70 minute wait time on a Sunday night. When our name finally came up we were offered a tiny table inside (outside table sidewalks are where you want to be, more room, good people watching) that could have fit two fine but was going to be a squeeze for 3 adults. We opted to wait for a bigger table/outside spot. Once you get a table then you have to go inside and wait in line to order. The space is small so expect to get bumped from every direction. The person behind the register was obviously stressed out and could not have been less friendly or less helpful. I asked for a glass of cabernet and she just said, we don't have it and stared at me. I asked if she could suggest another option and she did but it was a struggle. All of the workers seemed miserable. No one smiled, everyone seemed overworked and it was so hard to flag someone down if say your steak came out entirely raw, which mine did. It seems like the workers are either not getting the training or the support that they need to allow the overall experience to be good as the food.

The whole space felt so authentic and immersive. I found $18 parking a little down the street at a nearby hotel (as long as you leave before midnight), which worked out perfectly. We ordered a few things to share--the hummus was really good, and the salad with lemon was super fresh and light. The kebabs were also delicious, though I didn't eat too many since I was in a nice dress and the tables were more Moroccan-style--low with bowls rather than full tables--so it wasn't the easiest to cut the meat. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with groups of people and even private rooms around the space. I was surprised it wasn't more crowded, but my friend stayed later and said it picked up as the night went on--they even had karaoke at one point! There was also a belly dancer, which added to the vibe, though I think having a more professional performer who connects better with the music would really elevate the experience. The hookah was a nice touch too--they give you your own tip so you're not sharing, and even though I don't normally do hookah, it just felt right for the setting. Overall, the food was great, the ambience was beautiful, and the crowd was good energy. I'd highly recommend this spot for a group event, a social night out, or even a fun date--it's definitely an experience you won't forget!
