    Musakhan
    Derek L.

Delicious! Hearty meals to be had here. The musakhan is a spiced chicken dish served with roasted pine nuts, pita, and caramelized onions. I loved how juicy the chicken was and the crisp yet soft pita. Apparently this dish they claim is usually not found in restaurants so it was pretty special to eat it. I will be back to try more!

Can't go wrong with any of their dishes! Their entree platters all come with puta and hummus and I love their variety of spices and sides that pair with the main. Food comes out relatively quick despite there being a crowd since you do pay upfront before service.

I came here after a workout in the area and it hittt the spot. We were a party of three and ordered two plates plus a side of baba ganoush--and we were stuffed. The food came out quickly and was flavored to perfection. Everything had such good flavor, and each bite kept me wanting more and more. We all preferred the chicken plate over the beef kabob plate, but honestly both were amazing and I'd order them both again without hesitation. The baba ganoush was fresh and a pretty generous portion for a side dish. I can't wait to come back!

Omg not enough good things to say about this place!! I first heard about it though a family friend and now it's a must visit everytime I go to SF. The food is unreal, the flavors are amazing, and the ambiance is spot on. It literally feels like you walked into a family restaurant or a grandmas kitchen filled with love!! For 3 people, we got the chicken kabob and beef kabob as well and the musakhan! We devoured everything clean. Chicken kabob: so tender and flavorful and super juicy, not dry at all. Beef kabob: The beef was also had great balanced flavors and a good texture. Both came with rice and hummus which was absolutely delicious. You can tell the ingredients are super high quality and fresh. I appreciate that it comes with 3 kabobs and grilled veggies on them. The musakhan...I don't even know how to describe except that it was a 10/10, absolutely no notes! The chicken is so tender, the flavors all blend beautifully, and the bread is just the right texture of crunchy and chewy. We walked away super full and super happy. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Service is great and it's truly just a joyful experience! Don't skip this place, it's a must everytime I'm in the bay. It was about $90 for 3 people but so worth it!!

Order with the cashier, pay, get a number and your food will be sent to your table. We ordered the Chicken kabobs 5/5 - tender chicken drizzled with garlic sauce and the rice was v good too (& I don't eat rice) Mezzo sampler 4/5 - the falafels were good and I really liked the red pepper dip, but would prob skip it next time Pomegranate salad 3/5 - ok only. We didn't get pomegranates in the salad so we're a bit thrown off Raspberry lemonade 5/5 - yum made in house and was nice and tart and a great digestive. Staff rec said it was enough food if we were not too hungry and it was just the right amount for two. There is an indoor and outdoor casual seating area. We opted to sit outside bc the inside felt a bit stuffy. Would come back to try other proteins like beef and lamb.

Definitely recommend eating here at least once if you enjoy middle eastern food. Chicken shish - 10/10 Everyone loved the flavor and chicken was so tender Mezze sampler - Everyone's favorite was the hummus! I also really enjoyed the sweetness from the red pepper hummus Musakhan - Very tender chicken as well but more of a roasted chicken flavor. If you dine in, you're given pita bread! Service was eh/ we never got water refill. I also heard that we can get pita bread refills but we never got one )-: Ambiance is good! Good place for family and friends to dine in.

Stopped by for lunch with a friend around noon on a Sunday! We ordered a Mezze Sampler to share, and I got the Beef Kebab Plate. I also ordered Shay for my drink (black tea with mint and sugar). The Mezze Sampler is SO GOOD. I love dishes that have variety, and this is one of them! The muhammara and baba ganoush were my favorites. My beef kebab plate was also delicious. I tried to get a little bit of everything in each bite I had and I was just so happy with my dish :) My black tea was also really nice! I would definitely come again if I'm in the area! The service is good and the food is amazing!

Falafel plate and Whole Fried Branzino
    Kimberly N.

A friend told me that the whole fried branzino is THE dish to get, and word on the street was spot on! The branzino was fluffy and well cooked; it maintained a solid crunch without feeling greasy. The sauces paired well with the flavors of the fish as well. The falafel plate was well balanced with all of the different textures. Falafel maintained a solid crunch and was seasoned well. Pairing both plates together gives a great representation of the menu at Beit Rima. My only regret was not saving enough stomach space to try the beef or lamb!

He is hate dasher said go ouside

"This restaurant has a strong dislike for DoorDash drivers. Every time I arrive for a pickup, they make it very clear they don't want DoorDash couriers. The staff is unfriendly, and it feels like they're actively pushing delivery people away, which makes it really uncomfortable to work with them.

    Lemonades
    Yasmeen E.

My husband and I decided to check out this place because it looked nice from the outside. We ordered the chicken shish tawook, the beef kebab, and two different lemonades. Right away, I noticed that the beef kebab was very flavorful. However, I do think the menu description is a bit misleading. It tasted and looked like kufta kebab, which is great if that's what you're expecting. But calling it "beef kebab" gives a different impression, especially for people who might be expecting full cuts of grilled beef rather than minced meat. The chicken shish tawook had an interesting flavor profile. It was good, but I don't think I would get it again. I was personally hoping for something closer to mishawi, and this didn't really match that flavor. Still, it wasn't bad. It came with hummus and rice, which were fine, but I do think a small salad should be included. Something fresh would help balance out the richness of the meal and make the plate feel more complete. As for the lemonades, they were tasty, but I didn't realize they would come in small bottles. It would be helpful if that was mentioned on the menu, just to set expectations. Service was good but minimal. Nothing bad, but not particularly memorable either. Overall, it was a decent experience with a few things that could be clearer or improved.

    Baked Halloumi
    Manit D.

Expected this place to be like a proper dine in restaurant with the prices they have on the menu but it's actually a self service place with unreasonable prices. Cashier had an attitude and didn't even greet us properly. Got the baked halloumi which was def not worth $15 for 3 blocks of cheese in oil. Also got the chicken shish tawook plate, which comes with 3 chicken skewers and 2 of them were undercooked/RAW which just ruined our appetite. We told them about this, and even the replacement they brought was rubbery. The hummus that came with the plate was decent but yeah that's the only positive about this spot.

Beit Rima in Duboce Triangle was such a great find. The food was absolutely amazing!! Full of flavor and clearly made with care. It's a smaller spot, but that's part of what makes it special. The space has a great vibe; cozy, lively, and packed with locals, which always feels like a good sign. As someone visiting San Francisco, it was really nice to experience a place that feels genuinely local rather than touristy. I truly enjoyed the whole experience, and it's definitely going to be my go-to spot whenever I'm back in the city.

    Falafel
    Serene A.

Classic middle-eastern Levantine food! Good portions for the plates and shareable. The halloumi is a must try!

From the River to the Sea…read more This is the second location for this local, family-owned Palestinian restaurant that opened in 2019 and is operated by Samir Mogannam, the son of the former owner of the Burgermeister that formerly occupied this space, as well as the original Church St. location. Mogannam did a complete rebrand from an American burger restaurant to a fast-casual "Arabic comfort food" establishment that's named in honor of his mother and features her scratch-made recipes. To say it's a success is an understatement, as they've been named one of the best restaurants in SF not just by the Chronicle, but even made the NY Times' "The 25 Best Restaurants in San Francisco Right Now." After one visit, it's clear to see why. The Good: * Yelp Waitlist available * Bus stop right outside the door * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * Fast-casual order at the counter, and they bring the food out to you. * Service was friendly and efficient. * Palestinian and Jordanian beers in bottles! I didn't even know that was a thing. * Falafel were about 98.753% like my mom's. In a word: delicious. * Musakhan was phenomenal. The chicken was cooked perfectly with crispy skin and the sumac-onion "relish" was spot on. Get this. * Handmade pita bread was delicious. * Carissa enjoyed her Shish Tawook plate, as they were smart again and used chicken thighs which kept the well-seasoned meat nice and juicy. The concomitant hummus was fantastic, and the "Mom's Rice" was fuhgeddaboudit good. She did think the chicken could've used an extra thirty seconds on the grill to firm up the meat just a touch, but otherwise it was perfect. The Meh: * The Fattoush salad was just OK. It was overdressed and needed more dates that were cut into smaller pieces so that you get more of it in each bite to help offset the vinegar. The Ugly: * Parking here is a real hassle, as it's street parking only and it's all neighborhoods. So, be prepared to drive around endlessly looking for an opening. Conclusion: Best Palestinian food outside of me mum's kitchen. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as the ambiance and waitstaff. ***OUR PICKS*** BEEF SHAWERMA ENTREE ~ the beef was overly salted, saffron rice was ok, hummus was really thick, like peanut butter. My guy ordered this and thought it was average. 3/5 LAMB SHISH KEBAB WRAP ~ this was my dish. I ate one half of the wrap and it only held two cubes of lamb meat. The lettuce and tomatoes made the wrap bland. The meat was seasoned, but everything was plain, so it needed more seasoning. Honestly, this was missing flavor! I'll have to add something to it when I eat the rest of this wrap at home. 2.5/5 HALF ROASTED CHICKEN AND RICE ~ Our friend ordered this dish. It needed more sumac. This tasted like plain roasted chicken. Maybe it needs more seasoning while marinating. It wasn't dry, so that's a relief. Rice was ok and it wasn't dry or soggy. 3.5 We've been spoiled and have had better food in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Nothing stood out for any of us. Prices are a bit high for what you get. Sadly, probably won't be back.

Lovely spot to have dinner in West Portal. Cozy spot,…read moreupscale casual dining. Great wine menu - I am picky with my red wines these days and enjoyed my $11 glass of old vine Zinfandel. We loved the Combo appetizer plate which came with generous portions of 9 different items. I loved everything ! I'm an eggplant lover and two of the dips were eggplant based . My new favorite dip is the Mercimek Kofte which is a red lentil based chunky dip ; I would've guessed garbanzo bean based dip. The Haydari dip was also super addictive, a thick creamy dip made of kefir cheese and Greek yogurt. So many delicious but gut healthy items of the combo plate; which comes with thin lavash bread. Also loved the red lentil soup, which was warming on a rainy day. I thought it was flavorful without being overly spiced or too thick. My husband enjoyed the lamb kebabs. Tender juicy cuts of lamb that were well seasoned , comes on a bed of salad and rice. We also liked the charred red peppers and onions on the kebab . Service was sufficient Overall great little find for dinner !

New favorite Mediterranean place!…read more This is about a 15 min walk from where I live so I'll be coming here more often. Big fan of the portions at this restaurant. We ordered the combo plate which came with a lot of Pita bread, definitely enough to share among 4 people. Dishes came with a big helping of hummus too. I personally got the Kofte Kebab which filled me up. I had enough to bring home for lunch the next day. Getting a frozen yogurt at Easy Breezy is a must afterwards!!
