After I got my meal I thought she went home for the day. The other two tables left. I sat there. I would say possibly 30 minutes. She never came out and checked on me or brought me my check. I went up to the front to pay. She then came out and gave me my check. There was just such lack of service. Well, when I used the restroom, is was nasty. I called around 12 noon on Thursday, October 30th to place my usual order (steak and over-easy eggs with green sauce). The woman who answered didn't understand English and told me they didn't have what I was asking for that they only had tacos and burritos. I explained that I'm a regular and order the same thing every week, then kindly asked if she could transfer me to someone who speaks English. She said "one minute," put me on hold, and then hung up after about 10 minutes. That was very rude and unprofessional. I truly love the food here, but please make sure that whoever answers the phone is bilingual or able to communicate clearly with customers. I can only imagine how much business is lost when English-speaking customers are told the restaurant only offers tacos and burritos that's definitely not the case, and it's a shame for such a great spot.

In about 10 minutes my food came out nicely presented on a pretty fish shaped dish, a large portion of shrimp, rice and a simple salad topped with fresh avocado slices and some warm flour tortillas. The shrimp were excellent plump and meaty in a zippy sauce laced with garlic. The rice was a great compliment, while the salad gave a nice fresh crisp element to the meal. Overall an excellent meal and a great dinner. El Mana is a great place to get some excellent Mexican food at a reasonable price, portions are generous, flavors a big, bold and straightforward.
