It has taken me a while to write this review, but I think it is important. In June of 2022 I noticed a small cyst on my senior dogs' hind leg. It was a Saturday, so I made a note to call our vet on Monday and make an appointment. By Monday, it had doubled in size. Our regular vet said they didn't have any appointments for almost 6 weeks, so I went straight to Yelp and started calling well rated Vets in my area. Arbor was my second call and they were able to get us in for an appointment in just a few days. Our appointment was with Dr. Matt Woodall. He was friendly and suggested we do a fine needle aspiration and send the cells off for analysis to make sure it was benign. At that time, I was charged $53 for the office visit and $203 for the needle aspiration and analysis. By the end of the month, we received a call from Dr. Woodall advising that the sample was inconclusive. I was very disappointed but after the procedure I had read that there was a 25% chance this could happen. When I asked about my options, the vet advised we could: observe the lump and see if it continues to grow, try the FNA again, or schedule a surgery to remove it. I was given an original estimate of $816 - $1344 for the surgery. Because the pathology report stated there was "markedly increased numbers of" disease fighting blood cells an I knew that could be an indication of infection or cancer, I decided to have it surgically removed. I requested she have her teeth cleaned and nails trimmed while she was under anesthesia and the doctor added that to the estimate. He also stated he would need x-rays before preforming the surgery and added that to the estimate as well. The revised estimate was $1809.75 on the low end and $2126 on the high end. I am including all of this information because these events are costly, scary and stressful on pet-owners and most of us don't have thousands of dollars saved but it's challenging to get any type of price estimate until you have done an office visit. I am just hoping this will help anyone who is unsure if what they are being told/charged is reasonable. Ultimately, I paid $1,290.80 for the surgery, including around $225 for x-rays I did not get copies of and never saw. That is just one small part of my low rating, however. After the procedure, Dr. Woodall advised that they were unable to do the teeth cleaning or nail trim because the removal took longer than expected. He explained that the mass was not all together in a single "blob" but rather that there were small bits spread out and it was difficult to get, but most importantly to me, he advised me that he could not even be sure that he had removed it all. My heart sank. When we got the lab results from the removed mass, it confirmed that it was a cancerous mast cell tumor. The doctor stated that it was possible this would come back and gave us a list of oncologists should we need to contact one in the future. I am sure that the vet did the best he could but I will always worry about her cancer returning and wonder if a more experienced vet could have done a better job. That being said, if this were a review for Dr. Woodall, I would be giving 4 stars. This is not a review for Dr. Woodall because he has left this practice but the majority of my experience here was with him. This is a review for Arbor Pet clinic and I do not believe they are at all deserving of their (current) 4 star rating. First of all, the facility itself is standard and comparable to multiple others in Lodi, with the exception of the very small exam rooms. Second, they also seem to book a lot of appointments and have a full waiting room and/or multiple people waiting outside. Third, we had issues with the administrative staff making mistakes. Lastly, in my opinion, Dr. Turner is rude, grating and unprofessional. While paying for our services, he interrupted the receptionist on multiple occasions, which in itself would have been bad enough, but the way he spoke to her was condescending and when he told her to "get it right this time" it was very uncomfortable for all of us. Also while I was waiting at an earlier appointment, a woman with a bunny came inside to check in for her appointment and told the staff she would wait outside. There were two dogs in the waiting room so I understand wanting to be outside and try and keep your animal calm. A few minutes later, Dr, Turner came around the corner and yelled her name and when no one responded he asked the staff where she was and said loudly "My time is valuable. Call the next one then." When someone notified her and she came in literally seconds later, he told her to her face "I don't have time to be waiting for you." and I was honestly shocked when she went ahead with the appointment. I hope all this information was helpful to anyone considering coming here and I wish you and your fur babies the best of luck!

I would ignore the reviews regarding Dr. Turner's attitude. He is one of the best vets you can bring any animal to. If you spend enough time and money with him, you'd know that he cares about every single animal that comes into his clinic and spends extra time with any animal that needs it. He's professional and tries to divide his time equally with each pet that comes in. On top of that, he makes sure that he doesn't overcharge any owner no matter what. The front desk is wonderful and caring despite having to see pets and owners in pain everyday, they still maintain a positive attitude. I live a long ways but it's worth every mile. I highly recommend this clinic for all animals.

Dr. Turner may be a little rough around the edges, but he is a master at his craft. If you can look past his gruff exterior you will find that he will bend over backwards to ensure your pet has the absolute best medical care available. You would think with his expertise that it would be extremely expensive, but Dr. Turner keeps your pocket book in mind and is an advocate for providing affordable veterinary care. My kitty, Nemo, who passed away 2yrs ago, had kidney disease. He had been on fluids for 7yrs and was stable, but things took a turn and he was at my local E.R. Marqueen Emergency. At the end of a few days in the hospital and a large bill, I was told there wasn't anything more we could do. That's when my very good friend told me about Dr. Turner. With additional help of vitamins and supplements, Nemo had another happy year. When he passed away it wasn't because of his kidneys and Dr. Turner was determined to try anything to keep him around in spite of the cancer that had ravaged his body, but Nemo let us know that he was ready to go. If it wasn't for Dr. Turner I wouldn't have had that extra year with the spunkiest, silliest, and friendliest cat anyone ever met. I'm on my way back with my other kitty and I'm 100% confident that if it can be diagnosed, addressed and/or fixed it would be with Dr. Turner. So I'm driving the 1hr drive to ensure my baby has the best care....and so should you.

Dr. Turner and staff are caring and wonderful. Dr Turner will go above and beyond to care your pet. When my baby Kamea was terminal Dr Turner and staff were their for her until she crossed the rainbow bridge. Which was very hard for me and my family. Knowing that you have staff that cares and is companionate helps. I will continue sending all my fur babies to Arbor Pet in the future.

Writing this review one year after the incident happened that required Arbor to care and do a repair on my turtles shell. Can agree with some that where yes Dr. Turner may seem a little ruff around the edges is because he is definitely a master at his craft and focuses on that first. He answered all questions, gave fair pricing, and most importantly saved my family pets life. Would not hesitate to bring any of my animals reptile or K-9 to Arbor, and am extremely grateful to the entire staff!

I will drive over a few hundred miles to come here after they saved my dog's life. I have taken my Lab/Retriever mix of 9 years to two separate vets for him not acting like himself resulting in my last vet prescribing a medication without preforming bloodwork. All of a sudden my Puppy would not eat any food (major red flag), had a weird body shake thing, drank twice the amount of water, and needed to go outside all of the time. I took him right back in and they performed a blood test (for the first time). They called to say that nothing seemed to be too concerning other then his kidney levels were a little high, which is to be expected with an older dog. This just did not seem right, for when your puppy is not acting like himself, something is up. That's when a friend recommended Mr. Turner to me. After a quick consult they asked me to bring him in right away the next morning. From the moment I entered the facility to the follow up after leaving, the staff is the absolute best! They performed blood tests right away to find that Jake's liver was also acting up and they kept him over night to monitor with IVs, antibiotics, and supplements. Dr. Turner followed up with a phone call the next morning and quickly told me the facts, his condition, and that I could pick him up. Upon arrival the staff was friendly (though they were really busy). Dr. Turner explained all that they had done for my puppy, and that he could go home with a special diet, oral antibiotics, and the promise that I would call with an update on him. My dog hates the groomer or being left anywhere without his family so I was happily surprised to find him in happy spirits when he came through the door to me. That tells me way more about this amazing clinic that anything else could. They don't just treat the animals that come through the doors, but they actually care about them and love them too. Now back at home, he is acting 110% better and will be having his check ups with the friendly staff at this facility (even though I have to drive an hour to get there). If only I could capture how grateful I am in words for this facility prolonging my much loved dog's life, I would. Until then, I am recommending everyone I know to this office and will continue to do so.

I was nervous to get it done but realized it was necessary for her future health. I used to bring my Cats here for care but they have since passed on. I decided to bring my Katie here for her spay surgery. This was her first visit here. I arrived around 8:30am to drop off Katie on her surgery day. The gal at the front desk on Aug 28th greeted me with kindness and that relieved me. The Vet tech who came out to the lobby was also friendly and greeted my dog with a compliment and lots of welcome strokes across her head and upper body. I could tell she loved dogs and Katie was not nervous to go in back with her to start the procedure. Last time I was here, Dr. McCullough worked here. She has since passed so they advised me that Dr. Lynn Muller (from ACT Spay & Neuter, Stockton) was helping them out for surgeries. I did not get a chance to meet her, however, I hear good things about ACT so I went by that. I picked up Katie around 4:30pm that same day. She came out to the lobby to greet me like nothing had happened. She looked good. Not drugged out or nervously excited to get the heck out of there! What a relief! My fur baby was fine! Hallelujah! Ashley even helped me get Katie into the back of my SUV. They gave me a pain med pill to take home with me and advised that she take it easy (no jumping). The price was great also! Less than $300! Katie is doing great. The small incision healed well on her belly after a week. No oozing or irritation. They use surgical glue so you don't have to return to remove sutures. She can't wait to start her long dog walks soon. Based on my experience, I recommend Cherokee Vet and Dr. Muller for spaying your fur baby. Thank you Dr. Muller and staff!

We brought our senior cat, Huck, in because we had been battling fleas and ear mites for approximately three months. By the time of our appointment, we had finally gotten the flea problem under control, but the ear mites remained our primary concern. During the initial visit, we were told Huck needed a comprehensive senior exam, which cost approximately $600. We gladly paid because we wanted to make sure he received the care he needed. We were also informed that he required extensive dental work, estimated between $1,700 and $2,700. Fortunately, the final cost was on the lower end of that estimate, around $1,700. At the first appointment, we were assured that the medication prescribed would address both the flea and ear mite issues. Unfortunately, months later, we are still dealing with the ear problem. Communication throughout this process was consistently poor. Before appointments, no one provided helpful instructions such as whether we should avoid cleaning Huck's ears beforehand. For his dental procedure, we were told only that drop-off would be between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. No one mentioned paperwork. When my boyfriend arrived, he was immediately handed paperwork and told it would take about 20 minutes to complete. Naturally, this caused unnecessary stress because he wasn't expecting it. In reality, it was only one page and took just a few minutes. At Huck's dental follow-up appointment, we arrived early by mistake, then returned shortly after our scheduled time. While waiting, one of the receptionists assisted us while actively eating and speaking with food in her mouth. This was not the first time we had experienced this behavior from staff and it came across as unprofessional. Although our appointment was scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Huck was not taken back until nearly 10:50. We requested to speak directly with the doctor because we still had concerns about his ears. After examining him, the doctor stated that his ears appeared darker than normal but was unsure whether the issue was ear mites, yeast, or something else. We were then told that microscopic testing could be performed--but it would cost an additional $103. At that point, I was extremely frustrated. We had already spent well over $2,000 between exams, treatment, and dental care, and the original issue that brought us in still had not been resolved. Being asked to spend even more money simply to determine what was going on felt unreasonable given the circumstances. While we were waiting, another customer was attempting to pick up medication for his pet after receiving a text notification. Staff appeared unable to locate the medication and repeatedly searched different locations while asking the customer the same questions. It reinforced the impression that the clinic was disorganized and lacking clear communication. My biggest concern is not the cost. Veterinary care is expensive, and I understand that. My concern is that we spent over $2,000, received repeated assurances that the treatment would address the problem, and yet the original issue remains unresolved. Combined with the poor communication, lack of preparation for appointments, long waits, and unprofessional interactions at the front desk, this experience left us feeling disappointed and frustrated. I sincerely hope the clinic improves its communication, organization, and follow-through with clients because pet owners deserve clear answers and confidence that their concerns are being addressed.

Because his condition had worsened, I called and asked if I could come in earlier. The staff told me to arrive at 9:30 a.m. and said the doctor would be there shortly. Unfortunately, the veterinarian didn't arrive until around 10:30 a.m. During that time, my kitty was in obvious pain and was extremely cold. Once the doctor saw him, a staff member came in to discuss the treatment plan and estimated costs, which totaled over $2,000. I agreed without hesitation because I wanted to do everything possible to save my kitty. He was hospitalized for the day since the hospital would be closed on July 4. While I was paying the bill, I was told I would receive an update on my kitty within 10-20 minutes. Two hours passed with no call, so I called the hospital. I was placed on hold for 40 minutes. I called again later and was put on hold once more. After another 30 minutes, a staff member told me the veterinary technician caring for my kitty was very busy but would call me back within five minutes. That call never came. Around 8:00 p.m., I finally received a call telling me to come pick him up and that they would go over his test results and treatment plan. When I arrived, my kitty didn't look any better than when I had dropped him off. I was sent home with prescribed medications, which cost an additional $300. Tragically, my kitty passed away the very next day. I called the hospital to let them know he had passed and asked if I could return the unused medication for a refund. The manager I spoke with showed very little compassion. She simply told me that because the medication had been opened, they could not take it back and suggested I donate it to a shelter. I understand that not every pet can be saved, and I know medicine has its limits. What was most upsetting was the lack of communication, the long delays, and the lack of empathy during such a heartbreaking time. Throughout the day, I struggled just to get a simple update on my pet after being promised one. When I picked him up, I also noticed he had multiple needle pokes, and it broke my heart to see him like that. I understand that hospitalized animals often require IVs and blood draws, but seeing so many puncture sites made me wonder how difficult his experience had been. I spent nearly $3,000 because I believed my kitty would receive attentive, compassionate care. Instead, he passed away the following day, and I was left feeling unsupported during one of the most difficult experiences I've ever had. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hospital.

I also love that they don't try to sell you on additional items as well. Here are some costs we paid: Exam fee: $150 Full blood work panel: $270 SNAP test: $80 SQ fluids: 82.60 Metronidazole liquid to take home: $58.02 Cerenia Injection: $54.62

It was after hours and my vet was going to be closed the following day but I had grown increasingly…read moreconcerned that my dog had a UTI. I did not want her in pain so I called All Creatures Emergency Vet and was told I didn't need an appointment, to just show up when I could. It was a 35 minute drive and when I arrived, the door was locked. I knocked but didn't see anyone. After a few minutes, another woman walked up and said "They do this. You gotta bang." She knocked on the door repeatedly until someone came outside. It took a few more minutes. We were put in a room immediately and proceeded to wait about an hour to be seen by the vet tech. To be fair, a dog that had been hit by car came in after we were in the room. From what we heard it was already deceased. Then, a woman brought in a her friend's dog she was supposed to be caring for and told the staff she wasn't sure if it was breathing. Based on what they said, that dog was also deceased. The vet tech was not very personable and she took our dogs temperature rectally but with zero skill and after what seemed like 5 minutes, was finally done. It was not a good experience. After we spoke to the tech, we asked for water for our dog, which was brought and waited another 15 min or so for the vet. Dr. Case took a look at our dog and I explained I was concerned about a UTI and gave her history of bladder stone removal and kidney issues. I also asked her to look at a bump on my dogs leg, since we were already there and at my dogs advanced age I am always worried about her cancer returning. The estimate for X-rays for that was well over $400 so I said I would have my regular vet do it on my next visit the following week. Without the x-rays for the bump, the estimate was $520 for the emergency exam, urinalysis, and medication if needed. We agreed and the vet tech came back in (I thought to get our dog for tests) and told us that we would need to pay up front before they would start the process. I have never experienced that before but we gave her a credit card to charge. Once she did that, she returned and took our dog back to extract urine. I went to the restroom shortly thereafter and there was a man at the desk with his dog. The same vet tech was giving him an estimate and, right in front of me said, "Don't worry, you can wait to pay until everything is done." Look, I get that this is Stockton and although I was surprised by the pay first attitude, I can't say I didn't understand. Every business has the right to decide if they want people to prepay or pay after, but to pick and chose with seemingly no reason or standard is totally unprofessional. Also, just a note, but if you read through most of the reviews, as I had time to do during my long wait, you will see that most of the 5 stars are from people whose animals were euthanized here and most of the 1 stars are from people who brought in their sick animals looking for help. Our dog was brought back promptly and we waited another hour before the vet returned. She said there was bacteria in my dogs urine and they gave us antibiotics but they did not have the correct dosage for my small dog so they gave me large pills (with no break line) and said to cut them in half myself and give them to my dog. Of course I was concerned that when I broke the pills, small pieces would scatter and she would not be getting the full dose which obviously happened. After the first few days we noticed that our dog was getting no relief from the antibiotics and scheduled the first available appointment with our regular vet. When she completed the full course, I emailed All Creatures Emergency Vet to confirm that they had found bacteria and ask if they tested to ensure they gave the correct antibiotics because it had not helped. It took them 3 days to respond. The response was that I should get a "urinalysis with culture and sensitivity sent to the laboratory...Or maybe there is no infection and she has cystitis." We saw our regular vet and she is now doing much better after weeks of being uncomfortable. Long story short: We spent 3 hours and over $500 for our dog not to feel better.
