At age 74, I have eaten at many restaurants - both take out and dine in. I have had bad service on occasion, but never anything compared to the service I had at Arby's at 8018 Highway 64 in Bartlett, TN. I now live 45 minutes from the subject Arby's, and live in a small, rural town with few dining options. My daughter and I occasionally have to go to Memphis/Bartlett for a doctor visit or such. When we do go into town, we purchase food from some place that will provide us with a couple of meals. Such was the case on August 14th when I had to be in Germantown for several scans and doctor visits. Keep in mind that I drove for ONE HOUR to get to the doctor, and then I had to drive another ONE HOUR to get back home. Otherwise, I was exhausted from my disease, and I was experiencing severe pain. I arrived at the first doctor visit at 10:30 and left the last appointment at 3:30. All of these appointments were with providers located in the same building. My daughter and I agreed on take-out food for me to get from Arby's at the subject address. I arrived there (per the ticket) at 4:22 p.m. The employee who took my order was Nikita. My order was for 2 Reubin sandwiches and 2 French Dip sandwiches. I had to repeat my order to Nikita at least 5 or 6 times. She could not seem to comprehend that I wanted sandwiches only (no meal), and that I wanted 2 sandwiches of each. Finally, when I looked at my receipt, she had charged me for 2 Reubins and 2 Roast Beef sandwiches. Note that I did not order a Roast Beef. At that point, the incompetence, combined with my long, tiring, painful and medical care had the best of me and caused my frustration to rise. When I complained again to Nikita and told her it should not be that difficult to understand and get correct. At that time, a lady who represented herself as a manager appeared, and she had the cooks re-do my order. That order was also incorrect, so she had to ask them to prepare it yet again. So, I did get back to my home with the food. I had 2 Reubin sandwiches (which I ordered), 1 French Dip (I ordered 2), and 1 Gyro (which I did not order. The manager made a particularly nasty, uncalled for comment to me that everyone who worked there had been to college. That had nothing to do with anything. She, herself, had served in the military. She also told me it was the cashier's first day on the job and I should be patient and kind to her. How was I to know how long the cashier had worked there? All I knew was that she took my order, and I expected it to be correct. If it was her first day, another employee should have been working with her and watching what she did. With all of that, there was barely any meat at all on the sandwiches. The Gyro was totally improperly made. As stated, I have never received such poor service, and I have never dealt with any restaurant persons who were so incompetent. It would appear to me that none of them went to college. It is obvious from my review that I will not patronize that Arby's again (and maybe no other Arby's). There are take-out food restaurants on every street corner in that area, and there I no reason I have to subject myself to such a horrible experience. Integrity!!! So I came to this Arby's on Sunday afternoon through the drive through. Got to the window and handed a nice young gentleman my credit card, he charged it and handed it back to me. While waiting for my food he randomly checks the receipt and then asks for my card back. I see him call a manager over. After about 2-3 mins he opens his window hands me my card back and says 'I realized I over charged you by $3.00, it's just easier for us to give you the cash then to do the credit card transaction." I have been to this particular location (Hwy 64, Memphis) a couple of times and each time it's worse. First I went inside, nobody at the counter, I waited a few min...nobody; so I left and went thru drive thru. I get it line and wait 10min before they come to the speaker, then they sound like they got an attitude. Come around to the window (waiting additional 10min for her to come to the window) and the young lady seems like doesn't want to be there. I wait an additional 10min for my food. Out of the Arby's I've picked up a bite to eat at around the Memphis area...this location is my favorite. They haven't screwed an order up, they always cool employees, and...hey... the food tastes good! Arby's has come a long way in the last few years. Arby's recent slate of new sandwiches appeals to me, so we recently stopped in to sample some we haven't tried before. My wife had the chicken Club wrap and found it very good. Then out of no where they said "oh by the way we have no meat" this is also at 7:45 pm no where near closing time. They didn't offer us a reimbursement a wait time or anything and just said bye!!!! This was my first time going to Arby's and it will also be my last. I what into Arby's and order my food. While there I watch them prepare my food. I order a burger in they put it in the microwave. The fries were cold and the staff that were there were thrown sandwiches in the racks. Staff was extremely nice and happy. Time for getting meal was good. Overall cleanliness was good with the exception of a few tables needing to be wiped down. Overall store was very clean. This Review is for the Arby's on Hwy. 64 near the Wolfchase Mall. I typically order sandwiches 2-3 times a week @ Drive-Thrus in this area. But not when I'm in a hurry, so I'm not as impatient about waiting as some customers are. I would rather they fill my order correctly. Typically takes 10 minutes @ the Drive-Thru. I like the Roast Beef Classic Sandwich ($4.99) or the French Dip & Swiss with Au Jus ($6.69). They are also experimenting with other types of meat "Limited Time Offers." Now the promotion is "Pizza Sliders." Not appealing to me, but there are a ton of pizza lovers out there who will probably try it, if they're already here. Food is good but not spectacular ( hey it's Arby's). Always like the Curley fries. I tried the sliders, two roast beef sliders and one buffalo chicken. Nice change of pace, but I got too much. Should have just bought 2 sliders. Service is good, young lady taking our order was nice and courteous. Don't order here late at night. Extremely disappointed. Went through the drive-thru at 11:45 at night on a long road trip. To avoid missing any items, we made sure to clarify every aspect of our order. Despite this, nobody who ordered a French Dip got their au jus, which is pretty crappy considering it was cold out and that was the whole reason any of us ordered it in the first place. If they were out, they should have told us before they paid and let us order something else- most of us would have preferred something without cheese given the colds we were all suffering from. Worse, some orders were missing entirely. By the time we had realized what was missing, it was too late to get the order corrected. They're probably fine during eat-in hours, as what we did get tasted fine, but late at night? Steer clear. read more
