I was faced with a slab leak that flooded the first floor of my condo. I was referred to TLC…read morePlumbing thru the Angi website and plumber David was sent to complete a re-route from the half-bath to the kitchen sink. It was not until the base cabinets were demolished that I saw that the new copper piping had not been run behind the drywall with steel stud safety plates, but just curved on top of the bottom shelf, completely exposed to possible damage from items placed back on the shelf. When the flood mitigation company arrived they immediately recognized that the new piping was not up to code and they contacted Thad, the owner of TLC Plumbing, to give him the option of coming back to correctly install the waterline, or they would fix it and bill the cost back to TLC. Thad came by my house the next day but did not tell me he was coming and did not knock on the door. I immediately called Thad back to have him return, but he cut me off and said he'd be back "between 10-12 the next day." He never showed up and ghosted me thru further attempts to contact him. It's also noteworthy that I had to contact Thad four times to get a readable copy of their work order/receipt. The flood mitigation company is now billing me $1100 for their professional fix, saying TLC is claiming I approved the non-code compliant approach. I was shocked when I saw the exposed piping and compared it to how the original pipes were installed in the walls. I cannot and will not give TLC Plumbing any grade other than an F and strongly caution anyone against using them.

Seth was working on a plumbing job downtown on one of the same jobs I was working at and I begin to just ask him his opinion on tankless water heaters. He sold me on the idea and offered to install one for me. Since my original water heater was inside my house, he ran both water lines and a new gas line to the outside of my house and mounted the new heater. The heater worked great, very impressed with the on demand system of tankless water heaters. Since then I've had various and random plumbing issues/jobs and Seth has always come through with me. We live in a walkout basement style home, built in 1949. Our house has cast iron pipes and an "old…read moreschool" P-trap in the downstairs basement shower. Recently heard the concerning, "Dad the shower is not draining" and the dread and fear of old home ownership crept in. I tried vinegar and baking soda, Greengobbler, plunger and a shop vac. Nightmares and fears of breaking concrete floors and thousands of dollars tried to creep in. I asked a neighbor if he new a honest, good, drain guy and he referred Nick. Nick owns San Diego Drain Krew and actually lives a few houses away. Nick sent his employee Kevin who was polite, friendly, concerned and hard working. Kevin tried two different "snakes" and niether worked. The snakes were actually being damaged as Kevin tried to feed them. I looked on line and saw that many old pee traps have very hard 90* turns (instead of gentle 45*). Kevin had to retreat but first asked if we had a "cleanout" which we searched for and located in the basement. The cleanout had a rusted/melded cap as it had not been opened during our 29 years in the house (and probably much longer). Nick, the owner, refered me to a plumber Chris at CML Plumbing. Before I contacted CML I watched a YouTube video on how to remove a melded cap and, as an old retired Fireman thought "I can handle this". After trying a lubricating spray and heating with a small propane torch I was not having success and I called Chris at CML. Chris confirmed my thoughts of needing to cut the cap off. I did this myself (thank you Chris for not trying to upsell me and giving free advice). I cut the cap out and proudly even saved the threads. Kevin came back out the next day and snaked the whole cleanout and the shower is draining like a champ!!! All we ever want is good and honest people who dont sell fear or upsell. Joe's helped us clean up a whole lot of plumbing issues over the past 7 years: the issues we inherited from our previous owners' failed DIYs. Joe has a wealth of experience in all different settings: handling residential, commerical, and hospital plumbing issues. He is flexible in timing. He makes great recommendations about hardware. Ask him, and he will tell you what you might want, what you do/ do not need, how to maintain your things, and what to look out for (things that would require more immediate attention). Here's a list of all the work (that I remember) he's done at our house: 1) replaced water pressure valve 2) installed bathroom vanities and new faucets.. and that got rid of weird sink smells. 3) fixed whistling toilets, rattling pipes in the walls, toilet that was doing a double flush, loose/damaged flush valves. 4) replaced new faucet for backyard hose. 5) finding and fixing old DIYs that are totally not up to code 6) installed new kitchen faucet, replaced all the pipes under the sink (that was done all wrong before). Adjusted the sink grinder and dishwasher hose so everything is kink free 7) replaced leaking shower head hose *Photos are current, 2026. All the stuff he's fixed and installed is still working great!
