My wife and I drive out to Fredericksburg from Austin one-or two-times a month. We find ourselves at the Arch Ray for lunch or dinner more than any of the other amazing places in town. The atmosphere is mid-upper scale relaxed, the servers are always pleasant and attentive and the room expansive, with a lot of natural light. Longest bar we've seen, and the bar seats are super comfortable. All the food we've tried has been excellent. I like the Caesar with grilled chicken, the Chicken-Fried steak, the standard Burger. My wife speaks highly of the Baby Back Pork Ribs and the Catch of the Day, especially if it's Texas Red Fish. We've done the Charcuterie board a couple times and if you are only sort of hungry and just want to nibble while you drink - perfect. The beer list changes, but they are all well done and nice and cold. I've had the Smooth Old Fashioned, no complaints and wife enjoys the Margarita's. The wines are excellent. Our favorites are the Tempranillo, Mourvèdre, Viognier and surprisedly the Riesling, usually not a fan. We haven't been to a concert on site yet, but we have enjoyed the live background music and sitting on the huge covered outdoor area, with a breeze it's even barrable in mid-summer. After the drinks and meal, we might go do a tasting at the two wineries onsite or restock my Ranch Cut Reserve Bourbon. Pricing - It is on the high side, but you can become a member and save 15%, plus get 4 free drinks per month. There are so many great options in the Fredericksburg area. Put Arch Ray on your rotation and you won't regret. read more

We loved Arch Ray!! We stopped here with Brooke's Bubble Bus wine tour over Memorial Day weekend, and it ended up being our favorite stop of the tour. We sat outside, and the view was beautiful. We also had fun playing cornhole + enjoyed the atmosphere. It was to be able to sample wines and cocktails (everything was amazing). It was a Saturday, so they had live music, which made the experience even better. The outdoor seating area was comfortable, and there was plenty of space for our group of 10. The staff were great as well! Bogdan took care of us, and he was attentive, friendly, and funny throughout our visit. This was our favorite stop on the tour!! Another lovely experience in the Fredericksburg area. After driving through both the Arch Ray RV Park and the Cabin based development, we stopped for lunch at the 1894 restaurant in the Arch Ray Resort. There were 6 of is on a chilly Tuesday in February. The restaurant / bar area had very few people in it, so we were seated right away. We learned that a server had called-off, so our server Brock handled the entire restaurant. He did a great job and is a hard working young man. We all ordered some draft beers made in their own on-site brewery. When the beers came, we ordered appetizers and lunch. Everything was quite tasty. I have to add that the Brussels Sprouts are among the best I've ever had. Our Wagyu - Angus burger was very good as well. We stayed at the Arch Way on the River RV Resort and had dinner at the restaurant. The two could not be more different. The restaurant was 5-Star. Service / Atmosphere / Food all excellent. The RV park is far from being a resort. They have nothing other than an office, sites and a dumpster. The website and online map is VERY misleading be careful as this place is four distinct and separate. A restaurant complex, a RV campground, a RV Barndominium complex and fancy tiny houses. read more

We had the pleasure of hosting our wedding rehearsal dinner here and can not recommend them enough!!! From a beautiful tour to scheduled planning calls, they made sure everything was perfect. Jody was our event contact and she was absolutely amazing in making sure the menu was picked out, chairs and tables were set up and made sure we had plenty of time to set up all our decor - and made sure all other factors were just how we wanted. Von was our server and he did an excellent job. He was quick and came often to check on us but not too much so was not a nuisance. This is the third time we've had a meal at this restaurant and both the service and the food has been outstanding each and every time! The Sangiovese wine was excellent this time as well! UPDATE: I've improved my rating from 1 star to 2 because one of the owners reached out privately about my experience; I do appreciate that. If we go back to give them another chance, I'll update again. I hate to give bad reviews but this experience was so horrible that I'm hoping they learn from the feedback. This was our first stop on an organized wine tour. It included a tasting and lunch. I picked this place because I was told we could choose between a wine tasting or beer flight, but when we sat down, a waitress immediately poured us a wine sample, said nothing, and left. She was gone for quite a while so we drank the wine. She finally returned and started pouring another sample without a word. I had to stop her to ask what it was and what the first one was, and I was surprised and disappointed they never offered the beer tasting option. We had no menu to tell us anything about the drinks and she only told us the name of it after I asked the first time. No description or anything. When they brought out the food that we had pre-ordered, the dishes all came out separately so half the group sat waiting for about 15 minutes before the rest of us got our food. Also, they got one order wrong and told my colleague they hadn't started his chicken sandwich so he basically had to choose between tacos and a burger instead. The burgers looked good, but the tacos were NOT tacos like you see in the pics, they were basically two tiny (smallest tortilla you can find) quesadillas cut in quarters with a lot of tortilla chips to hide the measly lunch portion of food. What's worse is I ordered fish tacos and told them several times I had fish tacos. After eating 2-3 of the small bites, I realized my fish tacos were actually shrimp. Damn good thing I am not allergic to shellfish. I've been on many wine tours and know what to expect. This was not what I'd consider a tasting and the service was horrible. Our wine tour company made good by buying us a beer flight since that's what some of our team originally wanted, and the bartender who did that was good, but overall, I can not recommend this place and have no plans of being back. read more

We paid $50 each for Thanksgiving lunch and we received either frozen or canned mixed vegetables, stuffing that tasted like stove top stuffing and gravy that tasted like packaged mix gravy, and I'm not certain if the potatoes were real or not because they didn't taste real and the turkey wasn't good. The only thing that was really edible was the very small yeast roll and the cobbler that was mostly apple with a little bit of crust. I would expect way better than this from a business of this caliber. We were extremely disappointed, and I spoke to a manager and he never returned my call. We did not expect our money back, but we do expect a call back with an apology and no one did so! EPIC FAIL! read more

We had a wonderful experience this evening. We did a wine tasting at the bar. Our bartender was attentive and knowledgeable, and the wine was delicious. We listened to Jeff Wood on the patio. (You should check him out!). Afterwards, our dinner was really nice. Our service was excellent, and the food was delicious. There was a table of women next to us, who were done dining when we sat down. They proceeded to spend the next hour complaining about their meal. They were rude to the server and spoke poorly about him behind his back. A manager went to their table to address the issues and handled the situation and herself professionally. The women thanked her for her attention, only to complain further about her once she left. They left a poor review. I would encourage you to give Arch Ray a try and experience it for yourself. read more

As always, this is a nice and classy experience. The food is good even if you're only snacking. While I'm not a super fan of the home brewed spirits; they're good but not jaw dropping. Still, as a mixer they make a sublime old fashioned that I cannot recommend strongly enough. Although the food and the atmosphere were wonderful I would not return or recommend this restaurant to anyone. Was told the wait time would be 30 min. We were seated after an hour. We then waited an additional 30 min at our table before anyone welcomed us, gave us water or let us know they would be with us shortly. Female manager was behind the bar messing with glassware the entire 2+ hours we were in the restaurant. Never helped the long line of people waiting to be seated. Never helped her staff in anyway. Multiple people walked out due to no attendant at the front of the restaurant. We had to ask if we could have some water and if we had anyone taking or order. Our server was very nice...once he arrived. Seemed like the 3 servers they had only helped one table at a time. Never mingled around and checked on multiple people's needs. Once our food came out we noticed the female manager walking around and enjoying her coffee which she took over to the fire place to kick up her feet. So useless. Had a wonderful experience at 1894 Ranch to Table. The restaurant is very beautiful and has a very stylish Texas flare. I Had a very tender and flavorful cheeseburger with very delicious thin fries. We came here with a group of 11 for dinner. To start our server was unknowledgeable about the menu. When our food came to us it was auctioned off as if we were at a diner. Our food was mediocre, I had the meatballs and a side of fries, the meatballs were extremely bland and were not hot. Someone also had the steak sandwich, which I tried and it was way to spicy and over seasoned she didn't even finish it. We asked for ranch for our fries and it tasted like sour cream which is odd so that was disappointing as well. While eating our food we never saw our server again and were not asked if we needed anything else through our entire stay. For someone who works in the industry, I am very patient and understanding of situation but this was an extreme disappointment for the amount we paid for our food. read more

My girlfriend and I both joined the Arch Ray resort; as we both own small businesses, we thought it would be a good place to take clients. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not meet the standards; with our combined credits, we have eaten just about everything on the menu now. The "ranch to table" meat, whether it be in a steak or a sandwich is brined in salt and is extremely tough and not appetizing The chicken fried steak is the same situation, extremely tough and salty. The rib entrée has so much liquid smoke in it, that It's hardly edible. I could go on and on, but certainly it's either a tough piece of meat that's salty, or an appetizer that has little to no flavor at all. What a complete disappointment of a restaurant, especially for the high standards set by so many other places in Fredericksburg Texas. The thing that bothered me, the most is, I took time out of my busy day to call management and discuss some of these problems that I encountered - as a member- with them - I left several messages, and the manager never gave me the respect of a return phone call. I don't think they care. I do not recommend this restaurant as it is of poor quality. Save your money; eat somewhere else, and enjoy fabulous drinks at the resort. read more

This is a new venture. They've only been open since July. They are getting ready to break new ground on a hotel. But they have an amphitheater with periodic shows,an RV Park, winery and distillery. We only visited the 1894 restaurant. In a small Texas town, this is fine dining. I ordered the flight of wine and brought home a bottle. After tasting several wines, I brought home a bottle of the Sangiovese.. I am usually a Chardonnay girl but the Pinot Grigio and the Sangiovese were my favorites. I ordered the red fish and ask for brussels sprouts instead of roasted vegetables. They were happy to oblige. I was happy that they did because the brussels sprouts are not to be missed! My husband had the chicken and said it was delicious! The hostess, Penny, was so friendly that I feel like I need to go back and visit her like an old friend. She said the chef worked for 13 years with Wolfgang Puck and after eating,, his/her food I believe it. We had reservations for Saturday night at 6:30. The service was spot on! Mary Ann was very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely go back to this one. After a week of eating conference food, which was not bad, and Mexican food, again, not bad at all, this was a Welcome change. read more

The food was amazing but the service is horrendous. Got ignored by staff more than once. Walked straight past us and never came back. Took them +20 minutes to get us menus. All in all good food if you have the life span of a tortoise cause you'll be spending a good amount of time here. read more
