Had another great visit to Barons Creek Vineyards, and it continues to be one of our go-to spots when we're in town. Always consistently good. The staff is knowledgeable and they do a great job walking you through the wines and making recommendations based on what you like. We had the Zinfandel and the Sauvignon Blanc--both were excellent. The Zinfandel was bold and smooth, and the Sauvignon Blanc was crisp and refreshing. Honestly, they never miss here. This place nails the Fredericksburg wine country vibe. Relaxed, clean, and just the right balance of upscale and comfortable. It's easy to settle in and lose track of time. Delicious wines & tasty pizza! Wonderful lunch stop in Fredericksburg! I stopped by Barons Creek as part of a wine tour with Brooke's Bubble Bus. At first glance I wasn't very impressed with the interior. It gave the same vibe as a Costco warehouse, but the food and wine made up for it! This was a decent wine tasting experience. We were in a group and the staff member leading our tasting allowed us to select between reds and mixed. We opted for the reds and were surprised to see a variety of grapes mostly outside of Texas. We weren't too impressed by the wine selection and did not decide on any of the wines for a full glass. I did like that there were a lot of different varietals for us to taste. The pours were all 1oz as expected. The outside area of the winery is gorgeous and makes for a really nice time with friends and family. Walking around here was the highlight of our time at the winery. They seem to have villas available so it would probably make a nice event venue for a wedding. read more

My first wine tasting in the hill country and didn't want to go to the most popular ones to avoid the hustle and checked out Barons Creek Vineyards. While they didn't have an amazing architecture and the ambiance wasn't great nor they had active harvestable vineyards, it was still fun. We got a mixed wine flight with their best wine recommendations. Wine flight: Rosé Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Muscat Canelli My favorite was the Muscat Canello. Fantastic time at Barons Creek, it was my favorite stop on our winery tour! The property is gorgeous and made me feel like I was in California with the spacious seating area, live music and mission style building. We were in the annex as I called it, they had some seating and really packed people in but it seemed more of a space for storage. The employee who helped us was fantastic, gave us the low down on all the wines we would be sampling and asked us preferences. They have some food options like charcuterie plates and pizza, all tasty options for a little snack. I would stop here again if I was on my own to enjoy a couple glasses of wine. read more

Stopped on my way into town. The place was not too busy. We were greeted immediately by Mathew. Seated promptly and offered there flights. The wines were very nice and much better than another vendor Aug.cough *** Needles to say we had a great first visit and purchased a couple of bottles for the stay. Later returned to become a member. They are normally reservation only on Saturday, but graciously seated us. John was our funny wine "server" (he called it something else, I forgot), full of jokes and made our tasting fun. Wines are really good, I bought a couple. We had a charcuterie board, i really liked the goat cheese with the jam. Went here last weekend with the family as it had all of our most haves, which was a beautiful outdoor space, good vibes, and FOOD! We were so happy with our choice. If you want a beautiful patio to relax on while eating amazing pizza, look no further. It was very hard to find a place that served lunch to non members but luckily we found one and the food was also incredible. The caprese pizza was delicious with a nice crispy crust. Of course, the wine selections here pair very well. We opted out of a tasting because we wanted to sit outside and instead ordered ours by the glass but had no complaints. You'll find patio couches to enjoy in the sun and a good sized pavilion with tables/chairs and beverages readily available for purchase. We didn't explore all of the various buildings around the grounds but it appeared to have merchandise and assuming bottle/membership sales. For the wine, we tried a glass of the white Albrino and the red Velvet. Of the two, the Velvet was our favorite as it had a smooth finish. I visited Barons Creek this past Saturday as part of a friend's 30th birthday celebration. I wasn't too sure what to expect because I've never visited a true winery before, but if I did have expectations they would've been surpassed! I thought this place was absolutely beautiful. It was so spacious and well kept. There were a lot of people there on a Saturday afternoon, but it never felt crowded. There are plenty of seating options indoor and outdoor. Our group of 9 scheduled a tasting beforehand. Kate took great care of us! We had a menu with one side being all whites and the other being mostly reds. I only like white wines, so I really appreciated having the all-white menu as an option. She explained each wine very well and gave us time to decide which one we would like. After a few, it felt like she knew each of us and what we would like best based on what we had chosen up to that point. The last one we sampled was a group favorite and a majority of us ended up buying a bottle to take home. We ordered two charcuterie boards. They're pricey and a little small, but they were SO GOOD. Kate told us the raspberry chipotle spread was her favorite and I can see why. If I could've bought a jar of it to take home, I definitely would have. The board had chocolate covered espresso beans which I'd never tried before and now I feel like my life has been changed. I would say it's worth ordering one just to experience those two things. If you visit, let me tell you that I highly recommend the Muscat Canelli. It was my favorite, and I bought a bottle to bring home and share with my husband. I'll definitely be recommending this winery to anyone visiting Fredericksburg! read more

UPDATE: in response to the owner accusing me of a fake review, I've attached my reservation confirmation. I welcome them contacting me rather than making fake accusations that a negative review must be from a competing winery. No, I'm an extremely disappointed customer who felt like $72 was an ABSURD waste of time & money. And now there's a layer of dishonesty on top after this response from the "owner". Food pairing look like they are days old & made of plastic - this might've worked a decade ago, but with what the area has to offer now the fact that BC hasn't attempted to improve the quality of their service or offerings is frankly infuriating. Wine isn't great, and the service for the $50 tasting was awful - the staff was clearly split between way too many things & she didnt know anything about wine at all. I've been to Fredericksburg dozens of times, have tried nearly every spot in the region & there are honestly FEW wineries that have as bad of an experience as we had yesterday. Really enjoyed the wine and the walkthroughs with Janna! My favorite was the Boots Cabernet Sauvignon.

We had a great time here! 5/5 for the service, we had an amazing waitress who was so kind and helped us celebrate our four friends getting married soon. 4/5 for the wine. It was good but most wasn't local, which wasn't what I was expecting 4/5 for the location. It was a really beautiful place outside, but there was some active renovations in the location we were in. The family had a wine tasting here and we got 5 tasting for $30 before taxes and fees. This is a great price for the number of glasses we got. The employees were knowledgeable and friendly. Barons Creek is stunning ! I literally chose it based on pictures and menu. I love that you can choose between two different wine tastings. We chose mixed and loved it! Our waitress/hostess (not sure of her title) Taylor was so sweet, friendly and accommodating. She learned what type of wines we liked more and altered our last 2 wines based on that. Thank goodness because we fell in love with the 2021 muscat canelli and bought a bottle. Shout out to Taylor ! We will definitely be back for a visit when we're in Fredericksburg again. We made reservations online for what we thought was going to be a crazy busy weekend (solar eclipse). reservations are recommended but not required! Our regular tasting was in a building and it's reserved for 1 1/2 hrs. After that you can roam the grounds but the covered areas are for wine club members only. read more

We scheduled a tasting here and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Outside of the tasting is a pretty significant yard space where you can sit under a gazebo, or in some chairs. From what I understand you can also stay here while you're in town. The server was awesome at his job and displayed alot of character and added a fun twist to the tasting. He could sing and made the song relevant to what we were talking about or doing. Now I'm note sure if it was the wine or the pizza was just that good but it could've been both. We stopped into Barons Creek this last Friday for the second winery of the day and planned to go to a third winery, but the tasting experience with Kayleigh was just too fantastic to pass up! She sold me on wines like their Cab Sauv, Merlot, and their Le Baron wines which all impressed quite a bit! Theit wines were fun, full of succulent flavor, and had great depth to them. I bought four bottles and my sister & brother in law did the same! The ambience was nice and their grounds were very scenic. I'll definitely stop in again sometime soon read more
