My first wine tasting in the hill country and didn't want to go to the most popular ones to avoid the hustle and checked out Barons Creek Vineyards. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While they didn't have an amazing architecture and the ambiance wasn't great nor they had active harvestable vineyards, it was still fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got a mixed wine flight with their best wine recommendations. Wine flight: Rosé Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Muscat Canelli My favorite was the Muscat Canello. The aroma and the taste were amazing!

I had an amazing experience at Barons Creek Vineyards thanks to Mathew Hansen. From the moment we walked in, he made us feel welcome and taken care of. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand without being overwhelming. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does -- his passion really shows. Mathew took the time to learn what flavors we liked and tailored the tasting to match our preferences perfectly. Every recommendation he made was spot-on, and we ended up discovering new favorites we wouldn't have tried otherwise. He was attentive, friendly, and professional the entire time, making the visit relaxed and fun instead of rushed. If you visit Barons Creek Vineyards, definitely ask for Mathew Hansen -- he truly elevates the whole experience. Outstanding service and hospitality. 5/5 stars!

Fantastic time at Barons Creek, it was my favorite stop on our winery tour! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The property is gorgeous and made me feel like I was in California with the spacious seating area, live music and mission style building.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were in the annex as I called it, they had some seating and really packed people in but it seemed more of a space for storage.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The employee who helped us was fantastic, gave us the low down on all the wines we would be sampling and asked us preferences. They have some food options like charcuterie plates and pizza, all tasty options for a little snack. I would stop here again if I was on my own to enjoy a couple glasses of wine.

We had such a wonderful experience at Baron's Creek Vineyard thanks to Janna O.! She was incredibly kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable throughout our tasting. What really made the experience special were the stories she shared about the wines and the vineyard -- it made each pour feel meaningful and memorable instead of just a tasting. Janna took the time to explain the wines in a way that was both informative and fun, especially for those of us who aren't wine experts. Her warmth and enthusiasm truly elevated the whole visit. If you have the chance to do a tasting with Janna, don't pass it up -- she made our visit to Baron's Creek Vineyard unforgettable!

Went here last weekend with the family as it had all of our most haves, which was a beautiful outdoor space, good vibes, and FOOD! We were so happy with our choice. If you want a beautiful patio to relax on while eating amazing pizza, look no further. It was very hard to find a place that served lunch to non members but luckily we found one and the food was also incredible. The caprese pizza was delicious with a nice crispy crust. Of course, the wine selections here pair very well. We opted out of a tasting because we wanted to sit outside and instead ordered ours by the glass but had no complaints. Plenty of seating outside that filled up quickly around 1 pm. Get here at noon for the place to yourself. Very friendly staff. Couldn't ask for a better winery experience for someone who is hungry and ready to relax!

What I ordered: Rosé (rating 3/5) Property was nice but I wish the seating options were better. The inside isn't anything special and if you go in the summer the outside seating doesn't have adequate fans.

Allie was amazing! So friendly and helpful! She gave great wine recs and also a ton of other fun activities to do in town. A great place to end our winery tour! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute villas around the winery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Barons Creek has a great set up to enjoy on those Texas days when you just want to be outside taking it all in. You'll find patio couches to enjoy in the sun and a good sized pavilion with tables/chairs and beverages readily available for purchase. We didn't explore all of the various buildings around the grounds but it appeared to have merchandise and assuming bottle/membership sales. For the wine, we tried a glass of the white Albrino and the red Velvet. Of the two, the Velvet was our favorite as it had a smooth finish. We enjoyed the Mediterranean pizza as the perfect lunch along our way that day.

    Plenty of cute photo spots!

I visited Barons Creek this past Saturday as part of a friend's 30th birthday celebration. I wasn't too sure what to expect because I've never visited a true winery before, but if I did have expectations they would've been surpassed! I thought this place was absolutely beautiful. It was so spacious and well kept. There were a lot of people there on a Saturday afternoon, but it never felt crowded. There are plenty of seating options indoor and outdoor. Our group of 9 scheduled a tasting beforehand. Kate took great care of us! We had a menu with one side being all whites and the other being mostly reds. I only like white wines, so I really appreciated having the all-white menu as an option. She explained each wine very well and gave us time to decide which one we would like. After a few, it felt like she knew each of us and what we would like best based on what we had chosen up to that point. The last one we sampled was a group favorite and a majority of us ended up buying a bottle to take home. We ordered two charcuterie boards. They're pricey and a little small, but they were SO GOOD. Kate told us the raspberry chipotle spread was her favorite and I can see why. If I could've bought a jar of it to take home, I definitely would have. The board had chocolate covered espresso beans which I'd never tried before and now I feel like my life has been changed. I would say it's worth ordering one just to experience those two things. If you visit, let me tell you that I highly recommend the Muscat Canelli. It was my favorite, and I bought a bottle to bring home and share with my husband. I'll definitely be recommending this winery to anyone visiting Fredericksburg!

In response to the owner accusing me of a "fake review", here is my reservation confirmation.

UPDATE: in response to the owner accusing me of a fake review, I've attached my reservation confirmation. I welcome them contacting me rather than making fake accusations that a negative review must be from a competing winery. No, I'm an extremely disappointed customer who felt like $72 was an ABSURD waste of time & money. And now there's a layer of dishonesty on top after this response from the "owner". Food pairing look like they are days old & made of plastic - this might've worked a decade ago, but with what the area has to offer now the fact that BC hasn't attempted to improve the quality of their service or offerings is frankly infuriating. Wine isn't great, and the service for the $50 tasting was awful - the staff was clearly split between way too many things & she didnt know anything about wine at all. I've been to Fredericksburg dozens of times, have tried nearly every spot in the region & there are honestly FEW wineries that have as bad of an experience as we had yesterday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Two stars because the building is cute, but still dated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] TLDR: Do better

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This stop offered great indoor and outdoor seating as well as a yummy food menu.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We enjoyed the meats pizza very much! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful spot for photos.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Ask the Community - Barons Creek Vineyards

I have a party of 8, too big of a reservation. Will we be able to do wine tasting as walk ins?

Does anyone have a photo of the food menu? Don't they have pizzas?

Yes they have pizzas and cheese boards and hummus

Do they have 2 or 4 Tesla destination chargers? Person on phone did not know. Please post a picture if you are there. Cheers.

    Here plugged now! 4 chargers

Dog friendly? Do they allow service dogs?

I believe service dogs dogs fall under federal law so they have to let them in as long as you have your pet registered. But I'm not an expert but I believe that the way it is.

Vibe is euro-bistro and the staff is perfectly attentive. Prices are high, but honestly aligned to the quality of the food, at least the dishes we had were worth the prices. Food: Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with Onion/Bacon flash fried collard greens, whipped potatoes and house gravy and Jalapeno Cornbread for $32 Reuben on Marble Rye for $24 16oz Stella Artois for $10 We agreed that the fried chicken (5/5) was the best we could remember having. Whipped potatoes (5/5) were light, fluffy and perfect taste/texture. The gravy was like brown butter (5/5). The collard greens (5/5) were flash fried and if you've never had them like this, it's like eating collard green potato chips. Cornbread (3/4) was a bit too delicate and sweet for our taste. You couldn't pick it up without it falling apart. The Ruben (3/5). My wife loves a good Ruben sandwich. This one had the makings of a good one, but they use a Thousand Island sauce (too much of it) on the sandwich, and it hides the flavor of the meat. Next time we would ask for the sandwich without the TI sauce, see if that improves the rating. The sandwich came with house made potato chips (5/5), a small house salad with vinaigrette (5/5) and a large, pickled cucumber. I know, that's a pickle, but these are cucumbers that have gone maybe a third of the way through the process, so the cucumber taste is really prevalent. Lastly, we had the Creme Brulé (3/5) for dessert. It was nice, but the custard was coffee and caramel flavored, and we prefer the standard custard look and flavor. The caramel should come from the top layer, not the custard. The top layer was a bit too thick as well. We liked it, just didn't love it. Overall, quality food, service and vibe with prices that are aligned to more special occasions than everyday eating out. We'll be back to try the Monday Crawfish Etoufee and the Tuesday Duck Confit daily specials...look too good to pass up.
