Greasy , unappealing brisket. Strange baked beans with red peppers. Inedible potato salad. Floppy texas toast.

I am a bit shocked tonight to write this post... But this was the worst experience I have had at this Cracker Barrel or any Cracker Barrel in a long time maybe ever. The food was not on, and the service was not on. Sometimes you experience a little blip in one or the other area, but rarely both and not usually spectacularly poor in both ways. Blah and bland would be great terms to use. Just downright blah. And disappointing. To top it off, I purchased meals using my app or at least my rewards information. It appears that none of that information has been loaded onto my app, despite having purchased the meals to the tune of 800+ dollars 4+ days ago. When I inquired as a store, what could be done pretty much there were shoulder shrugs. I could've asked for a manager and maybe I should have just didn't have it in me to fiddle with it tonight. The follow up - aka, the next day... I picked up 47 take away meals and was pleased with the service and the food, etc. I am grateful they were there and open to help take care of us for dinner on Thanksgiving day. No to go silverware was provided - though I did ask.

You have to wait a really long time for a table and you have nothing else to do but shop in their store. I guess that's what the experience is all about (?) The best part was the super friendly and helpful staff in the store area. They were all great. The wait staff, not so much.

I had a lovely cocktail, some sort of spritz type drink, and we both had some solid sandwiches. Half of the Big Gobbler made a filling lunch, with leftover for the next day and my lunch companion "gobbled" up a club sandwich. Yes we're in at 6pm on a Friday but half the tables are empty and the bar from the photos is empty. So not a too busy issue. We didn't like how the salads, then appetizers, then food all delivered to the table within 3 minutes of each other. Not cool. The worst part of the dinner was those lousy bagged loaded French fries. Boo The rest of the meal was Good. The chef likes mushrooms as much as I do, on everything. My salisbury steak was generally cooked well but lacked the traditional gravy on top. Without the gravy it was just a cooked burger. My wife enjoyed her smothered chicken and I enjoyed the mushrooms that were on top of hers. And Mother enjoyed her catfish dinner. Her favorite part of the dish was the garlic bread. We both ordered happy hour drinks that we ended up paying full price for. The drinks were small but very tasty! My overall opinion was good, better than an OK 3 star. But it was nothing personally I want to go back for. Solid 4 star.

We had to try it! We both had the steaks, my wife having the ribeye and I had the New York strip. We both had the fully loaded sweet potato. I had the salad bar and she had the corn. Everything was incredibly tasty. The owner was very friendly unhelpful and it was fun to read up on the history of the railroad car. If we are ever back in the area, it is definitely on our list of places to visit again.

It provides an unique environment with a folksy vibe. The railroad car does not look as clean and crisp as their web page photo and it's been painted what appears to be a dark burgundy. It was dark and raining so it's hard to say on the color. Inside is cozy and comfortable. It's a neat venue. The menu consists of typical American comfort food, at least for the south. Three of us us ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, cream gravey and fried okra. The outlier ordered fried chicken livers with French fries and fried okra. All four of us were pleased with our meals. The chicken fry was good as were the potatoes and cream gravey. The fried okra was excellent. The chicken livers were excellent and begged for mashed potatoes and cream gravey. The French fries Ken ordered weren't very good. I think they were under cooked. We had a nice, enjoyable dinner. The service was excellent and the prices moderate
