Our first visit here was awesome. We were poking for a gas dryer. I never buy new, for washer and dryers. Things just do not last long. I prefer refurbished because I feel I get a higher quality product, it just comes dings and dents. Bought a Maytag, was asking 350.00 but we offered 250.00 and we will take it with us ourselves. (they offer delivery for a small cost) but we have a truck. The salesman was nice, he helped us load it up. He accepted our offer. Took it home, hooked it up. Works perfect! I see that my review was removed, which is very alarming. First off, i have dealt with them for years but was very disappointed. I purchased a refrigerator 2 years ago and was charged for delivery. They went to the wrong door, there are 2 apartments in the house where I live and I told them this. They left without even calling me to check and then wanted to charge me another $65 delivery fee. I went back to the store to speak with manager who was very rude and racist. He started calling me Niggers and telling me to leave the store. Mind you, this was done in front of other customers, which was very alarming to me. Told me that they would call the police, and I called there Bluff, because I know that I was in the right. No Police called, and I had to pay a friend to redeliver my refrigerator. The manager was so Nasty, he tried to break my item as he was bringing it out for my friend to load onto truck!!!!! went to artic whole sale 6 months ago and bought a washer for $415.00 and it started leaking out the bottom all the water all over the floor. we called them and the said are parts warranty is still good but to get someone out there we have to give them another $150.00 to fix the leak. we bye a used washer and it breaks down 6 months later and you want me to pay you. just another money grabbing company whos selling you stuff that wont last a year but charging top dollar! your better off buying one new from another place. read more

Great spot if you're looking for affordable refurbished appliances. They also sell new machines at a competitive rate -- most Crosley brand items. Everything from AC window units, dehumidifiers, stoves, washer/dryer sets, stoves, dishwashers, etc. I went in looking for a washing machine after my friend and repairman recommended this place. They had newer and older machines that had been refurbished. I found a Kenmore 80 series machine that was in my price range. They had two -- one with a fabric softener dispenser and one without. For whatever reason I went with the one with he fabric softener. They offer delivery and will pick up your old machine -- $40. Perfect for me because I don't have easy access to a truck/van and there was no way I could get that machine out of the basement even with Willy's help. They delivered it 2 days later and it was a quick setup. Used it a couple times and noticed the timer wasn't going through the rinse cycle. Not ideal. I went into the shop the next day and got it all resolved. It was aggravating to have to deal with this just days after buying the machine. Thankfully they were really helpful and delivered a new machine to replace the old one. If you pay cash they'll discount it a bit and don't hesitate to negotiate the prices for the refurbished machines. read more

Very disappointed with the service I received from Artic Wholesale. I rarely ever do reviews, but out of a matter of principle, here I am. I purchased a stove to be delivered for a rental property. When they delivered they picked up the one there - that was NOT to be picked up. This would be known by all because they charge you to pick up items, and it was noted not to pick up. When I called them (repeatedly mind you) - to either return it to me or credit me for it they would not. Stating they would have scrapped it. Funny, as they specialize in used appliances, but this one they would scrap?! I find that extremely hard to believe, as it was in very good shape, Kenmore, Stainless Steel gas stove - not cheap- and I planned to sell separately. I was never able to reach the owners directly. Instead they just tell their staff their response and hold no accountability themselves. I tried to handle this professionally, but apparently that is not how the owners of this company choose to operate. read more

Very poor customer service. The warranty sucks after 90 days they charge almost 100 dollars just to come out and see if they could fix the equipment. They try to cover it up with " you don t have to pay for the part" but really you are paying for the part with that type of of fee. Very disappointed with their service overall. read more

Found a used appliance for a decent price. Paid $45 for delivery. Dryer to be delivered between 11 and 4pm. Took off work. At 2:30 they call and say 10 minutes. At 2:45pm they call and say something (Broken English, can't understand what they said)... and say 45 minutes. 45 mins later, still not there. Call and talk to manager who says it's my fault? I'm not patient enough and they contract out their delivery so he can't help me. At 4 they finally show up. Drop it off and leave, after saying they'd hook it up (call the delivery guy back who suddenly decides he doesn't know English). Hook up the dryer myself. Dryer squeaks SO LOUD when on, I have NEVER heard one sound like this. It clearly has an issue, you can't run this thing. Cal manager again and he says I need to wait a few days for a service call. No.... you don't sell a broken appliance to begin with! Demanded they come pick it back up, and will come get my money. Avoid this place. Pay the extra $150 and go to a real store. read more

We bought brand new appliances from Arctic in the City because the Batavia store didn't have what we were looking for. We were told by the guy in Batavia that if we said we were at his store and didn't find what we needed they would "take care of us" and give us a better deal. We walked into the Rochester store looking for a fridge and stove. The two girls working were nice but they hovered around us like animals stalk their prey. We have an old house so we had to measure everything to ensure it would go thru the doors. We settled on one brand and completed the purchase. Incidentally, they stated they do not deal on price if you are buying new. We got sticker price, no compromise. Certainly we didn't get taken care of. When they called to schedule delivery they told us between 0530-0700. So we got up and waited. They didn't show up until after 1100. They forgot to load the truck with our stuff and when we called to complain they had to return from buffalo to get in. There was no one to call until 0900 when they opened. Two very nice men arrived to drop the stuff off. Nice, but spoke only Ukrainian. It was a series of gestures to accomplish what we wanted. They got the stove in, then broke my antique wall mounted sconce glad shade and bent the arm beyond repair. The fridge wouldn't fit thru the door to the kitchen without taking the doors off. They refused. They left my fridge in the middle of my hallway. My old fridge had already been loaded on their truck and it's a good thing it was child outside do we didn't lose all our frozen meat. The owner was called about taking the doors off the fridge to make them fit and he said that would void our 10 year warranty. The also damaged 100 year old hardwood floors by pushing the appliances on them. The appliances are in now and connected. I will never do business with them again. read more

Purchased a dryer from them 2 months ago and it is already broken. They said it comes with a one year warranty so scheduled a guy to come fix it. Called the day they claimed to be coming, said service guy will be here by 3pm. It is now 3pm so I called again and now they claim there is no service guy coming. What a joke. I purchased a gas dryer from them for $200 plus installation and delivery charge. it worked greatfor 20 months. When it started causing trouble, I called them up and they had someone out to see it the next day. Walter was a great tech who got the machine up and running again in no time. I've been buying appliances here for my rental properties and my home since 2004. I've never had an issue with an appliance that wasn't quickly resolved. They build, fix, and repair the appliances onsite. They also provide warranties, and can reasonably fix anything they sell you at anytime. Meh. Arctic Wholesale Refrigeration features refurbished home appliances. Most of their floor inventory had cosmetic dents and dings. The sales representative stressed their cash discount and said all prices were negotiable. However, most of the posted prices for their used appliances appeared higher than retail stores charge for new models. They also charge for delivery while most "big box" stores deliver for free. Helpful and friendly at the Rochester location, busy, I was patient, got cash discount on two used units (washer and dryer). Had an issue with the washer within the first two weeks, called and they sent someone out within two days -to Scottsville (again, patient, no problems)- the repair guy took about 5 seconds and realized when they refurbished the washer, they forgot to replace a spring that holds the bin, I'm guessing its a common thing, fixed it up, and washer has been good for over 18 months, dryer needs a new felt liner on the drum, guessing with youtube and $30 we'll get another 18 months out of it too. read more

If I could give it a zero star I would. My friend recommended this pale and i don't know why at first I thought I was getting a good deal on a used stove they claim it oes through a rigorous inspection has a 1 year warranty etc. I asked before I buy if I get this home and decided I hate it can I return it tomorrow and was told yes but there may be a restocking fee (for what it came right off the floor). Anyways I get it home and immediately after plugging it in I discovered something is broken on it. The hot surface light goes on and stays on all day which means there is a broken hot surface switch that needs replacing. i also discover there are more dings on the sides I couldn't see because it was right up against other stove and the bottom drawer is broken. When i call the next morning to see I want to return I am told no until their service guy comes out to inspect it. If this was any other business an immediate return would be accepted. It doesn't say anywhere on receipt you can't return. So now I have to wait for their service guy all day. Stay away buy a new one. Lesson learned. I bought a gas stove and refrigerator last November and the oven on the stove stopped working within the first week. They sent a guy out to fix no problem. Fast forward to this November, the exact same thing happened where my oven stopped working. Ok I call and they say I have to pay 100 for the repair guy to come fix. I pay it and the guy said I have to pay another 180 for the exact same part he put in last year! Called the manager Steve and he said he can put my 100 towards another stove but that I couldn't get my money back even thought the exact same problem as last year occurred and the guy didn't fix it! So I'm out my money bc ain't no way I'm going to buy another stove from them! That's almost another 300 for a stove I already paid 400 for exactly one year ago. Arctic posted an ad on Craigslist under the "For Sale by Owner" section violating the terms and conditions of Craigslist. They advertised a refrigerator and stove for $199. However, when I called, the guy said, "Oh, that fridge has been sold." It was a large 18 cu. ft. fridge. Then he said, That price was for a 10 cu. ft. fridge! So, more bait and switch! The scam you with the preception. They have a large floor inventory which is not a discount compared to buying a new appliance in the store brand new. They stress a discount if you pay with cash. I purchased a stove and refrigerator. On delivery the stove was on and hot and one of the eye would not turn off. The Kick plate? was missing from the fridge and not generating any cold air. I called immediately and they said they would swap them out on friday which was 3 days away. I had to demand a service call that day. when the tech arrived he said oh just unplu it when your not using it aahhh no not optional was my response and he told me to get some ply wood put it under the fridge so it dont tip forward. He told me well you already baught it its missing parts and the delivery guys should not have said anything. UNBELIEVEABLE! and yes this really happen. So beware because small claims court here I come. Most people that shop there do so because their money is limited and they are just snatching it. Shame on them. read more

I ended up with a good washer dryer set, delivered, for $450. Great price. Also, in my infinite wisdom I purchased an electric dryer when I have a gas hookup, when I called back the next day to swap it for a gas dryer they were extremely helpful. Delivery people they hired were also awful..very rude and wanted an extra $35 to hook up the gas to the stove which only toke myself a few minutes on my own. The stove makes annoying loud metal sound throughout all day long when it is not on. I would never go to Arctic again. read more

I used for repair and when the repairman came, my stove was unrepairable, so though they charged $150 for the appointment, allowed me to use the entire credit toward a used appliance. I didn't have any problem with the used wash machine. Lasted for as long as my daughter had her apartment and probably would have lasted longer but she bought a house with appliances. read more
