I called to let them know and they were happy to re-do the meal and deliver, which was awesome. We declined and may hear from them again, but that is not why I called. I usually look for the daily specials, especially fish dishes. $14.95 for broiled seafood platter: salmon, cod, shrimp and scallops served with bread crumbs and a side of butternut squash. Unbelievably GREAT! I've been served a similar portion of either salmon OR cod at the price. Two shrimps and three scallops...nice bonus! Each was very tastily prepared. Nothing over cooked. The cod was fresh, not frozen...yes, I can tell the difference. My waitress obviously would have preferred to be anywhere else, but the other waitress was on top of things. Thankfully. I will definitely return. And try to get the other waitress next time. She was so solicitous. read more

I have been meaning to leave a review for a while. I have enjoyed the food here in the past, and frequently ate there with my children. The waitresses have always been friendly and attentive - as has most the staff/owners. Unfortunately the male bartender (with dark hair) was extremely rude to me and my husband one night during Covid. We had a meal, then wanted to grab some drinks after. He told us we could sit at the bar then as we sat down he got angry with us and told us we could not?! It was so odd, we hadn't done a thing. We told the nice waitress what he did and when she went to speak with him , he got mad at her! Another couple eating there was watching the whole thing and apologized to us! I have no idea who that bartender thinks he is, but he hurt this business as we won't go back, and we can't recommend the place to people who rent our home in the Summer. When Ardeo was in So Yarmouth the food was delicious. Went to the new restaurant. Ordered panini with grilled veggies. It had sliced tomatoes, mozzarella, canned artichoke and pesto on wheat. Inside totally cold. No grilled veggies. Really really disappointed. If they have no grilled veggies they need to say so. Plus the bread was so wrong. Kind of gross. We had lunch recently and we were very pleased.The lamb burger was delicious cooked perfectly.My husband had the falafel wrap which he said was great.Everything was fresh. Very disappointing service experience. The service was slow, highlighted by the presentation of my entree 20 minutes after the the delivery of entrees to the other guests in our party; it was delivered to another table. Rather than complain in front of our guests, I approached the manager after everyone departed. She was appropriately apologetic. Took a nice little trip with the family to the cape during mid week...nothing was open during the day. Stop here and had a nice experience. We had the restaurant all to ourselves. Food was better than I thought. The price was very reasonable. (that's why I thought the food wouldn't be great) Our server who was the hostess / waiter / and bar tender was personable and very knowledgeable concerning the menu and drinks! Just finished dining at Ardeo. They got us a table outside as the place was half empty. 8PM on a Thursday night. The server was Nikita, gracious initially with some jokes about himself learning the menu as he's a J1 visitor, something that is quite common around hotels and restaurants in the Cape. Nikita could use some personal hygiene if he's going to serve tables and reach out to serve water. Please! We order 2 chicken parm, one salmon and one scrod. Food was fine, large plates, nothing spectacular, perhaps a bit oily to my taste. Within 1 minute of serving us, Nikita comes back and asks how's the food? We said, it's fine. Immediately he asks if we want to see the desert menu! I haven't touched my plate yet. WTF. We looked at him while we paused eating and he didn't even notice the awkwardness of the moment. We continue eating and twice we stopped by to interrupt us asking if we wanted something else. No manners, no politeness. I was sipping my wine and I was 3/4 done with my dinner when we arrived again and asked us if we wanted the check. Again, we paused and looked at him. It didn't occur to him we should probably finish eating first before to considering desert? Anyway, he brought the check to us. I finished my food and he started retiring everything including my wine! Just gave him a look and grabbed the glass. Don't cross that line Nikita. We ended up rushing because of the inexperienced and rude Russian server. A horrible experience. We walked to the Mansion to relax a bit and have a drink on our own pace... Jeez... Avoid this place unless you really don't care how you may be treated while dining. read more

I love this restaurant, and as usual the food was excellent. But our dining experience was ruined today by the bartender Brian. He was loud and verbally abusive to our server. I don't care what type of issues the staff have, there is no reason to demean another person loudly and in front of guests. This was an ongoing beratement from the bartender, he would not let it go. We could hear every word he said. Loud and abusive. In addition, he talked about it with everyone else on staff that came into the bar. Swearing was also involved. The girl that was our server kept her cool and did not raise her voice. I praise her for her maturity in a bad situation. I have worked in many restaurants in my time, but his terrible behaviour in front of guests should not be tolerated. He ruins what otherwise could have been a wonderful meal. Horrible Service. Average food. Bartender is rude and obnoxious to customers and wait staff. He was condescending to a waitress who asked him a question about a drink. Then after I paid for a pickup order and he gave back my card and a receipt (with no where to sign) I took my food and went out. He chased me down in the parking lot and yelled at me for not signing. I told him you didn't give me anything to sign. He said "have you ever used a credit card before?" Then after I signed. He said "nice try" like I was trying to steal the food that I gave him my card to pay for. So many better options on the Cape with better food and much nicer staff. Ok so i would absolutely love to Give this place 5 stars because it is well worth it but ill explain. We arrived with a party of 7, that included a 4 year old. We were greeted by a waiter who's name began with a Z and was here for work while on break from school in Russia. He made the night enjoyable. The food is excellent from the appetizer to the main course. The service was impeccable and the friendliness of the waiter made us feel at home. With that said here was my issue and my advice to anyone eating here, the bartender Brian is very boisterous and rough around the edges. We didn't even deal with him directly but were seated in the same room as his bar. He was very rude to our waiter as well as other employees he dealt with. Even if its a friendly type of relationship he may have with them it is very uncalled for in front of guests and made our table feel a bit uncomfortable being there. He would degrade the waiter when he would put in a drink order and maybe didn't understand what a drink was made of, good thing about that is the waiter doesn't make the drinks. So my advice for the restaurant would be to chat with brian and have that attitude become more professional which can be done. I never want to see anyone lose a job over something that could be curbed if addressed, but until than i would request a table in a room other than that with the bar. I can't attest to the quality of the food because we were never served. We waited with our two kids for nearly an hour for our food and finally gave up and left. When we complained to the server, he tried to tell us we weren't waiting as long as we thought - which is ridiculous because anyone with hungry kids knows that you count every minute until your food arrives. What a great meal! My wife had the Angus tips and I had two kabobs - Lamb and Swordfish. Both meals were cooked perfect and were very delicious. For a starter we had the falafel platter and split a Caesar salad. Both of these were good. The thing that really set this place apart was the friendly family atmosphere. We had our two year old with us and toward the end of our meal the hostess volunteered to spend time with our little guy so we could finish our meal. He loved getting a 'tour' of the restaurant and meeting all the different staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and with the food tasting great this place was easily 5 stars for us. read more

My husband and I had dinner at Ardeo in Brewster last night to celebrate our anniversary. We had the most charming waiter from Macedonia, whose name, I believe, was Darko. He truly added to the fun of the evening. The food itself was excellent! I had the chicken piccata over roasted potatoes, ( a change I requested..... instead of pasta), and my husband had Scallops Pesto. We ended the evening with tiramisu, which was also very good. Having read other reviews, I want to mention that the bartender last night was a woman, who was so observant that she came from across the room to wipe a little bit of spilled water from our table.......so there was no loud obnoxious bartender in sight! Had lunch here over the summer with my husband and his aunt and uncle. Pretty empty when we walked in on a Friday afternoon. I ordered the gorgonzola and candied walnut salad and asked to add chicken. When our meals were brought out, I was served a plain garden salad with chicken. I told the young waiter it was the incorrect order, and he replied that they were out of all the ingredients to prepare the salad that I had asked for. Why was this not told to me earlier? So I go ahead and eat the salad because we're supposed to be having a nice family lunch and I didn't want to be difficult. (My chicken was grilled to a pretty intense char, so it wasn't very appetizing; the rest of the salad was just a regular salad, nothing special.) Much later after we finish eating, the bill is brought out. I'm charged for the full price of the salad I ordered that did not exist, plus chicken, which came out to about $17. I asked if the price could be adjusted to reflect what I actually received, which was basically a garden salad with chicken which would have been about $12. It took the staff over an hour to try to figure this out. Apparently neither our waiter nor the manager on duty could override the charge in the computer system, and creating a new bill was not possible either. I'm not sure why they don't have the ability to do this in case they make a mistake when creating a bill. Finally they bring the check over and tell us there is basically nothing they can do and we just have to pay full price. I don't think I'm a high maintenance person when it comes to dining out, and I'm not cheap either (I recognize it was only about $5 extra), but the entire experience has made me (as well as my husband's family, who live on the Cape) certain that we will never return. The food was okay, but the experience was terrible. I don't blame the waiter because I think he was not trained well at all. The management needs to provide better service. read more

Just ate there tonight and the food and service were both awful. I was very excited to try this restaurant because I love Mediterranean food and the outdoor seating atmosphere was very nice however my family and I were disappointed. The bread was served with a cup of olive oil with no herbs or flavor to it. I ordered the mezza platter and the falafel was terrible as was the cucumber yogurt dip. The falafel was dried and overcooked and tasted like it was made with a mix. For a Mediterranean restaurant to not have great basic Mediterranean food made from scratch is very disappointing. My father's food came with sweet potatoes and they were hard and inedible. The service was also terrible. It took a long time to get our food and the waitress didn't come back to check on the quality of the food until we were almost done eating and then it was too late. When she came back out she argued that the cook said that's how they are supposed to be cooked and maybe we just got a bad batch but it wasn't her fault and they were busy (they weren't which maybe is a bad sign since it was 7pm on a sunday in summer). I've never had a waitress come out before and say the customer was wrong in not liking their food. Very disappointing since I live here year round and was excited to have a new place to go to but there are plenty of much better restaurants, wont go here again. read more

Overpriced and rude. We came with a large group and sat in the bar area. The hostess seemed to decide right away they were weren't classy enough to be eating here. A waitress serving the tables barked at us when we didn't sit fast enough. "Would you sit?!" She seemed really put out because she had to serve our group. We chose to sit at the bar instead. The bartender was very sweet but clearly overwhelmed and could not keep up with the orders. Many of the orders were incorrect or were not placed at all. At the end the waitress who yelled at us to sit walked by and huffed under her breath " guess I'm not making any money today". No my dear, I guess you aren't. read more

Waited over 1 hour for our food with 4 little kids. All tables sat after us, around us, were served their dinners promptly. Couldn't wait any longer because kids became restless, so asked for dinners to be boxed to go. Manager had no apologies or sympathy for us. Finally over an hour later got our boxed food and took it home. Once we opened it at home we found raw chicken and raw hamburgers and had to throw our dinners in the trash. Eaten here only once before, but the experience was nice. I had dinner with my parents and the staff was friendly to us. The food was good, but nothing outstanding really. I later surprised my parents with a giftcard to here for their anniversary and hope they had a similar if not better experience. This place was terrible. There was a piece of wire in my meal and the host reacted as if this wasn't unusual. The wait staff was terrible -- dropping dishes and glasses. Only positive, the hostess and server were friendly and aimed to please. Menu noted that Ardeo's was a family owned restaurant & that they'd been in the restaurant business for over 30years. However, according to our server, this particular Brewster location was just 2 years old. Decor inside looked like it was the leftovers from the other two restaurants that resided their prior. Very tired and in need of a refresh and paint. When food arrived it reflected the tiredness of the restaurant and was mediocre at best. Burgers were dry and over cooked, chicken parm was flavorless and asparagus ravioli red sauce dish served w/ seasonable vegetables (beets???) felt and tasted more like they were trying to use up all the left over vegetables they had in their kitchen before they went bad. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. Not sure how anyone does. read more

We have been eating at the various Ardeos for years. We went to the Brewster location for lunch on a rainy day because of free kids' meals. The food was very good but it took a very long time to get the food and our check. We were very disappointed with the service and time. My [now] husband and I hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner at Ardeo in Brewster on May 19, 2016 and we couldn't have been happier! Ardeo came recommended from a friend and from the moment I submitted an inquiry, I knew it was the place. Their side bar area was the perfect size for our intimate event. I was paired up with Heather Gatchell from Ardeo and she was truly a saint to work with! Heather always answered all of my questions (and I had a lot!) in a timely manner and made me feel SO comfortable planning the event there without having ever seen the space in person. When I finally got to meet Heather, I felt like I'd known her for years! :) She let me bring in my own centerpieces I made, as well as votive candles. I dropped them off during the day before our ceremony rehearsal and Heather set everything up SO perfectly! It was better than I ever could have imagined when we walked in for dinner. I was also able to bring my little Bose speaker and play our own music which was really fun! The food there was dynamite and everyone left full and happy. The bartender and server taking care of us during the event were attentive and helpful as well. We were having such a good time here that I actually didn't take a single picture of the event! Ardeo truly helped us live in the moment and enjoy our night with family and friends. We can't wait to go back for dinner next time we're on the Cape! My husband and I have dined here and in their other locations for years... we have our favorites, for sure. Mine is either the salmon, tuscan chicken or the short ribs. My husband loves the chicken or eggplant parm or the steak tips. We've also ordered their family meals (a great value and also quite delicious) and, even though the restaurant is closed for the winter, Joe agreed to provide family meals for a party that I could pick up at the Captain's Golf Course where he was doing a catering event. That day, due to an impending snowstorm, his event was cancelled but Joe kept his word and provided the food that I needed for a family dinner after my daughter's bridal shower. He not only provided the food but arranged to have it delivered to me earlier than we had planned to pick it up so I wouldn't have to leave the shower. Got there a little after they opened so we were the only ones there. Took about 45 min to get our food maybe because they were watching TV which was playing loud in the background. Heard some commotion and crying and very loud talking about oh I can't go home etc. we were quite embarrassed. Saw the waitress bring our food out and go into another room with it for a minute or two - not sure what that was about. I ordered steak tip salad dressing on the side - dry dry meat and no dressing on the side. Ordered a Mediterranean plate for hubby and he got some chicken kabob which was also dry - he's a vegetarian. Had to ask for bread -twice. Came when we were done eating.
