I absolutely hate the fact that I'm even writing this review as I have given maybe 2-3 reviews in my life that were under 5 stars. Classic case of a shop having a trusting, nice and ready to pay for whatever needed to be done lady come in and they took advantage of the situation. My truck had been sitting for 3 years, needing a new engine so my mother tried surprising me by taking it to M2 and getting the engine replaced (approx. $11k) along with a "full break job", then calling me and telling me it was ready. Well, I made it about 3 miles from the shop and check engine light came on and smoke started coming from one of the turbos. Called the shop and they told me to bring it back which I did and the mechanic told me to, "just keep driving it, it takes a while for the check engine light to go off and the smoking is probably just residue from changing fluids." . So I do, knowing that it's under warranty. Week later, still smoking and getting worse and check engine light still on so they tell me to bring it in like I have nothing better to do. After 4 days of it sitting there with not one person looking at it they finally tell me the following day that I need a new O2 sensor and vacuum pump (another $700). Pick it up and once again, I don't even make it home and it's still smoking and check engine light comes back on. They tell me once again, "just bring it in," starting to get frustrated now. Well fast forward about 4-5 more times of me bringing it in and they tell me that I need a new catalytic converter (another $1600) which I told them to replace in the beginning but was persuaded otherwise. Pick it up and guess what happened, same shit, doesn't even make it home and it starts misfiring. I call them and they tell me they had replaced all the plugs and checked coil packs so I take it in one last time, I believe this was visit number 15 within 3 months. Not once did they pay for my truck to be towed due to their negligence with working on my truck but this last time I pick up my truck with 9 miles to empty, that's odd, I dropped it off and it had 365 miles to empty. Everyone, even the owner swears up and down it only was driven for 5 miles. Which that alone pissed me off cuz they had told me they test drove my truck around 50 miles to make sure everything ran well. They also tell me on that visit that my front break pads are bad and I need new ones. WTF? Yall replaced the pads and rotors 2 months ago and half of that 2 months the trucks been in your possession. So I decide to do a full break job on it myself and notice a couple things. First off, the caliper bracket bolt was so hard to get off that I had to use my M18 high torque impact on it for about 15 seconds of hammering to finally get it loose. If rotors were replaced 2 months ago that bolt should have come right off, that bolt hadn't been broken in a decade. Secondly, the set screws holding the rotor to the hub are all missing on every single rotor. Oh and lastly, somewhere in the midst of all this, one salesman called my mother telling her my truck needed new hoses so without question she paid. Well, I'm no career mechanic but I can do just about anything given some time to my truck and not one hose had been replaced other than one hose that fed coolant to the turbo but just to one of the turbos not both. lol. I finally said f*** it and replaced all the plugs, coil packs and coil pack connector plugs and it misfired for about another half day and has run like a champ ever since. F*** M2, they will bend you over any chance they get and make you feel as if they are doing you a favor. Well after $16k spent at M2, about 20 days of work lost, $200 worth of gas driving to their shop and back, $150 in Ubers and around $500 in tow fees getting my truck towed to their shop, I can finally say, yall are actual scumbags. You know who you are too. I assure you, you have not heard the last from me. I don't even think I included all the issues but these were the main ones. If I could leave zero stars I would.

They never disappointed me. The price quotes were very very good. Services were done right. I recently moved far away from Garland (tough I still work in Richardson). So, I don't go to Top Auto often recently. But, I will go there again for some big repair jobs definitely, though I will have to drive over an hour. One more thing: They are very honest. They never cheat. For an old vehicle, they recommend not to spend money for minor issues. For instance, they never recommended to replace shock absorbers of my 18 years old MDX, while the dealer was pushing for it; the dealer price was even twice or 3 times higher than the used MDX trade-in price!!! I strongly recommend Top Auto, as I have done to my personal friends many times.

I have been going to these guys for nearly two decades so I can definitely say that this was not by my choice. The pricing to replace spark plugs was over $150 more than a different Kwik Kar location. When you consider that we have two cars that need the same thing, that's over $300. How could we possibly not go to the other guy? Needless to say I am so so glad they decided to retain the employees and secure their jobs but the price hike was just too much for our family. I hope they can compromise on this and keep some of us locals around for their business.

It would not accept a charge so I called and talked to Justin and he said bring it in and they would look at it. I informed him at that time I had a 3rd party warranty on the vehicle and he said they would deal with it. He called and informed me that he had to run a diagnostic on it and said warranty company would not cover the charges only parts and labor lie number one . Went on to tell me it would be an ungodly amount per hrs. And would be around 750.00 I said OK not realizing he has not actually talked to them. Didn't hear back from him so finally after a week I called concerned I was going to pay more for the diagnosis he informed me he would do it for 750 but he wasn't able to figure it out and felt it personally needed to know. I said ok didn't hear back for probably another week to him telling me I needed hv charge cable and hv batteries he wasn't able to do it but referred me to someone else to the tune $20,000 or higher. Said I would come get the vehicle what was owed he stated $930.00 was not happy but wasn't leaving the vehicle either. So went got the vehicle ended up taking it to a guy close to home good guy he told me that my high voltage charge port was cut and missing a fuse and warranty company voided my warranty and could not be fixed had to buy another cable$1200.00 so I call Justin a real winner he admitted to cutting the cable without consent and said it was necessary for the diagnostic $930 ago and said he didn't ​feel any obligations to make it right was totally comfortable with what he had done and said he was stepping away and not going to have any more conversation about it i could talk to the manager which would be better thought referred me to Janet or something I ask her if she could find a cable good or bad just wanted warranty company to cover it she said I quote "at the end of the day we are not replacing the cable" in was appalled being in a family that owns a business i cant imagine being around long.
