Aria serves up Mediterranean/Middle Eastern eats, and their menu includes sandwiches and wraps, entrees, side dishes, and desserts. We came here for an early dinner, and based on their website, they were supposed to open at 3 PM on a Saturday; however, the 'Open' sign wasn't turned on and the door was closed. When we finally walked in, there seems to be a sense of being overwhelmed and being confused from the staff; not sure if they have never hosted a larger party, or if they were debating whether to officially state that they were open for business? We did see a party of 3 already dining in, which was odd. We ordered: +a Salmon Kabob Sandwich - it's a pita sandwich with grilled chunks of marinated salmon +a Chicken Kabob Sandwich - it's a pita sandwich with chunks of marinated chicken +a Chicken Kabob entree - comes with basmati rice, a grilled tomato, tzatziki sauce, pita, and a choice of cucumber or a Greek salad; the 'Greek Salad' is actually tabouleh, so we opted for the cucumber salad; the tomato wasn't even grilled and was just half of a raw tomato; the chicken, while some overcooked, others were RAW (please see photos); rice was not flavorful at all +a Chicken Curry entree - comes with basmati rice, a grilled tomato, tzatziki sauce, pita, and a choice of cucumber or a Greek salad; the 'Greek Salad' is actually tabouleh, so we opted for the cucumber salad; the chicken curry had an off-putting odor to it; the chicken itself seemed to be white meat and shredded, but super overdry; sauce seemed similar to a chana masala that's heavily tomato-based We did let the staff know about the raw chicken, but it wasn't addressed. When you sit down, a pita basket with hummus is provided; the pita was very warm, and the hummus, while more on the bland side, was a good starter; I just wished someone was available to refill the pita and/or the dip. Service was a bit nonexistent, and it was hard trying to request correct order of drinks, extra silverware, plates, etc. Overall, this was just not a good experience. Metered street parking and lot is available. +RAW chicken served +nonexistent service +metered street parking available

A tiny Mediterranean restaurant with amazing food. Such friendly staff and reasonable prices. I loved the hummus and we had a delicious meal outside on the terrace.

Delicious lamb patties- platter. Sorry I ate it before I took the pic. Big portions!

One word- Fabulous! Picked up a platter at their Bryn Mawr Farmers market stand. Lamb patties, yellow rice, cauliflower/chick peas and okra. I've been looking a for a middle eastern restaurant Afghan or Persian . Not sure of the exact cuisine her but it is absolutely delicious. Reminds me of my friends Moms cooking - growing up in DC . I'm looking forward to going to the market again to get a platter. They also had pre-prepared cold containers of falafel, tabouule and other dishes to go. The restaurant people were so friendly. Please come back to the market. I will come to your restaurant too.

Lamb curry, hummus and pita , basmati rice, grilled tomato.

Unsure why the few mediocre reviews for Aria exist . I will attribute those reviews to the entitled and sometimes affluent nature of most of those who go to the college. Aria is just off the main drag and its next to the Co-op food store. If you are here looking for a downtown, 5 star (Stephen comes to mind) type of experience you've come to the wrong place. And Yea, they could improve the decor but then the price would go up ! You enter through an area that can be crowded because of the large takeout business they have. Once you are seated the food can't be beat and it is super cheap for not only Mediterranean but for this area- Swarthmore. Last night I was served pita and fresh hummus before my entree of Lamb curry which came with a side of Taboula. All for $9.99. There was enough to take home for a second meal . This is the 4th or 5th time I've been there and I can say the service is good, the food good and cheap . I've never had a bad meal here.

Mixed kabob platter. Chicken, lamb, beef

Excellent customer service! Beyond excellent food! We made a special order to try a few different kabobs and they all will be ordered again. Flavorful, fresh, and more than enough for two people. Both the corn salad and cucumber salad that came on the side were also delicious by themselves. They're understaffed but that didn't hold them back from perfection! Will eagerly be ordering from them again in the very near future!

if i am being honest 3.5 stars would be better…read more now let's start with the good part. the gyro is delicious! I went out of my way to come here for lunch after i saw a facebook post from the cheese steak adventures's guy pop up! it was from a while ago but i figured if he liked it... why not? the pita is really good. chewy. warm and moist. i got the classic (more to come) which is basically a gyro with the fixin's. lamb and fries tzsatiki. perfect. now let's move on to the staff and the restaurant overall. there are so many things wrong. the website will not let you honor several of the lunch specials. if you click on certain links they're no good. dont try to use them, since you will get to the restaurant and they will charge you for whatever the order would have been. i mean i want to save two bucks like everyone else. next, i'm going to agree with the many other reviews... why in the world can you NOT get sauce on the side if you pay for it? do they not have any lil cups?! i looked around this place is pretty cut and dry. i know it sounds like BS but i think they dont have those lil tiny cups. ...then there is the staff. i want so badly for them to hire the 'local lady who answers the phone'. they need it in the worst way. the guy who picks up is as fun as paint drying. it's a huge turn off for folks who know the food is good but the staff is not. will i be back... ?you damn right. but i am going to avoid a bunch of things from the jump: i'm only ordering online, if there is an upsell for sides and they do not have them i will just ask for my money back. they use toast for their ordering system and they will honor refunds if need be, and park around back. they have 2 spaces, the staff is using them too! i really hope things turn around in this location. they are not in philly anymore. it's the 'burbs baby!

The manager himself acted like…read moreit's too hard to go to the back of the store(which is how he put it) and fill in a very small amount of feta spread in a mini cup, even though I paid two extra dollars for it, like he was being inconvenienced . He also had to for whatever reason try and make a point that, if I got it on the side. He made sure I knew that he was only gonna do it this time. Like, whatever already. lol In the past, this was not an issue. Also, there's an option to get your fries on the side instead of in the pita and he literally gave three french fries in a bag separate. (granted, I'm not expecting obviously a whole bag of fries but come on.) Out of the past three or four times they've forgotten many things in my food and I haven't really said anything(because the employees were actually nice at the time, but not the owner tonight), and this is ridiculous now. Oh, and they got my appetizer wrong tonight. I asked for FETA Mini Phyllo Pies. They got it completely wrong and gave me spinach. If the manager/owner wasn't so rude then I wouldn't be so upset right now especially since I let them slide so many times.

Rib rolls: 4/5 The shredded short ribs could be a bit more moist and flavorful but pairs very well the horseradish aioli. Chicken Alfredo: 5/5 likely on the of the best Alfredo I have had. Grilled chicken was perfect not too dry and flavorful and the noodles cooked to perfection. The sauce was flavorful but not too heavy with cream like most places. Meat Lover Pizza: 4/5 Solid pizza! Our server apologized for a delay in taking our drink orders. She was attentive the rest of our meal. I ordered a Charles deGaulle whiskey cocktail. Lemon, aperol and simple syrup added a refreshing twist. For entrees, my wife ordered the pacherri; a simple pork ragu with tender broccoli rabe, Parmesan, stracciatello and basil. The dish was delicious. I enjoyed my plate of sea-inspired tonnarelli nero. Bay scallops in crab ragu with fennel sofrito. Served with squid ink pasta that imparted a slight brininess. The pasta was cooked pangrattato style-- coated in panko bread crumbs and garlic. The dish had many flavors but they all came back to the theme.
