Okay, first of all: this is a TAKEOUT place. I was nearby taking care of business and, based on other Yelp reviews, came here hoping for a sit-down lunch. Nope -- takeout only. Still, the options were so tantalizing that I ordered the chicken lule kebab and the beef combo with Zereshk Polo rice. Yes, I went all out. You really don't see this kind of Persian Barberry rice dish often. The lule kebab was divine, truly melt-in-your-mouth. The portion turned out to be huge, and I ended up taking it home and sharing with my husband. I usually don't eat much meat, but for a Persian BBQ treat, this is absolutely the place. I love that it's local and family-owned. The girl helping me was great - she walked me through the options and happily substituted the rice so I could try the rarer barberry rice. I'm shocked Arian doesn't have more reviews! This is my go-to place for Armenian BBQ for the past 5 years. I ordered ahead as I had a large order for Christmas Eve dinner. It was ready exactly on time and the ladies working were all so nice and sweet. The Beef Lule and Hot Chicken Breast are absolutely delicious. I really enjoy the rice with the saffron oil (even a small portion is huge!). Unfortunately, they were out this past visit, but the Yogurt Cucumber and Hummus are fresh and to die for. Way better than from the store. Though the parking lot is small, I have never had a problem getting a spot. The store itself is small, but that's perfect since it is all to-go orders. Very happy to be back!! I had a big craving for this spot and wanted to order food here for a great and satisfying meal for lunch. I called ahead and ordered from looking at their menu items online. I chose to order the "Lule and Chicken Lule Kabob Plate" which had beef and chicken. My go-to fav to add on to the plate was the Pork Ribs. It is always seasoned well and is flavorful. There is always one grilled tomato and one grilled pepper on top of the plate. The pepper is huge and the tomato is large as well. They are yummy to add onto the basmati rice, which are large and thick grains it seems. As I remember, the rice is still very plentiful and leaves me feeling stuffed with extra leftovers! We were 30 minutes out and the estimated time for it to be finished was around that time, so it was perfect to come by and pick it up. Delicious Mediterranean takeout!! We were able to pick up our order after calling ahead. The receipt was itemized so despite us ordering 3 combos, it was a longer receipt due to separating items like rice and meat. Thankfully the pricing is accurate and equals the $ amount of the plate you choose. I got the Beef Lule plate and the Pork Ribs, my favs! He told me how much food to order, and of course I ordered extra and he helped me pair it with some side dishes, that were excellent. Main complaints are that the red meat and lamb were overcooked, chicken shish kabob wasn't good quality meat (I was chewing something that felt like cartilage), and the chicken lule kabob was bland. The dips also weren't seasoned to our liking (hummus too bland, ikra too spicy). On top of that, we left without being given our full order, and didn't realize it until we unpacked the bags at home, so we had to rush back right before they closed. My sister called in our family gathering order in advance for my nephew's Christening. Not only was the food not ready when we arrived, my brother waited 40 minutes and had to leave the restaurant as guests were arriving at his house. My niece ended up having to go back to the restaurant and still waited another 20 minutes. They had obviously forgotten about our order. Finally she picked up the food and brought it back. We sat down and started eating our dinner and none of the skewers of meat that we ordered had an ounce of seasoning, only red food coloring. Not one piece of meat was seasoned. This is on top of the order being hours late. Our sacred night was ruined because of their negligence. My sister didn't want to call the restaurant that same night while guests were still at their home and had to season and reheat everything herself instead. She called this morning and the person on the phone ended up being the rudest unapologetic a***** b****** on the planet. Instead of offering her a refund on a paltry $200 order and apologizing for the horrible experience, he had the arrogance to ask for proof (photo of the meat attached) and even with that photo kept denying what my sister was saying was true.
