They encourage you to order ahead, and their website is straightforward and easy to use. You don't have to order ahead, but know they might sell out of your pie. First visit was to sample pies for a birthday celebration. I got the marionberry, salted caramel (GF) and raspberry dream. On the second trip for the actual birthday pie, I picked the salted caramel b/c the group is a chocolate crowd. Third time, just wanted pie! Also sampled the cutie pies in the jar... I don't think the mini pie made it home lol. Today (#4 visit) I was craving the raspberry dream and wanted to try the apple pie. My current ranking of pie I've tried is: 1. Raspberry dream, 2. salted caramel, 3. White chocolate raspberry (cutie pie), 4. marionberry (nicely tart, full of berries but a bit dry, went well with ice cream), 5. whiskey peach (too much crust, not enough peach, not very peachy). The shop has some seating but I only saw one group seated once. I always took my pies home to enjoy. There is plenty of street parking (metered, 15 min free), and here is a parking structure around the back of the block (2 hours free).

The Lemon Lavender Pie was a little too subtle on lavender. The Key Lime Pie lacked that tart, tangy punch. Unfortunately, the overall flavors felt a bit underwhelming, especially considering the price point and relatively small slice sizes. On the positive side, the service was friendly, and the shop had a cozy atmosphere with board games available for customers to enjoy. Seating inside is limited, and parking can be a bit of a challenge.

Nonna Mercato holds a special place in our hearts. They are like members of the family at this…read morepoint because we are there every week reliably. At least a few times. Nonna has become our go to bakery, our sweet retreat, and one of our favorite local brunch spots. Now, they even have happy hour and, during the summer, dinner (Nonna Summer Nights)! And all of the food is amazing. Seriously, truly legit! We buy bread from there each week. No more "big box store" bread you freeze. They make their bread fresh daily. They only use fresh, locally sourced ingredients with no preservatives. It's nice to look at an ingredient list and not see a paragraph for bread (and be able to pronounce all the names!). And their cupcakes and sweets. Yo, seriously so good. And the thing is, because of the ingredients they use, we don't feel heavy or overly wired after eating cake or cupcakes from them. From other places you can tell they use preservatives, refined sugars, processed ingredients. But with Nonna, you can just taste the difference. We even had them make our special cake for our wedding! We recently tried their dinner (twice!) and it exceeded expectations. Now, mind you, all of their food has always been good but our experience was amazing. Their prix fixe menu was well put together, wine pairings on point, dessert was also delicious. Our favorite was the tiramisu! Also loved the spaghattini and casarecce pastas, and entrecôte di manzo, but everything was great. Their brunch is also great, you really can't go wrong on the menu. And I think we've gone through almost all of it! Finally, (if you've stayed with me this long!) the absolute best thing about Nonna for us is the TEAM. Hands down no question. The food is good, space is a comfortable neighborhood vibe, and all that. But truly the folks here are amazing humans. Always friendly, warm, and welcoming. If the management team is reading this, you all have a great group of people there! We will definitely be back (again and again and again) and you should too!

Located in the quaint Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach, street parking was plentiful right outside the restaurant. We came around noon on Saturday, and thankfully despite their busy brunch rush we were seated immediately. Even though all of their seating is outdoors, tables are shaded by overhanging canopy and just added to the cute southern Italian bistro vibes of the place. The menu had a solid selection of both brunch and lunch items - I loved the Burrata di Campagna, which was flavorful with just the right amount of tart from the heirloom tomatoes. For my main meal I had to go with the Casarecce - one of their pastas that's made fresh in house daily. The braided pasta was wonderfully textured and soaked up all the pesto sauce without being overly oily, a perfect meal for a hot summer day. We finished our meal with a Nutella Croissant, from their artisan bakery that also makes their bread fresh every day. Perhaps I am a little biased, but the laminated dough was perfectly light and flaky, encasing a very generous filling of hazelnut chocolate cream. Our check at the end of the meal even came with a custom drawn postcard by one of the Nonna Mercato service staff - another present to add on to what was already a gift of a meal!

Their desserts were just as impressive, beautifully presented and perfect if you're craving something sweet after a meal. The pahlava was amazing, fresh, flaky, and perfectly sweet with great flavor. Finding a parking spot will be difficult. Ambiance/Environment: Located on 2nd St. The exterior is very eye catching. The interior is extremely cute with pink and floral decor everywhere. They have a small space with very limited indoor seating. My friend and I visited on a Friday afternoon, and it wasn't too busy. Service: We were greeted immediately when we entered. The worker that assisted us was very courteous and knowledgeable about the menu items. He even recommended us his favorites and their most popular items. Desserts: We decided to only try the Turkish Delights. We tried some samples of their Turkish ice cream and really liked it, so we'll have to visit again. Turkish Delights are soft and chewy with a gel-based made from starch and sugar. The flavors we tried were really delicious; some more sweet than other's. The texture is definitely soft and a bit chewy. We tried a couple different flavors. The Rose Petals are very floral and balanced well with the chocolate. The Cinnamon is buttery and sweeter. 1) Cinnamon (milk and hazelnut butter) 2) Rose Petals (pomegranate, pistachio, rose, cacao butter) Pricing: They charge by weight (lbs) for the Turkish Delights. You don't have to order a whole roll. You can request for a single cut. It'd be a good opportunity to try more than one Delight.

Each one is packed with flavor, making you wish you had ordered a dozen instead of just one or two. Given their size, I'd recommend two donuts per person. With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, it's also a great spot to work remotely or catch up on emails. Also make sure to check out their cute merch items when you're waiting on your order!

What made them different is they used taro flour and cooked them in coconut oil. Some of their flavors were tropical. Now I can write about how the oil smell emanating from the store made me nauseous whenever I passed by during business hours. It's weird because I didn't think bad of the donuts themselves and could stand to eat them. I will say after having them on two prior occasions, they made an impression on me when they participated in the yearly Belmont Shore chocolate festival. They offered a freshly chocolate glazed donut. It was so delicious having it fresh as opposed to letting it sit and have later. Thanks for the memories! I won't forget you, Holey Grail!
