Would definitely recommend visiting! Everything was flavorful and the service was great. I especially loved the scallop set with uni and the fried crab

Overall: 3/5 Food: 4/5 - We got the soft shell crab, dolsot al bap, and fish stew and everything was good but nothing that was that impressive, given the high expectation and praise this restaurant constantly gets. My sister and I both liked the albap the most and while that dish was unique, the fish stew tasted like any other fish stew one could get from a food court and did not have much fish/veggies. Value: 2/5 - The total was around $100 (including tip) for 3 dishes and I did not think the value was really there for the quality of the dishes or the experience. Service: Standard service - nothing to note. Overall, I had high expectations for this place due to the constant high praise, but I thought this place was pretty disappointing especially for the price. I don't think I would come back or recommend as the taste was pretty average for the pricepoint.

If you're a scallop lover you'll love this spot! Ariari is a Korean seafood joint from Hand Hospitality with super fresh and delicious scallops in the form of their famous scallop gimbap plate. The raw dishes (tartare, seasonal hwe, and ofc scallops) are always fresh and delicious, and the fried soft shell crab is also a standout. The uni cream bibimbap served in a hot stone bowl also can't be missed! Service is always great, friendly and efficient staff. Space itself is lively but on the smaller side though so make a reservation if you can, they're basically full every single night!

It's best to have a reservation for this place, especially for dinner time since it does get pretty busy and the space is small. I've been wanting to try the DIY Scallop Gimbap and it was pretty good, scallop was fresh and seaweed was crispy, but it wasn't crazy amazing to me. The pork and the seafood udon were also really good too, but since it is on the pricier side, I would only come once in a while!

FINALLY GOT TO GO!!! all hits, no misses, and the portions were surprisingly massive. it was super seafood-forward, but everything tasted so fresh. this literally might be the best squid iv ever had. it was sooo soft and that richness and slight char from the butter really emphasized its freshness without over powering it. and also the mushrooms were surprisingly gas, we were fighting for the last pieces. the dolsot al bap was small in quantity but mighty in flavor. its soo rich and sea-forward with the uni cream and flying fish roe, but the bits of green pepper really cut through the richness and make it an addicting bite. only complaint is why did our uni cream look so deflated ,,, anyways. the duck bulgogi was a bit heavy on the sauce, but i still enjoyed it nonetheless. i like how everything is a classic with a twist, definitely makes the experience worth it in and of itself. however, their menu is quite limited, so i don't know how many times i'll be running this. once you get your foot in the door, the service is quite fast, but the only banchan they give you is fresh kimchi (but its refillable!!!)

If you get one dish here it should 10000% be the dolsot al bap. After the first bite, my friend and I both immediately said was one of the best dishes of any restaurant we've been to. Perfectly light combo of sea urchin cream & scorched rice. Unexpectedly delicious and packed with the perfect balance of flavors. Scallop diy gimbap was also very fresh and delicious (first time trying apple kimchi - so good). I had raw seafood for several consecutive meals before this so maybe that's why it didn't stand out as much lol but still yummy. Fried soft shell crab was good, but we definitely overordered for how full we already were, so looking back I would've skipped the crab and been perfectly satisfied.

Amazing food here and would highly recommend. Everything was so good. Definitely need a reservation. Super cute interior.

The food at Ariari was decent, but there wasn't anything really amazing. My favorite dish was the busan caesar salad. The crunchy rice was the best part. The fried-eel was also pretty good. The sauce was salty and spicy, so I found myself adding it to all the other dishes.

    Alisa J.

Absolutely loved the food and service here. My friend and I have a multitude of allergies (shellfish and nuts) and the server and kitchen were very thorough and safe about it. There was only a limited number of dishes we could eat but they were delicious. The lotus salad was flavorful and very fresh. It may have been a bit overdressed but I loved it. The duck bulgogi was so delicious. Never had duck bulgogi and I think it's my new favorite bulgogi. It was cooked very well and was super flavorful. The ginger bingsoo was also super delicious and not too sweet. Would definitely recommend this Korean restaurant and even with the limited menu due to allergies I would definitely return. They do honor the 90 minutes dining reservation and did get kicked out because the next table was here. Not a huge deal but possibly could feel rushed.

Made a reservation for Ariari at 5pm on Saturday. It's a bit of a small space, tables are close together, and filled up pretty quickly. The waiter came over quickly, and was thorough in explaining everything on the menu. We ordered: Yook-Hwe ($19) - beef tartare mixed with gochujang, blanched baby octopus, Korean pepper, cilantro, and a side of gim. There were a lot of textures and flavors going on when you ate everything in one bite. I would have preferred there to be more actual beef tartare, but my friend enjoyed it. Dolsot-Al-Bap with Uni ($20+$18) - hot stone bibimbap with flying fish roe, shellfish paste, sea urchin cream, and a side of uni. This was my favorite dish that we ordered. It was so flavorful. If you let the rice sit for a bit, you can enjoy a bit of a crisp. Crab Bibim-Myeon ($33) - Korean glass noodles, doenjang, crabmeat, shrimp, tobiko, zucchini. We had the impression that it was supposed to be cold when I ordered it, but it's a hot dish. We were not the biggest fan of this dish, though the presentation is nice. There are 2 unisex bathrooms in the back.

Really really cute and simple interior. All the workers were consistently hospitable. The egg rice is really yummy. I love how they added a variety of textured crispies so that you get a very satisfying chew. The crab noodle looks amazing, but I do think it had too heavy of a seafood flavor. I wish there were other strong notes to balance it out. The complementary kimchi is really spicy as well--but really good!

Outstanding service and food. Everything I ordered was wonderful. The salad was fresh and crunchy, the yukhwe was also fresh and the sauces were delicious the texture was nice and worth it, dollop was one of the best things Ive ever ate it was creamy and flavorful and I look forward to getting it again and the bossom was tender and the veggies went perfectly. I also got the bread pudding which was sweet and warm loved the ice cream on top. The service was out of this world everyone was super friendly gave detailed explanations of the items and I even recieved a dessert and drink and I was very impressed. I have had service that wonderful in so long it was a wonderful experience. I understand the hype and well deserved.

The star of the show was the oyster mushroom tacos. By far the best single bite or dish of food. The flavor profile is so robust, with different textures, it was a true delight. I highly recommend their black sesame bread pooding as well. The bread pooding was so gooey, and crispy and melted, it was the perfect balance of sweetness, and paired amazingly with the cold ice cream. Highly recommend if you are interested in a true fine dinning experience.

A Bright Spot in the Heart of NYC…read more After a long work day in New York City, discovering Debajo was exactly what I needed. The dusky, inviting atmosphere, chill music, and intimate vibe immediately made it feel like a little escape from the energy of the bustling NYC nightlife. And then there was Bernadette, my server, who deserves a special shout-out. She was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive without being overbearing, and genuinely brightened my day. Sometimes excellent service is more than simply getting the order right, it's a little bit of encouragement and warmth someone can bring with their authenticity. The food was fantastic. The Patatas Bravas arrived piping hot with an irresistibly crispy exterior. The smoky paprika was bursting with flavor and brought just the right amount of spicy heat, while the creamy garlic aioli rounded everything out beautifully. The Jamón Ibérico Croquetas were another highlight: crispy panko breading encasing a creamy, savory ham interior. The black garlic aioli added another layer of flavor, while the candied lemon peel gave the dish a wonderful burst of freshness. The Pineapple-A-Go-Go, was bright, refreshing, and perfect for keeping my palate fresh between bites. There's something special about a restaurant that gets the food, atmosphere, and hospitality right--and Debajo checks all these boxes. Great food, chill vibes, a beautiful atmosphere, and exceptional service. And Bernadette, thank you again for being such an encouragement and for turning the end of a very long work day into something genuinely enjoyable. You made my evening!

There's a covered "outdoor" section with lots of natural light, and the inside is spacious and modern, with a semi-open kitchen that makes it feel like you're in a place twice its size. The tapas we tried were great. Patatas bravas were crispy on the outside, with a fluffy inside, and maybe a touch too much salt. The hamachi crudo was excellent, with a unique coconut and mango sauce that gave it a touch of sweet to go with the zest. And the pulpo was great, the octopus was well prepared and the sauce was hearty without dominating the taste. The half chicken was the most memorable dish; our server recommended it, and it's clear why. It was unbelievably juicy and tender, with plenty of lemon flavor in every bite. Lots of meat, don't expect a small plate like the other menu items! All in all a good experience in a nice atmosphere, definitely staying on the list for tapas in the future.

The day of the dinner, they seated us in a semi-private room that had a full view into the kitchen, which was such a fun touch. My team loved watching the action behind the scenes -- it added a really cool energy to the evening. The service throughout the night was prompt and friendly, and the food? Absolutely delicious.
