    English breakfast tea
    Hope L.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and ordered an English breakfast tea. It was $3.50 and I was honestly pretty disappointed as it was literally just a tea bag and hot water. They didn't put any milk or sugar in it and didn't even offer it. The tea was way too hot to drink and I had to wait 15 minutes before I could sip it. When I was finally able to drink it, it was lacking so much flavor and was super bland. I ended up taking 5 sips of it and throwing it in the trash. Super disappointed as it was expensive and not worth it.

    Salmon Power Bowl

Local Montclair sandwich & salad cafe. Came here after my usual nail appt because I'm starving. Decided to go for the healthy option and got the salmon power bowl. Removing a star because the salmon was delicious but for $21 I feel like the size of the salmon was a smidge too small for what you pay for. The amount of avocado was also pretty paltry. The rest of the bowl was generous with the super thin slices of cucumber, cauliflower rice, edamame, and slices of fennel, red cabbage, and onion were plentiful. It's nice they have individually wrapped compostable utensils and tapatio packets for those that like more spice in their food. The Rishi tea packet selection was also impressive, as was their pastry and cookie selection. Their to go fridge has a good collection of grab and go items. Will come back to try the Asian Salad and their chicken salad sandwich.

    Iced Matcha latte

I was in Oakland and wanted to get a matcha since I'm not a coffee drinker and saw this place appear and had. Finding the place wasn't too hard since the door is literally the name of the shop, a Yellow Door! It was made it very unique and it was nice and clean inside. They offered a variety of drinks and food. I really wanted to like my drink due but I have to say it was probably the worst matcha latte I ever had. I saw the barista prepare the drink and noticed he used a lot of milk, which watered the whole drink and I did not taste a hint of matcha. I would not come back for the matcha but may be open to check out the food options in the future if I'm back in the area.

Ambiance: Cute inviting locale in the Montclair Village that has both cafe style seating to have a coffee date with a friend and high bar stools with marble desks and nice accents that makes it feel very homey inside. The big windows and sunroof allow for natural light to illuminate the space which is a great change of pace if you're stuck inside all day. You'll be tempted by all the pastries and to go options behind the glass displays that it'll perk up your hunger just standing in line. Service: this place is very popular and you'll most likely see a line but it moved quickly. The workers are welcoming and work very quickly. Food came out after about 5-10 minutes after ordering. They forgot to add in the lentils and quinoa to this for my plate so that sucks. Food: Special Bowl: (4/5) Off-menu item that is a good mix of arugula, butternut squash, pita chips, and hummus. The pita chips provide a much needed crunch to this otherwise soft food dish. The butternut squash will add some carbs while you'll get half your daily need of greens from the arugula. I heard you can dress this up with hot sauce and while I didn't do this I agree it could use something to liven it up a bit. I didn't get to try it with the quinoa or lentils but otherwise a good option to try, I would prefer to try other things though. Breakfast sandwich: (4/5) eggs, sausage, cheese, English muffin. Nothing fancy here but what separates this above others is the smoky romesco sauce. Almost like a tapatio but a little more smoke to it really makes it special. They toast the bread nicely so you get a crunch texture to the muffin without burning it. Would certainly get it again.

Chicken Buddha bowl, salmon Buddha bowl, iced latte with vanilla, chai latte

Came here to fuel up after a workout. The salad was good. I liked the salad dressing and the mix of toppings. Iced latte was also good. We got the coconut brown butter cookies as well and it was good! And I normally don't like dried coconut but it worked well with the cookie.

    Amazingly tasty chicken salad sandwich

It's a surprise every day, which pizza they'll make, but it's guaranteed to always be good. The quality of the ingredients is top notch, the kind you can just taste. Even their salads, soups, and baked goods are delicious, it tastes like a quality bakery, for a place that's known for great pizza. This is definitely an if you know, you know spot, the kind you'll come back to for years on end for its consistency, its flavor, its heart. In total, we paid $7.50, which was not bad at all! The space is spacious inside with an ample parking lot, but I would say this is more of a grab-and-go place; there is some outdoor seating. We got a pizza with tomato, olive oil, feta, and olives. The service was quick, straightforward, and we were able to get our slices within 5 minutes and it came out hot which was great! The pizza itself is on the thinner side and has a good ratio of dough to cheese. The crust/base was chewy and light and did in fact, taste healthy (in a good way)! Do I think this place is somewhere you must go to try out? Honestly, no, it is a good value pizza that tastes delicious, but I would say to only stop in if you are around the area.

I didn't give myself any expectations because sometimes food that are trending are overhyped. But these desserts were really good, even the flavors I typically do not prefer. The prices are pretty up there - our order was roughly $110. Was it worth it? Yes. Would I get them again? Only on special occasions. The flavors we got are below (ranked from my personal fave to least fave): 1. Pistachio - I'm probably biased towards this since I always like anything pistachio flavored. 2. Strawberry - A little tart, sweet, and the shell is just so good. 3. Mango - If you're a mango lover, this might be your favorite. I typically do not get mango-flavored desserts, but this one was good. For it to make it to my Top 3 says a lot. 4. Raspberry - I forgot why but I remember liking this lol. 5. Avocado - This one was shocking. I do not like anything avocado-flavored. I was hesitant on trying this but it was actually delicious. Very mellow and creamy. 6. Blueberry - For blueberry fans, this might not be for you. I do not like blueberries but this one was edible enough for me because the blueberry taste was not that strong. 7. Pomegranate - This was pretty bland. It made me think what pomegranate really tasted like because I couldn't really remember from this dessert. 8. Lemon - Most disappointing. There was something odd about its tartness. Not your typical lemon-flavored items. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. You can see the staff work on the dessert behind the counter. The staff assisting us was very patient because we were very indecisive on what to get, but we ultimately got one of everything. I want to emphasize that none of the desserts are bad. My ranking is just based on personal faves and I'm pretty picky. Highly recommend!
