This company just did a complicated move involving shuffling furniture between 3 family members. I was so stressed about it but as they left their first stop at my brother's, he called me and said that they were wonderful. The same thing happened as they left my daughter's and headed to my house. They were professional, polite, hard working and so careful with our old furniture. So the second time was NOT as good as the first with this company they were HORRIBLE! The crew showed up a half hour late. The guys stood around and talked on the phone and stood around talking to each other not fast movers AT ALL. Most of my things were still shrink wrapped from the previous crew 2 months ago so all they had to do was move my wrapped boxed stuff to my new apartment from my storage unit and it took them 2 1/2 hours longer than the first crew that took it all apart and wrapped it. The furniture I did have that was taken down and set up by the first crew was just picked up from where I was staying was and just moved, they didn't bother to take it apart so my table was scratched. They left shrink wrap on a bunch of my stuff so we had to go through and remove it all, they took some pictures from my storage but left others, so we had to go back and get the rest of them. They broke the leg off my $1000 armoire and said oh this was broken ahh no it wasn't you guys just moved it here 2 months ago. I told them I'd take my vacuum and they insisted no we'll move it...they broke it another $200 so I called to complain and was told they'd call me back...still waiting...they never did but they charged my credit card right away $534.00 bucks!!!! REF: Transaction Dispute ARIZONA DISCOUNT MOVERS CITI I have attached the faxed information sent to me from Arizona Discount Movers. Their Credit Card Authorization Form is basically an Open Ended Contract. Meaning they could put any number in there they wanted to. To protect myself I placed the $700 limit at the paragraph starting with "Services". The $700 was the known estimate at the time. I received no call from Arizona Discount Movers asking permission to charge my account $1505. NONE!! Arizona Discount Movers took it upon themselves to participate in Credit Card Fraud. When I contacted Arizona Discount Movers informed them of the fax stated $700 limit they no longer wanted to talk to me. I have requested from my cousin the sales receipt and original estimate. I will mail to you ASAP. I understand estimates can go higher than stated but as Arizona Discount Movers stated to me, "they have been in business for over 35 years" If that is true then a estimate that has been doubled is totally unacceptable from a "professional company" that has been in business for over 35 years. This is a perfect example of credit card fraud and taking advantage of seniors on a fixed income. They should be ashamed. First off, i would be giving this one star if it werent for the guys who did the moving for us. They were nice and worked hard and fast in extreme heat! But, they only had furniture to move and nothing else. They had to take a bunch of stuff apart, and they probably left with every screw and bolt in their pockets- or hid them where we cant find them. Also furniture was damaged, walls were damaged, and a brand new appliance (dryer) was dented. We called and they were going to send us a form to fill out to report the damage, but that hasnt happened yet. We wouldnt recomend them. Update: first- thank you for the reply, this is "the daughter" who wrote the review. I only wrote the review after my mom said that the form was supposed to be sent but she hadnt recieved it. We did not find (only one set of screws for the dresser) until yesterday after you said the guys left them on the window seal- only after that was said dis we assume that the landlord must have found them and tossed them. That does not include screws and bolts for the refrigerator handle, or the desk that was taken apart at the new house. I am sorry for any miscommunication as far as the form being recieved or not. If I could grade a 0 I would! If you can find someone else, please do so! We had to move to temp housing while house was being remodeled. Had them disassemble desk to put into storage, they damaged the support legs while taking in apart to the point it ripped out the wood and cannot be assembled. The lead guy stated someone would be out next day to fix it, never happened. Called office said needed to fill out claim forms, did so and faxed to them along with a mailed copy, no response. Called office a week later said they were going to call us, they needed to talk to crew and would get back to us. Waited another week, no response, called again same answer had not talked to everyone. Waited another week, no response, called again and said was still trying to talk to lead guy. This went on for 5 weeks. Finally today was told since the underlying material is particle board that even though they caused damage all we would get is 60 cents per pound, or $15, for damage to to a $2700 desk system that now has no supports legs and is unusable. Paid over $2500 for moving and storage. People doing moving were nice but slow, like they wanted to fill up their days and make more money. I used this company one time and for the last time! There were supposed to be 3 movers, only 2 showed up. However after reading some of these reviews, it appears to be part of their scam to offer people 3 movers and then have only 2 show up. They quoted me $400+ and after all was said and they dragged out the job twice as long as they quoted and I ended up paying double what I was quoted. I never even bothered to call and complain given how shoddy everything was as I knew I would just end up wasting my time. I will NEVER refer this company to anyone. Use Camelback Movers instead! I usually avoid giving negative reviews, but unfortunately Arizona Discount Movers has had plenty of time to make this right, but has chosen not to. I used ADM to move from Lake Havasu to east valley Phoenix on June 24th and they did a decent job. They were mostly on time, and loaded everything fairly quickly. Unfortunately, once at my destination, they set my pool table on a snall furniture dolly on its side , breaking the side panel, the side rail, and cracking the slate...basically completely destroying the table. The movers took note of it, wrote it on my receipt, and a day later I received an email with the claim form. July 1st, I sent a detailed email with the claim form, and pictures of the damage. A month later I sent an email inquiring about the status of my claim...no response. A week after that I called and someone in the office took my number, and said they would call me back. That was last week, and I haven't heard from them. I would avoid this company unless you have no other alternative. UPDATE: I find it interesting that after filing my claim, I had no response to calls and emails until after I posted my negative review. After giving ADM 2 stars, they were very quick to want to get the matter resolved, or so it appeared. Due to my poor cell reception, I emailed Jay asking if we could continue the claims process via email. I got an affirmative response, and no contact since, until today. I have since replaced my pool table. This issue should not have taken months to resolve, especially since they have had the claims forms since July 1st. Updating review to 1/5 stars. read more

Very nice men who moved me but they took 6.5 hours to move me from a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment to another slightly smaller apartment. There were stairs at both places as there always have been, but no travel time as I moved right across the street. Jay later removed a 30 minute charge when I called to complain. The wardrobe boxes were the last to come off of the truck so they were paid to wait while I unloaded the 8 boxes. I gave them a glass desk and they accidentally left with one of the glass doors to my tv stand. I called and they came back but one of the glass doors was not put back on correctly. Instead of calling back again, I made the mistake of just living with the left door being hard to open. Last night the door shattered and almost exploded and glass got everywhere. I called Jay and he said his hands were tied and there was nothing he could do. I told him I understood but that with the issues at hand I would not be using their services again and I would not recommend them. Discount movers? Not at all! They say one thing, and then they do another. I had a pretty much NIGHTMARE of a moving experience by selecting AZ Discount Movers. After reading online reviews, I thought this seemed like a good company to choose...NOT AT ALL!!! I was between this company and Joe's Smooth Move. My friend used Joe's and loved it, but the lower rate and good reviews (maybe bad reviews don't get up here?) made me select AZ Discount Movers. Let's go over the positives first - short list - I eventually received my belongings. Okay - the negatives -- they were supposed to show up between 4-5pm and arrived at 5:30pm, and due to them being late I could not move in because of my HOA rules. The company owner, John, was not helpful at all. I had to agree to pay for an hour MORE than it would take just to be able to get my stuff the next day. What BS! On top of that, I was quoted a $60 one-time service fee (and still have that post-it note in my office with all the rates) and I ended up with a $80 fee...ripped off!!! And lastly...there was little to no care taken in moving my items. "Discount movers" must mean hurry up at all costs and get to the next move. When I pointed out scratches on my headboard, I ended up later seeing marker over the scratches they made. I have original (expensive) art and I was assured it would be wrapped...nope - never happened, even after I asked. So far, I've noticed damage on 5 items...and I'm still in the unpacking and organizing stage. When I finish my unpacking process, I doubt a phone call to John the owner would even be worth it...you think a small business would want happy customers, but he was anything but accommodating. They will NEVER be getting my business or recommendation...I suggest you go with Joe's Smooth Move instead too. The maybe $50-100 extra it will cost will be worth it when your art, picture frames, wood furniture, and more arrive intact. read more

Terrible experience. They didn't send a large enough truck, which gives them an out for charging more for a second truck. They train their men to have their paperwork initialed or signed before they even start, which you'll later find out could be a problem for you. You shouldn't have to sign any releases,but their lead guy requires it, or they don't start. They know they have you held hostage,because you need to move,and usually under a lot of stress to get out on schedule,and it is hard to find another mover on short notice. Then they couldn't return on schedule,and charged extra for extra men late into the evening, and they were wore out, tired,complaining the whole time. There is so much more to complain about this company! Then the damaged furniture shows up,which they promised was covered by their insurance,and they lie and cheat their way out of submitting a claim to their insurance. They want to pay us off with a stiple $90.00.... They over charged the move by several hundred dollars, but threaten to keep racking up daily storage fees, if not paid. If we could give zero stars we would. The move was over three months ago, delivery date of 8/19/16, and there has still been no resolution. Our contact has been Jay who is very kind and apologetic in acknowledging all the damage on the phone but nothing he promised has been done. Our numerous phone calls and emails were not returned (but one time) During the move, a pot was broken as shards were strewn along the driveway. We asked where the pot was and after 15 minutes of "I don't know" and blank faces, we found it buried under a pile of shrink wrap on the side of the residence. When we confronted them with this, one of the men said, and I quote, "that's why we don't move pots." Not true as the original paperwork said they'd be moving potted plants. We'll let you come to your own conclusions. A hutch was later discovered with a gauge in it, but the worst damage was to the solid oak bed that they dissassembled and reassembled. After they left we saw light streaming through the left side vertically between the dresser and left side mirror. As all these pieces are meant to be attached, obviously with no gaps, we were horrified at what we found. The assembler created this gap because he DIDN'T ATTACH ALL FIVE SCREWS TO EACH SIDE TO HOLD THE TWO DRESSERS TO THE BED AND HEADBOARD, HE ONLY ATTACHED TWO ON EACH SIDE! (SIX MISSING SCREWS TOTAL) He ALSO STRIPPED ALL THE SCREWS HE DID USE, AND EVEN DROVE ONE OF THE SCREWS THROUGH THE TOP OF THE DRESSER CREATING A HORRIBLE HOLE IN THE WOOD. We don't even know what he did with the missing screws since they were all there at the beginning of the move. Because of the stripped screws, we spent three hours looking for replacement screws at Home Depot, Ace hardware, and even Pruitt's furniture Store. We also had to buy a stripped screw tool so we could remove the improperly attached and stripped screws. We are still trying to locate these specialty furniture screws. If he hadn't stripped them, we would at least have not had to spend all this time on this and more time until we locate them. This beautiful bedroom set has withstood three moves with no assembly problems, no stripped screws, and no damage prior to this move. Until we can locate the proper screws, this bedroom set is damaged with the mirrors and top board missing since it is also a safety hazard if it is put together with 3/5 of the screws missing! We wrote in our claim dated 9/21/16 (we had to wait to receive the claim form from Jay after we spoke to him on 8/29/16, submit all the pictures and write a one page narrative) that we would give them the opportunity to make this right by reimbursing us for the broken pot, and for new screws and assembly and all our time trying to find the proper screws. Jay replied over a month ago that they would reimburse us for the broken pot, find the screws on the internet, and come back and put the bed together correctly, which wouldn't take long since he said it was their slow time because of the holidays. That was a month ago and follow up phone calls have not been returned. They could have at least sent a check for the broken pot as we sent them the price, but they did not. We did say on their "survey" that they did a good job, except for the broken/hidden pot, as we did not know about the damage to the hutch and bed yet. We even tipped the crew since we didn't know which of the four broke the pot. We also felt extremely intimidated since they would only allow us to fill it out while the entire crew was standing there in our house staring at us with the survey. We asked if we could fill it out at a later time (when they wouldn't be watching us and we could be completely honest) but we were told no. They have had plenty of time to make this right like Jay said they would. We are hoping this review will spur them to repair/replace/reimburse all the items they damaged like Jay promised us they would months ago. read more

I really was hoping to give these guys 5 stars. Guys showed up 45 min late to pack my trucks, not too big of a deal and they worked hard. Loved the guys. Then when it came to unloading 2 days later, they called 45 min late said they were on their way. I already had a bunch of my friends unloading & told them not to show up. Move from 2 BR Condo to 4 BR House a mile apart 10.5 hrs. In fairness, they had to do quite a bit of packing of loose clothes. My issue is with Jay. I called him to have an issue addressed about the movers being 11/2 hrs late. I was promised called back. I had to keep calling. It happened again when we reported that the movers had broken our bed. I'm not angry I just want it taken care of. I'm told on a Monday I'd get a claim form emailed right away as well as a visit from the crew. It is Wednesday nothing has been emailed. I used AZ Discount Movers today to move the furniture in my very small apartment. I am a single 20 some that lives alone and rather than have to ask my friends to help, I decided to hire movers. The pricing was reasonable and the customer service staff who gave me my quote and who called to confirm my move were polite and professional. Unfortunately, one of the movers who came to my home was not polite or professional and I felt intimidated and nervous being a woman with three men in my home one of whom acted inappropriately. I was upset enough that after the move was completed (very quickly and efficiently and under time) and I had thanked and tipped the other two movers, I called to speak with the company in hopes that the next woman would not have that same experience. I spoke with Jay who happened to be the GM and he not only listened to my feedback but was kind and apologetic. I got off the phone and felt relieved and satisfied and went to continue moving the rest of my belongings. Jay actually called back 15 mins later to tell me he had spoken with Amy, the owner and told her my experience and that she as a woman understood completely and assured me that was not how they do business. They went out of their way to make it right and to extend excellent customer service. While the initial experience wasn't as positive as I would have liked, the move was done quickly, the price was fair, and the GM and owner went above and beyond and I would call this company again for my next move. read more

This company is totally amazing! I interviewed 5 different moving companies a month prior to my move on April 27, 2017. Jay from this company came out personally to walk through my house with me to assess how large or complicated the move would be and to give me an amount to work with. I told him one of the most important issues for me was for the workers to take apart the beds and then be able to put them back together in my new home. He assured me his workers were the best and I would be pleased with their work and integrity. I was very favorably impressed with Jay and let him know I would get back to him. He emailed me a price of $1,577 with a deposit of $157 and the balance of $1,420 to be paid 1/2 at the time of arrival and the other 1/2 when the merchandise was unloaded at the other end. As I indicated, I received a total of 5 bids - some were as low as $995 and the highest being $2,350. A week before my close of escrow, I called and confirmed the arrangement with Jay. He agreed to have 3 men on the moving crew and they would arrive at 7am on the morning of the 27th of April. I gave him a payment over the phone for the $157 and he told me he would call me a couple of days prior to the 27th to reconfirm the date and time. When I didn't hear from him, I called down to the company to find out what was going on. I was told he wasn't working that day but they would call him at home to see what the arrangements were. I received a call back from Jay telling me he had been sick when he made the arrangements with me and took my $157. He said he was so sick he went home without booking my move. He said they were all booked up now and would I please move my move to May 3rd. I told him he I had to be out of my condo and turn it over to the landlord on the 27th. He said he would see what he could do. He called me back in a 1/2 hour or so and said they were able to clear the 27th and his crew would be there at 7am. The day of the move - April 27th, the crew arrived at 7:45 and worked until 12:45pm loading the truck. they were very efficient and I was pleased with their performance. Then, enters Dr. Jeckle, Mr. Hyde. I told the crew I had to take my brother Archie to a motel because he didn't have approval from the state to move with me to Pinal County yet. It took me a little longer than I expected so didn't arrive at my new home until 4:45pm. Meanwhile, I didn't have a key to let the crew into the house so I called my real estate agent and asked her to meet them at the house and let them in. My agent said she went over to the house the moving truck was parked in front of the house. She had another commitment so she hung the house key inside the shed at the end of the driveway. When I arrived, there was NO KEY! The key mysteriously disappeared. I went through the shed, the driver of the moving truck pretended to look for the key. The real estate agent sent her husband over to help me. He checked the shed too to no avail. The crew intimated that someone came and stole the key while they were sitting in the truck out front. There is almost NO traffic in Mammoth, especially on Hollywood and Rolfs streets. I said I would break a window to let them in but the driver of the crew, Josh, followed me around the house and warned me not to do that because it would cost too much to repair the window. At that time, Mr. Hill, the real estate agent's husband, called a locksmith in Oracle which is a 15 minute drive from my new home. At that time, Jay told Josh he had to leave in 10 minutes. Regardless of whether the locksmith came or not, Josh was to collect the final $710 AND another $300 because the crew had to sit around when there was no key. Five minutes before the locksmith arrived, Josh left with all of my household goods and said they would bring them back the next day. Jay called right after the locksmith opened the door for me and asked if Josh was unloading the truck. I told him NO because he had ordered him to leave. Jay told me they couldn't bring my goods back until sometime the next week. I was left alone with what little I had in my car. I had "no blanket or bedding of any kind." All I had was a couple of pairs of work clothes I packed with the idea of unpacking my belongings. I had "no food." I had a small ice chest with a couple of drinks in it. I laid down on the floor to try to sleep - it was very cold - the temperature being at least 10 degrees colder than where I moved from and I didn't have a coat or sweater. I had planned on being able to sleep in my own bed because Jay had promised me as a selling point that was what I could expect. The next day I drove over to the local Dollar General and purchased $145.00 in supplies, food, and bedding so I could survive through the weekend. On Monday, Jay called to give me the news that he couldn't order my goods delivered back to me until the following Saturday. That would be a total of 10 days on the FLOOR! read more

We had this company move us from a home of approximately 2000 square feet to a new home about ten miles away, and they were extremely efficient. They were hard workers and I was very impressed with their work ethic, especially in the 100+ heat. The entire move took perhaps four and half hours from start to finish, and everything came through the move intact. I used Arizona Discount Movers a few weeks back for a move from Phoenix to Scottsdale. One of the cheapest I found they were as efficient, friendly and hardworking as I could have asked for. Someone called the day before the move to confirm and the movers called to tell me they could come early the day of. Originally scheduled from 12-3pm, they showed up at 10:30 and we were done my 1pm. The 2 movers worked hard to move all of our heavy stuff down 2 flights of stairs without complaint and James was especially friendly and professional. This is the worse moving company out there. The don't care about your stuff. They hit it on the doors and drop it off the truck and act like no big deal to them and when you call the manger you get the same thing. They take for ever to move so they can get more money out of you. They smoke on the truck with your stuff on it. They are txting on their cell phones and messing with it to play music. This was the second time using this company. The first time went well. When I called To set up my next move,i informed the receptionist of all my furniture items, that it was appoximately 800 sq ft. , and I had a ton of boxes. It was also on the third floor. The 2 guys they sent were nice, but it took them 10 freaking hours! I later found out that the receptionist wrote down a 500 sq ft apt and no boxes. The guys said they could have saved me 3hrs if they had sent a third person to help. I had everything packed and can only imagine how long it would have taken if I didn't. I called to complain and the manager Jay reimbursed me 1.5 hrs, my b/f was not happy and has requested to speak to the owner to get some of my money back. Also, one of the workers, Gary, is completely unreliable. I thought they had broken my chair, and Gary kept setting up times to come pick it up and have it fixed and never showed up. I decided not to have them try and fix it, since it only sounded really bad but worked fine. They would probably only make it worse. I will not be using them again or recommend them read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! If I could give less than 1 star I would. They picked up my mom's stuff in Scottsdale, (She's almost 80 years old) and drove it down to Mammoth AZ. When my mom arrived there, they pretended that someone had stolen her house key and they had no way to get in. She called a locksmith, but before the locksmith could get there, they claimed that they couldn't stay any longer. They got back into their truck and drove off with all of my mom's possessions. They then demanded another $910 from her and told her if she didn't pay them, that they wouldn't give her things back. They then withheld her things for over 1 week. In all that time she had nothing but the clothes on her back. She had to buy a blanket from a dollar store and sleep on the cold floor for over a week until they would finally come back with her things. THESE PEOPLE ARE EVIL. Well, where does one begin. Last May 2016, AZ Discount Movers (unfortunately) moved me. I have moved many times in my 57 years and NEVER have I had the damage that I had with this company!!! First of all, we have all worked hard for what we have, so if you appreciate what you have, use ANY OTHER COMPANY BESIDE THIS ONE!!!! I asked Jay if I needed insurance, he told me "NO" due to the fact that they have people to fix ANYTHING....,,.Well it is February 4th, nothing is fixed and after SEVERAL calls to Jay(most of which he was on the phone and William assured me that Jay would call me back.....that never happened) I filled out the paperwork that was requested. After months, Jay doesn't want to fix anything, now he wants the weights of all the furniture that was damaged or just plain broke, because now he wants to pay me pennies on the pound, which won't even cover the cost of one marble table!!!! I am OUTRAGED!!!! This company does not stand by it's word!! First you talk to Jay then William then Jay, then Jay say he will have the owner Amy call.....that call NEVER took place. I had called all the company's that I had purchased the furniture from to get the exact weight's. Tried on several different occasion's to give the information to Jay, once again always on the phone and won't return the call. The last communication I had was with Josh (oh boy a newcomer) he said he was "trying to help out, due to the fact that they were so far behind on compensation" (that should be a warning right there). I gave Josh the weight's of all the furniture. He then called me back to "QUESTION" the weight's that I had given him. Once again OUTRAGEOUS!!!! We hired these movers to move us from one house to the other. Most of our stuff was in the storage and only had the big stuff and maybe 20 boxes. All boxes were labeled and as one guy was moving the electronic box he said it broke. He then Re taped the box. Didn't think anything about it. It took them along time to move us, 8 hours! After I unpacked everything I noticed that my touch screen laptop was missing. I put the laptop in the box that magically broke. Called the company said my computer was missing and they told me to file a police report. The one mover came over and we had the cops come and filed the report. The company did not do anything to Reimburse me, basically I am shit out of luck. They said I can pay them $600 for the movers to take a lie detector test and if they don't pass they would Reimburse me. Why would I pay them another $600 when I am already out $1600. Worst company EVER!!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I also filed a complaint to the BBB. read more

Our total moving experience was amazing! Booking was easy. The customer service over the phone was outstanding! I added a third stop and the person on the phone was more than accommodating. As promised I was called the day before to confirm the move ... on a holiday! We received a courtesy call when the movers were on their way. They arrived a few minutes early and got right to work. Josh and David were outstanding! They worked quickly and were friendly, polite, and took very good care with our furniture. They went the extra mile to assure that our furniture was moved and worked for us. They gave the same outstanding service when they moved some furniture to the third stop. In my opinion, Josh and David represented the company in the most positive way. Their actions indicated that they loved their job, which increased my comfort level right away. several items missing after the move, an ak47 rifle, a ps3 and we are still missing other articles, do not use this company, they are thieves and will rip you off. the police report will be filed soon, they are currently taking fingerprints off the plastic case the gun was in, how are you people going to explain that, and we are still finding items that are missing, I stand by everything I have said and will prove it, please tell me why it took your crew 1 1/2 hours to drive 20 miles, beside did one of your crew also inform you that his aunt lives across the street from my old house? don't suppose they stopped at the truck stop and had someone pick up the stolen items do you? read more
