A friend of mine took her dog here for a teeth cleaning and highly recommended this place. I called and left a message and they called me back within the hour. I made an appointment for my dog's teeth cleaning and extraction. They were so great at talking me through the process and what I needed to do. The price was one forth of what my primary vet wanted to charge. I brought my boy in at 0700 hours and the staff was wonderful, kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. They calmed my fears and then the vet looked at my boy and advised there would probably be some extractions. She asked if I had any questions and took the time to answer them. She was very kind. I got stuck in traffic to pick my boy up afterwards and a wonderful staff member waited for me even though they were already closed. She was so kind and patient while advising me about my dogs after care and about how the procedure went. I wish that I would have got her name. I am just so impressed with the level of professionalism and care that my dog and I received. I highly recommend coming here and so wish they were closer to use them all the time. read more

I used to have decent experiences with this place. But the last animal i took to be spayed here, and i have taken 5, they really dropped the ball for me. I've called them three times after my surgery in a week and no one has called me back. They returned her to me, and said she has dried blood on her stomach. Which I thought, why would you leave dried blood on her? No. When they shaved her, they cut her way too short and cut her, leaving her with a clipper burn. They never emailed me my receipt OR discharge information. They also told me my animal was in heat before the surgery when she showed no signs of being in heat at all and always has in the past. So I paid for it just taking their word for it, but they apparently had no way to show me. My animal had a seizure from one of the medications that she was given, and when I called asking questions, they never returned my call, again. So I am definitely not returning for any general practice or getting her stitches removed, which they also did a hack job on. Really disappointed. read more

Worst place to trust someone to take care of your animal. they were suppose to clip my dogs nails. my dog is an emotional support do, and it was explained to them in the beginning. They muzzled my dog, it was so tight that he couldn't breathe. They ignored that and he started shaking and passed out. They had to do chest compressions to bring him back. After the situation happen, they sent me to the lobby and didn't say anything or explain anything. Now I'm an emotional wreck and my dog can't even be the support. it's really sad that they have no compassion or integrity as humans or in their profession. read more

We first came here years ago. I'll be perfectly honest: if the prices were not so reasonable, I would go elsewhere. And sometimes I do -- the VCA Animal Medical Center is an exceptional facility. Whenever I take my pup to the VCA, I always feel like I am in an actual doctor's office. Arizona Spay Neuter Clinic does not compare, mostly because it is just that -- a clinic. The clinic is a low-cost option for those who need spay and neuter services and also vaccinations. The ladies up front are generally cordial and accommodating. I believe we have had interaction with Juli and Jenica -- both are just wonderful and hugely helpful. But while you will likely catch a glimpse of Dr. Scott, in the times we have been I have never seen him greet a customer in any way whatsoever. The vaccination clinic runs Monday through Friday, 2-4 with no apointments. You can get DHPP, bordetella, influenca, rabies, Felv and other shots here. And they renew pet licenses on the spot! During this month's visit, I was able to get rabies shot, a county license renewal and nail grinding for less than $50. Nice! The clinic also offers treatments for roundworm and tapework, along with testing. And they sell some flea and tick products. read more

would like zero stars to give zero stars. if you know the area you can imagine the clientele and that's exactly the employees that work there. zero customer service, zero friendly faces, scary girls behind the counter that don't acknowledge you, and rude behavior which makes me concerned for how they treat the pets. tried to rescheduled my dog and they told me it was cancellation with fee so they charged me $25 for an appt 3 months out. sounds like a scam. be mindful of who you talk to and the time you call so you can prove you did cancel properly. scamming that you didn't cancel on time. I did try to reschedule a week before appt during holidays. they were unkind and unhelpful. they are supposedly a low cost clinic but I don't recommend. customer service is non existent. Our daughter had an appointment for her dog to be spayed. They sent home the dog with my daughter's husband barely breathing and extremely lethargic. By the time they arrived home my daughter saw her belly was bloated and oozing blood and she had severe labored breathing. Taking her immediately to the emergency hospital she had to go through surgery again to be saved. read more

The place is crowded with folks seeking lower cost service. You book an appointment and then arrive around 7 or 8am and then sit and wait. If your dog is active, as is ours, you may want to sit outside rather than endure an hour or so of agitated dog. The many other folks waiting are generally nice and kind, as is the staff. But economy will cost you time. Our dog's slightly more complicated care was fine. As instructed, we returned six hours later, around 4pm, to retrieve him. All smiles, except... Around his head and neck was the infamous, uncomfortable, and in some circumstances, dangerous "Cone of Sorrow," a thick plastic device ($10) surrounding our dog's head, supposedly to keep our dog from gnawing at his stitches. All well and good for a day, maybe -- but only! Our pup went wild wearing the oversized thing, gnawing on the cone and tugging at its tie-ribbon to try and get it off. At home he banged hard into doors and objects, even his bowl, and fell down concrete stairs outside. Yikes! The vet wanted him to wear this abomination for two weeks. Impossible. The experience was terrible from the start and just got worse. So we looked on Amazon for a softer, better designed and more humane replacement -- and found one right away, a five-star, inflatable, and tough doughnut-like affair, one among many of equal quality It's just right and just $16. This shop would make a lot more lasting fans by offering this effective, humane anti-chewing alternative for six more dollars than the ineffective plastic cone. We're talking about a $200 bill overall, so why not? We'd have added a star to this review. It's called managing "customer experience." read more

Horrible! The two staff I spoke with were extremely rude. After waiting over an hour and the staff literally dragging my dog in the back, they refused to spay my dog because she was "too nervous". When I asked if she was acting aggressive the told me "Not at all but she was peeing and pooping so we won't do it" when I asked for a recommendation of where to take her the staff said I don't know you'll have to call around" I was so frustrated that they were not more helpful. What I didn't understand was there was a pit bull that was super aggressive. He was trying to attack other people and dogs and they still took him but not my dog because she was nervous! Don't waste your time here. To reply to your comment...your staff asked me to follow her not help her. After the exam she specifically said that my dog was not aggressive only nervous. The pit bull tried to bite my dog through the chair. Your staff did not recommend any other place she said she was not from Tucson and to call around other low cost clinics I explained I did not care about the cost I only came there because my vet does not do spay and neuter surgeries and you take appointments on Mondays. The customer next to me made a recommendation. But it is quite interesting to me how your staff recalls the situation in order to make your business look better. read more

This is the second time I have used these services and I have another appointment pending for my grand doggies. The second appointment was my least favorite due to the lack of customer service. I am the proud owner of a vocal, male, Weimaraner puppy who I brought in to be neutered. I was the first puppy parent in the clinic and because of my puppy's vocal-ness I was told to sit outside! I was very shocked. I was also disappointed when the tech came out to get my puppy and was abrupt. When I went to pay for the services I asked when I would say goodbye to my puppy and I was told I would not see him again until after the procedure. I took my dog on 10/16/19 to get spayed. I dropped her off at 7:30pm paid all fees for the spay/rabies/parvo and distemper. Doctor Gordon called me at noon to tell me that there was complications, that my dog only had one kidney, and that she only removed one ovary. I showed up at 2pm to pick up my dog, before I walked in, I put my phone in record mode. Clearly in distress, apologizing again and again for what she had done, admitting wrong doing, wanting to make amends by refunding me all my money, plus free antibiotics and pain meds. KOLD 13 came to my house, listened to the recording, and did an interview. I think she accidentally cut out my dogs kidney and lied about it. Prices are great. We did the walk-in vaccinations and the wait time isn't unreasonable, about an hour total between checking in and leaving. The vet tech who took our pet and brought him back out was friendly and professional. My only complaint is that I wish they'd let us back while doing their shots/other procedures. And the front office receptionist was very visibly irritated with the high volume of patients. She was very short, made rude facial expressions, didn't smile once and it looked like she just hated being there. We took in our kitten to get spayed, I was a bit nervous, as a kitten we had gotten from petsmart had a huge incissions ( 4 1/2 - 5 inches) which got infected and took forever to heal. This new kitten someone had dropped off in our neighborhood, we took her in and adopted her. She need to be spayed so we picked Arizona Spay Neuter, they did a fantastic job, she came out a bit loopy, but her incision was a mere 1 inch , so tiny. This kitten is like a bat out of hell, always flying through the air and bouncing off walls, I knew we were in for a challenge at keeping her still. An hour after being home she was ready to fly and bounce, we kept her in a bathroom and spent a lot of time with her, kept her as calm as possible, and made it through. Two weeks later, her incision looks totally healed , and she is back flying and bouncing. Went very very well. Wish all my other cats in my past had it this good. So glad they are able to do such a small incision, makes a huge difference in healing time. read more

I took my two cats in to be vaccinated during their shot clinic (M-F, 2-4p, no appointment needed) on two separate occasions. I concur with most of the other review (by Britannia). Setting: I had no experience with getting my cats vaccines, so I was nervous and the clinic setting was possibly not the best choice. The staff, while very professional, calm, and moving at assembly-line like speed, did not explain much, even when I asked questions. I'd be more comfortable going back now, but it was quite stressful the first two times. As noted, the waiting room is small, crowded, and hot, even at the start of the clinic. My two cats peed in their crates on the way there and unfortunately the cats had to sit in it until they were taken back for their shots because there was no place for me to take them to clean it out while we waited. Shot clinic procedure: The general process for the clinic is you step to the front counter and give the receptionist your name and why you are there. If you've never been there before, you'll be given paperwork to fill out. You take a seat. The receptionist eventually comes back to you to confirm what services you'll be receiving. Then you wait and a tech will call your pet's name when they're ready to take him/her in the back for shots. If you don't go back with your pet, you wait and then they bring him/her back out to you. Then you wait some more and the billing person (also seated at reception) will call you up when she gets to your form. There was no explanation given about the bill, so I had to ask about results of the health check-up (which were EXTREMELY brief in my case and typed on the forms) and any aftercare instructions (you're given a brochure on that). Wait times: Both times I was there were Tuesday afternoons. I had to wait 30-45 minutes for the cats to be taken back for their shots (I noticed some owners went back with their pets, but they took the crates from me) and then I had to wait about the same amount of time after I got the cats back to be called up to pay my bill. So in total I was there about 1-1.5 hours. Clientele and safety: The other customers mostly were dog owners. I think I saw 2 cats total during my trips there. As noted in the other review, owner etiquette really varied and staff did not really get involved. On my second visit, a man brought in a large rottweiler that was very...friendly. It started nipping at another dog that began to nip back, and the collar came free. The receptionist calmly watched for a moment (while the rest of the waiting room noticeably waited anxiously) and when the owner was obviously incapable of regaining control of his dog, she grabbed a rope (I'm sure there's a technical name for this) and eventually looped it around the dogs neck. My memory's fuzzy, but she might have gently suggested he take the dog outside. In any case, he did. I also noted that most people who brought in a pet, also brought in a spouse, child(ren), and/or friend(s). It's a tiny waiting room, so if you can manage without tagalongs, I suggest you do so. Overall, I thought this was professionally run. It's obvious they're not putting a lot into overhead, but the staff was courteous and I thought they got me in and out as fast as possible, given the crowds. There was a steady flow of people in and out, so I can't complain about wait times. However, the hecticness of the wait room was stressful for me cats (and me), so for their next round of shots I might consider taking them to my regular vet. read more

I do agree, I'm not a fan of the small waiting room, but I hold my dog so I don't really worry a lot. For those with larger animals , or more than one; just simply tell the owner of the dog that's bothering you to control their animal, most owner's don't want to get sued for not controlling their animal. & for owner's with really big scary animals, just do your moral obligation & wait outside until it's your turn, please =] read more

This place is awesome prices are super low for vaccinations... because of this amazing place I have been able to save so much money on going to the vet just to get my doggy vaccinated... I used to have to pay $50.00 for a bs "checkup" and then pay an additional 20 or so dollars per shot, 45.00 for a heartworm exam and etc.... by the time I left the vet my wallet felt so violated that it wasn't even funny. Now that I have learned from my past mistakes.. I come here for all my doggy's non emergency needs.. (aka shots and heartworm tests).... Staff is awesome as well! When we first got our kittens last year, a brother and sister from the same litter, we knew we were going to have 2X the bills so we were trying to save money. We had the babies "fixed" here and got their first round of shots as well. As others have stated, the staff is incredibly professional and efficient and we have NO complaints as far as the services that were rendered, and even fewer complaints about the price! We did end up going to an actual vet for any subsequent shots and checkups mainly because of the wait times and the fact that people really do not control their animals. Even a year later, my other half still can't get over the last time he was there with the kittens, and someone's small little dog went running out the front door, right into the parking lot (there's no buffer, no second set of doors or anything like that) and got hit by a car. It didn't look good for the doggy and we still wonder every now and then whether it lived. I would give it a higher rating if they had some requirement that animals remain on leashes or in crates while in the waiting area, but there doesn't seem to be anything like that. In sum: The price is right and the staff/services are good, but it's every pet for him/herself in the waiting room. read more

This isn't the kind of place you want to make your main vet, but if you just need vaccinations it's perfectly acceptable. It's often crowded because of the low prices, but the wait doesn't take long. I went here several times when my roommate got a puppy, and we were always in-and-out less than 45 minutes. We also had the puppy spayed here. It made me a little bit uncomfortable because like Lauren's review mentioned it has an "assembly line" atmosphere, but the staff really was very caring towards our pup and there were no problems with the surgery. She recovered quickly and the scar healed up well. Like I said, I would find a regular vet you can visit that will remember you and your animal, but if you are just getting a new pet and on a budget this place will suit your needs. read more

This clinic not only hurt my family immensely but forced us to pay for their mistake. We have three cats, a male and two females. The past week everyone has acted unusual. We assume it was almost time for a heat cycle and made the appointment to have them spayed. We had talked and if any of the cats were pregnant we would wait until after the pregnancy and then have them spayed. Well guess what... one was. Our male had been acting crazy since the females went in for surgery and the female has been super snugly and i guess we know why. This clinic attempted to reach us ONCE and not just once but FROM A NUMBER NOT LISTED AS THEIRS and aborted the kittens without our consent and then CHARGED US FOR THE ABORTION. When I called to have the charge reversed for the additional "service" I was met with ignorance and heartlessness. I now have two traumatized cats and one that doesnt know why I took his pregnant mate away and brought her back broken. We may not have known she was pregnant but he sure did.
