I've had two very different experiences here. My initial experience was great, however it was a few years ago. A different veterinary Dr. Recently, my senior dog had a bit of a health emergency. The young vet was brazenly arrogant, and my entire body felt anxious when dealing with her. She made a threat to report me and have him taken from me if I did not vaccinate him, prior to first checking to make sure he was ok. It was maddening. His immune system was already taxed and he's been rapidly going down hill since. She actually refused to give me any vaccine information and I believe in my soul she actually misled me to the type of vaccine he received. He nearly died a few days later. He was not a candidate. He needed care and attention, and instead was received coldly and cruelly. It was an absolutely disconnected and strange experience. It left my friend and I horrified. This place is a money hustle and their new young vet lacked kindness and empathy. It was a dark experience. We have since found a lovely vet to assist with his recovery, who is cordial and kind... and most of all puts us all at ease. Encanto, you may want to make sure your Vets actually like animals or can at least pretend to care about each animal without bias or judgement: I'd give this place a 0 for medical care, however, the front desk staff has always been kind and accommodating. Suggestion: perhaps don't make threats to a loving pet owner with a senior dog they love with their whole soul, in a crisis. Just start there. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful and the vet recommended several items. Because I am budget conscious I opted for some least expensive options, which included bloodwork. I got a follow up on my dog's bloodwork the next day along with them approving rx from 3rd part to save on costs. I am very pleased with them and would highly recommend them to others. I had my first initial experience with this place with a kitten, and the staff were all very lovely. I don't blame them for the problems at all, as I'm sure they have little to no control over them. The vet tech I saw was very friendly and amazing to my kitten. I'm coming to complain and write a review because I was quoted $790-$1000 to neuter a kitten. There's nothing wrong with this kitten before anyone thinks maybe he has a health condition, nope. They also try to sell you on this kitten package which from afar seems nice, they discount some services if you pay for a few appointments in advance. But, upon research and closer inspection I believe this type of thing is predatory. Why would you need to offer a kitten package to ensure people come back for the remainder of services instead of rendering all of those "discounted services" at the discounted price? You only have the first appointment to decide. They also offer 35% off the spay/neuter appointment if you accept the agreement, and 20% off lifetime dental cleanings. For my kittens initial needs like shots and deworming, I think I'll be looking elsewhere as I don't trust the pricing of these services. I've never seen anyone quote me $1000 to fix an animal. Please, use discernment and research these costs. There's low cost vaccine clinics and spay neuter everywhere. But, again, I don't blame the vets here as they are lovely people. The desk lady was also really nice. So basically: minus two stars for costs, plus three stars for service and availability. read more

I took my 10 lb dog to Encanto Prt Clinic for a checkup and a tooth cleaning. I didn't realikze they are listed under low cost vet services. They are not. It cost me $103.00 after my 69.00 payment to make an appointment and an added 34.00 for a rabies shot. I also had them check to see what it would cost to clean his teeth. I was give a quote from 1900.00 to 2900. If this is a low cost dental provider we all have a real problem. read more

Crash had his first puppy check-up and it went extremely well. Previously, they've taken care of my Cairn Terrier, Lulu Cupcake until her passing and that process was dealt with in love and compassion. I find the prices affordable for me. The staff is always courteous and detail-oriented. The facility is always clean. I even got a 5% discount because I bought an ornament from the charity wish tree. Very Friendly and helpful Pet Clinic. Not like other clinics that have become corporations. I feel the pricing was fair and explained up front while expressing care for both me and my pet. During the COVID they offered curbside assistance and communicated well while my pet was in the office (while I waited in my vehicle). My last vet became a corporation, so I was looking for a new vet. We don't go often for check ups, but do need a vet for rabies, snakebites/serious incidents/illnesses and then age related issues including putting our pet down (knock on wood). I have been happy with Encanto in the past, but things ssem to have changed since Dr. Ireland retired. They've had some turnover in vets, though Dr. Kranch is still there. They have, however, gotten extremely expensive. Daisy's dental two weeks ago was $1700. I've never paid nearly that much. When I brought her in yesterday for her post-op checkup, the strangest thing happened. First, I asked them to check a hotspot and was told they were booked and I'd have to make another appointment. There was only one other dog in the place. Then the vet tech took Daisy into an exam room without me to be checked. She came back a few minutes later to say Dr. Kranch had checked the hotspot after all and would shave it and give me meds. The whole exam occurred while I sat in the waiting room. I noticed the other client also sat in the waiting room while they took his dog in the back. I don't know what to make of this. read more

I went here because of the stellar reviews. My young dog is clearly very sick so I researched to find the best clinic regardless of cost. I chose Encanto. Boy was I wrong. Doctor comes in, immediately says, "When I see a young dog losing weight and still eating I think valley fever". We then discuss testing options. I say, I want the most comprehensive test, meaning, I want to give the test that most likely gives us the correct result. She says, the comprehensive test does not test for valley fever. I then say, well if you think its valley fever then lets test for that. What ever test is best. They then give me an estimate with a test on it, which is medical words that I do not understand, and I sign in. A few days later I get a call with the results and after hearing a bunch of stuff that isnt valley fever (kidneys normal, liver normal, thyroid normal, platelets normal, globulins high) she says, based on this I think we should now run then valley test. I was floored. I thought we DID run the valley test. Apparently they ran a very thorough and comprehensive test, that is actually more expensive, but doesnt cover valley fever. I explain to the doctor she made a mistake and misunderstood me. She puts me on hold for an extended time to talk to her manager, likely to get the story straight. Once the manager comes on she says very condescending, I hear you have concerns about the tests. Um no, you ran the wrong test. She then told me it was my fault. I signed off on the test that was run and the doctor put in the file I declined the valley test. I did not. I specifically said, if you think its valley, lets run that test. When I tell the manager that their doctor clearly misunderstood me and made a mistake, she stuck by her story of, I declined the test and signed off on the test they ran. I signed what they told me to sign and had faith, trusted, that they ran the best test to most likely determine if the disease the vet most likely thinks is the case. If the vet believes its valley why run the more expensive test? Even if I say so, why not tell me why that's a bad idea. Well I said, IF you think its valley, run that test. I am now out $430, still have no useful results, a very sick dog, and now no surplus money to start over. At no point did the manager offer me consolation or empathy. She only blamed me for authorizing the wrong treatment and called me a liar by saying I declined valley tests when I absolutely did not decline them. I said, If you think its valley, run that test. Maybe they are 5 stars under perfect conditions, but if their doctor makes a mistake, you are screwed and they dont care at all. She ended the call by saying, its clear we can meet no resolution so Im hanging up on you now. *CLICK" read more

4 weeks ago I had a refill request sent in for my dog's Tramadol that she's been on for almost 4 years for degenerative disk. I went to pick it up and it hadn't been filled, so I waited until the following Thursday to check on the refill request again. (I always try to request a week early for exactly these issues) It's Covid and things happen. Still not filled by late Friday so I called the clinic. The only Dr. that could approve schedule drugs was on vacation so I was going to need to wait another week. Ok. They went a head and approved a 2 week supply until the Dr. got back. I went to go pick them up a few days later and after waiting 45 minutes for a Dr. to re-approve the Rx I finally got them. There seems to be an abnormal amount of approvals needed. I sent in another refill request when the Dr. was back. I heard nothing. The following week I did it again. Nothing. Emailed last night and finally received a reply that said the Rx was denied because I hadn't had a 6 month check up. Why did it take 4 weeks and multiple attempts by to get this Rx before being told this. Had I been told this 4 weeks ago I would have happily scheduled an appointment. Now they think I have a few hours mid work day to drop everything and come in same day at 1pm? Come on. This is ridiculous. No blood work was even done for the original Rx so why is a 6 month check up needed. I haven't ever needed a 6 month check up before. I feel as if this isn't a policy, but a "we think this person is stealing her dogs drugs". Not cool. I'm now trying to get my dogs records sent to a new vet. Crickets. read more

When I called to inform them that my dog had a ruptured cyst on her shoulder and that it was bleeding they refused to see her because they were busy. I have a senior kitty I adopted a year and a half ago from PACC named Prince. On Tuesday I noticed that he was meowing differently and seemed to be sensitive around his mouth, then i noticed one of his canine teeth sticking out the side! I panicked and called Encanto immediately, having done some research prior to this. Prince hasn't been to a vet since I got him from PACC, so we were new clients to Encanto, yet they scheduled me same day for an exam. Dr Chance and a tech checked on Prince, ordered extensive blood work, and told me they suspected he had odontoclastic resorptive lesions which will require surgery. They didn't have any openings for surgery until the next week, but they spoke to another doctor, Dr Nausley, who agreed to squeeze in Prince NEXT DAY! They reviewed every single little thing I could possibly be charged for showing a range from the smallest amount I could pay, to the highest amount. I can't express enough how grateful I was for this kind of transparency. Everyone was so sweet and empathetic to me and my cat, especially when I arrived late to drop off Prince for surgery. After surgery, Dr Nausley called me and told me how everything went smoothly and told me Prince could be picked up at 5. When I picked him, I was provided his medications and detailed information on how to care for him and make him comfortable while he recovers. And as far as his surgery cost, we were not far away for the lowest possible cost! I had an amazing experience and I'm excited to be a lifetime customer here. read more

Went to Encanto for the first time for a free wellness check and it was amazing. First of all we called at 559 and they picked up even though they closed at 6. All of the staff was so friendly and explained everything super well to us. They didn't try to pressure us into anything just simply laid out all the costs for us. We left the visit with options to improve her health without paying anything because of the free wellness visit from the Humane Society where we adopted her. read more

I have always loved this vet clinic, both of my dogs have gotten excellent care there for several years now. And Triva (the groomer) is AMAZING! But today, the staff really went above and beyond. I showed up with my dog and a difficult situation, and as soon as I entered the door I burst into tears. The irony that I saw a new doctor, named Dr. Chance and my whole experience went south seems ironic to me. This was also my first time here after countless glowing reviews but I've never had such a fiasco at a vet before. Hang on to your hat! I showed up to a very crowded vet but was thankful they could see me (a new patient) the same day. I waited a bit before being seen. The vet tech was very nice and asked questions before I did more waiting for Dr. Chance. She came in and ran some basic tests like bending the knee and whatnot. The doctor was nice. She had no idea nor inkling what was wrong with my guy. She offered xrays and valley fever test. I went with xrays. The test came back showing bad arthritis. She was informative and polite in answering my questions. Here's where it goes horribly wrong. They called the next day and asked how he was (no better), so they wrote me two scripts for pain meds. I couldn't pickup the scripts because I worked till 2 but they close at noon on Saturday. They emailed me the scripts, which turns out the pharmacy doesn't take. I call the vet back and they fax in the scripts to my pharmacist. I go to pickup the scripts after work and there is only one! The pharmacy told me they sent two pages for the same script. Ugh. Encanto is closed Sundays so he was without a pain med. I called Monday to get a written script and was told it could take 24 hours for a written one. Really?? The vet got me the script by 2 and I dropped it off at my pharmacy. When I went to pick it up the pharmacy said they couldn't read the DEA number and need to call the vet tomorrow. My dog has gone with pain meds for 3 days. I'm beyond frustrated. I was so hoping for an awesome experience like everyone else but it doesn't seem like anyone knows how to write scripts there. What should have been a simple, come in and get the scripts because it's the only way the pharmacy will take it - conversation turned into wasted time, a dog still in pain, and tons of frustration. read more

It's time to update my review of this wonderful place. There is nowhere else I would trust as my regular vet as much as I trust Encanto Pet Clinic. They have helped us out a lot of the last few years, from check ups to surgeries to my crazy "my cat has never made that noise before" antics. Even this last spring, I was sure that my cat had some sort of kitty flu, and it turns out it was allergies. They gave her some allergy meds and sent me on my over-reactive way. We brought our new dog, Bowie in for her wellness exam, and she was terrified. They managed to calm her down and get everything done. Dr. Kranch ended up needed to put a muzzle on Bowie to hear her heart beat, because she kept trying to hide under the chairs and generally was causing a kerfuffle, but Dr. Kranch persevered through my dogs nonsense calmly and got the job done. She never even looked annoyed, and when I apologized for my dogs ridiculous behavior she was very quick to tell me she understood and that it was ok. I have story upon story I could tell about the fantastic way that I and my animals have been treated every time we go (and with basically a petting zoo at my house, we have been here a lot). I absolutely trust whatever course of action Dr. Kranch and Dr. Ireland recommend, and after 25+ years of being a loyal customer, I know that they wouldn't steer me wrong or try to line their own pockets with something unnecessary. They even sent us a really nice card when our Mastiff died. It was hand-written, and it seemed everyone that we had ever encountered signed it. When I took Bowie in for her wellness exam, Dr. Kranch again told me how sorry she was that my dog passed. It was very nice to know that the people that took care of my old dog truly cared for her, and were sad to see her go. Encanto has been a part of my family since before I was a part of my family. My parents brought their pets to Dr. Ireland, and I will continue to bring my pets in as well. I'm happy to have them be a part of my family, and I know my family members will always be well cared for at their hands. read more

I recently adopted a dog from PACC and needed to take her for an overall wellness check, my family had previously taken their dogs here so they suggested I take her there. I was really happy to see that they were on the list for reduced price/free visits with your adoption paper work. We had a later appointment so I could take her after I got off work, silly me thought my puppy would cooperate and get into the car her self and cooperate..HA wishful thinking on my part! So about 15 minutes late and a scraped hand later we finally made it. I apologized for our tardiness and the front desk was so understanding and didn't make me feel bad at all (unlike other places I had taken my parents' dog). My dog is quite scared of people, sounds and quick movements because they believe she was abused previous to me having got her so it was no easy task of getting her to cooperate. They staff there were more than understanding of this and tried their best to make her feel comfortable and bribed her through many things with treats, lots and lots of treats! Sadly at a low point we did have to slide her across the floor and lift her onto the scale but it only got better from there.(I say puppy because she is but she is about 7 months so shes not small by any means) We saw Dr. Amy Kranch and she was great. Very helpful with all my questions and even had the front desk get me more information about some pet insurances and trainers they recommend to help her feel better around people and no be so afraid. We recently relocated to this part of town/this vet practice and simultaneously got a new puppy, so we've been juggling appointments to establish care for old dogs, new dogs, black dogs, blue dogs (it sometimes seems) - and have seen several different vets. I have only had great experiences at Encanto. Their team is very friendly and helpful and I love the doctor. She is kind and loves our dog and she explains things very well. We brought our puppy in last year for his initial visit and then brought him back a few weeks ago for an abscess on his chin. The abscess came and went over a few months so we didn't know what it was but they were able to get him right in and take a sample and saw it was just puss. So they kept him for a few hours, drained it, and gave him antibiotics. It drained for a few more days and now it's completed healed up. The office called to check on him a few times, even the doctor called which was really nice! read more

My husband and I trust both Dr. Kranch and Dr. Ireland with our two cats, who have been their patients for since 2011. They've treated my cats from their injuries and illness multiple times. My cats are 10+ yo and very healthy. All of their annual dental cleanings have gone smoothly. My cats are generally skiddish but are comfortable here. When there are loud dogs in the waiting room, the staff will try to get me into a quieter area. I'm not sure if they know HOW MUCH my cats and I appreciates that. Kept up on their shots and annual checkups but the very first time I had a serious a dog with a serious illness, couldn't get up and couldn't eat, they refused to see her for two days, saying they could not fit her in for at least a week.
