Much better experience on my last visit here, the portions are quite large and the price is fair -- but I enjoyed my pizzas I ordered this time and found it a bit more flavorful. Without considering price at all, this is one of the more convenient locations to dine if you're enjoying any type of entertainment or event in Arlington Heights. The interior is nice and cozy and service is friendly and efficient. On this last visit I tried the thin crust pepperoni and pan with sausage. I was happy with how generously the cheese was layered and how the tomato sauce wasn't too sour or acidic. The bready texture of the crust also matched the other textures of the ingredients nicely. The Western was the surprise of the meal, as the mix of herbs and bacon created a delicious flavor combination. Definitely a hit with everyone at the table. Went here with friends and shared a few pizzas. The atmosphere was nice, upscale tavern like. The hostess was friendly and helpful, as was the waitstaff who were very informative and helpful when we were ordering. The pizza was good. I'm not sure if I would say it was great. The sauce is a bit sweet for my taste. The amount of sauce and toppings were good. Price seemed quite reasonable, especially for the larger sizes. I have been eating here for over 30 years grew up at this place haven't been Here in about 10 years!! Now visiting in town and had to order the absolute world famous stuffed artichoke. We used to drive an hour and a half each way just to order stuffed artichokes with our meals as a kid growing up did not disappoint one bit just as good as it was 20 to 30 years ago and at a different location always ate at the original in Elmwood Park. This was so great outside atmosphere was beautiful with the new outside seating (from Covid days) I highly recommend to go on a beautiful May Day!! My husband and I went to Armand's Pizzeria to meet some friends. I made a reservation because we were supposed to have seven people in our party. It was still a good idea but there was plenty of room for us to spread out on this Tuesday evening. We started the meal with bread. We ordered three pizzas because we wanted to try all of the dough styles. We ordered a pepperoni on 16" thick crust, sausage on 14" pan, and western on 14" extra thin crust. All of the pizza crusts had their own style but each tasted really good. My favorite was the sausage pan pizza. The crust was thick but soft and the cheese was so gooey. I went with the Saturday Cheese Ravioli Special and my friend had Vermicelli with Olive Oil and Lemon. Both meals came with soup or salad. Came here this evening for the first time ever with my husband, and it was so good! We are so happy we decided to stop by, and thanks to the delicious food we smelled from passing the restaurant because that was what brought us in here to begin with! From the moment we walked through the door, we had such a positive experience. The man who sat us was extremely nice and personable, and he asked us if we wanted to sit at the bar or on a high top table. We said we didn't have a preference of where we sat, so he sat us at a high top table with large comfy barstools, but he told us that we could sit anywhere that was open if we changed our mind and wanted to sit somewhere else. Next, our waitress came right away and took our drink order. She took our food order very quickly, too, and she helped us with a smile throughout our whole dinner. She constantly asked if we were okay, refilled our water when needed, and asked if our food was okay. For our dinner, we ordered the hot chicken wings, which had a zing and tasted unique when it came to the sauce's flavor. The wings themselves were also large and juicy. For our entrée, my husband and I ordered a medium 12" pepperoni and garlic pizza, and it was amazing. Honestly, the pizza had one of the best thin crusts I've had on pizza because it was so crispy and flavorful. My husband also agreed. The balance of ingredients was perfect, too. We got all of our food out within 30 minutes of sitting in the restaurant, and it was all perfectly cooked. The restaurant was clean, and the prices were not bad for the delicious quality of food. We ended up getting a completely wrong pizzas Second, I ordered the caprese sandwich, and asked for the soup as the side. Waitress said the soup is usually not an option but she will make it happen and will include it this time. Upon receiving the bill the soup had a $5 charge- which is the full price of the soup. I asked the waitress about it and she said she couldn't add it as a side after all. When I asked what then was my side, she said nothing. She refused to take off the charge as it was "too late". I went to Taste of Arlington Heights in September and got a slice of their cheese pizza. I liked it so much I got a second slice that night. The next morning I woke up CRAVING the pizza still so I literally ordered a whole pizza (The Main Event pizza - that's what it's called...16" twice as thick crust which was what was being served at Taste of AH). This is the greatest pizza I've ever had. It's just different. The cheese is so good, the sauce has a wonderful tang to it, and it pairs well with the twice as thick crust. (It's not too thick, nothing close to deep dish but the perfect amount). Every year I pick a restaurant to celebrate my birthday with family for dinner. This year I picked Armand's based on "The Main Event" pizza that I had a few weeks prior. I saw all of the mixed reviews on Yelp and got a bit worried bc a 3.2/5 score quite frankly isn't great and it didn't make sense to me based on how much I enjoyed their pizza. I saw negative reviews on friendliness of staff, well I haven't experienced anything but wonderful people in the 3 times I've experienced this restaurant. At the street fest the first time, I went to shake crushed red pepper on my slice and the top fell off and half the jar went onto my slice and the server insisted on giving me a new slice. I told her it's ok, that it might have been my fault for shaking it to hard. She still gave me a new slice so I could enjoy what I paid for. Last night our server was Dante (I think that was his name) and the service couldn't have been better. I also saw negative reviews on the quality of some food items such as in mushy fries, over cooked pasta, messy pizza tops. Well my stepdad ordered a meatball sub with fries last night and the fries looked so good and were nice and crispy. I ordered the cheese ravioli with vodka sauce which I thought was good, not great (just being honest) but my mom and aunt ordered the baked mostaccoli and they couldn't say enough good things about it, ate it all. As for the negative pizza reviews with pictures I saw, they all seemed to have shifted in transit on delivery, more toppings = more things to shift. Idk, the pizza is great tho. My cousin ordered the chicken parm sandwich and it looked SO good, I will be getting it in the future. To wrap up this review, ignore the negative reviews and try this place out. Get "The Main Event" pizza, you won't regret it. Let me save you from having the worst Italian meal of your life. Started with the baked clams. They were just horrendous, chewy in a way I can't possibly describe. They did take them off the bill, and the waitress was accommodating. Ordered a pizza in which to eat the crust I'd imagine one would need wooden teeth. Came for a fundraiser! Which it was super cool of them to host. We ordered the garlic bread for an appetizer, it was very cheesy - more like cheesy bread :) We also ordered the pan pizza with sausage and green peppers, it's definitely a lot... I think we had 2/3 left over. And a lot of cheese! So again if you like cheese this is good. Crust is average, not a lot of sauce. Would not say this pizza is anything special, but definitely good! We sat in a booth in the back bar area and loved it! it was nice to be able to watch people walking outside on the streets while sitting by the windows, and watching the people at the bar. The manager was the one who booked my reservation, made sure to comfortably seat such a large party, and did it happily. So I came to pick up my sister in law , my brothers dear friend of over forty years passed . Test in peace. and they hosted a nice luncheon for after the service. It wasn't the best pizza I've had but it wasn't the worst either. It seemed very greasy and the dough was too wet because of it.
