First time at Fellini's at the recommendation of a friend, and we are still friends : ) We ordered the 18" thin crust pizza for pickup. I went inside and looked around. The inside looks like something out of the late 80's, early 90's. That's not a compliment. Would probably not take my wife here for a nice Italian dinner. The pizza (4/5) was just north of $30. Crust was thinner, just the way my wife likes it. Sauce and spices are very nice, cheese is good, not too greasy. There are better pizzas in the NW suburbs, but this one is worth a try. This is a spectacular restaurant. I've been here 3 times and every time it's been great. First of all, the people working in the restaurant are all extremely busy, from the host who seats you quickly to the bus boy and the waiter/waitresses we've had, they have all been great. Solid knowledge of the menu, good recommendations, and make you feel welcome. Order the Rigatoni Fellini, it's 10/10. Pizza was decent, but I think the pasta dishes are where it's at here. Got there with a friend. Seated right away and immediately was asked for our order. We asked for a few minutes. Right then everything turned SLOW. The server had a party to take care of and we were basically ignored. The busboy hung out right behind our table leaning on the divider behind my friend while we were trying to eat. The food? Mediocre at best. $32 for braciole that had one beef roll and a cup of soup is ridiculous! $19 for pasta with sauce and a side of soup. Too pricey for us. CONCERN!! Fellini Restaurant is not taking the necessary steps to help protect your health by following all applicable laws and regulations concerning COVID-19 safety. Efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 are wearing masks and maintaining 6 feet of distance to prevent exposure to large droplets from an infected person's mouth or nose. Washing your hands for 20 seconds and cleaning frequently touched surfaces is also important. Fellini Restaurant has violated laws and CDC Guidelines - details below: Upon sitting down, I noticed that there were crumbs on our table. I alerted our server and he immediately had it cleaned. Why it was not cleaned prior to our sitting down was not explained. We wiped our hands with sanitizing wipes and proceeded to order. While we were waiting for our food, we noticed several diners not wearing masks walking throughout the restaurant. I was going to alert the owner, Michael Kautz, as he was visiting tables and speaking with diners. To our dismay, he was not wearing a mask and he was less than 6 feet away from customers while he was conversing with them. In addition, servers who were wearing masks were doing so incorrectly. Their masks were positioned under their nose, which violates the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. According to the CDC, to wear a mask safely, you need to cover both your nose and mouth. Most alarming is when I went to the bathroom - the bathroom that is used by both employees and customers. There was a soap dispenser without any soap. Instead, someone filled it with a cup of water. When I tried to dispense soap, I got only water with a few suds. I have attached a photo of the dispenser. Wearing masks and wearing them correctly, as well as good hygiene are things required during this unprecedented time. We are trying to support family restaurants; however, we did not feel safe at Fellini's and will not be returning. read more

As a small business owner, I go out of my way to support other small businesses. Not only monetarily, but also by recommending restaurants to my customers and my friends. I am one of those people that will always stay positive and be a repeat customer if the food is good but the experience is great! Alternatively, if the food is amazing and the customer service is bad, I will never return. Well beware, I have never had such terrible customer service before, and I didn't even step foot in the restaurant! I placed a delivery order on the TOAST Takeout app, which was set to deliver to my area (otherwise it would not have let me place the order). I called 70 minutes after I placed the order and was told by the first person that the order was ready, but they were "going to call me" because they don't deliver to my area. I asked to speak to a manager, and when they got on the phone they said the order was indeed on the way, so I asked how long ago it left the restaurant. I was put on hold again and the owner then got on the phone and told me the order was still at the restaurant, and that they don't deliver to my area I (tried to) explain to him that I ordered on their platform and it allowed for delivery and no one reached out in the last 70 minutes to let us know that our food wasn't coming. He actually yelled at me, told me it's not coming, to order from somewhere else... and then hung up on me! Frankly, in this day and age when things are always so difficult for the food service industry, all we really have is how we treat people. Again, because I am a small business owner, I am aware of the impact of a bad review, but I work my butt off to treat people with kindness and respect, and I don't believe in supporting people who are rude, nasty and won't even entertain a conversation or offer a solution to a problem. Based on other reviews I have now read on this site I realize I am not the only person they treat this way and I don't understand how a business like this can keep its doors open. I don't believe "the customer is always right" frankly, sometimes we are wrong, but in this case we didn't even get our food and were treated like total garbage. My review is via Uber Eats. The restaurant was showing open via the app and the order was placed. My order was confirmed via the app, my card was charged and then I get a voicemail from the restaurant, "We got your order too late. The restaurant is closed. Goodbye." Seriously? Terrible customer service. Uber Eats will refund my order but the communication between the app and the restaurant needs improvement. Also, based on the VM left, and the fact that I called back one minute later (if not 30 seconds), and no one picked up -- when I know someone was there, doesn't say much about your customer service. Someone from restaurant called back about 30 min later, told me they are not suppose to talk to me but are cancelling order because they didn't have an appetizer that I ordered. I call BS, they would not substitute, would not accommodate in any way. Stopped by this place shortly before they were scheduled to close. The server was so friendly and welcoming and happy to serve us. Had some drinks and the minestrone soup. It was so good! I posted a review yesterday but somehow it is not on Yelp today, so I am re-posting. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. They gave me the wrong sauce on my pasta. Then when I called to tell them, the manager basically called me a liar. She said that the chef said that he put the correct sauce on, but I assure you, it was the wrong sauce. The manager then said that they would deliver me a replacement meal, and she asked me to return my original meal so that she could see what sauce was on it. Many times lately, restaurants have messed up my order, but I have NEVER experienced the hard time that this manager gave me. I am never ordering from this restaurant again. read more

My grandmother-in-law celebrated a big birthday last week and the whole family decided to come here. They're Italian and love to eat traditional Italian foods; apparently, the last time they were here was in 1987 (what!?) so they thought it would be fun to come here. Aside from the additions of a couple flat-screen televisions and increased prices, I don't think this place has changed since 1987! Dim lighting accompanies mirrored walls and outdated decor. The place is trying to come off as slightly upscale, but the rinky-dinky chairs and paper-covered tables confuses the ambience. But the menu -- holy cow, everything was unexpectedly expensive - like Olive Garden! It wasn't over-the-top but definitely not what I expected from this little place. I wasn't that hungry, so I ended up ordering angel hair pasta with marinara sauce. (The salad selection was terrible.) We had some breads and olive oil on the table, which I snacked on. It wasn't that amazing. Our dinners arrived within a reasonable time; I was surprised at how huge the portions were while others were too small. Yet, I was disappointed. I took a few bites and just wasn't feeling it. The food was kind of flavorless. Apparently my meal wasn't the only one -- most of the family didn't like their meals. Grandma was very unhappy with hers. I ended up taking mine home and trying to force it down as lunch leftovers a few days later. I was pretty upset that we had to throw our money away on sub-par food. I think everyone that eats here has been a regular since 1987 (one older woman was falling asleep while dining at her table alone!) or tricked into dining here. First time here and it did not disappoint. I only got apps and a caprese salad so I'm already thinking about my next trip. For apps I got oysters and arancini. The food was sooo delicious. I would go for the bread basket alone. Our server Cletus could not of been nicer. After we were done eating, a band was ready to start and he said we could stay and listen even tho we were done. Fellini is definitely a hidden gem! After numerous attempt of seeking for an authentic Italian restaurant, I'm glad we decided to stop by here. Their baked clams, grilled calamari, and oyster Rockefeller were perfectly seasoned. The boyfriend opted for the veal Fellini in which he absolutely love & he is quite a picky eater. I ordered the seared scallops & was very impress with the generous portion of the scallop that was cooked to perfection. I recently had them cater a Holiday Party @ Home. The Toasted Ravoli was very good. The Rice Balls were also good considering I have never even heard of "Rice Balls". The Italian Sausage with red Sauce was awesome. Probably the best Sausage with red sauce I have ever had. The bruschetta was out of this world with lots of toppings. Best bruschetta I have ever had. I ordered chicken Alfredo which is almost 16.00 to me thats insane but I figured it would be amazing, so when I got the food it was bland nothing wow about it..to be honest I wanted to go home and make my own chicken Alfredo because mine had more flavor. UPDATE: I'm glad it's on your menu now, but it wasn't then, and we both know that's true. I used to really like this place until I ordered the Braciole on special one night. It had egg in it. While it tasted good I asked to see the owner to make him aware that some people are allergic to eggs and it needs to be stated somewhere on the menu that the dish contained eggs since some people would have no idea there were eggs in it. I'm 100% Italian and my mother never put eggs in her braciole and my grandson who is allergic to eggs, would be in the E.R. if he ate even a little bit of that meal. The reaction of the owner was unacceptable! He shrugged and said, "Well a lot of Italian dishes have eggs in it!" I guess he doesn't care until someone sues him, then I'll bet he'll care a lot about it. Not good - tonight. We made reservations, but waited 45 minutes in the lobby. Once we were seated we waited 20 minutes to put in a drink order. 10 to 15 mibutes to get tge drinks. They pumped us full of bread... the waitress was busting her ass in the dining room. I think she was over matched by the tables. The owner visited our table two times, but wasn't helpful. He could have bought a round of drinks while he was apologizing for crappy performance, but he mumbled incomprehensible drabble... not impressed. The food tasted good, but I could have done without the beard hair in my pizza. On a bright note, the bar tender tried her best to cover table bussing (blonde foreign girl)... because our table was a mess of dishes.... I dropped $80 there and left .
