Sausage and bacon gluten free thin crust

5 stars isn't enough! Thank you Tortorice's for continuing to make the best thin crust Italian pizza in Illinois. Been a long time customer. Went back today and grabbed 3 pizzas while heading back to the city. Get this when I got home (70 minute drive) the pizza was still hot! And I don't like cold pizza. Not only that I got gluten free! Haha. Sausage is real Italian sausage, the cheese is perfect with rich taste and perfect amount of sauce. You are making a mistake if you pick another pizza spot. 10 stars minimum.

    Deep dish with caramelized crust

This a small little pizza shop in Arlington Heights. There seemed to be frequent in and out traffic from carry out orders. There is a bell to ring at the counter when you walk in if no one is there. Tortorice's is best suited for carry out because there is not much room in the inside. I ordered a cheese and mushroom deep dish caramelized crust pizza which took ~ 40 minutes to make. Whew, my pizza was finally ready. It was not pretty, looked more of a hot greasy mess and a bit smashed in on the left side. Let me tell you though, this was one thick and deliciously gooey pie! Uuh, the crust looks burnt up but it was savory, slightly salty, and super yummy. Despite how satisfying this pizza was, this is not something you can eat frequently and expect to be healthy! I went back a couple of weeks later and tried the thin crust. Unfortunately, I didn't like it and deep dish is the way to go for me.

Great pizza. Ordered half vegetable half cheese. The crust was a bit on the chewy side but everyone liked it. Will be back.

The restaurant is part of a mixed-use building with apartments. Note that there are several spots in the apartment lot reserved for Coco and Maple guests, which is key as it is situated towards the end of the downtown area. Whereas Coco and Blu is more cozy, this is definitely leaning more industrial and modern. They retain a similar eclectic vibe with wallpaper and mismatched furniture. Orders are placed at the counter, and this time around we went for avocado toast and a Nutella strawberry toast for my kids. Both delightful! Other fan favorites for us include the quiche, matcha lattes, and espresso and tonic.

When we got there, I was a little surprised to see there were already people there seated and having coffee and breakfast. Luckily got there early enough so that I did find some street parking although in this particular area street parking is not that common but there are some lots also. The place is very cute very large high ceilings. The furniture is so cute and a mix. The two girls who are working behind the counter that day were so patient and very friendly. While it was a nice day out, I will say I wish they air conditioning was a little bit better because they do at least keep the doors closed. There is seating outside however we chose to sit inside to get and stay cool. There's a quite a variety of seating options from couches and different chairs and communal tables or separate single tables We did each order a different latte for the bucket. The traditional quiche was absolutely delicious and brought out heated and warm. The plates are so super cute too with all of the floral feminine touches. While all the other reviews do state that this is pricey I will agree this is pricey for a coffee shop that doesn't serve a full meal. But I will say that I do support local small business so I'm OK with this. But how often will I come here knowing that the prices are quite high is probably maybe a few times a year at best I hope the menu continues to evolve and grow. I would definitely come back, but this is for sure. A treat not an everyday normal routine.

There's also discrepancy in their menu and what they actually have available as it seems they also display items for the the cafe next door. We happened to arrive during happy hour so some menu items were discounted. They also have a complimentary salad bar. We ordered chicken karaage, potstickers, salmon avocado sushi, and I had the katsu sandwich. All the food items we ordered came separately over a span of 20+ minutes, with the sandwich arriving last and cold. Not only did the sandwich come on a cold sourdough bread, the meat also had an unusual texture and so I ended up throwing it out. The other items we ordered were lacking in flavor. The chicken karaage was prepared well but it had no flavor. I'm regret spending money at this establishment.

So we got out of the car and saw someone pull up in front of the restaurant and jump out at 11:59. As soon as the door was unlocked at 12pm, this customer went in, and a few others after them. This is a small joint, and it was already half full by the time we ordered, then sat down (they told us the table at which to sit). I didn't know, but asked, and found out that a salad bar and miso soup are also included. The salad bar was pretty decent, with fresh vegs. They even had French fried onions (my guilty pleasure) and a very good House dressing (ginger vinaigrette). The portions are enormous. The couple next to us got ramen, and it was practically overflowing. We ordered takoyaki (too much food, we didn't need). I had the Pork Katsu bowl and my companion had a Katsu curry. I wished I had ordered the curry -- it looked dark and rich and thick like pudding (not like a boxed curry). They also gave us a bonus piece of chicken karaage which was so large and crispy. I think I'll get the curry next time, or the ramen. We originally came because we were going to get a karaage sando, but get the curry.

It came as a great recommendation! We didn't have it for a while since we live the low-carb life but were thrilled to learn they do a "sub in a tub". I love their tuna salad/sub. Their bread is soft, back when I could eat it. They don't overfill it with mayo either and add some mild peppers or hot on request. I like that they don't have onions at the deli so it doesn't overpower everything else. My husband typically loves the club. They rolled a generous amount into a container and I used scissors to quickly and easily cut it. It was a perfect lunch and I have enough for another tomorrow!
