Sorry we're not Armenian buddy, learn some manners and how to treat customers with respect. Shame on the owner/manager for hiring this idiot with poor skills. He shouldn't even be on the floor around people. Great local market with lots of selection and many quirks! Snag good items when you see them, they may not restock the same brands later once they sell out! This includes meat and cheese in the deli too! The produce is really nice and fresh and has flavor. Great selection of fruit and seasonal tropical fruit. read more

This place is amazing. Called them on a Friday for a big catering order. Picked it up Saturday and it was delicious, swift, and perfect. Everything was delicious. We got the party package #1 and #2. Came with enough food to feed a party of 20 and more. We have leftovers that we will be enjoying today as well. I love this market! Every week or so I stock up on mediterranean salads, cheese, crackers, jams and fresh produce. The prices beat Ralphs on nearly everything. The exact same goat cheese that sells at Ralphs for $13/jar is only $8/jar here. Of course, they don't sell certain brand name items and a few things can be found cheaper at Trader Joe's, so this is one of 3 markets I visit on my grocery circuit, but it's a gem. read more

I live nearby and I shop here whenever I'm in a hurry or I've been cooking the same things too often and need some inspiration. The produce department is small, but well-stocked and they beat the prices of the supermarket down the street. Cheese and yogurt selections are awesome, and they've got a freezer full of pastries and dumplings you can take home and cook. The best part for me, though, is their selection of European brands and snacks. Definitely worth the trip. read more

I used to come to this store when it was much smaller. It's great they expanded for their meat and wine department. I like their prices. They are much cheaper than your average grocery store. Just don't care for the isles, very narrow. The selection of meat is great. With the exception of the already marinated meats. Very salty. A few months ago, I called the store and ordered a certain type of cut, that was pre-marinated. I specified the cut, and told him I wanted to put them on skewers. I even said I wanted 15 pounds ready to go. I was rushing, and wanted to pick it up right after work. I was very disappointed for multiple reasons: They had the bag ready, but it was 17 pounds. 2 pounds more then what I asked for. It would of taken time to have him re-weight them, or just taking 2 pounds out of it. So, I just took it all. Additionally, the cut was okay, but approx 2 pounds of that meat was not the cut I wanted, not even possible to place them on skewers. Plus, it was super salty. What a disappointment. I ordered almost 20lbs worth and it was ready on time and exceeded my expectations. I also ordered side dishes of hummus, beet salad, and muhammara dip. Everything was great. The service was spot on! What an amazing local treasure! A friend introduced me to this wonderful, family-run market. I found all sorts of specialty food in the shop, along with a fantastic roasting tin, delicious smoked salmon, and fantastic craft lettuces that added a bit of wow to my salad. The house made muhammara and hummus were out of this world, and the packaged dried fruits and nuts put the supermarket selection (not to mention prices...) to shame. Don't miss the breads in the back room. I got some multi-seeded flatbread crisps that are to die for. Worth a special trip, even if you aren't lucky enough to live in the neighborhood. read more

Love this market. I can't stand to go to the usual chain supermarkets. Armens helps us stay away from the soul sucking fluorescents of Von's and Ralph's. Sure we have to hit Trader Joes and occasionally Target to get all we need but it all works out. Armens has GREAT produce, unique ethnic food and many other fantastic treats. I've started using their propane exchange too! Give them a try. Get a Danish at Patticakes and a coffee and go get some delicious tomatoes or pomegranates or whatever... If I could convince the owners to carry carne asada and chips and salsa I think they'd be overrun with business. I know I know it's not their thing but hey it's a melting pot out there. read more

Stopped by yesterday to pick up items for a birthday dinner. I purchased the tabouli, hummus, and couscous salad in the deli case. All were fresh and delicious! From the butcher department, I purchased the steak and chicken kabobs. Pitas and fresh matnakash rounded out our meal. Everything got rave reviews! I can not wait to shop at Armen Market again. I love how they have great variety and unique products (like their Armenian influenced items). The fresh hummus, baba ganous etc. is made on site and soooo good! You can definitely taste the fresh-ness that you won't find at grocery stores with those made with all the extra additives. Cashiers are always friendly and helpful. read more

It was a pleasure today to shop at Armen, I came in for one item (whole wheat pita) and left with two full bags of groceries, including: bulgur, which they have in several different grinds; capsules for Nespresso machine from an Italian brand I had never seen before, and they're organic!; avocados at good price; milk just because...; British biscuits in the dark chocolate variety, thank you!; incredible-looking Greek spinach and greens tart, frozen; a baby Illy canned mocha; raspberries to balance out those cookies; tahini, from a wide selection; and hummus. I heard so much about this market being cheap and fresh from Yelp and my friends. After my first visit, I was little disappointed. I got 3 lbs of ground beef Lula, 1 lbs of mortadella with garlic and pistachio, some fresh fruits. Well, they were all under $30 bucks - cheap for sure. But the Lula was extremely fatty and SALTY. Mortadella was too salty too. Something tells me that it has been sitting on the shelf for a long period of time. Fruits were good, only except those "special" priced raspberry they sold at the counter were mostly bad from the inside. I understand with local smaller markets, its often a "hit & miss." But I won't mind give another try... just not any time soon. read more

You can find almost everything you need from an Armenian Grocery store right here. The fruits and vegetables are fresh and well displayed. Three areas that can use some improvements: 1- The aisles are quite narrow and it is very easy to bump into people and workers. 2-Not all employees are waring masks properly. 3- There is no plexiglass at the very tight checkout counter to protect staff and shoppers. The management should do better to protect their staff and customers. I would have given this store more stars but I think they should do better on safety. read more

Great market for cockroaches! I bought a can of olive oil, brought it home, popped the cap, and saw the corpses of three dead baby cockroaches fall out. I took it back to the store, and the manager, Mike Gharibi (assuming that's his real name) stole my can of cockroach-laden olive oil, and refused to refund me. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. I came to this market to buy some basturma and other items. I usually shop elsewhere, but thought I would give this place a try. Once I came home, I realized I was charged for some sort of chocolate instead of Persian cucumbers. The result was an overcharge of over $33. To make matters worse, I had to throw away $20 worth of basturma because it smelled and tasted like fish. I definitely won't be back. Go to Superking if you want basturma or anything else. The deli department workers are very nasty and taste the deli while helping customers. Checking out is very uncomfortable and customers don't know where lines are.
