Came here for lunch on a Wednesday at 12. It was a little too early for happy hour, which is from 3-8 PM. Nonetheless, my brother and my dad got the Armonie Amber beer which is special to the restaurant. They were more than satisfied with their choice. The menu has a variety of options, including regular pies, deep dishes, calzones, rolls, and pastas. We ordered the grandma pie which is a big square pie with fresh mozz and tomato. We asked for fresh basil on top and they accommodated that. The food took 30 minutes to come, despite there only being a few customers. I would say the wait was worth it though! Here I am with an update of my original review. Previously, I gave Armonie Pizza Bistro a 3 star rating because of a few issues. I've bumped it up to 5 stars. I've been able to check out most of my personal gripes. I will say this--it's rare when owners read a Yelp review and hear what is being said. On a fairly recent visit, the owners of Armonie, humorously quoted a few of my Yelp observations during a conversation. "What?? You READ that?" Apparently so. And two things happened: 1) the food I've ordered has gotten better each time I have eaten there--more flavorful and savory. My mouth is very happy. 2) "Dad," the co-owner, thanked me for my honesty. Sincerely. Try the Brussels Sprout pizza with ricotta and mozzarella--insanely delicious. Thinly sliced Brussels sprouts sauteed with garlic then baked on the white pie. Whoda thunk it? If you need to get your meat on they will add bacon. I also tried the Double Chocolate Mousse pastry which comes from their own bakery. Just the right amount of light pastry balanced with a great chocolate mousse and covered with chocolate ganache. Not too sweet, not heavy. Perfection! A special dish that I requested, was a kicked-up version of their pasta of your choice with vodka sauce. I asked for angel hair pasta (or linguini when they are out) and grilled artichoke hearts. Three words: O. M. G. This needs to be added to the menu-immediately. Just tell them you want Bruce's Vodka Sauce pasta with grilled artichoke hearts. Really. The new wait staff is great, particularly Christabella. (I hope I spelled her name correctly.) The happiest waitress in America! So attentive, sweet and as they say "easy on the eyes." I am a regular at Armonie because the food is good, the price is right, the owners are nice, and the food always gets a little bit better. East Harlem has been waiting for Armonie. This is a mom and pop restaurant that I've been meaning to try for some time. I have to say that I was completely underwhelmed by the whole experience. I usually like to go to mom and pop restaurants because of the friendly owners that make the experience cozy and personal. I dont know if the people that I interacted with today were the owners but I can only describe them as cold and off-putting. I wanted to sample several things off the menu so I placed a to-go order for the pasta, pizza, salad and dessert. I asked several questions about the menu and was less than impressed by the unhelpful answers I received from the man and woman behind the counter. After placing the order, I noticed on the front of the menu there was an advertisement for 20% off pick up orders. When I mentioned this to the woman who took my order, she said that it was only for phone call orders. What's the difference if I place the order in person or over the phone as long as it is a pick up order? The advertisement specifically states "not valid for online orders" but does not mention that the order must be placed over the phone. When I mention this, the woman had no answer other than "that's our policy." One thing I hate to feel is that an establishment is trying to pull a fast one on me. Don't make an advertisement if it is not accurate. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I should have just left and told them to forget about the order but I didn't want to cause an even bigger scene since they already made the food. This is my last time ordering from this establishment. They definitely need a lesson on customer service. In regard to their food, their margherita pizza was overall bland. The baked ziti was nothing to write about. The caesar salad did not have fresh green romaine. The tiramisu was pretty mediocre as well. What a waste of $30. This is a great spot. They serve deep-dish pizza -- as well as thin-curst -- which is not easy to find in the City. They have speciality pizzas, like lasagna and chicken alfredo, that are fantastic. The couple that owns the business is extremely friendly as is every waitress I've encountered. Just be aware that it can sometimes take awhile before the food comes out of the kitchen, especially if they have a lot of delivery orders. In that case, just order a few beers or glasses of whine and watch the people pass on Park Avenue. I am so happy to have this restaurant in my neighborhood. read more

Avoid- Bummer. I was excited to try this place. It has decent reviews and I was down for some deep dish pizza. Alas, what I got was the exact same thickness as all other regular New York pizza, and it was hard, and tasted almost like cardboard. Both Domino's and Papa John's are better. The delivery took an hour and a half, which I accepted as it was a Friday, but to get a regular pizza when I ordered deep dish (but yes I called and asked they sent me a deep dish pizza so their deep dish just isn't) and to have it taste like crap too. This time I needed a supplemental dish for Christmas dinner so I ordered a half portion of the Chicken Francaise, and hoped for the best. Well, I did get the best! The chicken was moist and tender, and I followed the instructions from the chef to heat it up and it worked perfectly. I ordered this last minute and they were very accommodating. The way to evaluate good pizza is to examine it on four very important factors: 1. The crust. Obviously, it needs to be sturdy enough to hold sauce, cheese and toppings. If it flops over immediately, you have lost a point. The crust from Armonie's is crisp where it should be crisp and soft and chewy in the middle. 2. The sauce. I don't care if you use canned tomatoes or fresh from the vine as long as you do a good job with it. Armonie's has a nice, powerful oregano mixed in, with an authentic tomato taste. It isn't too thick, it isn't too thin. 3. The cheese. If you have to pat the top of your pizza with a napkin, then they aren't using real cheese. Armonie's cheese is melted perfectly. 4. The refrigerator. I hate doing it, but if you have leftovers, you have to refrigerate them. And, rarely does pizza successfully sideswipe this one. Usually it's the cheese (becoming clotted with oil and disgusting) or the crust (becoming soggy or break-a-tooth hard) that fails us. With Armonie, it was perfectly fine for breakfast/lunch the next day. Cold pizza should taste different than hot pizza (obviously), but it should retain those flavors, just exposed in different ways. I ordered from Armonie last night after seeing it on Seamless. I rarely venture into East Harlem and East Harlem restaurants rarely deliver to me (even though I am only on Lenox). I will order more. When I have friends over, it's worth it to get those personal pies. They're perfectly priced. I looked hard for a reason to give them a 4-star review because I actually DO grade on a rough scale, but they were fast with the delivery (he was extremely friendly) and the food was well worth what I paid for it. Went to this place based on Yelp reviews, and I have to say, I have no idea if most of the people giving this place high ratings have eaten pizza before. We had the thin crust pizza, and while it was thin, it was comparable to a cracker or wafer - it didn't add any character or superior texture. The sauce was the definition of neutral - not sweet, not savory or layered or even tart. It just existed. The cheese was a phantom - again, flavorless and content to just be. Ultimately, this was the most chill pizza I have ever encountered. If you want something that is technically pizza, sure, go here. But it's not particularly good tasting. If you want that, you should probably go somewhere else. On the other hand, it was spacious and clean, and the staff were very nice. read more

This is a great little spot! My friend and I saw this place and decided to give it a try since I was in the mood for some carbs. The restaurant/bar is small but the tables are spaced out so it doesn't feel like you're on top of each other. I decided to go with the eggplant rolletini since I've never had this dish before and the description made it seem really good. Our waitress brought us some bread while we waited for our food, omg the bread was soo good! I think I ate most of the bread and only let my friend have one piece. Our very nice waitress asked if we wanted more bread when our food arrived and I eagerly said yes! I was very happy with my eggplant dish, it was seasoned well and the accompanying sauce on the pasta tasted very fresh and flavorful. If you're into tomatoes then you will love the marinara sauce from here. I was pretty full after eating so much bread that I was only able to eat about half of my meal. I took the rest with me and I'm looking forward to eating it for breakfast tomorrow. I thought the prices here were very reasonable especially considering the great quality. Food never arrived, no phone call was made to let me know it would be late or not coming. Tried calling restaurant numerous times, seems they closed. Armonie is my go-to spot for personal pizzas (sausage and extra, extra onions!) and pasta (usually with vodka sauce and chicken). The food is fresh and prices reasonable. They are a welcomed addition to the neighborhood. The staff are friendly and uber-accommodating. I call about 15 minutes ahead to put in my order when I am crunched for time on a lunch hour. When I arrive, the staff have started the order and a table is reserved and set-up for my party of 3 or 4. I am a regular of Armonie, but never wrote a review here before. But, I am compelled to let the world know how great they are due to the racist claims in the 6/17/14 review by Victoria R. I am African American and bring in friends and co-workers of various ethnic backgrounds and have always been treated with more than courtesy. The staff actually make me feel like family when I come in. They always ask how my meal is and really want to know so they can improve whatever the issue is, such as more onions on my pizza. And in terms of the staff appearance, they are neatly dressed, attentive, friendly and professional. I am giving Armonie 4.5 stars because they are great.
