Service was not as good as it should have been considering our party of 9 was one of maybe 7 parties in the restaurant. Ordered two appetizers- both were good. Waited quite a while for dinners to. Only to have only 8 orders arrive--- Granddaughter #2's order was not turned in with the rest! Eventually she did get served. Pizzas were good. Both orders of Shrimp pesto had excessive oil.... child's marinara penne was ok but don't understand why it came less garlic bread. All in all, this is not on my list to go to again. read more

Stopped in for Indy burger week. First time visiting. The restaurant is very large inside and welcoming. My service was extremely prompt. The burger I ordered came out exceptionally fast and tasted wonderful. I also saw a lot of pizzas being served and can not wait to try those! They also have outdoor seating as well. I love this place. Great salads and pizza. I thought I'd try something different. My wife got me a to go order of Stromboli and a side of fruit. Their fruit side is excellent. I took one bite of the Stromboli and my mouth was on fire. They need to tell customers that they put lots of red pepper corns on the sandwich. I couldn't eat it. My wife tried it and had the same reaction. Finally my 18 year old son came home. He ate the rest but assured me it was very hot. I was craving good pizza and I found it! We ordered the Rustica and Bbq chicken. Both were delicious and the Rustica may be my new fave! The barbecue sauce is on the sweeter side but still yummy and it was loaded with cheeses. As our waitress approached our table for the first time, instead of asking me in a normal tone, if I minded if she moved my walker away from the table, She very aggressively said, "this can't stay here!!!" We've gone to Arni's for 30 years and the food has always been good. Service over the last few years has not been good. Even before Covid it became very slow. Not enough help ever. Portions on sandwich got smaller just like other reviewers have said. I still order the gut buster even though it's not on the menu at 96th street location. Don't make food smaller, change the price it's worth it!! Arni's junior salad the same. Great salad but it's smaller. Cheese bread is awesome and love the marinara, chunky. Mozzarella sticks had an onion flavor probably from cooking in the same oil as onion rings. 5/2019 Everything was good except for the meat wrapper that we found in my mom's deli sandwich. Although we brought it to our server's attention, nothing was done to make it right, except that the chef did send out an apology through her, which we appreciated. The only things that saved this experience were the rest of the food, which was delicious, and our server, who was attentive and friendly the whole time. All other times I have been here have been fine, so we will continue to come, but I do hope that the kitchen and front of the house work better to make sure customers have the best experience possible. read more

I received the same fast, efficient service as my previous visits. I love their Southern Fried Chicken Salad, and often order it as takeout. It comes with garlic bread and is fresh and filling. This is the 3rd time we have gotten Arni's pizza and this time the pizza is good. The first time we ordered was the best by far when we ordered the portobello mushroom pizza that I don't see on the menu anymore. The 2nd time we ordered we asked for the same thing but they said they discontinued it and the girl on the phone said she could make it but they would have to substitute button mushrooms instead and we said that would be ok. When we got home and tried it we were disappointed to say the least. I understand there was a different type of mushroom used the 2nd time but other than that the pizza was so bland compared to the first time. Not sure why exactly but we did order that one during lunch rather than dinner so maybe it was because of different kitchen staff? Anyways this third time is not as good as the first but the pizza is pretty good in my opinion. Would honestly rank it a 4/5 but didn't want to mess up Arni's rating on here. Their side door for picking up carry out orders is very convenient especially considering we live literally next door, and the hostess at the cash register was very professional, kind and helpful. We attend Museum by Moonlight at the Indianapolis Children's museum every year and Arni's caters the event. The spicy Korean meatballs and white cheddar mac and cheese are to die for so we decided to actually come to the restaurant and try something new. The stuffed mushroom appetizer was amazing as was the Thai chicken flatbread was awesome. Also the staff was very attentive - our drinks were always filled. The managers were serving and checking on guests which was very refreshing! We will continue to visit and are looking forward to the Brownsburg location opening! read more

Finally decided to try Arni's for lunch last weekend. So the pizza here is good, but very different than any pizza I've ever had. It has a very thin (almost cracker-like) crust. The toppings, pepperoni and sausage, were minced which sounds weird, but was actually ok. Every once in a while I get a craving for one of those individual frozen pizzas from the store and that is exactly what it reminded me of. Service was great. read more

We went here during wing week and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the wings. I got boneless wings and they had a ton of meet, not like most places that give you a ton of breading with barely any meet. The taste and quality was also very good. They have a variety of sauces, like 5-7, but the chipotle BBQ was very good and not very spicy, which is what I like! The restaurant as a whole is what you would expect of a typical American restaurant. It was clean and nicely decorated, but didn't really have a specific theme associated with the restaurant. The food options are what you would as normal bar food, but seemed to have good quality. Our server was nice, but not overly nice or enthusiastic. She was of average speed, but our orders where correct without errors, which it always high up on my priorities. read more

Tonight was definitely not their best effort. When we arrived and asked to sit outside they said it was busy outside, we could see only about half the tables were occupied. The waitress walked by several times and it was not until we called her that she acknowledged us. The pizza and my beer both took a long time to come out. I don't usually write reviews but I wanted to remark on our great lunch today at Arni's on 96th. It was a covid reunion lunch with my spouse and another couple. We were greeted by Gina who could not have been anymore warm, welcoming and happy to see us. Then our waitress Erica showed up and she too was so genuine and hospitable. I asked her if I could get the pepperoni/ sausage Stromboli called the gut buster even though it's not on the menu? She said yes but I had totally forgotten that it came with bbq sauce (yuck) and that I had always subbed for pizza sauce. The food arrived looking hot and tasty until I took my first bite and realized my bbq mistake. Erica checked back, I told the story, and she said: May we bring you another one? Of course I said no because it was my fault, but she got big points for asking me so pleasantly and immediately. We had the best time catching up with friends and our server showed us no rush to leave once lunch was over. As we were finally leaving I stopped to chat with Gina again at the front desk ( she was that nice!) So to recap I would say Good Job, Arni's. Good food, good people, good service, good time. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers for recommending this hidden gem off of 96th St.. I'm a sucker for pizza- to the point that I probably need to go into rehab for my food addiction. In all serious though, I was impressed by the experience at Arni's. We were greeted by the hostess and seated in a large booth that could hold five or six easily. There's something about a booth I like. Maybe because it feel like you're separated from the rest of the diners. I don't know, but this along with the contemporary casual atmosphere was good. Our server Nancy was excellent. She was informative, timely, and an asset to the restaurant. In fact, I would ask for her again the next time I'm there. We started off with the spinach nachos. They were loaded with cheese, spinach dip, tomatoes, mushrooms, and onions. Not bad at all for a starter. Then the pizza and salads came. A thin crust topped with mushrooms, marinated chicken, and red peppers on top of a good amount of mozzarella. Loved it. Chewy, not too crispy, and at $10 off with a Yelp check-in you can't go wrong. We walked out of there with leftovers for later. Expansive menu with lots of homemade choices make this establishment a new favorite. Don't forget to check-in to get the deal. They love Yelpers! In fact, there's a TV ad that plays in the dining room encouraging people to check-in. That's one smart business! read more

As you can see from my previous posts, I loved Arni's ... that is until today. Today, my husband and I went to Arni's to order pizza and wings and needless to say, based on my 1-star update, we received horrible customer service from the manager. We ordered wings as an appetizer and the quality was poor. The chicken was barely cooked throughout and the sauces were not good. Yet and still we decided to stay put because their pizza usually never disappoints and we wanted to support since we know some businesses have suffered since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Upon ordering we informed our waitress that we had a coupon for a 14" inch pizza up to 5 toppings for $12. We received this coupon through yelp after checking in during a previous visit. A few minutes after they brought our subpar chicken wings to the table, the manager comes to our table and asks us to see the coupon. I open up my yelp app and show him the coupon. He then proceeds to tell us that our coupon is not real because Arni's emails their coupons. I informed him that this was generated through yelp after I had checked in following a previous visit. He then reiterated that it is not a real coupon and tells us that yelp can just add coupons without a restaurant's consent and that he will not be accepting the coupon. The part that was most upsetting was not even the fact that he was not accepting the coupon; it was his lack of tact during the delivery of information. He was snarky and rude ! After years of supporting this business, we will NOT be returning. I have come many of times and brought other friends and family members to support, but never again. read more

I had a ridiculous craving for Arni's, since my roommate from Purdue and I now live in the Indy area. We didn't have time to sit-in and eat because we had our puppy with us. Nevertheless, we had to have something to-go. So we both decided to have the Arni's Sr. Salad w/ Ranch (of course!). We decided against pizza because it would have gotten cold by the time we got home. Anyways, this location is very different from the Lafayette ones. Much more "swanky" and upscale. Maybe that's why the price was so exorbitant. It was a little over $20 for our salads. I guess it was worth it, since it's probably my favorite "meal" salad because everything goes together perfectly. It's nice that that they have a carry-out window that has a separate entrance near the bar. I hope to return in the near future to have a pizza with friends again. read more

Waited so long for anyone to take my order I contemplated just getting up and leaving when my server arrived. I ordered soup and salad. Took way too long.
