I have only good thigns to say about this office. The entire staff, Dr. Cutler, Jan, Kelli and Kathy all genuinely care about their patients. Each of them do an excelletn job at making the patient feel comfortable and confident about the work they are about to have done. After reading the horribly negative review that was posted prior, I feel that this woman took Dr' Cutler's "lecture" extremely wrong. My entire family has gone here and they all have had the same New patient exam done. When you book a new patient exam you will first meet Jan, the RDA for the office. She will greet with a smile and loves to learn more about her patients. She will take a full set of x-rays and then she will introduce you to Dr. Cutler. Being the excellent dentist that he is, he will perform an extensive exam to make sure he covers every aspect of your oral health taking you on a "tour" using an intra-oral camera of each of your teeth so you can see first hand what your working with. He takes the time to chart and examine your entire mouth and not just your teeth to check for oral cancer or any other sores or infections. After your New Patient exam is complete, Kathy, the front office manager, will assist you in making your next appointment. At your second visit, Dr. Cutler will sit down with you individually and really take the time to go over what he found in your exam. I feel that Dr. Cutler really wants to take the time to sit down with each patient so they can be educated and feel free to ask any and all questions about your oral health. After reviewing what he has found, good or bad, he will then present to you a "treatment plan". This treatment plan consists of multiple treatment plans, usually ranging in costs and cosmetics. I was always told that "these are all your options and you can choose to do all, some or none of what we are showing you. We just want you to know all your dental options." One other thing I think is awesome for patients during this treatment plan proposal is that during your new patient exam, Dr. Cutler will take a set of digital photos of your teeth so while you are sitting with him going over the treatment plan, he can visually point out on his computer what the tooth looks like and why something should be done to fix it rather than just having to "take his word for it" like so many of us have had to do with prior dentists. By doing all of this, I think Dr. Cutler works hard to establish trust and patient relationships. He is a dentist for life and not if your just wanting to bounce around from dentist to dentist. After you have gone over the treatment plans, usually Kathy will have treid to line you up to go straight in to meet Kelli, The Hygienist, for your first cleaning. Kelli has a very solid patient base so make sure to book those evening appointments in advance if you need them! (Since they are open later in the evenings on Monday and Tuesday. I always appreciate this since I can't always get time off work to go to the dentisit.) If Kelli was unavailable for a cleaning at the time you came in for your treatment plans, you will get down to business on your next appointment where you will definitely have a cleaning done and then move straight into an treatment options you have chosen. Overall, Dr. Cutler is an awesome dentist and would recommend (and have recommended him) to anybody! PS- Dr. Cutler is so good, I didn't even feel him give me the shot to numb me when I had my treament done! read more

Dr. Cutler and his staff are super knowledgeable, stay up-to-date with the latest dental technology, and are genuinely committed to serving their clients. They care about what happens to you and are as flexible as possible to be able to accommodate your life circumstances. Whether you're in need of regular dental check-ups or serious dental work, Dr. Cutler and staff are the best option. It's never pleasant to have someone drill around in your teeth, but he is so calm and gently explains what he is going to do next and why and what you should expect to feel, etc that the experience is about as stress free as it's going to get. You know exactly what's happening to your teeth and that you're in very competent hands. I've been going to this dentist for regular check-ups since I was a kid. Even though I live up north now, I still come back to Lakeside for my dentist visits because I trust Dr. Cutler, Kelli, and the rest of their staff so much. In July 2013, I had a root canal on one of my front teeth that was damaged in a bike accident. I was nervous about the procedure and wanted to make sure I understood it fully before I committed to it to know that it was necessary and know what to expect. Dr. Cutler was very patient and explained how the root in my tooth had been damaged by the impact of the fall and showed me x-rays of the root damage so I could see for myself. Then he explained step-by-step what he would do during the root canal and answered all of my questions without pressuring me so that I could make an informed decision about whether or not I wanted to have the procedure. I didn't have dental insurance at the time of my root canal, and the front desk staff at Dr. Cutler's office helped me set up a Care Credit account so I could spread my payments out over 12 months with 0% interest. So to recap, Dr. Cutler's practice is super knowledgeable, helpful, and affordable. Definitely recommended. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Cutler for 20 years and have NEVER been disappointed. He is very gentle and is always looking for the best interest for you, not himself. He takes amazing care of my kids to make sure they are comfortable which means the world to me that my kids like to go to the dentist. My entire family goes to Dr. Cutler from my Mom to my Sister to my husband. It is really unfortunate that a person comes into town and blasts one of our small town great dentist's on the internet. Krista you could have chalked it up to a life experience and moved on. There really wasn't a need to attack a persons business during this time when the economy is down and Dr. Cutler does nothing but go above and beyond to make sure he is going the best route to get your teeth to where they should be. Not to mention the staff is absolutley amazing and caring. The office is always imaculate! The cameras and technology are neat but most of all he makes sure you are happy. He even goes the extra mile by calling you at night to check on how you are doing. I have never met a dentist that did that. Krista, its great you take such great care of your teeth so I hope you stay with the other dentist office you seem to like in Arizona. We, here in Lakeside, like Dr.Cutler very much and would like him to continue doing exactly what he is doing especially my kids. It's really too bad that we have to hurt people like blasting them over the internet just to make ourselves feel better instead of thinking well maybe that wasn't the place for me. "I was 49 years of age and I had neglected my teeth for most of my life. Sure, I brushed in the morning but that was the only care I gave to them. I didn't ever floss nor did I go to see a dentist. One day the only filling I had from childhood had failed along with a big chunk of the molar. My neighbor recommended her dentist Dr. Cutler. Being a dentally uneducated patient, I figured that the dentist would just yank the rest of the tooth and that would be it. I couldn't have been more wrong. Dr. Cutler explained how important it is to have all of your teeth, especially your original ones, and how to keep them for the remainder of my soon to be senior years. He saved my broken tooth with a crown and then showed me what I needed to do to reverse the gum degeneration that would ultimately cause more tooth problems. Since that first visit three years ago with regularly scheduled visits, I have a full healthy mouth of all my original teeth with firm healthy gums. I'm not afraid of the dentist anymore!!! I used to dread going to the dentist. I had very bad experiences with them when I was a little kid. I used to cry literally every time I went up until I was 18 even!! I was seriously scared of going to the dentist. Thankfully, since I've been going to Dr. Cutler my perspective has completely changed. They don't call it "Gentle Dentistry" for nothing. Every time I'm there I feel comfortable. The staff is very nice and really cares about their patients. They remember me everytime I come in. I feel like a person and not just a patient. They even have fresh carnations in the office which adds a nice touch. As far as the dental work goes, Dr. Cutler is the best! He does everything he can to make your visit a good experience. He takes his time while numbing your mouth which makes it much less painful/scary. They always let me know what my insurance covers and what all of my options are. Another thing is that they don't nag at you for neglecting your teeth in the past like most places. They simply tell you what you can do now to take care of your teeth and stay healthy. I've been seing Dr. Cutler my entire life, and I can tell you that there is no better dentist in San Diego! His calm demeanor and warm smile will instantly put you at ease, and his professionalism is second to none. He is truly some sort of magician after you sit in his chair, since I never seem to feel any pain! I don't know how he does it, but every experience at his office is a great one! He knows a lot about teeth, and because he cares so much about your oral health he will not sugar coat things, he tells it like it is. I really appreciate this, and it makes me more confident to follow his advice. The only negative post on here seems to be someone who was either having a bad day or just is too hard to please. I have been a patient of Dr. Cutler for many years. I have been very pleased with the care I have received from him and his staff. He is very through and explains things in a way that the average person can understand. They have always been quick to address any concerns or in an emergency situation. I have had many different types of procedures done by Dr. Cutler and feel he does very good dentistry and he cares about his patients. After your appointment he will call to check and see how you are doing, I don't know of any other dentist or doctor that does that. He also has the best dental hygienist Kelly, she is friendly and never makes you feel bad if it has been awhile since your last cleaning. I love that she sends you home with a goodie bag of dental care items. My mother, daughter and I have been going to Dr. Cutler since 2010. We have found him and his staff to be friendly and very professionally. You do not feel that you are just another name, but a person who they know and care about. He calls himself the 'Gentle Dentist'. We have found this to be true. He could almost call himself the pain free dentist because he is very careful to consider his patients comfort. After any major procedure he or a member of his staff always call after a few hours to make sure that everything is going well. We have found his rates to be reasonable. Payment terms are available for those who need them. His office is located just off of Woodside Ave., and is easily accessible from surface streets of Highway 67. After not seeing a dentist for the better part of 20 years,despite the fact I'm a union member with dental coverage, I was forced to go to the dentist due to a lost filling and extreme pain. I was very happy with the way Dr. Cutler and his staff handled my situation. I ended up needing a cap on my tooth my first one ever, I always felt comfortable and relaxed in that office and I'm always treated very well. We (my husband 2 children and I) have been patients of Dr. Cutler for 30 years. I picked him because I really dislike going to the dentist and he advertised "gentle dentistry". It's TRUE. Dr. Cutler and his staff were very kind and professional. My first visit turned out to be the beginning of my badly needed root canal. Never had one before and hadn't been to a dentist in quite some time. Needless to say i was a bit nervous, but Dr. Cutler had a very soothing mannerism that made the procedure go quite flawlessly. Dr. Cutler was very informative and was able to keep my mind off the fact that he was drilling into my tooth...good anesthesia. No pain or discomfort and done quickly. I would go to the dentist once in a blue moon because I hated going so much. Finally since my husband had to have dental work I broke down and went to this office. I won't say I like going now, but I am more willing to go to my appointments. He has extremely nice staff and Dr Culter is so sweet. Dr Cutler is a terrific dentist, I've been seeing him and his staff for about five years, and every visit, I feel comfortable there, the staff is friendly, they do their best to work on teeth gently, and they are very knowledgable and professional. Recently, I had veneers put on my 4 top front teeth, it's a difficult procedure, but Dr. Cutler and his staff made it as easy as possible, and they gave me all the information I needed on how to care for them.
