I am so happy to have this local cafe near home. The food here are a little uncommon, yet they are delicious! My favorite brunch place prior was the Benedition, yet I must admit coming here more often due to price and atmosphere. Though this cafe gets packed on weekend, the table spreads are far enough to give each party their own enjoyment. I cannot complain about the service nor quality of food, as I have always been satisfied by the savory dishes with kind staff. This is a great brunch date spot or hangout with friends! A lot of people come here to eat, not just for coffee. I've come here a handful of times and the food and drinks are good! They don't skimp on portions and everything is flavorful. There have been a couple items that I thought were a bit salty, but that might just be for me individually. There is both indoor and outdoor seating! Just a heads up - you order at the front before you take a seat. They'll give you a number and they'll drop the food off to you. The mushroom benedict and salmon benedict are both solid. You also can't go wrong with an avocado toast. Their pastas are also great, I've tried the rich miso and basil pesto, but those were the items I thought were a bit salty. Stopped by for brunch after a cross-country meet at Mt Sac, and warmly greeted at the door. Staff was super helpful and friendly, walking us through weekend menu options. We ordered several toasts, a pasta, tea latte, coffee, and a tart. The space was tastefully decorated, lots of wood and warm but dim lighting. Food came out pretty quick, beverages took a while longer, but not an unreasonably long time. Food looked amazing, artfully garnished, and including very cool plates. Salmon was tasty, but poached egg was a bit overdone (yolk almost firm), and the toast itself was not crisp but instead chewy and really difficult to cut with the cute knife they provided. Ended up sawing away at the bread and completely destroying the appearance. Mushroom toast had same problem with toast, but scrambled eggs on it were very nicely prepared--really creamy--but under-seasoned IMO. Mushrooms were delicious. Miso pasta sauce was a bit bland, and though the mushrooms in it were good, we wished there were more of them. Ube tart was lovely, and interesting flavor. My daughter was turned off by it being warm and a bit chalky tasting, but I liked it. Dark roast coffee and black tea were fine but really nothing to write home about. Aroma is located in a strip mall of sorts, right along Valley Boulevard. Parking was plentiful when I visited on a Saturday afternoon. The surrounding area is very industrial, and this theme carried over to the interior design. I like how rustic yet refined the atmosphere was. You order at the counter first and they'll give you a number. Find an open table and they'll bring your dishes and drinks when they're ready. Besides coffee and tea, they also make pastas, toasts, rice bowls, salads, cakes, desserts, and other things to eat. Iced Brown Sugar Latte - refreshing and satisfying! A pleasant medium-bodied beverage that balances the coffee, milk, and syrup well. I would have liked more sweetness, but it's probably the perfect amount for most. Avocado Toast - great portions! My photo does not do this dish justice, I did not get a good angle. They slice one whole avocado, maybe even two? It was perfectly ripe and the soy reduction on top added a nice hint of sweetness to it. Underneath was a generous serving of fluffy scrambled eggs and a few fresh lettuce leaves. I'm never in this area, stopped here looking for a good pour over and ended up ordering brown butter miso pasta...it's so good! This place is unassuming and almost in what appears to be an industrial park. The pasta was SO good and the coffee was really solid. Beautiful little eatery with great service to boot. It's an order and seat yourself type of deal so be prepared if you want to come on a super busy day or time. always such good coffee and food. Consistency is great with the items I have had. My go to are their pour overs, lattes, and recently their seasonal banana einspanner. They are very generous with the portions, especially the avocado on the avocado toast. Staff are welcoming and friendly. My only criticism is the way they are setup to take orders. You can get stuck behind very slow groups and there is no space to wait so you get stuck against the door and are in the way of people coming and going. Some days I don't want to deal with the layout so I go elsewhere, which is a shame. Also, their chairs are very nice and elegant but they are not designed for anyone larger than a 115 woman. read more

I got a double matcha next time for a dollar extra and while it definitely made the matcha flavor more prominent It was a slightly bitter matcha so I had to compensate with extra syrup. Service is always good here. Everyone is super friendly. The place gets pretty packed so the best time to go would be off hours or earlier in the morning, like 9 am. After 9:30 the line starts to form, at least on a Sunday morning. Bathrooms have always been clean, which is super important to me! Place has cute decor and lots of seating. My ONLY negative comment about this place would be... it's kind of pricey... but hey the drinks and the food is all made in house, so you gotta respect that. I really enjoy this place. I finally made my way to try Aroma. I was excited to eat breakfast and get coffee before running errands. They are located in a shopping center with plenty of parking. This place seems to be very busy during the weekends. When I arrived, there was a line outside. I was able to order food within 10 minutes. The inside is beautiful with many tables. They also have outside seating. I ordered the fresh avocado toast and a black sesame latte with oat milk. After placing my order, the cashier said I could sit wherever I would like on the inside or the outside. After ten to fifteen minutes, the cashier came to tell me to move from the table and wait at the handicap table. She brought the party she was going to sit at the table I was at. The party just awkwardly looked at me. I decided to sit outside because I didn't want to use the handicap space, just in case someone came in and needed it. It was quite warm outside with little shade. My drink and toast came out after about 25 minutes. The latte was good. I liked the contrast of the bitterness of the sesame with the oat milk. The avocado toast was beautifully prepared. It had plenty of avocado but could have used more seasoning on the egg and the avocado. They do give you to-go cutlery that comes with salt and pepper, which helped. I may come back in the future to other drinks and their pasta. read more

To clarify, my brother came a year ago and said they only had drinks at the time. 5 stars for the ambiance and space 3/4 stars for savory foods/selection 5 stars for the pastries We were a group of 7 and showed up at opening on Sunday. You order before grabbing a seat and so we got to share plenty of items on the menu. The Taiwanese sausage salad and panini were intriguing, primarily because as a Taiwanese-American, I never say no to trying someone's take on classic favorites. The sausage was rich, which was expected. In the salad, the sun dried tomatoes were absolutely necessary. I wish the sausage was crispy though, I think that would have brought a different texture to the salad. I don't know what the salad was dressed in, but it was light and subtle, which complemented the heavy sausage nicely. In the panini, I also wish the sausage was pan fried for a bit of texture. My main feedback on the panini is the ratio of the cheese to the everything else. If you're a cheese fan - this is for you! Parents are vegetarian, so the pink vodka pasta and impossible Benedict's were awesome options for them. The overall options for vegetarians is a huge plus!! I didn't taste these myself, but the parents enjoyed these. I'm Taiwanese and my husband is Filipino, so we naturally had to try the Purple Ube Tart and the Taro Treat Tart! Ugh, these two deserts are just gorgeous, they are my pastry goals. Both were served warm and in these thin shortbread crusts that had all the texture I was looking for the entire meal. First thing to note about this place is that you order upon entering. They give you a number and you place it on the table you are seated at. They have plenty of seats inside and offer a community table. We were seated at the community table as they had other table reservations on hold; we didn't mind this honestly we just wanted to eat. We waited almost an hour to get our food, which I was told the service was normal quick at this place which I was looking forward to. I definitely have compassion and patience towards servers; especially on a busy day. I guess that's what made it a little frustrating, it wasn't really busy. We were given attitude when asking nicely about our food after waiting for so long. The food was good and I ordered dessert despite what occurred before. It does not seem like a huge storefront from the outside, but when you go in, it's surprisingly big and well decorated! The decor itself is 5 stars. It's been a while since I last ate here and it was a much more positive experience than last time! My friend and I came by and enjoyed the Impossible Benedict (Benedicts only available during weekend brunch), mozzarella kale panini, and blueberry cheesecake. To drink I got the Hojicha latte and she got a Matcha latte. Getting a table can always be tricky on a busy day, since you have to order before you look for a seat, but the cashier directs us toward a big table in the back and said if we didn't mind sharing with others we could sit there. Food came out pretty quickly, even before our drinks, surprisingly. Everything was super tasty & presentation was on point! The gentleman who brought the blueberry cheesecake made a big show of pouring the blueberry sauce on top of the cheesecake which was beautiful and totally added on the wow factor. The sandwich was crispy on the outside and cheesy, melty, & gooey inside. The impossible Benedict has a perfectly poached egg, and our drinks were super good. It's in a plaza that's full of businesses so it can be a bit confusing to find the place. But once found it's like a gem. I ordered the salmon Benedict and their seasonal Matcha Affogato.
